I am absolutely agreeing to Attorney Choi’s and Yeon Woo’s last words. Life won’t and will never tell you which way to go. You have to figure it out yourself. I know it sounds so scary because we don’t know what might happen but just like what Yeon Woo said, it was and it will be our choices that made or will make a difference. Furthermore, no matter what happens, we need to keep going. Always keep going even if it is just a step. Because sometimes, starting a good won’t be enough. You have to end well as well. And for us to do that, we have to make many choices. It will always go down to us–making choices. We may always want to make certain,  precise, calculated, and well-thought decisions but in life, nothing is predictable and making an indefinite, uncertain and impulsive decision or mistakes will happen but when that time comes, what will matter will be what would we choose to do after that wrong decision. After all, life is never meant to be easy. We have to fight our battles every day. Anyhow, it will always come down to us. We are responsible for the life we’ve been living.
I would like to end this with the creed I am starting to live by since my second year at senior high, always remember that your actions, your responsibility.
These pictures are the last scenes of the last episode of Korea’s version of Suits starring Park Hyung Shik, Jang Dong Gun, and many more talented actors. This is a must watch kdrama because every episode was overflowing with tension and you’ll definitely have many realizations like what happened to me.

Woo Do Hwan: Interview with Kankoku TV Drama vol. 97 (Aug 2020)
Tumblr media
Once again, much thanks to @staidwaters for graciously reviewing and correcting!!! This was a really hefty interview, hope you enjoy~
-------------
Woo Do Hwan
Sword, bow, and horseback riding for the first time
A “Monstrous Newcomer” in a career-making, historical drama debut
In 2016, in the movie “Master”, Woo Do Hwan played the role of Lee Byung Hyun’s subordinate. Even though he appeared onscreen for just three minutes, he left a strong impression, attracting attention. Since then, he starred in “Save Me” (2017 OCN), taking on the nickname of “Monstrous Newcomer” and setting out on a brilliant career path. The next step he takes will be his first historical drama “My Country” (2019 JTBC).
Tackling a historical drama is an ideal chance for young and promising actors to grow; they have a rare chance to study in depth with multiple superb veteran actors over the long filming period. Woo Do Hwan did not miss this opportunity. His new work “The King: Eternal Monarch” (2020 SBS) leverages 120% of what he learned from “My Country”, and his popularity is surging.
Struck by a midwinter waterfall, the most dreadful and frigid opportunity to showcase yourself
--What kind of work is ”My Country”?
WDH: Each of the characters clash with the others for the sake of their personal convictions. This drama depicts their love and friendships. The country they are each reaching for … in a way, you could say they seek the same goal. Everyone wants a country in which they can live happily, but each person has a different path to that goal. This work skillfully depicts the conflicts that arise in the midst of this.
--Please introduce the role that you play.
WDH: Nam Seon-ho is an illegitimate child born to a family of nobles (yanban), and he has suffered greatly because of his birth. The poor guy is only able to relax his guard and laugh when he is with Seo Hwi (played by Yang Se Jong) and his younger sister Yeon (played by Jo Yi Hyun). However, even under such circumstances, he holds onto his ambitions. He doesn’t want other people to experience the same kind of pain that he has endured, so he strives to become the right-hand man of Yi Seong-gye (played by Kim Young-cheol), the future founder and king of the Joseon Dynasty. However, it doesn’t go as expected and I end up in opposition to Hwi, my dearest friend.
--What things did you pay attention to when creating the role?
WDH: Since it’s a period drama, it was difficult to get used to the way of speaking and tone of voice. It took me a while to get the hang of it. Now  I have the opposite problem, I’m doing my best to shake off the historical tone (laughs).
--The gorgeous hairstyles and clothing were a sight to behold.
WDH: Honestly, at first I thought “Long hair probably won’t suit me…” (laugh). So early on, I participated in many concept meetings and tried out different hairstyles. Even with long hair, there are many different hairstyles that can be made, such as wearing with armor or tying it up. I collaborated with the director to choose the most suitable style according to the situation in the drama. I was able to try on as many outfits as hairstyles, but I really enjoyed being  able to wear the special costumes such as the armor and the inspector’s garments; things we normally don’t get the chance to wear.
--How did you practice horseback riding, swordsmanship, and archery?
WDH: Before filming started, I studied martial arts for about two months. Filming lasted nine months, so in total I was focused on this work for a whole year. While filming action, it’s important to skillfully capture the scene, but the most essential thing is to not to get hurt. For that reason, the cinematographer, my co-stars, and I always had to be in perfect sync. It took time to match movements for the sword fights.
--You became the topic of much discussion when you revealed your magnificent physique in a waterfall during the opening of the drama. What are your secrets for managing your fitness?
WDH: I train on a regular basis. If I only started working out when I knew there were going to be scenes with skin showing, it’d be stressful trying to build up my body in a short period of time for shooting. After all, I don’t know when or where I will have to strip down for a scene! (laugh) Usually I play a lot of soccer, and I’ll go to the gym to train if I have time. If I take care of myself properly as a habit, then I don’t need to worry if my body looks good or if I should put in more effort during acting; I can just concentrate on my performance.
--Was the director’s reaction a good one?
WDH: He was extremely happy, hahaha. They keep trying to make me take my clothes off, so I was like, “Come on, give me a break!” The road to the filming location for the waterfall scene was rugged and steep and it was incredibly cold; it was the most difficult scene. Se-jong even said “I never want to go into water that cold again”.
--A lot of viewers said that “Nam Seon-ho is the most pitiful man in the world.” How do you personally feel?
WDH: I wanted to present Seon-ho as a tragic figure, so I was glad that the audience saw him the same way; it encouraged me to put in even more effort and I worked hard to build up his character. Seon-ho constantly stands on the boundary between life and death, living a life where he might die at any moment. He never manages to accomplish any of his dreams, and it is only at the very end that he realizes what is most precious to him. However, even though Seon-ho is a tragic character, if we just focused on the sadness the drama would be hard to watch and it wouldn’t be interesting at all. Therefore I wanted to show many things with him, such as him being a powerful figure, and the loneliness his power hides.
He was able to finish the drama because he was with Se-jong, his co-star of the same age.
Tumblr media
--At what points did you sympathize with Seon-ho?
WDH: There is always a conflict in Seon-ho’s life in that he always has to sacrifice something in order to get something he wants. Seon-ho’s situation is an extreme case, of course, but I think that in our lives there are many moments like his, even if they are small and trivial. Moments when we desire what we can’t have, or throw away things we shouldn’t throw away. There are also moments when we all have to give something up for the sake of a goal that we are reaching for.  In the midst of that, I worried about the things that I should protect, so I deeply sympathized with Seon-ho, whose ideals and emotions were in conflict with each other.
--Your portrayal of the character’s emotions was well-received. When was Seon-ho the most emotional?
WDH: It would be when he heard that Seo Hwi was alive. I had a deep rapport with Se-jong in all my scenes with him. From a certain point onwards, the events in the drama truly felt real, and I fell more and more in love with Se-jong (laugh). I deeply empathized with Seon-ho’s emotions, which made me want to perform even more intensely in this work.
--Concerning expressing emotions, are you the type to do a lot of preparation beforehand? Or are you the type to perform what you feel on the spot?
WDH: I think I am half-and-half. Beforehand, I’ll think, “So we’re filming this kind of scene today”,  why is this happening, and what was the situation before this scene? However, it’s difficult to continuously hold onto emotions because there are rehearsals and blocking out our positions with the director. So I will concentrate on creating the emotion in the moment when acting.
--And what about your mutually dependent relationship with Yang Se-jong, who played the role of Seo Hwi?
WDH: I believe it would have been very difficult if Se-jong hadn’t been there. I relied on him a lot. The make-up room was set up in a large van onsite, and while our hair was being done, we would go over our lines. If one person said their lines, then the other person would just naturally respond with their own lines. We are the same age, not just in the drama but also in real life, so in both the Goryeo and modern eras, we were always communicating well, back and forth.
Se-jong always helped me, and even though we were together on location for very long periods of time, not once did we fight or have a conflict of opinion. We spent our time together as good friends, always being considerate of each other.
--There were many scenes of Seon-ho and Hwi’s friendship that brought out tears, but was there a particular scene where you especially felt the friendship between the two?
WDH: All those scenes where we rescued each other. Especially that scene in the latter half, where Hwi took Seon-ho out of Yi Bang-won’s (played by Jang Hyuk) house; that was memorable. Then in the first half, during the massacre of the Liaodong Punitive Expedition advance party, there’s a scene where we cross swords in the midst of combat and I recognize my dear friend Hwi. That scene was very good and had a big impact.
--What is your impression of Seolhyun (AOA) as Han Hee-jae?
WDH: Seolhyun was truly a “celebrity” to me (laugh). She is one of Korea’s top idols; I’ve seen her movies. When I heard that she would be co-starring with me, I was very much looking forward to it. Once we were actually performing together, I was amazed that her acting was even better than I expected. Seolhyun was the youngest on location, but she had a very mature attitude during filming. In front of a large crowd of her seniors, she played a bold and strong woman. I was impressed.
--The antagonism between Seon-ho and his father was one of the highlights of the drama. How was it like to co-star with Ahn Nae-sang, who played the role of your father?
WDH: Ahn Nae-sang sunbae was like a real father, a very interesting person. Although he’d say “Seon-ho is an impertinent son” (laugh), he worked well with me, and did a lot for me. During breaks, he tells jokes and lightens the atmosphere on set, but once filming starts, his gaze radically changes and he becomes a terrifying father. He’s not someone who hands out advice left and right to juniors, rather, he is a person who reacts kindly and looks after us.
Extremely jealous of Se-jong’s Japanese fanmeet
Tumblr media
--What are your thoughts on successfully wrapping up your first historical drama?
WDH: I wore hanbok, long wigs, and armor--I got to experience all of these things for the first time. I’ve also never done things like swordsmanship, archery, or horseback riding, so each one of those was a new challenge. Because I have never lived in that time period, I worried about how I should portray it. Despite that, I enjoyed everything. The remote locations that I visited were very beautiful, and during breaks it was a wonderful experience to enjoy the scenery and watch the seasons change instead of sitting in the dressing room. I’ve heard from my seniors that once you’ve done one historical drama, you’ll want to do another, and now I know what that feeling is like for myself.
--What was the most memorable location?
WDH: In the opening scenes, I often went to the countryside, but first I filmed the waterfall scene and the cliff scene. That cliff scene was absolutely terrifying. I scaled the cliff and did the action scene, but I thought...I might actually die if I fall (strained laugh).
--Watching the behind-the-scenes footage, you seem the quiet type but at the Japanese fanmeeting, I feel that you were skilled at speaking onstage. What is your actual personality?
WDH: Do I look like someone who doesn’t say much? I’m definitely not the talkative type, though. Hahaha. I talk a lot when I’m with Se-jong, but the interesting thing is, how much Se-jong and I will say changes depending on the day. On some days Se-jong speaks more than I do, and on other days I won’t shut up (laugh).
--Since filming continued for about a year, was it difficult to break free from the role of Seon-ho?
WDH: Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought about Seon-ho without today’s interview. However, Seon-ho’s sword is in my living room, so whenever I see it, I’m going to remember (laugh). But because I can’t use historical speech in the drama that I’m currently filming, I try to forget as much as possible.
--Currently you’re in the middle of filming the drama “The King”, right?
WDH: In “The King”, one person plays two different roles. The show depicts parallel worlds. In one world, Lee Min-ho sunbae plays the emperor and my character, Jo Yeong, has been by the emperor’s side since childhood and is the captain of the Royal Guard. In the other world, I am Jo Eun-seop, a social service worker whose personality is the complete opposite to Yeong’s. I’m having a lot of fun filming this, so please look forward to it.
--What does “my country” mean to you?
WDH: I believe it’s the people around me. I have family, I have friends, and I also have colleagues. A life where I can live happily with all of them, that is my dream country, I guess. No one goes on without desire, so I want to live together while caring for each other.
--You’ve been called the “Monstrous Newcomer”. With this kind of recognition, do you feel pressured?
WDH: I’m always under pressure. However, I tell myself I can’t lose to it, I have to work harder to overcome it.
--Finally, a message to your Japanese fans.
WDH: 2020 was the year I definitely wanted to meet all my Japanese fans, but filming for “The King” started earlier than expected and hasn’t finished yet. I was incredibly jealous when I heard that Se-jong held a Japanese fan meeting at the end of 2019. When “The King” finishes, I would like to meet you all. Until then, please take care of yourself and be happy. I will do my best to finish my work and greet you in good form. If you haven’t seen “My Country” yet, I definitely invite you to watch it.  I also hope you look forward to “The King”.

I Lead, You Follow
I wrote this in case we didn’t get a kiss. So this is before I found out about Yoo Han’s face blindness, but I gotta say it’s pretty on point.
Tumblr media
They had been staring at each other for longer than what would be considered normal. Yoo Han’s gaze was firm and intense, Yeon Woo felt fearful of exactly what his probe was thinking. He could see desire and longing turn Yoo Han’s caramel brown eyes a sort dark chocolate.
He swallowed hard, fear rising inside his gut. What if Yoo Han was calling everything off? What if he was left alone in a grayscale world without his only source of light? He was about to open his mouth and say something to break the silence, but Yoo Han beat him to it.
“Why do you look so frightened?” his probe asked. Yoo Han’s face had softened a bit. Yeon Woo was seriously still trying to figure out if the probe could read his mono’s mind or not. It was like Yoo Han had heard his panicked thoughts loud and clear.
Yeon Woo dropped the other’s gaze and awkwardly responded, “Why are you staring at me?”
He looked up long enough to see Yoo Han smile before dropping his eyes back down to the the hand holding his between them. “Choi Yeon Woo, look at me,” Yoo Han gently ordered. Yeon Woo immediately looked back up at Yoo Han.
It was a second nature thing for him to do at this point. He felt his cheeks color red a bit, being in Yoo Han’s presence suddenly made him shy. He felt even more nervous when Yoo Han squeezed his hand a little.
Yoo Han used his free hand to gently stroke Yeon Woo’s cheek. “Your lips are brilliant shade of red, like the color of a rose, my Yeon Woo,” Yoo Han suddenly said. He traced Yeon Woo’s bottom lip with his thumb, his eyes dropping down to stare at the other’s lips.
Yeon Woo was about ready to flee. Where was this going?
Yoo Han looked back up at his mono. “Can I kiss you, Yeon Woo?” he boldly requested. Yeon Woo couldn’t believe his ears. “What?” he sputtered out. Yoo Han smiled a little, “Your lips, can I kiss them?” he requested again.
Yeon Woo’s first instinct was to shove Yoo Han away and run for his life, but he shoved that plan back down in the back of his head as he took in Yoo Han’s expression. The other stared at him softly but intense. His eyes seemed to be glowing and continuously changing shades. His dark brows were furrowed just a little. He bit his own bottom lip nervously.
Yeon Woo fixed his eyes on Yoo Han’s lips too. They were a deep red, almost like he was wearing lipstick. ‘Pretty’ he thought as he said aloud, “I’ve never done it before.”
Yoo Han continued to stroked Yeon Woo’s full bottom lip, never breaking eye contact. “It’s OK. Let me teach you,” Yoo Han told him. His hand left Yeon Woo’s face in favor of gently gripping the back of his mono’s neck. Yeon Woo gulped as he was slowly pulled in closer and closer.
He felt Yoo Han’s silky lips press against his. He looked up to see that Yoo Han had shut his eyes so he followed suit. At first he didn’t know what to focus on. The hand clinging to his neck? The other one squeezing his hand tightly? The way Yoo Han’s messy fringe tickled his nose.
He felt Yoo Han’s tongue bump against his lips before disappearing back into the probe’s mouth.
He decided to focus on all of that plus the warmth he felt growing inside his chest. He felt a burning as if he’d just been shocked. He liked it. He liked all of it. He felt empowered. He pushed his lips back against Yoo Han’s, returning the kiss. He let his free hand snake up and fist in Yoo Han’s black hoodie.
Yeon Woo felt Yoo Han’s tongue brush against his lips again. He wasn’t ready for all of that action yet, but he didn’t want Yoo Han to think it wasn’t in the cards someday. He clenched Yoo Han’s hoodie tighter and ran his tongue over the other’s lips in return.
His eyes popped open when he felt Yoo Han slowly pull away. He felt a little disappointed, he didn’t want the kiss to end. They stared at each other again. Yeon Woo’s courage was faded all too quickly. Yoo Han’s gaze was intimidating sometimes.
“You taste sweet, like strawberry ice cream,” Yoo Han informed him.
Yeon woo didn’t know how to reply to that so he chose to remain quiet. Yoo Han gripped his mono’s chin and tilted his head up so he could look into his eyes better.
“I took your first kiss, my Yeon Woo,” he said through a grin, “and gave you mine in return.”
To say he was shocked was an understatement. “Your first?” he queried with wide eyes and raised brows. He was so sure that his handsome idol-trainee-all-around-popular probe had more experience then he did.
Yoo Han laughed and nodded. “It’s always belonged to you, Yeon Woo, just like me.”
Oh it was so cheesy of him to say...and with a straight face too...so why were Yeon Woo’s cheeks and ears so hot? Yoo Han laughed again and waggled his brows at his mono.
“If you’d like...we can be each other’s firsts for something else,” he suggested. And just like that the moment was ruined. Yeon Woo rolled his eyes and pulled his hands free.
“I think you’ve lost your mind, Go Yoo Han.”

What I Watched This Week: February 16-23 (*Spoilers*)
Hello friends!
I am starting a new thing, where I will be writing reactions for the kdramas I watch every week. I try to avoid watching completed shows because I often just end up binge-watching them and so I only watching ongoing shows during the semester. However, this means that I have to wait nearly two months to write my reviews and analyses. Therefore, I am starting this new writing project. I hope you all will enjoy reading them!
Sisyphus: The Myth ( Thursdays and Fridays): This past week, I watched the first and second episodes of Sisyphus. Sisyphus stars Park Shin Hye and Cho Seung Woo, where the latter plays Han Tae Sul, an engineer and CEO of the successful company, Quantum and Time. On the other Park Shin Hye, plays the character, Kang Seo Hae, a mysterious young woman, that appears to have time travelled to warn Han Tae Sul. Its been a long time since I watched an action focused sci fi kdrama as I've been riding the rom-com wave for a while, but I was super excited to see Park Shin Hye in a drama. Park Shin Hye, was the first kdrama actress that I was introduced to, and my first kdrama was Doctors. However, this is my first Cho Seung Woo drama. So far, Sisyphus seems super interesting and after watching the first two episodes, I was left with many questions, especially surrounding Tae Sul's brother and why Seo Hae wants to meet Tae Sul ( it looks like they get married or atleast have a wedding, but I want to know more about the specifics about their relationship). Sisyphus has great potential as show. The only concern I have is that the plot may get too convoluted and become hard to follow along. Other similar dramas like The King Eternal Monarch seemed to fall into this trap.
Tumblr media
Vincenzo (Saturdays and Sundays) : I also watched the first two episodes of Vincenzo starring Song Joong Ki, Jeon Yeo Been, Ok Taec Yeon, and Yoo Jae Myung. This is the second kdrama that I am watching Song Joong Ki in. The first one was the blockbuster hit "Descendants of The Sun", which starred him and his ex-wife Song Hye Kyo. After Descendants of The Sun, I spent a couple of months, obsessing over Song Joong Ki and was disappointed when I couldn't really commit to watching Arthdal Chronicles. Regardless, I absolutely LOVED the first two episodes of Vincenzo. Before watching Vincenzo, I did not know that it was a dark comedy, and thought it was a thriller, but the comedy in this show is top notch. Its hilarious seeing this dichotomy that exists with Song Joong Ki's Vincenzo Cassano. Vincenzo's the man that doesn't flinch when it comes to pulling the trigger, and yet, you see him on the brink of tears and frustration when the dry cleaners damage his vintage Italian suit. Also, though I initially watched this show for Vincenzo, Hong Cha Yeon stole my heart. She is spunky, hilarious, dramatic, and brilliant. Her character reminds me a lot of Jun Ji Hyun's Cheon Song Yi from My Love From The Star. My only concern with this drama is how reduced Ok Taec Yeon's role is. Ok Taec Yeon is a talented actor, who has succesfully acted in leading roles. Therefore, I found it disappointing to see him reduced as simply playing the dumb intern that exists for comic relief. I hope his character is more flushed out in future episodes!
Tumblr media
She Would Never Know ( Mondays and Tuesdays): Finally, I watched Episodes 11 and 12 of She Would Never Know starring Won Jin Ah and Ro Woon. I didn't realize till today how far along I came with watching this show. I haven't been able to be as committed to watching She Would Never Know because it is not available on any mainstream streaming sites for free. Therefore, I have resorted to watching the show on Kiss Asian and the pop-up ads have been annoying. Regardless, She Would Never Know is definitely one of those slow burn dramas that don't make an immediate impact, but they grow on you over time. Cha Hyun Seung and Yoon Song Ah are finally in a relationship and I am here for the fluff! I also love how the show still manages to focus on their professional lives. I find the inner workings and conflicts that come with working for a major cosmetics company. I also am looking forward to seeing how the LGBTQI+ storyline with Cha Hyun Seung’s sister will play out and how Lee Jae Shin’s relationship with Hyo Joo will unfold. Hyo Joo is unfortunately a stereotypical kdrama character, who resorts to playing the unhinged crazy possessive girlfriend, who refuses to move on. At this point, Hyo Joo needs a therapist more than anything and I hope there is a redemption arc for her character. Also, I wish the show would go more into why she’s so hell bent on marrying Lee Jae Shin even though he’s from a lower social class and is frankly not attracted to her. Regardless, I want to give a special shout out to Ha-Eun she’s such a precious character! She really be out here giving better relationship advice than most adults.

mask was a pretty fun melodrama! i don’t go for them generally but every so often a melo is a good time. full disclosure i started watching for ju ji-hoon and yeah he was great ofc but as soon as i realised yeon jung-hoon was in it? as the villain?? i’m sorry but it became the suk-hoon show. i fell in love with him in possessed, what can i say
it took about 2 minutes into episode 1 for me to understand this drama would be insane
bt why did it feel so dated when it was made in 2015? i think it’s that rich ppls houses in these dramas always look like they’re from like 2008 no matter when they were made
poor min-woo. what a family!! dude’s traumatised from childhood, has ocd, gets repeatedly drugged, is hypnotised into thinking he attempted murder, suk-hoon aka satan keeps trying to kill and/or section him...has any character ever needed a hug more
loved his suit collection though. ju ji-hoon can wear a suit
suk-hoon my beloved. i know i should hate him but i love yeon jung-hoon being evil too much, it’s fantastic i smiled whenever he appeared he’s SO GOOD.
loved how he was behind every single bad thing that happened and EVERY TIME the dad’s like “how on earth did this happen” and suk-hoon’s like “hmm yes i’ll thoroughly investigate” and then does nothing lmao
all his clever machinations were impressive up until the end when min-woo revealed everything and he had no plan? he literally just. flipped the table and ran like
Tumblr media
ahhh but when mi-yun asked suk-hoon to lie one last time that he loved her and he was like “i never loved you! i used you!” i actually winced. pure EVIL right there that was so COLD no wonder she walked off a cliff
and yet…..when he changed his mind (too late) and then...that scene at her funeral…i STILL teared up for him. yeon jung-hoon’s power, honestly. (also? his prison hair 👀💯)
what a lovely final scene! my heart. min-woo happy was all i wanted so it was perfect. couldn’t have asked for a nicer ending, tbh
in conclusion:

Tough Nut To Crack
Episode 14
Yoo Ji was informed that they wouldn't be attending the dinner, but rather they would sit in another room, and one of the secretaries was going to answer the questions. Yoo Ji rolled her eyes, so she couldn't get any dirt, this was going to be a very controlled press conference
An hour and a half pass and almost all the reporters have given up on getting any details on whether the representatives are going to come to an agreement on the separated families in their regions. Yoo Ji watched as the journalists fired away the questions and the secretary dodged the question and answered vaguely. Yoo Ji was planning on putting him on the spot so at least she can get an unplanned reaction to a slip-up. Before she raised her hand to ask the question, she felt her phone going, she sighed and silently left the room.
“Hello?”
“Where are you? I am coming to pick you up, something happened to Shi Jin” Gwang Nam’s voice was unstable, Yoo Ji could feel his panic as it seeped into her skin. The words he said finally registered.
“What happened?” Yoo Ji asked as she ran down the hallway to get to the main entrance.
“He got shot, he’s already at Haesung”
“Ok, I am coming down, I’ll send you the address” she hung up as she went into the elevator, it would lead her to the parking levels. Soon she reached the ground floor and the doors opened.
Yoo Ji was shocked but not surprised, Gwang Nam was standing with Cheol Ho talking to the Lieutenant Colonel. He glanced to the side, he did a double-take when he recognized Yoo Ji.
Yoo Ji ran over and tackled him into a hug, it made Cheol Ho smile softly before turning to the Lieutenant Colonel who looked uncomfortable and questioning. Cheol Ho leaned over and whispered an explanation.
“Reporter Mun and First Sergeant Lim are dating now” Cheol Ho informed his superior, he nodded and looked at them with slight distaste.
Woo Geun diverted the Lieutenant Colonel’s attention with updates on the condition of the victim.
“I just got a call from the hospital. The surgery on Senior Lieutenant Ahn just finished earlier.” Woo Geun’s eyes darted to Yoo Ji’s figure as she clung to his colleague, he mentally smiled but also understood how bad the situation would seem to Yoo Ji.
“I am fine” Gwang Nam mumbled into Yoo Ji’s neck, he had his arms wrapped around her as she hugged him tightly. Her feet aren't touching the floor since she basically jumped into him. He set her down, and finally looked at her face up close. She had worry lines on her forehead and she was biting her lip.
“What are you doing here?” Gwang Nam asked.
“The political dinner between South Korea and North Korea is on the 6th floor” Yoo Ji responded, she was finally feeling her panic subside but her worry was still there.
“What are you doing here?” Yoo Ji asked.
“Work” he answered abruptly, Yoo Ji nodded, she didn't question it further than that.
“Let’s go, Shi Jin should be awake by now,” Gwang Nam said as he bid his boss and Cheol Ho goodbye and they walked the car they came in with. Cheol Ho and Woo Geun had to stay behind to finish some more interviews and debriefing for the case.
“How fatal is the wound?” Yoo Ji asked as she got into the car.
“I am not sure, at first glance it looked bad, multiple gunshot wounds but Mo Yeon called Dae Young and told him that Shi Jin is awake and is fine”
“Were you close to the shooting?” Yoo Ji bit her lip, she knew that this might be sensitive information but her curiosity got the best of her.
“No, I was a long-range scout, Dae Young asked for assistance and that's when I found out” Gwang Nam responded as he pulled out from the parking lot, he had revealed too much information which is frowned upon but he felt the need to assure her that he was safe.
Yoo Ji nodded in response and looked out the window. She picked at her nails and bit her lip as she continued to think about Mo Yeon.
“Which hospital did he get transferred to?” Yoo Ji intertwined her fingers, she tried to stop herself from wallowing in anxiety.
“Haesung hospital” Gwang Nam responded as he laced his free hand with hers to give her a small comforting squeeze.
“Are you serious? Mo Yeon would’ve had a heart attack” Yoo Ji sucked her teeth, cringing at the image of a horror-stricken Mo Yeon.
“He’s fine, Mo Yeon sounds more pissed than anything” Gwang Nam replied. Yoo Ji was so into her head she didn't notice that they had arrived.
“That's her way of concealing that she was terrified” Yoo Ji closed the door as she told Gwang Nam.
“Well, it's a good thing he survived to help ease that '' Gwang Nam extended his hand so that she could grab it while he locked the car. Yoo Ji slowly felt her anxiety calm down and disappear into the depth of her mind.
“You guys need to be more careful” Yoo Ji reminded him.
“What happened to ‘Mun I-do-what-I-want Yoo Ji’? He teased. They made their way to the elevator to reach the floor Shi Jin and the North Korean Lieutenant were staying on.
Yoo Ji never had the chance to refute because they reached their destination. Yoo Ji could only roll her eyes and give him an uneasy smile.
They reached the room Shi Jin stayed at, as they walked in they heard Mo Yeon’s voice.
“Besides that patient, there is another patient whose life was just saved.” she scolded.
“I guess that patient just sees me as a doctor.” she continued. Yoo Ji breathed out a laugh as she felt herself completely relax. Mo Yeon’s attention snapped to Yoo Ji and Gwang Nam.
“Looks like everything is fine” Yoo Ji teased as she smiled at Mo Yeon who sighed in relief. Mo Yeon went to greet them.
“He’s going to be the death of me” Mo Yeon murmured as she rested her forehead on Yoo Ji’s shoulder. Yoo Ji laughed and rubbed her back.
“It’s okay, I freaked out too”
“It's not that big of a deal” Shi Jin tried to wave off when both girls looked at him with a hard glare.
“An hour ago, this doctor crossed hell after seeing her boyfriend wheeled into the emergency room for a cardiac arrest.”
“I am sorry.” Shi Jin lowered his eyes. Gwang Nam straightened his posture when he heard Mo Yeon mention a cardiac arrest,
“Is that all? How about an explanation? You don't have it this time either?” Mo Yeon’s cold tone cut through the air. Gwang Nam made eye contact with Yoo Ji, she seemed to be in as much shock as he was.
“Aren't you curious if I am okay?” Mo Yeon shook her head, her anger slowly returning.
“Even though you're affectionately asking about that friend whom you're not even that close to?” Mo Yeon mentions, this grabs Yoo Ji’s attention. Yoo Ji looked at the captain curiously, what happened that made him so reckless.
“Just you get better because I will kill you.” Mo Yeon threatened. A moment later, she sighed, all anger draining out of her and Mo Yeon just looked resigned. She pulled out a small container, Yoo Ji almost missed it if she wasn't watching the couple like a hawk.
“Maybe I shouldn't give this to you either.” she was about to hand him a container. But before she could explain what was in it, the door opened and a nurse and Chi Hoon rolled in Lieutenant Ahn followed by two men in suits. Mo Yeon pocketed the container again.
Yoo Ji watched as they wheeled the unconscious soldier next to Shi Jin’s bed. She looked at Gwang Nam and raised an eyebrow, he shrugged. Chi Hoon and the nurse excused themselves.
“Power of unity.” Dae Young said as he and Woo Geun arrived, Yoo Ji suspected it didn't take long to debrief as they had limited information.
“From this point on, I will control this patient's room. We will put an access restriction on medical personnel as well.” Dae Young informed Mo Yeon, Dae Young didn't reveal anything more than what he said. Yoo Ji mentally groaned these men are so hard to get information out of indirectly and directly. Yoo Ji wondered why they needed to restrict the area so much when one of their own is in the same room as the North Korean.
“We ask for your cooperation.” Mo Yeon nodded and excused herself to check on another patient. Dae Young moved his eyes to Yoo Ji but his expression was blank.
“I know, I’ll leave by myself, no need to escort me” Yoo Ji waved off before he said anything. Restricted access was especially for reporters trying to get information and she was a reporter.
“Feel better, but if you scare us again, I’ll kill you” Yoo Ji smiled at Shi Jin and gave him a side hug as she threatened him.
“First Sergeant Lim, you're on guard duty starting 1400” Dae Young informed Gwang Nam. he nodded and followed Yoo Ji out.
“I’ll be in the cafeteria if you need me,” Gwang Nam told Dae Young as he closed the door. Cheol Ho was standing guard outside the door, Gwang Nam nodded at him and followed Yoo Ji to the elevator to head down to the cafeteria.
“Have you had lunch?” Gwang Nam asked.
“Not really, I didn't have time before I was preparing for the press conference,” Yoo Ji said.
As they walked through the lobby they saw Chi Hoon, the nurse from before, and another doctor. Yoo Ji knew her from her times hanging out at the hospital, Kim Eun Ji was rude and underqualified to be a doctor, she just had many connections to higher-ups that she got her professorship.
“There's a rumor going around that the patient is a North Korean soldier.” the nurse said.
“But can we treat a North Korean person?” Eun Ji questioned.
“Of course, we should. He's injured. We took an oath.” Chi Hoon responded, typing on the computer. Yoo Ji raised an eyebrow, oh she has to listen to this conversation. She grabbed Gwang Nam’s hand and steered him towards the desk instead of the cafeteria. Gwang Nam asked where they were going but Yoo Ji just shrugged and told him they still had a few hours before he started his shift.
“I have to listen to this” Gwang Nam rolled his eyes but smiled, her tendency to sneak and eavesdrop made him worry but also laugh at how easily she is distracted by it. Gwang Nam was surprised when they didn't hide and instead went to greet Chi Hoon.
The doctor ignored Yoo Ji but her eyes focused slightly on Gwang Nam. Yoo Ji could tell she was zeroing in on her victim, she mentally cackled. Kim Eun Ji faked disinterest and continued her conversation with Chi Hoon.
“Aren't you scared? He even came in all bloodied from gunshot wounds. It wasn't because he got drunk in the broad daylight and hit himself on a billboard.”
“We saw even worse things in Urk.” Chi Hoon greeted Yoo Ji and Gwang Nam back and turned to his computer nonchalantly.
“All the soldiers blocked at gunpoint.” Chi Hoon added, looking at Eun Ji with unwavering eye contact. He didn't glance at Gwang Nam as he mentioned the soldiers, since you know, he was one of them and they weren't allowed to bring it up to other civilians. Yoo Ji peeked at Gwang Nam’s reaction, he had a very neutral face, she mused, he was trained well. She wasn't surprised but she was amused because Chi Hoon stood up and mimed a gun pointing at Eun Ji.
“Going, "power of unity" and "power of unity" while the guns are "click-click" loading.”
“‘Hands off. If you move, we'll shoot.’” he repeated the words of the Arabian president’s guard. Yoo Ji smiled in amusement, while Gwang Nam was trying to hide his chuckle.
“You're lying! Where do you think you're selling medicine?” Eun Ji scoffed and rolled her eyes. Yoo Ji narrowed her eyes.
“He’s not lying,” she stated while looking her straight in the eyes.
“I'd like to give it a whack.” Nurse Ha joined their conversation, glaring at Eun Ji while setting her tray down on the counter.
As Yoo Ji was going to add something to the conversation, she was cut off by Doctor Sang Hyun’s shout for Nurse Ha, as he slowed his run to a jog he pushed Eun Ji aside to get to Nurse Ha. Gwang Nam and Yoo Ji had to stifle their laughs at how offended the girl was. Eun Ji huffed and left to stand a little further away.
“I heard you were held hostage. Are you okay? Did you get hurt?” he fretted over the nurse. Nurse Ha rolled her eyes and shook him off.
“Where is that punk? I'm going to kill him halfway!” he threatened, but it was like a mouse threatening a lion, harmless.
“Dr. Song is bringing him back to life from being half dead.” Nurse Jae Ae informed him with a deadpan tone.
“The patient I operated on was him?” Doctor Song dropped his dramatics and loud volume as well. He asked with his eyebrows furrowed as if he really didn't know about that, which he didn't.
“Ow, Heo Jun. (Most famous physician during Joseon period) Ow, Schweitzer. (Dr. Albert Schweitzer)” Sang Hyun slapped both of his cheeks then held them as he whined, Nurse Ha scoffed softly and patted his head.
“Why didn't you react like that when I got kidnapped?” Yoo Ji teased Gwang Nam, she kept her voice low so only he could hear her. Gwang Nam raised an eyebrow.
“Because you had them at gunpoint. You didn't even need me to rescue you!” he said with a tone of disbelief.
“You’re right but it would’ve been nice” Yoo Ji responded, grinning at the tall man beside her.
“I thought you didn't want someone to fawn over you, you said you wanted ‘a cool and casual romance’” Gwang Nam pointed out. Yoo Ji chuckled, she did say that to him at some point.
“Yes but this was then when every step we took was dangerous and we were living on the edge, but now that would be nice, we're back to domesticity.” Yoo Ji sarcastically explained. Gwang Nam laughed, wrapping an arm around her as he leaned to kiss the top of her head. They started to finally head back to the cafeteria.
“Alright, I will become what you wish, including the protective boyfriend if we meet your ex-boyfriend” Gwang Nam smirked, while Yoo Ji shook her head at his cheekiness. Immediately, as if God was waiting for Gwang Nam to say that, Yoo Ji recognized Min Yoon Gi. as in the Min Yoon Gi that made all three military men planning his murder. Yoo Ji’s eyes widened, she grabbed Gwang Nam’s arm and tried to steer him away from that direction.
“You still have a few hours before your shift, let's go out to eat.” Yoo Ji excused her as she tried to get him out of the cafeteria as fast as she could before Yoon Gi recognized her.
“I don't have that long to be able to leave and come back, I only have an hour,” Gwang Nam said, looking at his watch. Gwang Nam was very confused about why his girlfriend was dragging him out of the hospital so adamantly until he heard a man’s voice call her name.
“Mun Yoo Ji!” Yoo Ji cringed, slowly turning around to acknowledge the man she was trying to escape.
“It’s been a while!” the man said, smiling at Yoo Ji and Gwang Nam.
“It has, how have you been...Yoon Gi?” Yoo Ji tried to smile but it looked more like a grimace. Gwang Nam finally understood why she was acting so weird. He started chuckling at the irony. This is her ex-boyfriend, the one they were talking about in Urk. He had mixed feelings, he didn't know whether to be protective like he was joking or to smirk in the satisfaction that he looked much better in all aspects than her ex-boyfriend. He eventually relaxed and wrapped an arm around Yoo Ji with a lazy smile on his lips. He could feel the tension in Yoo Ji’s shoulders.
“Uh… Yoon Gi this is Gwang Nam; my boyfriend, Gwang Nam this is Yoon Gi, Mo Yeon, and Myung Ju’s classmate” Yoo Ji introduced.
“Hello, nice to meet you” Yoon Gi smiled politely, extending his hand for him to shake.
“Likewise” Gwang Nam curtly but still politely responded, shaking his outreached hand. Gwang Nam made sure to squeeze a little harder than normal, just to deliver a message; I know you more than you know me. This of course didn't slip from Yoo Ji. she chuckled awkwardly and gripped Gwang Nam’s arm to make him let go.
“Well, it was great to see you again! But we both have an appointment so we have to go” Yoo Ji excused. She nodded her head at the man and smiled before she pulled Gwang Nam away from her ex-boyfriend, breaking the weird staring contest they were engaged in.
“I had nothing to worry about,” Gwang Nam said after they were a good distance away from the man.
“What do you mean?” Yoo Ji asked, scrunching her nose.
“He’ll be easy to dispose of” was his only reply to her question. Yoo Ji shook her head and hit his arm.
“You are not assassinating him!” Yoo Ji whisper-yelled at him, although her tone told him that she was joking around like he was.
“He needs to become important enough to be assassinated, we’ll stick to disposing”
“Who are you going to kill?” Mo Yeon asked as they reached the hallway which Gwang Nam needed to guard in ten minutes.
“We met Min Yoon Gi at the cafeteria so we never got lunch.” Yoo Ji grumbled.
“Why is he here?” Yoo Ji asked Mo Yeon with narrowed eyes.
“He does work here,” Mo Yeon said, cringing as her eyes pivoted to Shi Jin’s room.
“What? Since when?” Yoo Ji’s jaw slightly slacked.
“I am not sure, I think he got transferred before we came back from Urk” Mo Yeon fidgeted with her fingers.
All of their attention gets diverted when the Chairman makes an appearance with his secretary. Gwang Nam takes a straight stand and stands in the middle of the hallway.  Cheol Ho behind him taking a similar stance.
“Move aside.” the Chairman stated, “I said to move! How many hospitals are there in Gangnam that you have to raise such a fuss at Haesung Hospital? Especially at the most expensive hospital!” he ended up yelling and totally losing his cool, but then again the Chairman was never known as a collected man in times of trouble.
“We are carrying out official government business. We ask for your cooperation.” Gwang Nam responded with a blank expression, but Yoo Ji could tell there was annoyance in his eyes.
“This is the document that the army sent.” the Chairman’s secretary pulled out the piece of paper from his folder. Yoo Ji raised an eyebrow when the Chairman didn't take it.
“It's being done out of order!” he turned and gritted his teeth at the other man. The Chairman turned to Mo Yeon and huffed.
“Who on earth is Dr. Kang's boyfriend that they are doing official duty just because he is injured? And what about the man who was brought in with him?!”
“Did the two of them fight? Who won?” he asked, looking curious.
“I am not sure” Mo Yeon nervously let out a soft laugh to try to ease the tension between the two men.
“Ah, he lost. He lost. I can see he lost. Who hasn't been to the army, saying he can fight.” the Chairman interrupted her while waving his hand around. He sounded so proud of himself. Yoo Ji mentally snorted, the Chairman only got his position because of family, if he didn't have that he would never be qualified for that position, he was too gossipy and had a very sensitive ego. Although, Yoo Ji guesses that men in power usually have sensitive egos and very short tempers.
“You were in the army?” his secretary asked, surprised. Yoo Ji had to stifle her chuckle.
“What do you take me for?”
“The exempt” Yoo Ji had to chuckle at that, the Chairman glared at her. She shrugged her shoulders, he could not fire her, she didn't work for him.
“Keep Silent, please” Gwang Nam sighed as the quarreling men’s voices got louder.
“You keep the silence. This is my hospital,” he shouted at the end. Yoo Ji was surprised at how much shouting he’s doing considering how close the VIP Ward is, if one of his important patients came out to see what was causing such ruckus, he would kneel on the ground and apologize for disturbing them. Yoo Ji mentally rolled her eyes, he really doesn't learn, she’s already seen him do that before.
“You should take responsibility and settle this.” he pointed at Mo Yeon, who looked shocked and then pointed at herself.
“Be it as a guardian or as the physician in charge.” she didn't say anything, she just nodded and bowed as he left. He stopped and turned around again, this time his gaze aimed at Yoo Ji.
“I will get you banned from this hospital grounds next time you decide to tell people that I have illegitimate children” he growled out, glaring at her. Yoo Ji tipped her imaginary hat and flashed him a grin.
“Noted.”
A few days later, Yoo Ji was visiting Mo Yeon at the hospital when she was able to sneak past the soldiers posted in front of Shi Jin’s room. She was about to greet him but a quick look at his surprise and panic told her that the room was bugged. She signaled Shi Jin that she understood and stood by the window, further away from the foreign patient. She had to admit it was tempting to try to figure out what his deal was, but she knew that it wasn't her place. Mo Yeon walked in, she looked surprised and was about to ask how Yoo Ji got in but a quick shake of Yoo Ji’s head and a ‘sh’ from Shi Jin told her that no one should know about her being inside.
But that quickly changed when Gwang Nam stepped into the room and raised an eyebrow at his girlfriend. Yoo Ji sighed in defeat and started making her way to the door but Gwang Nam held her arm and told her quietly that she can stay as long as she doesn’t speak about this.
Mo Yeon was doing routine checks on the Lieutenant and talking with him, well more like talking to him since he still gave no responses. Knowing Mo Yeon, she was probably scolding him for his injuries.
“There's also another person like that here in the South.” she continued, “That person who has his senses elsewhere.” she glanced back at Shi Jin who looked more interested in his covers than her gaze. Gwang Nam and Yoo Ji looked at them with amusement. Gwang Nam has come to stand next to Yoo Ji while they watch the interaction between the couple
“And I wasn't going to say this...That soldier guy that we saw in Urk.”
“Who are you talking about?” Shi Jin tilted his head in confusion.
“You know the one that chewed me out for performing surgery on the dying patient, that rockfish-looking mister who put you in punishment.” Yoo Ji’s eyes widened as Mo Yeon kept talking and insulting their Lieutenant Park Byung Soo.
“I saw earlier how he was asking our medical staff this and that about injection drugs and pills. Are we his subordinates or something?”  Yoo Ji grabbed onto Gwang Nam’s arm and buried her face into his shoulder to stop herself from laughing so hard. The room was bugged and she had no doubt that Lieutenant Park Byung Soo was listening to Mo Yeon rant on how rude he is. Yoo Ji glanced at Gwang Nam and found him trying to conceal a smile.
“Why does he treat us whichever way he pleases…”  Shi Jin swiftly got up and pressed his hand onto her mouth. He gestured for her to stay quiet. Shi Jin then took her pen from her coat pocket and started scribbling on her hand something. Yoo Ji would guess he’s telling her that the room was bugged. She mouthed the words ‘what do I do?’ and Shi Jin told her to keep talking. Mo Yeon looked at Yoo Ji and Gwang Nam were their panic in her eyes. Yoo Ji smiled in encouragement but she felt tears because of the strain of control she has to have right now.
“So what I mean is that the soldier guy probably knows what's going on by now, right?” she sounded incredibly loud. Yoo Ji shook her head and realized that the Lieutenant will probably head their way any time now. She tugged onto Gwang Nam’s arm and told him she had to go. She kissed his cheek and waved goodbye to the couple.
“He probably knows that I am so glad to see him.” was the last thing she heard Mo Yeon sputter out.
Later on that week, Yoo Ji went back to the hospital to talk to Mo Yeon, she needed the medical records of the victim again. Something was fishy, either, the profiling was off or the suspects had split personality order. These people don't behave suspiciously at all, the parents are mourning quietly but still living their lives, the sister seems to have always been jittery and anxious even when her brother was alive so there's no change in her behavior. As for the cousin, Yoo Ji knows he’s committing insurance fraud but she has no idea how he murdered the victim. He fits the profile of fraud but not a murderer.
As she exited the elevator, she saw the hallway was a mess. She managed to grab Cheol Ho as he passed her but didn't notice her.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“The foreigner tried to escape last night” he hurried down the stairs. Yoo Ji was confused about how he managed to even leave his bed. When she was in the room the last couple of days he was handcuffed to the sickbed.
Yoo Ji went to knock on the door but one of the guards stopped her.
“The North Korean is gone, you have no reason to keep this room unavailable. I am here to see my friend” she dismissed him. The guard knew she was right but he was instructed to keep everyone out to preserve the ‘crime scene’.
“Do you know what a hard time the Chairman is giving me asking who broke that?” Mo Yeon scolded Shi Jin. Yoo Ji’s eyes gravitated to the gaping hole in the window. It was letting in a nice breeze, different from the smell of disinfectant.
“Where is the chairman? Why is he recklessly holding on to someone else's woman? ” Shi Jin asked with a serious face.
“In his office, if you plan to ‘talk’,” Yoo Ji interrupted them while setting down her bag, and smiling at Mo Yeon.
“Because my boyfriend got admitted to the hospital with a North Korean soldier.” she shut him down pretty quickly. Mo Yeon turned to Yoo Ji and raised an eyebrow.
“Yes,” he responded, sounding defeated.
“What did you need?”
“I need Lee Eun Ki’s medical records,” Yoo Ji asked, putting on her best innocent face that she can muster.
“You already got them before, why do you need them again?” Mo Yeon questioned.
“I think I missed something, the murder doesn’t fit either of the suspects and we have no other leads,” Yoo Ji said with a hint of desperation, this case was taking too long, Yoo Ji can’t wait until she is done with it. It’s going to be a bomb-ass article that’s for sure.
“I don't know where to do with either of you” Mo Yeon sighed as she went to the computer in the corner of the room and pulled out the medical records. Yoo JI looked at it again, squinting her eyes. Name, age, height, blah blah, illnesses, and diseases; congenital defect, broken bones, and hospital visits. Yoo Ji huffed and ran her hand in her hair.
“Mo Yeon, what counts as a congenital disorder? Usually, they identify it but they didn't include it,” Yoo Ji asked.
“We haven't researched all the congenital disorders, so they probably just classified it under congenital disorder without knowing specifically what the side effects are” Mo Yeon leaned towards the computer from behind Yoo Ji.
“The patient didn't exhibit any side effects, maybe they misdiagnosed” she shrugged.
Mo Yeon’s phone started ringing, she looked at it and sighed, she turned around and addressed Shi Jin, who was just watching Mo Yeon talk to Yoo Ji about the victim.
“I'll be back in two hours, so finish getting the IV and just wait. Try running away somewhere...” Mo Yeon lightly threatens. Shi Jin nodded obediently. Yoo Ji raised an eyebrow. Mo Yeon left and immediately Shi Jin asked her when she was going to leave.
“You're going to do something illegal, aren't you?” she questioned.
“No, I am not going to do something illegal” he got his phone and looked at it. A few minutes later Gwang Nam walked in and looked at Yoo Ji with a smile.
“Alright, I get it. you didn't need to text him to come to get me out, whatever you're going to do, just don't get caught or killed. And tell me the details that you can later” Yoo Ji sighed and collected her bag and made her way to the door.
“As payback for my silence”, she opened the door and waved at them.
Gwang Nam caught up with Yoo Ji outside of the room. “Hey, wait up”
“Hm? I thought you were staying,” Yoo Ji responded, waiting for him to catch up to her.
“I can still walk you to your car.” he offered, Yoo Ji smiled and resumed walking again.
“How’s the case going?” Gwang Nam asked.
“It's going fine, were tailing two suspects, we have an idea of what the motive might be but it’s not all clear just yet”
“What do you mean? Something is not adding up?”
“Yeah, both our suspects don’t fit in the profile of how the murder happened, so either there’s a missing link or there’s a third suspect that was totally missing” Yoo Ji filled him in on the gist of what’s happening right now. Rae Wook and Hwa Dong were tailing the sister of the victim and the cousin respectively. Yoo Ji just had to find the motive and link it back to the murder.
“How did the victim die?” Gwang Nam asked as they got into the elevator.
“Blunt force trauma to the back of the head. No defensive wounds, only a couple on his hand but they were old and have no significance to the case.” she dismissed the small detail.
“So he knew his attacker then?”
“Yeah, but that doesn't mean anything, both our suspects are related to him. Eun Yong is too meek and cowardly to hit him, and Young Won is an M.E. who has no history of violence” Yoo Ji paused, biting her lip, she watched as the numbers went down as they descended level by level.
“The victim is much stronger than his cousin, so I doubt it was the cousin” Yoo Ji groaned.
“I think there is something I am missing”
“Maybe the victim had a heart attack and tripped and hit his head” Gwang Nam joked lightly, trying to ease Yoo Ji. Yoo Ji paused her lip biting and looked at Gwang Nam with a new light.
“Actually… you might be right. I have to check something” Yoo Ji pulled out her phone and dialed Hwa Dong. Yoo Ji bid Gwang Nam goodbye again and told him she’ll call him if anything happens.
“Hello?” his voice called out as Yoo Ji got into her car.
“I think I found the connection between the insurance fraud and the murder”
“And what would that be?”
“Do you have visuals of the two suspects?” Yoo Ji went out to the bus stop in front of the hospital and waited for the next ride.
“Yes. What’s wrong? What did you find out?” Hwa Dong asked.
“The murder was an accident, I’ll tell you the details when I arrive, make the arrest for insurance fraud and accidental murder” she hung up and scanned her bus pass as she went to the police station.
The North Korean soldier is back with the secretary of state. The secretary opens the window and there's a sniper positioned to shoot the NK soldier in the heart. The lieutenant lunges at the secretary of state and gets shot at in a long rage. The secretary goes to meet the representative from South Korea and he gets arrested on his way out. It turns out that Lieutenant An and Shi Jin (including the Alpha team) conspired against the secretary of state and took over the snipers and were able to save Lieutenant An and found the password to the micro USB. Shi Jin scrambles to go back to the hospital before Doctor Kang finds out he left.
Yoo Ji was in the lobby talking with Doctor Song and Nurse Ha when she saw Myung Ju leaving the elevator when Myung Ju pivoted and hid behind a wall. Yoo Ji raised an eyebrow at her weird behavior. Yoo Ji hadn’t seen the first Lieutenant since the ’no nights and three days’ and she looks like she hasn’t had a good night's sleep. Yoo Ji was squinting, she was a little further away, but Myung Ju was pale and slumped her shoulders. Almost a minute after her eyes found Dae Young running out of the elevator looking frazzled and looking around. Yoo Ji’s eyes gravitated towards Myung Ju’s hiding spot. He stopped and turned around and stood right behind Myung Ju’s shadow.
“What do you think is happening between those two?” Nurse Ha asked leaning against the wall.
“From what I can tell...They had a fight, and First Lieutenant Yoon broke up with him. But it was for Sergeant First Class Seo's sake.” Doctor Song said cryptically.
“That’s oddly specific” Yoo Ji responded, but he seems to be right (bc the directors were laughing the background)
“That's why First Lieutenant Yoon can't lose. Because First Lieutenant Yoon is a good woman.” he continued, looking dreamily into Nurse Ha’s eyes, ignoring Yoo Ji completely. She didn't mind, she was in a good mood. She finally closed the Armadillo case and she had two days off. It was amazing breaking it down to Hwa Dong and Rae Wook.
“From what I can tell...Sergeant First Class Seo knows where First Lieutenant Yoon is hiding. He wants to hold onto her but he doesn't. He wants to hold onto her but he doesn't. Because Sergeant First Class Seo is a good man.” Nurse Ha stated, responding to Doctor Song’s deductions.
“What are you doing this evening? If nothing special, come shopping with me.” Doctor Song closed his little container of almonds while looking so serious that it made Yoo Ji chuckle at the hilariousness of it.
“What are you buying?” Nurse Ha asked. Yoo Ji laughed and waved them goodbye, she headed up to meet up with Gwang Nam.
Time skip and Mo Yeon go to hang out with Shi Jin for the night and they fall asleep watching a movie.
