Now that i've watched every one piece movie that isn't a retelling of an anime arc or straw hat chase i'm gonna go ahead and indulge in the very human tendency of ranking them in order from best to worst (SPOILERS!!!!):

One Piece: Strong World. Maybe it's because this was the first movie i watched and my first experience with one piece in animation but strong world has remained my favorite since day one (though the second place is very very close i must say). The straw hats are all great and have their little moment to shine the plot is solid and they do a great job with nami, out of the four straw hats with a movie more focused on them she's by far the one that gets the best treatment. Strong world is in the perfect position of being a pre time skip movie, so it's not dragged down by the expanding cast of post time skip, but also since it was the tenth anniversary movie they put in more effort than with the previous movies and it shows. Also sanjis cowboy outfit instantly makes it top tier.

One Piece: Film Gold. I'm... kind of obsessed with this movie?? Seeing the straw hats in a heist really scratched an itch i didn't know i had but my god does it feel good. The designs really excelled here the crew looks gorgeous throughout the entire movie and tesoro's island is so interesting and fits very well in the one piece world. Tesoro is also my favorite villain of any movie, i've seen people say he's the perfect blend between crocodile and doffy and that's so true lmao. Loved having zoro as the damsell in distress, inject that shit straight into my veins i love it when the strong character is the one in need of rescue. Everyone was very cool during the heist but i remember really enjoying franky and luffy's dynamic cause lbr we're kinda starved of it in the manga so it was nice to see them interact so much here. Overall amazing movie and the only one i've rewatched out of all of them.

Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. This movie has become a cult classic amongst the fandom and with good reason. It breaks away from the loud spectacle of the other movies and is quieter and more unsettling and so far the only example of actual psychological horror in the lore. I've talked about this before but that final scene with the straw hats cheering luffy on even while they're being consumed by the baron and luffy struggling to the brink of death to save them changed me... I love seeing this family love each other so much!!

Clockwork Island Adventure. I know, I know what's the second movie doing so high up... but it was just so good!! It's very short but that's just a benefit to the plot and i love the gimmick of each straw hat being captured one by one till it's just luffy remaining and the one who has to free them (can you tell i love the movies where the straw hats are kidnapped and the others have to rescue them?? that's my drug). Sanji's fight in this movie kicks ass too, the animation is gorgeous.

One Piece: Film Red. This might seem like a sin, to have this movie so far down the list cause i've seen its pretty unanimously tied up with baron omatsuri as the best movie but to be honest i feel like that's just recency bias. The movie is still a spectacle and the songs slap and yes one of them was in the top 5 of my spotify wrapped this year lol. Uta is a good antagonist but i was never that hooked by her shared past with shanks and luffy, mainly because it's so aggressively impossible for it to be canon, it almost broke my suspension of disbelief. Zosan sleeping side by side was pleasing to my monkey brain and it almost made up for including st charlos in the movie seriously what the fuck was he doing there-

One piece: Stampede. The start of this movie is amazing cause they come up with the perfect competition to have all of these pirate crews on the same place but it quickly devolves into a "how many characters can we fit in" contest and the plot quickly turns into "lets all beat up the villain", which is fine! I did like seeing so many characters, at one point half way through the movie crocodile just appears out of nowhere lmao but hey i'm not complaining i love crocodile. Usopp is the straw hat who's focused on the most in the movie and i feel conflicted with what they did with him cause it just felt like they were making him go through his water 7 arc all over again by having his inferiority complex flaring up. And usopps arc was amazing in water 7 but reviving it for this movie felt a bit weird and repetitive. Despite this though i was very happy seeing him getting the focus, usopp is a painfully underrated character so having him on the spotlight is always welcome.

Dead End Adventure. This movie is a lot of fun. There's a bar fight, a secret pirate race and sanji being his sneaky self and helping out luffy during the final fight. Whats not to love?

One Piece: Film Z. Much like Stampede, i really enjoyed the start of this movie cause the monster trio get to briefly fight the big baddie together, but the plot kinda loses some steam for me after that. Also they tried to make the admirals sympathetic cause the villain is a retired admiral who was once their mentor but i really really really dont care about the marines at all so that was a bit awkward. The straw hats look stunning in this movie, i love that in the movies they give them a million different outfits and the ones from this one absolutely slayed.

Choppers Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals. Another fun movie where all the straw hats get a moment be cool. There's a kid on this island who i found completely insufferable but i can forgive this movie cause this is also where zosan have that famous scene where they praise the other to their defeated oponent, which made my monkey brain happy.

One Piece: The Movie. This movie's biggest misstep is that sanji isn't in it, but even with this critical flaw it was still quite enjoyable. Zoro is very funny on his own but add luffy into the mix and their dynamic was hilarious. Usopp as always was great. The villain is small potatoes tbh but not really the important part of the movie, which focuses more on the relationship between the kid they meet and his gramps. The final message was surprisingly very sweet. Also sanji appears briefly in the end credits to appease me.

Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle. This movie is a-okay. The villains are a complete joke and it takes the crew less than five minutes to deal with them. The crew dynamics carry all of my enjoyment with this one.

The Cursed Holy Sword. Yeah... this movie commited the unforgivable sin of having zoro as the main focus and yet managing to do absolutely nothing interesting with him. Even if they did shamelessly create kuina 2.0 with saga, they could've delved into how zoro would react when two different duties (his promise to saga and his position as the crew swordsman) clash against each other... but instead we see no conflict with zoro, even though we all know this situation would be conflicting for him. They just make him scowl throughout the whole runtime and thats just not who Zoro is... Luffy and usopp are a lot of fun though.

HUH??? i just wanted merthur to fuck on the pitch... (joke) (just in time for fuck him on the field friday)

also there's side stories. like one is when the players get handcuffed tgt for 24hrs but they've got an uneven amt for it and merlin gets roped in

and then there's the valentine's day arwen special that i somehow accidentally made into a statement about arthur's attitude toward his sexuality?? and feelings for merlin??? through his anxiety about his date with gwen????

there's like. ik i rly only talked about the side stories but u have to realize just how much has already gone into this fic and i wouldn't even say i'm halfway done. i don't think i've written out a single match which is also funny bc i've been keeping up with the prem and actually think i can do it now. i just keep dragging my feet abt it lol

i think the hardest part for me is when im gonna have to seriously injure arthur. i didnt want to but i think it's an important way for his and merlin's relationship to progress and also would explain merlin's attitude toward him in january. its less abt injuring him and more abt him having to sit out of games not for like. lineup stats/compatibility reasons

oh my god typing this all out made me realize we haven't met like. half of the guys on the team yet. i was sitting here like "i need to rewatch eps with all the knights bc i dont trust myself to write percy and elyan accurately" but now i just realized i dont even know if mordred is on the like. squad yet or if he's still with the u18s (after a brief check with my info page he is. i'm gonna be sick)

2015 Austrian GP

Alright. I only have the race once again. Nope. Pre-race content! Let's go!

I read that in FP1, Nico was faster than Lewis. Of the others, only Raikkonen was able to come less than a second behind them. Seb was dead last with a gearbox problem, running only 4 laps. He was the fastest in FP2, though. Nico was second but did not set any timed laps in the last 20 minutes because his car was leaking oil. Lewis struggled on the supersofts and he was only 5th. Then Seb was again the fastest in FP3, just ahead of Lewis. Alonso red flagged the session by stopping on the track. When it resumed it had started raining so the times weren't improved. 

Raikkonen was out in Q1 because of a miscommunication leading to him not having enough time to set a second hot lap. The track was drying so the times constantly improved. Jenson was also out in Q1, and he apparently had a 25-place grid penalty?! So yeah that turned into time penalties for the race… 

In Q2 the Mercs were the fastest with Rosberg ahead of Lewis. Alonso didn't make it to Q3. Ricciardo ended 14th and had a 10 place grid penalty so he also got a time penalty for the race, I guess. 

In Q3 Grosjean's brake by wire system failed and he couldn't set a time. Nico was ahead of Lewis after the first hot laps but Lewis improved by 2 tenths in the second round. They then went out for a third hot lap and both spun on different parts on the track. And that's how Lewis got his 45th pole, level with Seb who ended 3rd on the grid. Massa is 4th, Hulkenberg 5th, Valtteri 6th, Verstappen 7th, Kvyat 8th, Nasr 9th and, as we said, Grosjean 10th.

I've found the post quali press conference. It wasn't interesting apart from the way Lewis looked at Seb while he was talking so enjoy these awfully pixelated gifs.

In the end, Daniel had a 5 sec stop and go penalty, Alonso a drive through and Jenson a 10 sec stop and go penalty.

For some reason the drivers’ truck is this tiny little thing they're sitting on basically hip to hip. I can't see Lewis rn but I bet he's hating every second of it. They're also all freezing their asses off. 

About his 45th pole he says he's grateful to the team who's given him the car that made it possible for him to do so. He's excited for the race, he says it's cool and he doesn't know if it's gonna rain. He's also happy about the turnout. He says the Ferraris seem to have good race pace and he thinks it's gonna be pretty close. The interview is cut short because they need to get on the truck. I'm kinda sad she didn't interview him on it because I would have liked to see who he was sitting very intimately close to lol. 

That's not a very interesting prerace broadcast. There's a Hulkenberg interview and a Valtteri interview and a segment about what it's like being a TP, during which Lewis says he personally thinks a TP should be a leader and keep everyone calm and cool. They need to be easily approachable by everyone, because people need to be able to go to them to talk about issues they have. 

Formation lap. 

They're racing!

Oh fuck Nico gets a good start, Lewis tries to cover him but he's ahead into turn 1. Lewis comes back at him shortly after but he's on the outside. He attacks again but Nico still keeps him on the outside. Yellow flags are waved somewhere. OH NO WTF! They cut straight to an onboard and it's a Marussia I believe, under another car, is it a McLaren? No wait, I got it wrong! It's indeed a McLaren, Alonso's, and he's on top not of a Marussia but Raikkonen's Ferrari! Oh Jesus, that's a scary view. The cars are literally on top of each other. Safety car. Alonso is helped out of the upper car by the marshals. Raikkonen stands up on his own. Alonso jumps to the ground and turns around to check on him immediately. He's trying to get his steering wheel back on and as he steps out of the cockpit Alonso seems to make a gesture kind of like he's trying to grab his hand, it's kinda cute. They walk away together and look back over their shoulders. Surely they haven't seen such a view before themselves. 

Meanwhile Kvyat is in the pits getting his nose changed? Jenson asks if everyone is okay and he's told yes. Let's see the replay. From Raikkonen's onboard it's difficult to understand what happened. He lost control of the car and then crashes laterally into the barriers, it just happens that Alonso's car is in-between him and the barriers. I guess Alonso might have triggered the loss of control? Wow, it's freaky. Once Alonso's car is propped on Raikkonen's and they're against the barrier they still slid on what I'd estimate to be a good 20 metres, probably? Yeah we get an aerial view and that could have been way worse. Alonso got sandwiched right at a place where the barrier is at sort of an angle to allow for passage. Had that angle been sharper it would have been catastrophic. We're still unsure what happened though… Oh and NOW that's a Marussia stopping. That's 3 DNFs on lap 2.

Bono tells Lewis to be careful on the restart as the pressures are low and it would really hurt their race if he locked up. Shortly after, the Safety Car is announced in this lap… Nico slows down slightly while Lewis swerves behind him to warm up his tyres… The tension is high… Here we go… He gets some distance between them down the main straight. Sainz and Grosjean got into some slight contact at the back. Nico sets the fastest lap. He's out of DRS range for Lewis now. And that's a slow second McLaren… Yep, that's a double retirement for McLaren. 

Lap 10. Nico sets another fastest lap, he's 2 seconds ahead of Lewis already. Seb has fallen behind as well. Then it's Massa, Hulkenberg, Verstappen, Valtteri, Nasr, Sainz, and Perez. Ericsson gets a drive through for a jump start. Nico sets fastest lap after fastest lap. And finally, Lewis starts gaining time rather than losing time over him. Valtteri overtakes Verstappen for P6. Bono : "Good job there Lewis, closing the gap nice and steady." 

Lap 20. Nico is still 2 seconds ahead, Seb has dropped back further. Apart from Valtteri's earlier overtake, the order hasn't changed in the top 10. Ericsson's engine stopped then went again. As we're shown graining on Rosberg's tyres, the pit stops start. Hulkenberg comes in from P7 after Grosjean, Sainz is also in. Valtteri pits and Ted says there was a close call between him and Verstappen. 

On lap 30 Sainz gets a 5 second penalty for speeding in the pitlane and Verstappen overtakes Kvyat for P10. Nico is 3.2 seconds ahead of Lewis. It's still Seb behind them then Massa, Perez, Maldonado, Hulkenberg, Valtteri, Daniel and as we just established, Max is P10. Lewis is working on closing that gap again, 2.7. Sainz has no power. 2.2. Nico is told one lap. Lewis is told to pick up the pace. Nico locks up. He comes in. It's a 2.7 stop, 21.7 total in the pitlane. Massa pits, but Lewis didn't actually come in and now Nico is setting the fastest last sector in his outlap. They need to bring him in, staying out won't do him good. He pits. Ah fuck it's 3.1. Nico is well ahead and sets the fastest lap. Grosjean has a problem with his gearbox, he’s cutting some grass. The gap between Nico and Lewis has indeed increased with the stops. It seems to be about 4 seconds now. Seb comes in, putting Nico back in the lead, and it's a catastrophic stop for him, oh no! They can't bolt the right rear in! 13 seconds!!! AND LEWIS IS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR CROSSING THE PIT EXIT LINE argh! Grosjean retires. Lewis did cross the line. And that's a 5 second time penalty for him. Fuck, that's a stupid mistake, that. 

Lap 40. The gap to Nico is 5.6, without the time penalty. Then we have Massa, Seb, Valtteri, Hulkenberg, Verstappen, Ricciardo, Maldonado and–

Bono tells Lewis about the penalty. "It's just a 5-second penalty, this will be added to our race time. So that means we need to be 5 seconds ahead of the car behind to maintain our position." Lewis sounds surprised. "Which one did I touch?" he asks. Bono explains it was pit exit and they are reviewing it. Well we saw the replay and it's undeniable. 

Raikkonen says he's fine and he's not sure what happened but thinks he lost the rear of the car. No mention of Alonso in his interview. 

On lap 50 Lewis is making no progress, he gave up on that win. The gap is 6.8. Massa is still 3rd but Seb is closing on him. 

I'm now officially bored and not paying much attention. 

On lap 60, the gap is 6.2. Daniel overtook Nasr for P10. 

10 laps to go. Oh, the gap is closing fast now, 5.5. 4.9. Massa is a healthy distance behind them so there's no worry about Lewis keeping P2 and Seb is now only 1 second behind Massa. Cue the fight. Perez complains of very bad vibrations. The gap at the front stabilised. Seb is closing on Massa. Nico is complaining of vibration. 

5 laps to go. Lewis is 4.8 behind him and Seb is still stuck behind the Williams. They're passing a backmarker and that was a close call but the fight is still on. Nico's engineer gets back to him to ask if the vibration is all the time or on the brakes. Nico is a bit frantic : "all the time, all the time!" He asks if he's sure there's no reliability concern over the tyre and he's told not at the time. The engineer starts to explain but Nico cuts him off : "All eyes on that, okay?" he says. "All eyes on that." The engineer says "absolutely, absolutely, but no concerns at the moment." Seb attacks Massa but he can't make it. The gap to Nico is 4.5. It won't change anything, there's not enough time to make it, 2 laps to go. Maldonado and Verstappen are fighting and they both almost crashed several times now. Verstappen says his tyres are completely gone. Final lap. This fight is tighter between Nico and Lewis, with the gap down to 2.2 seconds. 

It's the end of the race. 

Nico wins ahead of Lewis and Massa. 

Niki says Nico did a perfect race from beginning to end. Ted says Lewis also made an "uncharacteristic mistake". Niki says it happens, they shouldn't and he'll for sure be upset but he thinks Nico would have won regardless. 

Lewis hugs Nico but he hasn't taken his helmet off.

Nico climbs the barrier and sets himself upon his mechanics to be carried which is a weird thing to do lol.

As Nico arrives in the cool down room for some reason it's Herbie Blash carrying his helmet for him. He immediately engages Massa in Italian rather than English. It seems less innocuous than when he speaks German with Seb, you have to say. Massa moves to look at the times on the screen. Lewis and Nico don't talk. 

Lewis does smile on the podium, he's not beaming of course but he doesn't seem too pissed.

Oh here's the Mercedes moustache mechanic again!

Gerhard Berger leads the interviews. 

Berger tells Lewis he's one of the quickest drivers he's ever seen. Lewis smiles. Berger says he also has a quick car but a headache in the team, as every time he thinks he's going away winning the championship Nico comes back and keeps him honest. (It's interesting how in 2014 he was the underdog as he chased Nico for most of the season and this time it's the other way around). Berger says it's great to watch them both. Lewis says it's great to see his enthusiasm. There was no question there. They touch each other and it's a bit awkward, Lewis laughs.

Lewis says Nico did a fantastic job and he was quicker during the race. He says he had a bad start which lost him ground and then he pushed as hard as he could. Berger says they both put quali laps every lap and he thinks it's great to see them fighting since karting time. Lewis says it's been a long time. 

When asked in postrace interviews, Rosberg and Massa said that there should be safety improvements made in the area of closed cockpits after Alonso and Raikkonen's crash. Lewis said he had no opinion on the matter. Alonso said he was scared by the incident and relieved that Raikkonen was fine. There was no penalty. 

Maldonado accused Max of not respecting the rules in their fight for P7 although he said he enjoyed being allowed to race to the limits by the stewards. Max said he found it "quite funny" that Maldonado said that and refused to elaborate. (Honestly he's so funny for that.) 

Lewis is off to see the fans again. Meanwhile Paddy is interviewed and it's not very interesting but about the next race being the British GP he says : "to be honest one of the greatest moments I ever get in formula 1 is when you hear the home crowd at Silverstone cheer for Lewis, I've heard that in a number of occasions and it's really quite emotional."

Ohhh Massa's son is hanging around with him while he does media duty. I see him in the background of Lewis' interview. It's so cute. Anyway Lewis says it was a good, decent day in the office.

Natalie asks why he couldn't find an answer to Nico's pace, though. He's not really in the mood I can tell, he's evasive. Not 1-word-answers bad but not really owning up to it either. He says he doesn't know, he says Nico was quicker "just in the second stint", in the first stint he was close. He did a great job and "of course" Lewis lost out at the start. She asks why. He says he let the clutch out and it underperformed or something like that idk if it makes sense. He coughs. He says it's an issue he's been having since Barcelona, and that before that he had really good starts. She says he seems pretty calm about it all. He smiles.

She asks about Silverstone. He says he's looking forward to seeing "lots and lots of Brits" and to drive the circuit because it's a great track. He says Nico got to win his home GP, so he'll be out to fight for this one.

Hah! They decided to interview Felipe Senior and Junior. Jr said Sr would finish third and indeed he did. The microphone is the size of his face lol. Little guy. He's just playing with it during his dad's interview. Cute cute cute. At the end, Simon says he keeps seeing Jr practising his football skills in the paddock. He asks him if he wanna be "a racing driver or a famous Brazilian footballer". "I wanna be a racing driver," he says quietly. Everybody awws. Massa makes the international money gesture in the background. "You need to find sponsors uh?" he says as he taps him on the shoulder. "Good sponsors." Hill points at Sr : "Here he is, here's the sponsor!" They laugh.

Brundle congratulates Nico on his 11th win and says apart from the quali lap he had the weekend covered. Nico isn't convinced. "I had Sunday covered," he corrects him. "Saturday not really." He says the start was very important and he nailed it. He credits his engineer for his clutch settings. He says like he's said several times before that after the start it's difficult to come back because they have the same car, so unless the one in front makes a mistake you can't really overtake.

What are your favorite aliens from the Whoniverse? I honestly think the best ones from modern doctor who came from the 9-10th doctor era. After that, I can’t really think of any other iconic ones other than the Silence. I appreciate the modern versions of the Zygons and Sea Devils too. Super excited for Beep the Meep.

Ooh, hmm...if we including Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood too...Slitheen definitely near the top of my favorites, as sure, they do devolve a lil from their appearence in Doctor Who when they move over to reguarly appearing in Sarah Jane Adventures, since kids show, but just, they are a pretty good mixture of sillyiness (the farting thing does take a bit to get used to I will admit) but also threatening, especially when you see they literally skin native's on the planets they trying to get shit from, and that includes literally children in Sarah Jane Adventures. And sticking with Sarah Jane Adventures (sorry, I am mentally unwell about this show lol), the Bane were a pretty good species idea. Like yeah, they do kinda have the whole hunting thing like most alien species in the whoiverse, but at the same time, they are pretty terrifying in their first appearence, and Mrs. Wormwood is a pretty good villain character, hers and Sarah's bitch fights being pretty funny to rewatch. And another favorite from SJA is the Xylok, because the idea of an alien species who only have one purpose and once you take it away, they not sure what to do and shit? Perfection, and Mr. Smith was a terrifying villain in Lost Boy. And just one more cause uh, I've been focusing on SJA too much lol- but the Pied Piper was a pretty terrifying alien, talking as someone who hates clowns.

And this is kinda SJA snd doctor who now, but the Trickster is a definite favorite of mine, as who doesn't love the concept of an alien who seeks to cause chaos via seeking people as they about to die and stopping their death via a deal so that the trickster can use them for his plans? He don't even appear in doctor who and yet, I am forever curious still about his brigade we got hinted at in Turn Left when his ally makes an alternate reality via Donna. In terms of Torchwood, off the top of my head as uh, I don't think Torchwood was always heavy on aliens lol: the Fairies cause holy shit, batman, to how they put a twist on fairies, and the 456 are a terrifying alien species, and not fully a favorite but I do find it funny a lil (I am a lil immature, ngl lol): the sex gas alien. Just...what even is that episode lmao?

And in terms of Doctor Who itself, besides the Slitheen I already mentioned, prior to Doctor Who fucking turning them into your villain of the work, Daleks were terrifying and they were really good in their appearences, especially Stolen Earth/Journey's End. Weeping Angels terrified me as a child, so I'd have to add them to my list, and also Steven Moffat, pay for my therapy please with that ending of Blink. The Altons are pretty good as well, again, Doctor Who turning anything you see into aliens, so good luck seeing them outside of Doctor Who. And I do appreciate the Cybermen, but I also have a soft spot for the Cybermats. Terrifying creatures that I also kinda wanna adopt lol. And I do agree about the Silence, but also like, shout out to uh, shout out to the Abzorbalof from Love And Monsters. A mixture of ridiuclous and terrifying in a pretty decent episode (except for the endng...that's just gonna make me weirded out forever). And as someone whose still terrified of the dark at twenty one, the Vastra Nerada are pretty good terrifying aliens. And last one, the Krillitane just for being in one of my favorite episodes of Tenth era...and also being terrifying, cause kid me could not watch these episodes but nowadays I can, though we need to question why so many aliens go after kids in this universe, cause you don't escape aliens no matter the age I guess.

And I have not watched much of Classic Who or read much of its extended lore, so I don't have much so far from Classic Who, but Candyman is funny as shit and I love him and I want him to come back, ridiuclous costume and all. And I fucking have a fear of spiders, but the spiders from third doctor era are just, they good villains and they look ridiculous, so onto the list they go, but its probably a good thing SJA didn't go through with bringing them back, given do not want to see them evolve from their puppet form.

Hey, I'm a professional translator and subtitler and I've worked for Netflix, and can tell you that it's not the translators fault, prob. Netflix has the most restrictive parameters for subs I've ever seen (and I've been in the field for 10 yrs). They limit your character count and reading speed so much that you have to cram what would be three subs into one sub only. In some cases they even send you the timed file and you have to use it as is, without changing a tenth of a second. Whenever(1/2)

(2/2) Whenever I do some show for Netflix, my agency always gives me the option of just not putting my name at the end, because a lot of us (translators) are just embarrassed about the end product, due to NF's restrictions.

How would u rank the vongola (tenth ofc) guardians??

Imma be honest I don't have much interest in the main gang. I like most of them tho! I don't really think about them unless they're relevant to hc's involving other chars but I do have opinions on them! So if I had to rank them....

(Warning in advance: I don't like Hibari and Mukuro, so i'm gonna be negative about them lol)

Chrome (Shoulda just left Mukuro in jail and let her be the main mist guardian instead of always throwing her under the bus just to give his ass a way to be relevant to the plot.)

Yamamoto (Tho he is not in my personal list of favs I firmly believe he is the best character in the entire series. I will accept no criticism on this.)

Gokudera (Just an all-around good character. I'm sure people have compared him to Bakugou before cause they are admittedly similar, but Gokudera has a charm that Bakugou doesn't that actually makes him a likable character imo)

Tsuna (He's a good protag, pretty unique in his own way. I respect his reluctance to willingly accept all this mafia bullshit persisting all the way to end of the series. Some say it's lack of character development, I say that it is the most reasonable stance to take in his position cause hes a fucking child! Leave him be!)

Ryohei (My most recent rewatch made me realize that they really just kinda ignore this poor boys existence half the time. He likely could have had more development if Kyoko didn't have such a passive role in the story. They're siblings, that could have been expanded on, they could have done all kinds of fun shit together but both of them got cheated by the writing. rip)

Lambo (He is a good lil lad but I do not like that he is a guardian. He is 5. I'm way onboard with the people that say Haru should have been the lightning guardian)

Mukuro (I only like him in the context of kokuyo gang stuff but on his own I pretend I do not see.)

Hibari (I respect his character to an extent but I find him painfully boring. He feels very one-note. Just kind of there to be ridiculously OP for no reason when the plot needs it most. I'm more enthusiastic about seeing Hibird than I am him.)

So a SE Lain rewatch is happening now that there's a dub. And noticing lots of details now that it's a bluray rip not compressed into files small enough to fit several on to a CD-R. LMAO. The anime experience was yellow subtitles taking up a full tenth of your screen and I miss that because netflix and YouTube subtitles are tiny unless you're up close and upclose means visual overload and eyestrain. Old woman yells at internet cloud lol. I've mostly avoided anime except for Ghibli with the exception of NGE last year, finally getting around to watching Planètes (and not really liking the ending) and Wonder Egg Priority which is totally breaking my heart. The golden age of seinen passed and moe and moe subversions didn't appeal, slice of life was not relaxing if I had to be close to the screen to read subtitles and i just can't muster the emotional investment for long term series, especially if character development is slow. Avatar the last air bender made it worth your time by the third episode and that's my TV gauge pretty much. Lain wouldn't pass the test nowadays being cryptic and hard to get attached until mid season. So basically I've skipped at least 15 years worth of anime, even stuff that gets rave reviews unless it's in a smaller format such as movies/ovas. Because reviews are subjective too, Inuyasha did nothing for me, i knew i was gonna get strung along like for ranma 1/2 and see minor character dev over seasons. Naruto same. Attack on titan had wierd vibes and FMalchemist seemed like it was going to get dark and painful so i chickened out. One Piece is too cartoony and just loud for my tastes and there have been dozens more in that manic style including quite a few western cartoons. I just do not have the tolerance for characters popping on screen and yelling, feels like watching a Jim Carrey movie while you have a headache. So what animes and cartoons do you think hold up? The ones worth the investment. The stuff that left you a little changed for having seen it...?

Favourite Doctor:  still Ten, i love 12 and 13 almost as much, even if not harder atm, but if it comes to choosing 1 fav doctor then it’s always Ten, so far no one stepped higher for me :’D I loved his era, i loved so many episodes with him, his season arcs, his companions, his relationships with everyone, and this is the only Doctor whose regeneration was smooth for me, he was continuation of Ninth Doctor and it felt like that. I was not like ‘but he is so different in so many ways’ nope, never. Maybe it’s because companions were the same, everyone was still around which was great btw, and I fell in love with the show with Tenth Doctor, dare I say that I stopped watching back then when Matt Smitt became doctor? lmao, must be shock for some but yes, I dropped this show because of THAT lmao??now i laugh at my own self but yeah, i did. where’s everyone, why it feels so different? that was huge nope. Only years later I got back into it, thanks to amazing Michelle Gomez. Actually I was not even going to watch other doctors at that moment, but I watched episodes only with Missy, then i said well it’s not bad I like it and Missy and Twelve were?? OOOF LOVES OF MY LIFE FOR SURE because their relationship were so cool and of course i loved it, so i started a huge rewatch, the first since i dropped the show. Fell in love with Doctor/Master all over again, Ten was as amazing as I remembered, Nine was perfect and I love him too!!! and then... i got to s5... oh god, i was like, let’s give him a chance, what do i lose? but it still felt so weird, and the show was so different, and suddenly everyone else is so important but where are old characters? but i got into it because i have already seen some of 12′s episodes and i got used to the style?? i guess. and then River appeared, not because of her but around episode 5 or 6 i was into it already, not as much as i was before but anyway, maybe weeping angels helped because i loved them and it reminded me of Ten, i felt some kind of a connection to old doctor. I liked River with 10, i thought i will like her with 11 too... but alas, still felt like you know those boys who have never had sex but try to act like they know everything about it and hit on every moving thing and think they do it cool? :D i am sorry if i hurt someone’s feelings with it, but that’s how 11 was for me back then, and while I do understand river/11 it’s the least of all river ships for me, 11 is still the least fav doctor because of those feelings i had back then when i stopped watching, they are not rational i know that now but still feel them, but i love him now, and will protect that kid at all costs! i love ponds, i will kill if anyone says anything bad about Rory Williams! and Amy and Rory? quoting my favorite star trek couple? DUDE WE GO TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! and even if i was not into all river/11 relationship i loved the story, and of course i liked 12, but s8 still feels like what the hell for me, not because of the doctor but because they tried so hard to show clara as bossy, i mean, i liked her with 11 and then suddenly they turn her into some control freak, it was not so MUCH with 11... but i know now why they did it, so Missy’s words have an effect and all. but still, i love clara before and after s8 :’D s9 clara? i will kill for her too. it’s too long but idk  :’D and actually, this shows that if you give it a chance even if you don’t like actor/actress at first - you might love the show ;) so stop acting like jodie is miscast honestly, i am ready to fight anyone for saying that :D say whatever you want about plot choices, but do not fucking act like it’s Jodie’s fault! actors are not responsible for show runner choices. She acts amazing with the material she has. anyway, 10 is my fav idiot!

Favourite Master: Missy, always was and always shall be. My favorite character in general in the show, no one tops my girl!

Favourite Sonic: honestly? i don’t really remember any sonic but 12′s glasses :D so... glasses. I mean, i don’t really care how it looks like, it does its job... most of the time lmao, but i liked those glasses and the thing with browser history was my fav :D

Favourite Companion: oh it’s soooo hard!!! either Donna or Bill. I can’t choose. but yeah, those are both with whom there were no ‘romantic’ relationship implied, i love friends more than couples. and I just loved 10 and Donna as a team and Bill and 12, i still wish they had more time. also Martha, the smartest companion lol she was amazing.

Favourite Story: anything involving The Master :D all episodes with them are my favs, but i can’t just pick one story, i still remember the first episode i watched back when it was airing and are you my mummy stuck in my head for the rest of my life giving me brrrr feeling, like it was not scary but somehow made me super uncomfortable? also vashta nerada?? duuuuude, you can’t just look at the shadow the same way. and ten/river together were really great, i mean, he did not know who is she, the mystery, i love shit like that?? yeesss!!!!! there are so many great ones. I don’t want to choose.

Favourite Soundtrack: that unreleased tiny melody when the master dies in the last of the time lords T--T and this is gallifrey and clara’s theme! those are my favs. and I also really like 11′s theme, kinda ready for adventures and doing some weird but funny shit :D

Dream Actor for next Doctor: ooooof OOOOF dude! you know what, usually it is one actor for 3 seasons, that’s how it was for the last 3 doctors, i want Jodie to break that rule and stay with us for 4th season as well, i just want to see how pissed off those haters will be lmao i really really think the entire timeless child thing will not feel the same with someone else yet, and i don’t think they will reveal much in 13th season, that’s HUGE thing, or they should make it so good and the next doctor... aaah i don’t want to feel that change again, like i did with 10 to 11, and felt with the every next doctor, but i overcome that shit and just give them a chance, it’s the doctor after all and im sure loving all of them now. not sure it can disappoint me even if most of plot choices in the season are ... weak. idk who, there are so many great actors but whoever i choose will not be as great as someone they choose, because they always somehow cast amazing people, but i agree with emily it’s time for a doctor of color! tho, they can’t go back to white male actor right now, i just can imagine how it will look like, with all the hate Jodie received and how people still whine about female doctor, it will look like they tried and decided to go back to white male doctors, one half will be happy but the other one will eat them alive! so yeah, i am pretty sure it’s not gonna be white man again yet lol

Dream Story: well, considering 13 is in jail now, i would love to see someone “we know” rescuing her, because honestly if they just showed me jack and left it like that, i will not accept it!!! but also since yaz will be the only one left with the doctor, since bradley and tosin leave the show, i hope we will have some yaz and doctor relationship development without anyone else, maybe jack could stay because i love him, but jack’s presence did not hurt doctor and rose relationship development back then, so it should not hurt now also. but if they bring someone new, at least don’t make it right away, let yaz and 13 have an adventure at least 1 episode, some talk and stuff. so when yaz leaves also... (and i kind of had that stupid feeling that yaz will die in the end, because somehow everything hints on that for me? idk maybe it’s because i rewatched and giffed orphan 55 today and vilma (?) telling yaz to run and stay alive kinda felt like something that hints on yaz’s future... and yaz is always going somewhere without thinking, to random alien ship, to save the doctor, she steps into trouble like a doctor hoping everything will somehow be ok, but im not even sure she hopes, it’s more like i am as good as her so i can do it, not in clara’s way when everything hinted she is like the doctor, because let’s be honest she was and even got her own tardis, but she thinks she is, but she is not, i think some day that might end bad for her... so when she also leaves i don’t want it be like well yeah, what’s next? i mean, i still miss Bill, that was like NOOOOOO with tears and screams for me, i loved Bill! and we had 2 seasons with yaz and i still don’t feel the same connection to any of the current companions atm, so i would like the show to make me love them more, i do love them, just not as much as those i still miss, but im sure defending any of them lmao i love them anyway. you know what i mean...

A Companion You’d like to see back: oh OH. we cant bring them back for entire season right? but doctor can meet Donna at some point, which will have no point lmao cos she doesn’t remember and it will only hurt doctor and i don’t see how her appearance will help any plot, it will be just fanservice cameo. But Bill is out there with Heather, they are powerful creatures now, i think it could somehow fit into the story, I want Bill back. But also, Clara is still one heartbeat away from death, she can be out there, and she has tardis. tiny cameos will be fine for me :D and Martha, but also Madam Vastra and Jenny, Kate and Osgood, where they are??? bring them back and it can make sense, their appearances. I mean, imagine someone from UNIT in s11, not unit itself but osgood??? it would feel so much different. 

An Enemy/Alien/Creature you’d like to see again: weeping angels!!!! OOOF they were creepy, and i love them, like, DON’T BLINK!!! how can you not blink for so long? that is cool, i want them back. and also the most beautiful shots are always with angels so... :’D

If you could travel with one of the Doctors, which Doctor and why?: oooh, while 10 is my fav, and I totally would hit on 13 :D i will choose 12, 12 from season 10, because he was such a grandpa, no lovey dovey stuff, he would lecture me on thing i do, give me new info about something, we would explore shit together and he would be like a grandpa i never had. K- What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Steven Universe. I didn’t notice the depth of his character development as starkly while catching the new eps over the years, but as I’ve started rewatching in order from the beginning it’s. Wow, it’s well done. I can easily track this kid’s growth in ability, maturity, leadership, and acceptance of himself from season to season. And then Change Your Mind goes and gives me just… the most satisfying end to a character arc I think I’ve ever seen, with that beautiful refusing scene. The sheer relief on his face as he finally understands who he is and who he isn’t, as he finally comes to fully love himself. RS always said this show was meant as a coming of age story, and it absolutely succeeds in being that.

As an honorary mention, the Twelfth Doctor also has suuuuch a good linear character development from s8-s10. He’s a rare Doctor honestly, in that he actually dies on a high note instead of after just… having the universe chip away at him until he’s nothin’ more but a depressed disaster alien. His development is positive, starting in s8 where he’s in a dark place and is re-evaluating who he is and what he values, and ending in s10 where he’s- by that point- figured out that what he’s all about is simply. Kindness. Laugh hard, run fast, be kind. I love this era for that.

For Steven Universe…

More fics that deal with Pearl and Greg bonding. (as friends lol, just to clarify.) I just think there’s so much potential with these two coming to understand each other more, and growing closer as people. Maybe this is a sign that I need to write it? XD

It occurred to me today that I’ve never seen any art or fics about like… the angsty dark concept of Steven somehow getting accidentally corrupted, and hooo boy if you know of anything like this that exists please tell me so I can have Angst Tears thanks :DD

T- Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

A fusion isn’t “controlled” mentally by the people who make up the fusion, and there’s never gonna be any “passing the wheel back and forth” sorta action when it comes to how a fusion mentally operates. Fusions are their own separate, unique individuals with their own unique personalities that become more defined and complex the more they exist as themselves. I cannot even count how many times I’ve… strangely… seen fics where they do the first thing. I’m not a fan of it because it strips away the fusion’s autonomy.

I also can’t believe I’m having to say this in the year of our lord 2019 but- FUSION IS NOT A METAPHOR FOR SEX, it is not a sexual thing it merely represents relationships! Of all kinds! Which do not have to involve sex!

On older Steven/Connie- Steven will have another growth spurt, (and finally stop being trapped in perpetual ten-year-old-face zone lmao), but so will Connie and thus he never quite gets to be taller than her. He is consistently the shorter of the two.

The Doctor has loved and will love many people over their long, long lifespan in a variety of different ways. None of these loves negates the other. So, just because the Doctor was in love with Rose at an earlier point in their life doesn’t mean that they didn’t also love River or Clara etc. etc. as well. Some of these loves were outright romantic. Some were more queer-platonic. Some were more like long-term arranged marriage scenarios, where they were practically thrown together by the universe and they grew to deeply love and care for each other over time despite their differences. All of them are very important to the Doctor.

Stan is aro-spec and Ford is ace-spec. Fiddleford is a trans man and bisexual. My sexuality and gender headcanons for Stan and Ford shift a lot to be honest, but in my mind, these things are always constants.

Doctah Who?

the first character i ever fell in love with: I started watching the show from series 5 on, then went back for the previous stuff and am making my way through Classic Who, so probably the first character was the Eleventh Doctor.

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: I don’t think this has happened for me.

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: This is pretty much the same, too. The only thing I don’t like is the Wh*ffaldi ship name, because it feels weird using Peter’s name for a fictional relationship, and I don’t really see why people couldn’t just stick with Whouffle. He’s the same man no matter the face, after all.

my ultimate favorite character™: Probably gonna have to go Donna here. I just love her so much.

prettiest character: I can’t answer this question. There’s too much pretty on this show for almost 54 years now.

my most hated character: Hated sounds mean but if we’re going major characters I gotta say Simm Master and Rose lol. (No hate towards the actors, though, I just hate the writing both for and about them. I liked Simm Master much better in series 10 as the narrative wasn’t trying to paint him as this tragic figure needing to be redeemed and I loved Billie as The Moment from the 50th Anniversary.)

my OTP: I’m admittedly something of a multishipper but if we’re going straight-up OTP it’s probably between Doctor/Donna and Doctor/River. Also I live for Amy/Rory and Bill/Heather.

my NOTP: Doctor and Rose

favorite episode: Ohhhh man this is so difficult! Like, too many tbh, and for different reasons. Favorites off the top of my head include The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, The Runaway Bride, Blink, Partners in Crime, Unicorn and the Wasp, Midnight, Turn Left, The Eleventh Hour, Amy’s Choice, Vincent and the Doctor, The Lodger, The Doctor’s Wife, The Girl Who Waited, The God Complex, The Rings of Ahkaten, The Day of the Doctor, Time Heist, The Magician’s Apprentice/The Witch’s Familiar, The Pilot - basically I tend to rewatch ones that are fun and make me happy, but I do like the occasional more serious one.

saddest death: Hm, death is tricky. Regenerations are all sad. I guess in terms of deaths Amy and Rory’s (even though they technically did live happy lives) made me bawl when I watched the episode so I’ll go with them. I haven’t seen any of the Classic Who deaths yet.

favorite season: Series 4 or 5, and so far my favorite season from the Classic Series was the one where the Master is the villain in every. single. serial. (I believe it’s season 8? Pretty sure that was also Jo Grant’s first season)

least favorite season: Series 2

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: Probably Rose again lol or maybe Simm Master? He does seem to have a bit of a following.
