Third sitting on the Glennfinnan Railway. Pleased with the overall look and feel so far - now need to get a lot more detail into the foreground. Might need to straighten one of those columns up too!

Glenfinnan. In 1745 the Jacobite rising began here when Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard on the shores of Loch Shield. #lochshiel #travelphoto #travelphotography #scotlandtravel #scotland_ig #scotland_insta #scotland_lover #countryside #countryside_world #loch #glennfinnan #landscape #wanderlust #wanderlusters #wanderer #glennfinnanmonument https://www.instagram.com/p/B1xcfmVB7fu/?igshid=1i5xl3s2cy0fr

“Anything from the trolley, dear?” A squeal escapes my lips and at that moment I can’t believe what I am experiencing is real life. I AM ON THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS!!!…Well, the Jacobite Train that portrayed the Hogwarts Express for the exterior shots in the Harry Potter movies BUT STILL. THIS is the closest I am going to get to taking a train to Hogwarts, and I am loving every single second of it. My arms are suddenly overflowing with Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, Jelly Slugs, Butterbeer hot chocolate, basically any Harry Potter related sweet that I can get my hands on. Like Harry, I’m overwhelmed with all of the magic surrounding me and have a pocket full of coins, so…”WE’LL TAKE THE LOT”. Nibbling on a chocolate frog, I use my shirt sleeve to wipe the rustic, steamed up window, so I can take a look outside. The breathtaking colors of the Scottish Highlands smile back at me as we pass mountains, lochs, and glens that look like they were plucked right out of a storybook. This magnificent countryside instantly transports me into another world, and my eyes darting about, trying to soak up every inch of its magical beauty. We approach the Glennfinnan Viaduct, the famous bridge where Harry and Ron met up with the train in their flying car, and I open the window above me to get a better look. As poke my head out to take a video (and this picture), the cold wind whips my face, soot fills my lungs, and the melodic chugging of the train fills my ears. Just. total. bliss. As the train slows to a stop, I pull out my wand and shout “EXPECTO PATRONUM!” Lupin had trained me for this very moment and I wasn’t going to let any Dementors come onto the train and ruin this perfect memory. An old man looks up from reading his paper, points at me, and says “Look! It’s Harry Potter!” I grin and look to Brizzy, who while wrapping her Hermione scarf around her neck, gives me a look that says “You better change into your robes. I expect we’ll be arriving soon”.
