A Legacy of Leadership

Since its inception in 1983, Chevening has transformed the lives and careers of over 55,000 professionals. For the 2024/2025 academic year, there are approximately 1,500 scholarships available globally, reaffirming the UK's unwavering commitment to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Moreover, this year marks a special milestone - the 40th anniversary of Chevening Scholarships in the Philippines.   Fostering Global Citizens Since 1983, more than 550 Filipino scholars have joined the global Chevening network. Armed with knowledge and passion acquired during their UK studies, they return to the Philippines, becoming a force of change in their homeland.  

A Message from the Head of Scholarships

Emma Hennessey, Head of Scholarships at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), expressed her admiration for Chevening scholars and alumni. She highlighted how they utilize the knowledge gained in the UK to drive change, making the world a better place. The global Chevening network, comprising over 55,000 alumni, embodies the essence of the UK's commitment to nurturing global leaders.  

Inclusivity and Diversity

British Ambassador to the Philippines and Palau, HMA Laure Beaufils, emphasized that Chevening scholarships welcome applicants from all walks of life. Regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or cultural background, the scholarship seeks individuals with energy, curiosity, a clear vision for the future, and the determination to achieve their goals.
