We have a couple old tablets around the house and yesterday I tried to get them working for my own Funny Means (wanna use one as a secondary mini pc monitor). I managed to charge the batteries of two of them: an Amazon Fire and a random android tablet

The Fire is SO fucking annoying, it comes bloated with amazon apps that you CANNOT uninstall NOR deactivate, making the system slow as shit. It also has ads hidden in the SYSTEM SETTINGS. I accidentally pressed a button that took me to Amazon to buy an Sd Card while looking around the storage settings. There is no Amazon in Argentina, so I had to wait for the slow as molasses system to show me the pop-up about how, in fact, there is no Argentine Amazon before I could close it. The only valuable thing in that is the kindle app, which I think some of my family members used to reads pdfs, however I did get a notification talking about how one of the system apps "is going to become unavailable by march 2022", so I don't know when was the last time anyone used this thing. It has a proprietary app store that I think is supposed to mimick the Apple app store to some extent (understandable, the tablet runs android and the market I imagine this is for - the USA - is more familiarised with iOS), which also only hosts Amazon apps and an incomprehensibly small handful of other miscellaneous apps. If nobody's using it anymore, I'll try and make it less Amazon and more "normal" just out of spite.

The random tablet, though? The random tablet feels like a GODSEND. The viewing angles on the display suck (I'm not gonna be an ass about that, iirc this tablet is from somewhere between 2011-2014) but the image is pretty crisp, it's running Android 4.4, and though it has Google Services the only Google things it has are the Play Store, Gmail, and Google Play Music (which, iirc, is discontinued now). What really makes it a godsend, though, is that IT HAS AN HDMI PORT. I'm not a Tablet Guy so I had no idea tablets could have those. It's hard to find a manual for it online, but I think I found one and I think it says the hdmi can be used as both video in/out?? My pc's GPU only has one HDMI port (and three DisplayPorts...) so I'm gonna have to buy an adapter, but I'm hopeful! I'd have to figure power out, as an older tablet of a random company idk how comfortable I feel with leaving it plugged in 24/7

Maybe a letdown, but I just liked the way "Io" looked and sounded, but I needed to spell it differently than the already existing Greek mythological figure. I didn't know at the time that Ayo is a real word/name. I didn't have home internet, so I couldn't google it while I was hyperfixating on him for hours in my shitty college apartment in 2011. So it has no association with the Yoruba word.

Describe your OC's body physically in detail.

Ayo is 5'11" (about 180 cm), quite pale khaki for a Phindian, and could only be described as lanky. He's skinny. It's evident he didn't eat well for years as a young adult. He has some lean muscle tone on his arms, chest, and shoulders, just by the nature of his species as well as his job as a mechanic. He's narrow in the waist and hips, and has positively no ass. His eyes are hazel, but it's hard to see at first glance.

He has a black ink tattoo of a solid black circle on the deltoid of his right shoulder, with thin circles and dots radiating outward to create a stylized representation of the Phindar system. He's a jumpsuit kind of pilot for his career in the Resistance. Once he's a freelancer, he wears casually Star Wars-y outfit like you'd see on other handsome rogues and pilots, with a vaguely aviator style jacket. (It's hard to design Star Wars outfits in my head.)

When he's not working, he's still a Phindian and isn't afraid to dress in a way the galaxy generally considers feminine. Skirts are unisex on Phindar; the only way to feminize a skirt is to fold the pleats in a specific way. Ayo adapted to dress more typically of the galactic male standard in order to make a living. But when he's being casual or going out drinking--he knows he's hot, and he's not afraid to show it. And he prefers to do this with bright colors, deep v necklines, and sometimes skirts. And glitter. He really enjoys attracting other people through his charisma and his looks.

How is Windows™ still this bad? To be clear, I am not a Windows person. I switched to Linux in 2005 and to the Mac in 2009. I have not owned a Windows machine in over 17 years. I have not really ran Windows day to day except to launch a Virtual Machine that ran Linux. Until this job. I have a Windows machine only to connect to the Government's network.

I can not believe how awful the experience is. Nothing works reliably except getting this spinning wheel whenever I try to click on something. My work Mac is a 5 year old model with much weaker specs than my work Windows laptop. Yet, almost everything causes this Windows laptop to lag. They have the same amount of RAM, the Windows machine has a much larger faster HD, a newer faster processor. The processor in the Mac is from 2011 (or at least that is when that type of processor came out). The processor in the Windows laptop is from 2020.

Forget that none of my learned shortcuts don't work. It doesn't have the most basic tools that a Mac/Linux machine have that I use on a daily basis. Granted, as a developer/DevOps Engineer, I do have somewhat specialized needs.

How Windows "works" confuses me these days. I can never find things. It seems like every time Microsoft releases a new version, they rearrange things for the what, 50 people who have never used Windows? Being on a Windows machine is like typing on a computer while wearing thick mittens.

It is like the iOS vs Android argument. Use what works for you. I have tried Android, even on Google Devices. You would have to pay me a lot of money to switch to an Android device. It just doesn't work for me. i live in an Apple world, i use Apple hardware, software, and services. i honestly wish there was a third mobile option. Options create innovation. I am worried about browser innovation.

There are only 3 browsers which means on non Apple platforms there are only 2 browsers. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Google is now trying to subvert the internet to how they envision it. Opera, Microsoft Edge, and others are now using Google Chrome's rendering engine. Web Developers are testing their pages against only Google Chrome. It is like no one learned anything from Internet Explorer 5 and the problems that brought up.

Rockstar made this bundle available on iOS and Android as early as 2011, priced at $11.99. The Netflix version is now open for pre-registration on the App Store. Notably, it appears identical to the original, with the only distinctions being the absence of a download fee and a modified logo featuring the Netflix icon. It's worth mentioning that unlike other Netflix games, the Trilogy doesn't utilize Netflix’s cloud streaming service; instead, it requires 2.9GB of storage directly on the device.

It’s been two years since Netflix announced that they would take gaming seriously, yet the streaming giant seems to still be 'crawling'. As reported by CNBC, the average daily users reached a peak of 2.7 million in January 2023 but experienced a decline, dropping below 2 million from March to July and hitting a low of 1.45 million average daily users in March. These figures indicate that less than 1% of Netflix's vast subscriber base of 247.15 million utilize the gaming service on a daily basis.

However, it is indeed exciting to bring a bundle of games from one of the most popular franchises in video game history to Netflix. Though it is not cloud gaming, it is somehow promising in bringing Netflix viewers to try the games without any extra payment. Also, GTA VI is coming out in 2025 with trailers released this month; those who would like to revisit the classic series might as well try the Netflix version.
