Pengen nikah, tapi mahal!

“Menikah adalah nasib. Mencintai adalah takdir. Kau bisa berencana menikah dengan siapa. Tapi tak bisa kau rencanakan cintamu untuk siapa.”

Minggu kemarin adalah minggu tentang cerita romansa anak muda yg ngebet wisuda agar bisa cepat dapat kerja lalu segera menikah, ya supaya menuntaskan cita-cita membahagiakan orangtua, katanya.

Saya banyak terlibat dalam percakapan tentang pernikahan, seperti biro jodoh saja. Pertanyaan seputar ta’aruf, bolehkah menolak lelaki yg datang ke rumah, dan lain-lain. Momen ini akhirnya saya manfaatkan untuk survei berskala jurusan, kita buka survei dengan pertanyaan, “Kalian habis wisuda mau ngapain?”

Berikut hasil survei yg dilakukan BIN (Badan Intelejen Nadya) bulan Mei 2018:

Perempuan:

70% : Menikah | 10% : Bekerja |10% : Bekerja, Menikah | 5% : Menikah, S2 | 5% : Belum tahu

Laki-laki:

70% : Bekerja | 20% : S2, Bekerja | 10% : S2, Bekerja dan nikah

Hasillnya tentu sangat kontras, di satu sisi sang perempuan ingin menyegerakan, di sisi lain “aktor” nya masih belum ingin melangsungkan ibadah penyempurna setengah agama. Satu sisi, “AYOK!” Sisi lain, “NTARAN DULU AJA YAH”

Tapi, tulisan ini akan menjawab segala tanya di hati, kenapa lelaki malah belum ingin bergerak ke arah sana. Saya di sini akan mewakili suara hati para pujangga di luaran sana, kenapa ia membiarkan wanita menunggu.

Simply because, NIKAH ITU MAHAL, DEK!

Sebelumnya teman saya pernah mengeluarkan statement yg membelalakkan mata saya, “biaya nikah itu minimal 100-150 juta”, seketika itu saya langsung shocked, “MINIMAL? nikah yg begimana sebegitu mahalnya? oh mungkin mau yg di bintang 5 gitu kali ya?“. Saya yg belum tahu apa-apa soal badget pernikahan hanya mengeluarkan asumsi yg tak berdasar.

Nah, kebetulan di bulan syawal nanti inshaAllah kakak sepupu saya akan melangsungkan pernikahan. Saya pun mengikuti bagaimana persiapan beliau mulai dari catering, baju dan lain-lain. Dan, betapa terkejutnya saya bahwa ternyata badget yg dikeluarkan memanglah tidak jauh dari yg dikatakan teman saya!

Sayapun terisak dalam hati, “Ya Allah, kasihan betul calon nadya kalau harus menggelontorkan uang dengan jumlah uang sebanyak itu. Bagaimana nanti adik-adikku? Abangku? Uang sebanyak itu dihabiskan hanya untuk sehari? Uang sebanyak itu bisa dipergunakan sebagai modal usaha dan biaya hidup, ya Razzak.”

Terungkaplah segala sesak di dada kenapa lelaki membiarkan sang hawa menunggu begitu lama, karena mereka ingin bekerja menjemput nafkah untuk biaya pernikahan yg “dipaksa” semahal itu. Kenapa saya katakan “dipaksa”? Karena kebanyak pernikahan di Indonesia bukanlah pernikahan sang pengantin, melainkan pernikahan antara keluarga mempelai lelaki dan perempuan. Pernikahan berlandaskan “nanti kata orang apa”, kita saat ini hidup di atas perkataan orang lain, seakan wajib “memuaskan” mulut-mulut latah, perut-perut lapar dan lidah-lidah tak bertulang netizen yang siap melemparkan ocehan tentang apa yg kita lakukan, termasuk resepsi pernikahan. Guys, It doesn’t matter what other people think of you. All that matters is what Allah thinks of you.

Bukankah hal itu sangat melelahkan? Mau sampai kapan kita harus berdiri dari ocehan orang lain? Mending dapat memotivasi ke arah yg positif, ini malah menarik kita untuk berhutanglah, untuk berpura-puralah.

I don’t know how everyone else’s wedding dream is (maybe someday I’ll do some survey, too), but for me, a nikkah done in masjid or in own humble house with a warm, small, intimate, and simple walimah, where I can eat and do chit-chat to the closest friends and family, is waaaaay more beautiful than an extravagant wedding in a luxurious building and party.

I mean, it makes me sick to see people making line just to take picture with the bride. it seems so hard to congratulate em. ooh my God, no way!

I always get excited and happier for attending a private wedding, the guests are the closest people, without party, no music, no annoying sounds come around, so people can talk easily. Friendly wedding where I and my husband will be able to see and talk to the guest, and blending with them. Eating together, and not being separated by stage and etc etc. As simple as that, the barakah from Allah matters.

And for my wedding nanti I hope my parents are ok with me only wanting to invite a selected few friends. Tho chances are really low but seriously, I just want people who matter to be around me on that day. Small, private, intimate, and aesthetically pleasing wedding.

I want a marriage more beautiful than my wedding. Sometime, we are very good at preparing to live, but not very good at living. We know how to sacrifice years to get money for life, for nikkah, and we are willing to work very hard to get a job, a car, a house, and so on. But we have difficulty remembering that we are alive in the present moment, the only moment there is for us to be alive. So, yeah my marriage has to be best thing!

Buat, perempuan (termasuk saya) mari kita renungkan hadist ini.

“Sebaik-baik pernikahan ialah yang paling mudah.” [Shahih Abu Dawud]

“Pernikahan yang paling besar keberkahannya ialah yang paling mudah maharnya.” [Shahih Ahmad]

Murahkan maharmu, mahalkan cintamu! Cukuplah dengan 2 hadist tersebut sebagai pengingat supaya kita tidak memberatkan para lelaki yg ingin beribadah dengan kita. Pengertianlah sikit, kita edukasikan juga ke keluarga kita, bahwa the main goal dari pernikahan adalah keberkahannya, bukan mewah-mewahannya. Tapi harus tetap harus menjaga hati dan diri, kasihan si dia, sudah bekerja keras, eh kitanya malah seenak endasnya gitu.

Buat lelaki, semangat ya! Carilah yg al kafa’ah (sekufu), baik itu sepadan dalam agamanya, pendidikan, nasab dan hartanya. Kalau pendapatan kalian sebesar 3 juta per bulan, jangan menikah dengan wanita yg make-up nya saja 5 juta, makannya harus mewah setiap hari, kalau kalian belum mampu membeli rumah sendiri, jangan menikah dengan perempuan yg bulan madunya mau ke eropa. Luruskan niatnya, inshaAllah akan dibantu oleh Allah, surga aja Allah kasih masa perempuan sholeha dan biaya nikah ngga Allah beri?
