jonathan sure does avoid confirming where that blood on dracula’s face came from! honestly I’m very impressed at how active he’s able to be after the implied blood loss
#jonathan harker#dracula#dracula daily#I’m forcibly reminded of blood donating having all the drinks and snacks#and that one post that made me remember that throughout all of this—dracula has been personally ensuring jonathan’s meals#jonathan is not only trapped and reliant on the count’s polite facade for his own safety but for basic needs like food and water#I’m reminded of ibsen’s ‘a dolls house’—the door closing behind the wife—the implication that she will die without her husband’s support#which can be missed very easily by a modern audience who doesn’t remember how completely reliant women were on their men until very recently#personal finances! suffrage! the right to own property!#to say nothing of historical social expectations#gothic heroine jonathan harker strikes again
