Who's that shooting across the sky? His form flickers, it glows! He's waving at you, shouting out a friendly "Hello!" It's Shimmering Sonic!!

I like the idea that any combination of emeralds that doesn't amount to all seven gives Sonic differing types of power ups and abilities. He's got more boosted power than his base form, but not as much raw power as Super Sonic proper. Maybe his differing funky abilities can help make up for it.

A Hero of the Sun

The first image is a digital drawing of Sonic the Hedgehog holding a Kingdom key blade.

Sonic is overall dark blue, with brown eyes, and peachy skin on his belly, arms, muzzle, and the inside of his ears. He has white gloves and socks, and red shoes.

The Kingdom key blade is a long silver rod, with four cuts and bits for the key part at the tip. Towards the bottom is a golden guard, that wraps around a dark colored sword grip. The bottom of the guard also serves as the sword's pommel. Then from the pommel hangs a silver chain, at the end of it is a flat charm in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head. It is also silver.

Sonic is facing the right in three fourths view. And is floating in the air a bit at an angle, you can see the the bottom of his shoes and more of the under side of his muzzle. He holds the key blade upright by the sword grip in his right hand. The cuts and bits are facing away from him. Sonic looks up at the top of the blade with wide eyes and gaping mouth. Awed by it's presence. The top of the blade and the chain with Mickey's head at the bottom shine with a minty green light.

A Sonic AU where Sonic is a Fox and Tails (Quills) is a Hedgehog!

This AU takes place several centuries after Hedgehog!Sonic and friends' adventures. I'd thought of the mural in Sonic 3 (I think?) that was a direct prophecy of a battle between Super Sonic and Eggman, and that for this AU instead, it'd be something more general. A chosen champion of the chaos emeralds that's reincarnated. And this time around the spirit of that champion reincarnated into two people, Quills, who has the mind of the champion and innate connection to the chaos emeralds, and Sonic, whom has their strength.  Together they unite, heart and soul. Trouble is coming for them, for everyone. Neither can do everything alone, and with their friends they all take down evil where it stands. I’ll say more, once I’ve got more environments and characters done.
