When it was just BH management I.e till 2020. Park Jimin was the Main dancer and Lead singer of the group. He was having 2nd most lines after Main vocalist. Shared Centre and dance breaks with other Main dancer. He was the face of BTS, he was most popular among locals and had decent screen time. He build an empire just because of his performance then.

Fast forward to 2021, Hybe management. JM having 2nd least lines in almost all songs. Less and less screen space each song released, no dance break or centres even during Grammy performance. They completely took away spotlight from him, doing everything to push him back. Now add shit happened during FACE era.

Now many may ask why would his own agency drag him down if he's bringing them more money. If you know about Got7, you will know. JYP had this ego against the members, denied them of everything, no comebacks or promotions even if they had a potential like exo and had a dedicated Fandom. All Members ended the contract immediately after 7 years and it ended on very bad terms with JYP entertainment. I've heard ex- idols saying agency will inject this thought into your head that you won't be anywhere near the success if it was not them supporting you in beginning, so some of these naive idols will be forever grateful for what they got and won't go against them, even if they have the power to do everything. Or will threaten them to kick them out since beginning to make them feel they are easily replaceable in this industry.

Some agencies or ceos are like that they won't like someone growing without any of their backup or won't like them surpassing their golden goose of the group or the group itself. It hurts their ego so bad, so they'll drag them down even if it cause them some loss.

As we all know JM grew without much backup from agency. * He was the only member who was threatened every day to be kicked out from group to the point he had to call his father and assure him, he'll make it anyway and members assuring him each night. * He didn't had any vocals lessons like tkk. He used to practice this idol choreography which is different from style he's used to till early morning and go to school like a zombie- his classmates words. Remember they sent JK for more dance training to US ? Yeah Jimin didn't got that even after being am excellent dance student. * Unlike Jin who was scouted from public and staff said to him they definitely need him in the group because of his looks or rapline which was the base of the group, Jimin was on verge of being kicked out and making him feel unwanted in the group.

He built everything from his day 1 hardwork, he even had to fake his behavior to fit the boy group idol standards. If the empire he built is still standing it's because of his genuine and loyal fans who loves him for who he is only.

So, I've seen you say a few times that you were into kpop at one point. Which groups were/are you into? Were you a blink?

Ooh boy.

Okay, so I gotta give a little rundown to explain myself here 😅 the first time I got into kpop was like 2016 and I was just a casual listener. Stumbled across Bang Bang Bang by BigBang and then found a Playlist and just kind of jammed. Then, after a couple of months, it just kind of faded into the background, and I didn't really listen to much between then and 2020.

In 2020 I rediscovered kpop while I was rehabbing an injury and relearning how to walk (needed those good high bpm songs to listen to while going on walks) and it just sort of grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go. Of course, quarantine only made it worse, I think and I actually got into the fandom side of kpop.

There hasn't really just been one group that I've solely listened to. I've always been just a whatever matches the vibe kind of listener. I'll listen to anything by any group if I like how it sounds basically.

The first group I learned all the members' names in was BTS. I wouldn't call myself an Army, but I do like their music and really respect what they've done for the industry. I was a Blink for a bit, but then they've just been so neglected with comebacks and releasing anything, really. I still like their music just...wish they did more ya know?

The first group that I really stanned was Stray Kids 🫣 if you've been on my main blog (or ao3) you know how deep I was in the trenches with them. I still listen to their stuff and like them a lot. Then, as is wont to happen when you stan Skz, I found Ateez and became an Atiny and now Ateez is my ult group.

I like a lot of other groups. Got7, Shinee, NCT, Xdinary Heroes, TXT, Seventeen, etc.

I was primarily a boy group stan because I didn't really like super bubble gum pop type music when I first started listening to kpop. Then, as one does, as I got more and more familiar with it I've come to like a lot of girl groups. Twice is my ult girl group (Momo is my ult bias 😍).

I also listen to Itzy, (G)I-dle, Mamamoo, Dreamcatcher, Purple Kiss, Le Sserafim, Red Velvet, Viviz, etc.

I listen to a lot of groups, I like a lot of groups, the ones I mentioned are ones I either know a lot (or all) the members in or ones that frequent my most listened to playlists lol.

Ada perasaan nggak enak banget saat ini. Perasaan nggak nyaman yang susah dijelaskan. Penyebabnya jelas berita member EXO yaitu Chen, Baekhyun, dan Xiumin yang membatalkan kontrak dan menuntut SM di pengadilan. Sebenernya masih belum jelas, terminate contract ini cuma dalam konteks subunit EXO-CBX atau gimana, tapi intinya cukup bikin gonjang-ganjing terutama dengan berita bahwa sebentar lagi EXO akan comeback. Sebenernya juga gak paham, ini tuh tiba-tiba atau gimana ya? Tapi nggak mungkin tiba-tiba sih, pasti kan udah didiskusikan dulu sebelumnya lebih lanjut. Tapi juga rasanya aneh banget kalo udah direncanakan sedangkan selama ini Baekhyun dan Xiumin sering banget kasih-kasih spoiler soal comeback EXO. I mean if they know this is the end of their journey, why bother doing things for EXO’s comeback. I mean if they know that this dispute would affected the comeback. So I really don’t know.

Awalnya kayak oke, mereka membatalkan kontrak. Terus sempat berpikir, kayaknya gaakan ngaruh ke comeback deh, soalnya kan comeback dah dipersiapin selama ini dengan matang. Terus berubah jadi happy imaginining that maybe the rest of the group would also get out from the company. Tapi terus sm ngeluarin statement yang somehow menggiring kesalahan ke member bahkan bawa-bawa isu comeback akan tertunda karena masalah ini. I don’t know akhirnya jadi kepikiran apa memang member yg ‘terburu-buru’ mengambil langkah ini ya? Terus si anak plin-plan ini semacam berpikir apa bener ya ini kesalahan di member? Terus ada  tweet-tweet mutual yang kayak bikin worry (this is just me and my overthinking behaviour). Juga ada yang kayak bilang kalo urusannya udah terminate contract kayaknya gak bakal bisa ngambil alih nama dan hak paten EXO kayak GoT7 atau iKon gitu. Makin kepikiran huhu dan rasanya nggak nyaman dan sedih banget.

Nggak pengen nyalahin member juga karena mereka pasti yang lebih tau situasi dalamnya dan apa yang terbaik bagi mereka. Tapi at some point gak bisa memungkiri kalo sedih banget misalnya mereka kenapa-kenapa dan gaada lagi EXO. Cause I love them so much dan mikirin nggak liat mereka bareng-bareng lagi (walaupun sekarang sering) tuh tetep sedih banget. I keep saying since they are complete again on April that this is the start of an era because the king is back, but now it feels like this is the end of an era. Meskipun akan tetap support member, tapi bener-bener sedih saat ini perasaannya. I didn’t meet them as a complete EXO yet, belum ketemu Kyungsoo dan Xiumin secara langsung. Belum liat mereka perform berdelapan. Belum liat mereka comeback dengan member lengkap. Banyak hal yang belum dirasain dan dilakukan dengan EXO bersama huhu. Mungkin salahku juga telat banget baru suka mereka, ketika mereka udah mau wamil dan akhirnya hiatus lama banget. 

Belum lagi gak bisa bayangin kalo nanti ternyata ini semua menjadi besar dan affect exo as a group in so many ways, fans akan terpecah, akan berantem, akan saling nyalahin, dan mungkin 2020 awal akan terulang lagi. Yang isinya sedih terus ngeliat timeline nge-hate dan ngatain members. Ya ampun nggak bisa bayangin huhu. I really love this group and all the comfort they give me. Tapi kenapa ya, jalan mereka gak pernah mulus huhu. I don’t know. Ini udah di tahap pasrah kalo memang gak bisa liat mereka sama-sama lagi. Di tahap kayak ya ampun semoga apapun keputusan kalian itu yang terbaik ya, semoga gak perlu ada berantem-berantem dan salah paham antar member. Semoga meski nanti beda-beda tetep masih berteman dan merasa saling memiliki EXO.

I'm not sure how everyone else writes fanfics, but for me I have too be sooo excited about it. That energy is so hard to come by lately. Struggles of having adhd. I have a bunch of vague ideas but no motivation to execute.

The fanfic that I was the most excited about was Play Things with Jimin & Taemin. Jimin was my first ever ult bias and it's been Taemin since I discovered him at the end of 2020.

Anyways I'm just ranting. I wish there were more sub!taemin and sub!jimin fics. The Taemin ones are so rare. He's like the perfect muse for sub!kpop content with his music, mvs, and performances. Everything screams peg/top me. Idk maybe that's just my bias opinion.

Also, kpop isn't too exciting right now for me. It's like a lot of comebacks have happened but no one has me looping their music because I'm obsessed with it. The Boyz had a solid mini album but no one is even talking about it.

Kai’s album is good. I didn't like it at first except for Slidin and Sinner. I think his 1st album is just so perfect.

I would like to see ONE group from SM ent. EXO, SHINee, SuperM, WayV. But, if feel if they do come to the states they'll only come to Cali or New York and I don't want to travel.

I also miss GOT7 as a group. Even though I discovered them in the summer of 2020. I like their individual music, too. Mostly Def.

Taemin will be out of the military April 4 and it feels like it's been forever. I wish I didn't give up learning Korean. Now, I'm not going to know what he's saying on his 1st live back. They will probably re-record it like they did Baek’s.

imma be honest - other than exo and got7 (mostly the 3rd gen bg's) boy groups nowadays aren't really my type. nct used to have an amazing array of songs, so much talent (especially with Mark and taeyong and ten, DONT GET ME STARTWD ON WAYV ARGHHH) but fuckkkk now with their new sound like sticker - it's driving me batshit insane. its just plain not doing for me unfortunately

usually when I hear a song, I prioritise coherence and good grammar, which most songs nowadays don't really have - new jeans, twice and stay c !!!!!!! arghhhh they really hit the nail so well !!!!! boy groups in general but specially 4th gen ones i feel like have been leaning sm towards the noise music lane lately and although there's a select few that do it kind of alright, most of them are basically just making fans drift away from them. that's why i think all these girl groups have been doing so well ! their sound is experimental in it's own way and they all have their own vibe, but that just goes to show that you can do something new that will separate you from others while still producing good music. newjeans got where they are bc their sound was something new, (g)-idle try so many concepts and still manage to do amazing every time, ive, le sserafim, stayc ALL OF THEM have something unique that sets them apart but their music is still good and liked by most people, unlike what we've seen with boy groups yk — they'll have something that sets them apart but not for the best of reasons lmao.

Since today is Stay Day, let's talk about how I became a Stay.

One Saturday afternoon in 2020, I was cleaning my room, as I do on the weekends. I listen to music while I clean, so I had music playing on my tv and I was just doing my thing. I didn't listen to much kpop then, mostly just Got7 (who were my ult group at the time), but I listened to enough of them that I had a kpop Daily Mix on my Spotify.

I remember cleaning up and then Easy came on. I think it was the first song that played on that mix that wasn't a Got7 song that clicked with me. So, I looked up the group because I wanted to hear more. Since they'd recently had a comeback, YouTube directed me to God's Menu and then Felix happened.

I'm pretty sure I stopped cleaning my room and went down the SKZ rabbit hole that day because I wanted to listen to more of this group. So, I watched music videos, I listened to the albums, and the more I liked them, the more I wanted to know about the boys who made this music. And that's when Chan happened.

The music got me first, but learning about the kids themselves is what made me a Stay. I did not watch the survival show, but I watched all the SKZ shows (The 9th, Finding SKZ, etc.). But I think discovering the album intro videos and 2 Kids Room is what sealed the deal and made SKZ my ult group.

Next thing you know, I'm buying albums (something I'd never done), and waking up at 4 in the morning to livestream concerts and fanmeetings.

I like it here, though. The music's good, the kids are great. I don't see myself going anywhere anytime soon.

I love a good co-workers to lovers honestly because that's how me and my boyfriend got together mixed with friends to lovers lol I am having a good day so far. Trying to get my hair done before my kid gets out of school but who knows if that will happen or not. I hope your day/night is good!

But yeah...how I got into Got7? A co-worker of mine at the time got me into Stray Kids, they were my gateway into Kpop. I had watched a MV on Youtube of Got7 in 2019 (YCMN) and didn't really pay much attention to them 'cause I was so focused on Stray Kids. Plus I was/am more of a listen to over watch type of person, so I really only listened to groups on Spotify.

'You Calling My Name' was the fist song that I heard from them on Spotify and saw the mv of (again). I liked them, but I wasn't crazy about them. It wasn't until I heard 'Bullet to the Heart' by Jackson maybe an hour or so later for them to catch my attention. I started listening to more of his songs and I watched a few videos on Youtube, which pulled me more into Got7's world.

It took me a minute to realize that Jackson was in Got7 and I rewatched the 'You Calling My Name' mv. Their voices were so different as a group and it was a shock to hear Jackson singing and rapping with them. They all fit so well together. Slowly, Mark started to gain my attention with his voice and smile. I watched interviews and he became my bias along with Jackson.

(I'm really bad with faces and names. So it takes me a while to realize/notice when a solo artist is apart of a group...or if I have seen/heard a group before. If my mind wasn't so slow, I would have been a fan of Got7 since 2019 and not 2020)

My first comeback was their Breath/Last Piece era. What a time that was for me...I was so excited and confused 'cause I really had no idea what was going on. I didn't understand the whole comeback theme and what it meant. Now I just get hype whenever one of them has a comeback.
