all of the (video) essays I want to make eventually:
Tumblr media
some of these are self explanatory, but I'll explain a bit bc why not
I think 7 would just be really funny if I made like a 8 hour video meticulously going through the whole plot trying to fix everything
number 4 would be about corpanga, miggie (maddie and diggie from liv and maddie) and lutteo because I think there are some similarities and differences that would be fun to talk about
number 8 is basically catagorising all the disney channel brothers into nerd vs troublemaker, maybe a sub catagory of stupid
10-12 would essentially be the same style of videos as quinton reviews NCU series, like episode by episode recap while also looking into lore and stuff (currently there are 9 seasons I think, so it would be 3 seasons per video/essay)
number 13 is purely because SOMEONE needs to write or make a video about backstage it is such a good show and criminally underrated
number 9 in a similar way because not enough people are talking about the TRAVESTY that was the icarly reboot getting cancelled i just have to make something about that
5 has probably been done before but i have my own perspective bc i watched gmw before bmw and i really want to see more than just 'this show will never hold up to the original' I WANT TO GET INTO WHY AND WHAT WENT WRONG (cough cough why would you make an abc family sitcom into a disney highly censored kids show)

Recap and review: Episode 3x21 - Girl Meets Goodbye
This is a recap and my personal review of Girl Meets Goodbye. It will contain spoilers, so read on only if you want to know what happens.
Recap:
In this episode, Topanga is trying to make a decision about London. Riley and Maya are terrified she's going to choose to take the job, which would mean moving the entire family to England.
In class, Cory finally teaches them about Belgium 1831, which is when Belgium decided to break out of the united kingdom of the Netherlands. Which the kids see as a metaphor for Riley maybe moving away.
Back at the Matthews apartment,  Topanga has gathered her whole family and everyone she cares about to ask their advice about her decision. They all pretty much just tell her they know she'll make the right decision on her own.
In the end, she chooses not to go.
Review:
This episode was a huge let-down. Much ado about nothing… Nobody went anywhere and nothing happened, but somehow they managed to make a huge deal out of that. Plus, Auggie and Ava literally showed more emotion than Riley and Lucas. Somewhere along the way Riley and Lucas (or Rowan and Peyton) lost all chemistry, maybe that's why we haven't gotten to see them together at all since they became a couple. Maybe the writers knew there was no point in giving them scenes together.
One good thing about this episode is that there was a lot of gold here for Boy Meets World fans. Mr. Turner and Shawn hugging was beautiful! The double-Morgan thing was actually handled well, I think, and I like any time we get to see Eric or any of the other "oldies". Amy and Alan, Harley Keiner, and of course Mr. Feeny!
Today's best quote:
Ava: "I spoke to my mom and she said I could go!" Auggie: "Really?" Topanga: "Don't answer" I'm afraid of the actual answer…"
Today's sweetest moment:
This one goes to Ava and Auggie in the bay window.
Notable guest stars:
Bill Daniels as Mr. Feeny Lily Nicksay as Morgan Matthews Lindsay Ridgeway as Morgan Matthews Lee Norris as Stuart Minkus Betsy Randle as Amy Matthews William Russ as Alan Matthews Will Friedle as Eric Matthews Anthony Tyler Quinn as Jonathan Turner Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter Danny McNulty as Harley Keiner
Random observations:
Ava is surprisingly good at doing a British accent. What is she 7? Maybe 8?
How is Eric still so well-written when the rest of this show is so bad?
THE NOOK! THEY MENTIONED THE NOOK!
The flashback we saw was to the final episode of Boy Meets World called "Brave New World"
Now it’s your turn!

Andi Mack 2x21 Review
For the Last Time was a really emotional episode with some stellar performances by the cast. It was also the best written episode of 2b so far but what was the point of all of this?
Positives:
Sofia is truly a powerhouse actor. She really brought it this episode and shows just how indispensable she really is to the show. And it was such a great twist that Buffy didn’t want to say goodbye and told them she was leaving the next morning when in fact she left at night.
It was great to see Pat Driscoll again. Her scenes with Buffy were powerful as usual but I also liked that we got to see a softer side of her when she talked with Cyrus and Andi; I loved her reading the list and being surprised by the items that called back to S1.
LOL at her asking Buffy if she went out with Cyrus. The show sure is fond of subtly reminding us that Cyrus is gay right before he hangs with TJ: him breaking up with Iris the ep before the swings, his little head rest with Andi before going to talk with TJ at the game, and now this right before he spends time with TJ at the gym and at the spoon in the next ep.
I was so shocked that they brought up Marty. It was very poignant seeing Buffy with that photo of him.
I’ve seen a lot of misconceptions about the ‘’faith’’ scene. Guys it’s not hinting at T*ffy in S3 or ever. Even if TJ was straight (not something I’d bet on after the swings), they’re not going to pair him with Buffy. They have no chemistry and almost all of their scenes are painful to watch. And there’s a large age gap between Luke and Sofia that shouldn’t be ignored.
The reference Bex made came right after Jonah said that even Buffy’s nemesis (TJ) will miss her. Faith was Buffy’s sorta ally turned nemesis turned redeemed ally. They were never lovers!
What we can’t forget is that everything said in Bex’s apartment wasn’t meant for Buffy as she never got the capsule, it was meant for the other characters and for the audience.
TJ signing the ball was to show the audience that he’s slowly starting to change for the better and Bex’s faith comment was a fun little nod to Buffy the Vampire Slayer that also let us know that TJ isn’t going to remain a villain forever. And of course we saw Cyrus’ little smile when he realized that Jonah got TJ, that was meant to once more connect them in the minds of the audience.
Marty’s letter was a very sweet recap of Muffy’s most important moments. Again it was meant more for the audience than for Buffy. I’d bet Ham and Celia’s retirement savings that Marty giving Buffy his shoelaces and telling her that she was faster was going to be how Marty reconciled with Buffy in the writer’s original plan for S2. But that’s all for naught so we got this closure ceremony as well (reminded me of the one Bex and Andi held for Gabriel). I think the casual audience will now understand that Marty is never coming back nor shall he be mentioned again.
I think this was the most thoughtful and charming Jonah has been since at least A Good Hair Day if not earlier. This is the Jonah we should have been seeing in 2a, he cares about his friends, he listens and give good advice, and he takes decisive action to help.
Now I’ve long thought that Buffy’s crush will be on Jonah and this episode provides some support for my theory. Jonah’s ‘’Buffy likes me doesn’t she?’’ line sounds like it could be foreshadowing. Of course sometimes a cigar is just a cigar but there also is the fact that Jonah knew exactly what parting gifts to get Buffy, something he’s never been good at with Amber or Andi. And the last time we’ve seen Jonah be this good at human emotions was his scene with Buffy in A Good Hair Day.
We’ll have to see what happens in eps 23 and 24 since Buffy most likely doesn’t return until the end of 2x22 and her crush is revealed in 2x24 at the art show.
Stoney did such a great job this episode. Once Bex revealed that Celia had bought the Fringe he looked he aged 10 years as this sense of weariness settled over him. Celia really needed to talk things over with Ham; she can’t just spend their retirement savings on trying to prop up their daughter. The vast majority of small businesses fail and what happens when their retirement funds run out? They can kiss goodbye to their house and to any dreams of Paris.
I’ve seen speculation that Ham’s shocking news in 2x23 might be a separation or a divorce. It could be though it would obviously lead to a quick reconciliation. That may explain why Jonah is trying to comfort Andi at their trampoline date in what looks to be 2x23.
The on location filming really helped sell Buffy’s move and the last shot of Andi and Cyrus and Jonah standing in the dark outside Buffy’s empty house while a super on the nose song (’’For the Last Time”) played was heart breaking.
Interesting little detail, both Andi and Cyrus were wearing red and black at Bex’s apartment, it’s not often we see them matching. I think it was a little visual cue that they’re closer than they’ve been in a very long time.
This episode did a good job of wrapping everything up, it would have made for a good season finale.
Negative:
What the hell was the point of all this though? We have 5 episodes left in S2 and surely the entire audience knows that Sofia has been on set for S3 and that there are still clips of Buffy from the 2b promo that we haven’t seen yet.
For a show that prides itself on realism how are they going to bring back Buffy permanently? There’s no good explanations, we’re probably going to end up with some bs ‘’My mom convinced her commanding officer that our friendship was more important that the army’s needs and he agreed to transfer her back’’. Even GMW had the good sense to not actually move Riley.
Setting aside Disney’s strangling of Cyrus’ story, there are clear issues going on in the writer’s room. As @andisyellowmotorbike mentioned, the acting and production for the individual eps in 2b have been great but from a birds eye view the writing is really bad.  Did no one in the writer’s room point out that actually moving Buffy would backfire when they inevitably bring her back at the end of the next ep? Did no one realize what a bad idea it was to slow the timeline to a crawl for 6 eps? Did no one think that there was way too much story to fit into a 10 day timeline and that even breaking the timeline like they did and stretching it to 3ish weeks would still mean that a lot of plots wouldn’t properly be dealt with?
This episode hints at one of the reasons that 2b has been such a mess; Marty leaving. I think once S2 is over we’ll be able to fully see just how disastrous Marty’s abrupt exit was to the show and to Buffy’s storyline in particular.
What I think happened is that the writers had to scrap their eventual Muffy endgame and they had always planned for TJ and Walker to come in for Cyrus and Andi so Jonah would be left single after S2. It would have really upended audience expectations to have Jonah, the Disney prince love interest, stay single in S3 but it’s much harder for a tween/teen oriented show to have 2 out of 4 main characters stay single. So if Buffy needs to be paired off and Jonah is free why not push them together? Disney will be happy that as Asher’s star waxes he’ll still be playing a romantic lead so they can keep those tween girls happy.
Looking Ahead:
I’m very interested in next episode. I can’t wait to see what the mobile text apps have to say about Cyrus and TJ and what our hetero-normative pals on the Mack Chat have to say. It looks like TJ and Cyrus leave the spoon after the Jandi drama erupts which will be an interesting contrast.
This also marks TJ’s first scene at the spoon and more importantly his first scene with Andi, a big moment for his character.
And it’s nice to see that at least the straight characters can textually act out jealousy! Jonah calling Natalie to get back at Andi is so petty but so funny.

SUV Lovers Throng Exhibition of Haval Jolion and H6 in Islamabad
Adding another feather to its cap after it successfully launched Haval SUVs in Pakistan, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SEWL) decided to catch the attention of the twin-city dwellers and hosted an inaugural ceremony of a two-day exhibition featuring Haval’s Jolion and H6 at the Centaurus Mall, Islamabad, on Friday.
The event, wherein the general public can now have a closer look and get acclimated to the vehicles, was attended by the Senior Vice President (SVP) Pak Golf Construction Sardar Yasir Ilyas as the chief guest.
Haval Jolion
The first day of the event saw a large crowd of people gathering around and having a closer look at the vehicles, the majority of whom were awestruck with the design and the build quality of the vehicles.

Background
To recap, SEWL formed a partnership with Haval and acquired a category-A greenfield status to manufacture vehicles in Pakistan earlier this year. The company launched two crossover SUVs, namely, the Jolion and the H6, to compete in the growing compact SUV market of Pakistan.
Haval – a marquee owned by a Chinese automotive group know as the Great Wall Motors (GMW) – is one of the largest automakers in the world’s biggest car market. With a lineup composed completely of SUVs, the Haval enjoys a strong reputation in 60 countries and is one of the largest SUV makers in the world, with a diverse lineup of SUVs.
Both SUVs are offered in Pakistan with a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 147 horsepower (hp) and 220 Newton-meters (nm) of torque and sends all the power to the front wheels via a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
Haval H6
The SUVs are also loaded with modern features such as Parking Sensors, 360-degree cameras, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, autonomous braking, collision warning, 6 airbags, among a comprehensive list of other comfort and safety features.
Current Status
Ever since the launch, the Haval twins have witnessed two price hikes within a few months. The starting prices of the Jolion and the H6 SUVs were Rs. 5.52 million and Rs. 6.29 million respectively. However, after the recent price hike, the prices of Jolion and H6 SUVs have increased to Rs. 6.02 and Rs. 6.85 million respectively.
The company has cited the recent supply chain issues, increase in raw material costs, and the depreciation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar to be the reason for the price hikes.

Despite the increase in prices, Mian Muhammad Ali Hameed, Executive Director Sales and Marketing, SEWL, stated that the demand for the Haval SUVs has been incredibly high ever since the launch.

He added that the company is eager to begin the local production of the Haval SUVs in Pakistan, which would also pave the way for the expansion of the brand’s presence across Pakistan.
Future Plans
During his conversation with ProPakistani, Hameed stated that the local assembly of the Haval SUVs would begin next year, and this would help in the stability and possible reduction of the vehicle prices.
He added that the vehicle already had the attributes needed to succeed in the market, further highlighting that, despite the SUVs being turbocharged, both the Jolion and the H6 are compliant with normal fuel, unlike other turbocharged vehicles that are compliant with hi-octane or Euro-5 fuel only, which is more expensive.

GMW Network Updates
We’ve got a couple of things to announce, so we thought it would be easier to do it all in one post. There’s some good news and some not so good news, but it’s all a step forward for the network, and means that we’ll be able to accept new members in the near future.
We’ve got a lot of inactive members, and although we understand that people have busy lives and can’t always make a lot of things, the majority of our members aren’t making regular content – or any content at all. Because of this, we’re going to be having a “members clear out”. What that means is that if you don’t contact the blog/one of our admins before the 28th October, 2017 saying that you still want to be a member (or that you’re on hiatus but will be active again soon and want to remain a member), we’ll assume that you no longer want to be a member and/or are no longer active, and will remove you as one of our members. I know this sounds harsh, but it’s disappointing seeing so many of our members making literally nothing and not taking part in any challenges, whilst other non-members do. Please note that if you’re currently away, have a family emergency, etc., and see this post after the 28th, just let us know and we’ll happily accept you back as a member.
Next, we have a new members page! You can check it out here. We’ve now got filters for what ships and characters each member likes, along with what sort of creations they make. Members, if any of the information in your section is incorrect, you want a different icon, and/or we haven’t got some necessary info yet (like your favourite character, age, pronouns, or mini description) please let us know!
And finally, the network now has a group chat on discord, which you can get as an app and on your laptop, where we can talk about girl meets world, share our creations, and just chat! This is for members only, so if you’re a member and want to join, please contact the blog/one of our admins so that we can give you the link.
So, to recap… Members who still want to be in the network, please send the blog an ask telling us this, along with any more info we need to know for the members page, and if you want to be in the discord chat. Thank you!

but will does for sure know about our campaign so do you rly think he'd tease us like that when he knows we're excited?? i'm tentatively hopeful
I’m staying grounded. ☺️
When he was teasing the fake presidential campaign video before he released it, people seriously thought there was gonna be an Eric spinoff series…
‘Course I would LOVE to be wrong and for it to be about a GMW pick-up, but I very-extremely-so-much doubt it.
EDIT: May also very easily be the deleted Eric/Feeny GM Goodbye scene MJ talked about releasing on YouTube in the DeadlineTVLine article: http://tvline.com/2017/01/20/girl-meets-world-recap-series-finale-michael-jacobs-interview/

Recap and review: Episode 3x20 - Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen
This is a recap and my personal review of Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen. It will contain spoilers, so read on only if you want to know what happens.
Recap:
Riley and Maya want to do something new and exciting, and decide to celebrate their sweet sixteens now. When they announce this in class, Cory points out that Riley has a tendency to want to accelerate the clock, and she agrees that she feels like they are growing up very fast.  Cory states that you can either be surprised by what's coming in the future, or you can look to the landmarks of your lives so far. He gives them as an assignment to tell him what's going to happen in their junior year, when they are all 16 or 17 years old.
The group goes to Topanga's to discuss what junior year might be like. When asked if Riley and Maya will still be best friends, their answer is immediate and positive. When Lucas asks Riley if she thinks they will still be together, Riley is less certain, but states that she is hopeful. Lucas says that he is hopeful too, and the two hold hands. Realizing that emotions play into this, which can't be scientifically calculated, Smackle freaks out thinking she's going to fail the assignment, and consequently crashes, like a computer.
While Smackle is buffering, Farkle asks to talk to Lucas, and the two go outside. Zay starts playing with the idle Smackle, and Riley and Maya stay behind talking about the future. They soon realize that they might not stay together forever, as Riley wants to go to a college in America while Maya thinks she might go to Europe to study art. When Smackle comes to and asks what she missed, Zay repeats Riley and Mayas conclusion that they're all probably not going to stay together after high school, and all the girls get upset.
Outside, Farkle and Lucas are talking. Farkle tells Lucas that if Smackle has feelings for him (which she has frequently alluded to), he will step aside. Lucas seems unconcerned with this matter, and the rest of the group comes outside. Smackle is still scared of failing, and asks Riley if Cory knows what his doing giving them this assignment. The group agrees that Cory is a great teacher and probably has a plan.
Lucas finds Smackle alone at Topanga's and sits down right next to her. This makes her uncomfortable, but he stays there and starts giving her compliments. She responds very matter-of-factly, and Lucas points out that if Farkle were there, she would have made some joke about Lucas hitting on her. She then admits that she only does that because she's afraid Farkle doesn't really like her, and she's trying to protect herself. Farkle was hiding behind the counter the entire time and heard everything, and he tells her he likes her just as she is.
Back in class, Riley and Maya has realized that they can't really control what happens in the future, but you can choose who you want to keep in your life. They decide to throw a party to celebrate that, but when they get to the Matthews' house, Topanga looks upset. She tells them she has been named head of her firm's London office.
Review:
Is it me, or has "growing up too fast" been the topic of 90 % of the episodes of this show? Aside from the repeat topic, this episode was alright. I like that they realized that they can still remain friends even if they study at different schools, as friendships don't have to end just because you choose different paths in life. That this group will be splitting up after high school should come as no surprise to anyone. Their grades vary as much as their interests, it would make no sense for them all to go to the same college.
I'm glad we finally cleared up Smackle's continued flirting with Lucas, because that's been making me uncomfortable. I'm not quite sure what happened in Farkle's conversation with Lucas, though. I know he said he'd step aside, and then he said something about Riley, but he spoke so fast and/or unclearly that I couldn't catch it. I played it back five times, and then I gave up. Feel free to enlighten me if whatever he said about Riley in that situation was important.
Topanga's transfer was a big twist, and I'm interested to see what will happen with that. I've actually managed to stay away from spoilers, so I genuinely don't know how they're going to play it. My theory would be that somehow Topanga ends up leaving without her family. I don't actually think that's likely, but I can see this storyline being written because Danielle wanted out, and they couldn't very well kill her off, so… We'll see, I guess.
Today's best quote:
Riley: "Maya, what if we don't care about out boyfriends as much as we care about each other?" Maya: "We'll just care for them in a different way" Riley: "What different way?" Maya: "Less."
Today's sweetest moment:
When Farkle told Smackle "I like you so much that when I'm sixteen I'll tell you to go study in Sweden if you really want to".
Today's funniest moment:
Zay dancing with Smackle after she "crashed". Hilarious!
Random observations:
Farkle has apparently forgotten that he didn't meets Lucas, Smackle or Zay the first day of school…
Zay should have his own show, he's by far the best part of this one.
This is the episode where they finally pointed out that Riley and Lucas are a couple. Which became a fact 11 episodes ago.
Now it’s your turn!

Episode 3x19 - World Meets Girl
It seems silly to write a review of an episode that isn’t really an episode, so I won’t do it. I’ll just say that this was a nice little tribute to the fans of the show, although I would’ve liked a bit more inside info about the show and the cast. Knowing that the show is coming to an end soon gave this episode a bit more meaning, and I think it was a nice gesture to invite the fans into the show, let them sit in the bay window and talk to the cast. I’m sure a whole lot of people appreciated it.
What did you think of the episode?

Recap and review: Episode 3x18 - Girl Meets a Christmas Maya
This is a recap and my personal review of Girl Meets a Christmas Maya. It will contain spoilers, so read on only if you want to know what happens.
Recap:
Christmas is here, and Maya has decided to spend Christmas with Riley. She says that things are always crazy at her house at Christmas, and since this is the first year with Shawn, she doesn't want to be there and be part  of the reason why things are crazy. Riley thinks Maya should be with her new family, but Maya is adamant.
Riley has arranged for the group to do secret Santa, even though everybody else hates the concept. She thinks it's a fun way to see how well the group knows each other. Zay picks Smackle, and is really struggling. He asks Farkle for help because he doesn't know Smackle that well, but Farkle tells him that's the point of the game: to see how well they know each other, and that Zay should know Smackle, considering that she's their friend and is in their group. Farkle, however, has picked Zay, and has absolutely no idea what to get him.
Riley makes a big deal about Maya needing to be home for Christmas, and puts on a play with her family to make Maya realize what she has. They start with "Act 1 - Maya's Christmas past", where they reenact her rather sad past Christmases".
In "Act 2 – Maya's Christmas present" the group gathers to open presents, and it's a disaster. Nobody got something they wanted, and everybody's upset. They feel like they don't know each other at all. However, when they all start explaining why they got each other the gifts they did, it turns  out that there was a lot of thought put behind each and every one, and everyone realizes that the gift they got was really beautiful.
In "Act 3 – Maya's Christmas future", Shawn in introduced, and Maya realizes that she is lucky to have a family that wants to spend Christmas with her. She goes home with her mother.
Review:
In this weeks' episode of Girl Meets World: Maya uses violence to deal with her annoyance with Riley. Seriously kids, pinching someone because they annoy you is not OK. Don't learn from this episode.
Besides the use of violence, this was a sweet episode. Boring, for sure, but sweet. It made sense that not everybody in the group knew what to get for each other, as there are clear within-clique cliques in that group. Zay and Farkle rarely speak, and the same goes for Maya and Smackle and Zay and Smackle. However, they still managed to get each other thoughtful and sweet gifts, and that warmed my heart.
The whole thing with Maya not wanting to go home was a little dumb, but they handled it nicely. I like that they ended up pointing out that Maya does in fact have a family to go home to, which is more than Shawn had at her age. Why Ava wasn't with her own family, I don't know, but she was actually really funny in this episode.
I feel like Ava is usually a hit or miss kind of character, and they often take things way too far with her. That bit about her eating too many cookies and going nuts was incredibly annoying, but her reaction to the Gift of the Magi was hilarious.
I don't quite know how to word my opinion of Riley in this episode, but I didn't like her. I generally like that she's ditsy and happy-go-lucky, but I don't like it when they take it this far. It's like Joey in the last few seasons of friends, it's just too hard to believe that anyone could stand to be around her when she's like that.
Zay is awesome. Zay in always awesome.
Today's best quote:
Zay wants Maya to tell him who she picked for secret Santa.
Maya: "Never. I won't even tell you if it's a him or hu-hurr"
Today's sweetest moment:
I think Farkle and Smackle getting Zay a game that takes seven years to play because they want to get to know him better was pretty sweet.
Random observations:
Did anybody else not miss Lucas?
Now it’s your turn!
