I’m having a hard time believing that #OnceUponATime is really over... This show has been such a huge part of my life for the last 7 years and last night they aired their series finale, it just doesn’t feel real. I have learned so much from this amazing show. I’ve learned to never lose hope, that good can come from broken, that everyone deserves a second chance to change for the better, that even believing in the possibility of a happy ending can be a very powerful thing and so much more. Even though it’s the end of an era, we need to keep the magic alive by spreading hope, accept people for their differences and believe in our dreams because anything is possible if you just believe. I’ll always be a #oncer and #evilregal! I said a lot of this yesterday but I want to say it again... Thank you @adamhorowitzla and @edwardkitsis for creating this wonderful story, especially when it came at a time where I was struggling to figure out what I wanted to do and inspired me to get my degree and become a writer. There has never been a show that has been so close to heart until Once Upon a Time. "Good can come from broken" (Lana Parilla) I LOVE dandelions. One of my favorite quotes is "Some see a weed. I see a wish." In April, I went to ComicCon and saw Lana Parilla. During her panel, she said words that impacted me so deeply that I got them tattooed - "Good can come from broken." These words mean so much to me. I spent so much of my life broken - depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts and attempts, self hatred, suppression of my sexuality...I still battle some of these. But, ultimately, I love my life. I never thought I'd make it to adulthood. I never thought I could have a good life, but here I am. I have an amazing fiancé, wonderful friends, an awesome dog, a great home, a good job. Things are, for the most part, good. Is life hard? Certainly. But still, it is good. And from all of that brokenness has come a good life. Good can indeed come from broken. In a dandelion, the seeds have to break off to plant new ones. For that fresh yellow flower to come, seeds must break. This is why the yellow dandelions are coming off of the seeded one. For good to come, the flower must break.
