This movie has some of the best character designs I’ve ever seen for like. A modern day live-action movie.

The strong silhouettes. The color theming. I love how it fits the movie’s time period of being modern day with older aesthetics. I ESPECIALLY love yo-yos outfit. This movie is fucking fantastic.

Shout out to when I tried posting my tf2 fanart on the subreddit and I got two comments about it being the “tumblr art style”, one saying it looks “SJW” and another just calling me the F-slur.

It was a few years ago, and I know the tf2 subreddit has some lovely folks and I’ve had plenty of pleasant experiences on there, but once a few people start to dogpile you, a lot more come.

And like… what exactly about this is… tumblr art style? What about it looks queer? They’re all close to canon. Is it just because I drew like… big eyes and bold colors that it warrants calling me the f-slur?

Right wingers just see anything that remotely looks like things they associate with people they don’t like and start hurling hate at you.

TLDR: no clue what the ‘tumblr art style’ is supposed to look like, people are just mean and so entrenched in their culture war bullshit that they attack anything they see, I guess. Fucking sucks.

Xmen from the ashes was so good!!! Absolutely made my week. I can keep living.

Won’t be too spoilery but here’s a summer of my thoughts:

- I think Stegman’s way of drawing Beast is so fun

- Banter is a little corny but I love it

- yay Idie gets a personality and character! I was afraid she’d get sidelined. However my feelings on her new design are quite mixed.

- yay references to past books! MacKay totally did his research!!

- Quentin. Is there. YAY!!!!

I started shipping Glob and Quentin kind of as a joke but after writing 2,500 words on them I don’t think it’s a joke anymore. I think they would be the worst couple ever and really gross. Which is ideal shipping
