no like fr like. i think people need to remember that at the end of the day none of this is real, and writers will craft storylines for maximum drama and impact. none of these characters are real and eddie diaz is not in a corner somewhere crying because i wrote about buck kissing another man.

Okay, so shower thoughts lead me to this idea, instead of Maggie getting a cancer diagnosis, it was Will that feels a lump in his chest, and he's terrified because his mother died of breast cancer, and he doesn't want that to be him, too. He doesn't want to put Jay through that again, watching one of his family members begin to wither away with the treatment, and maybe he puts off getting a diagnosis for a little bit because it could be something else, and he's busy and can't really afford a cancer treatment on top of everything else. When he finally sets an appointment and gets his diagnosis, it doesn't feel like relief, just the start of a long, concerning road, but at least he has Maggie in his corner to help him out (which means she still gets to meet Ben, and they bond but not exclusively over their cancer diagnoses and maybe their marriage can fucking LAST gdi)

Anyway, they should've leaned into the backstory they created for the Halsteads and then completely ignored past season 1 of Med and showed us Will facing the very thing he couldn't prevent the first time, and it would've given us more Halstead time together since they forgot they were brothers at some point istg

"Yes," Nadia answers patiently, shrugging her shoulders. Mouse is weird, but he's also nice. Weird, Nadia can handle-- God knows all of the things she had seen on the streets. Jerks, she doesn't have the time for, "Can I ask why?"

"You always say good morning to me. Today you didn't."

This time she blinks in surprise, wondering many things about this man and not having any of the answers. But she's not one to judge. Erin pulled her off the streets and Jay pulled him off the streets-- they're on even footing as far she's concerned.

"Is that the best part of your day or something? Waiting for me to say hi to you?"

"I'm not good with sarcasm: if you don't like me, just say it."

"No, no, no. Mouse," she rushes out, her turn to be nervous, "I'm-- I was making a joke. Maybe a dumb one. You're fine, we're fine. Everything is-- I'm just a little cranky this morning because I slept weird and my shoulder hurts."

"Oh, he says quietly, nodding awkwardly, "sorry, I--"

"No, it's fine. Don't apologize. It's nice that you noticed, actually. Maybe you should be a detective."

"Probably not," he shrugs, lips curving up the smallest amount noticeable, "I got a criminal record and all that, in case you haven't heard."

"So do I, in case you haven't heard."

ooh tell me about new tech tension and “I go to all the parties…” please!

okay so new tech tension is still very much in the beginning stages but it's going to be about Jay and an OC who I haven't developed at all at this point. But there is this whole in intelligence after mouse left and especially after everything that happened to Nadia as well (not that I like to remember either of those things happened). So basically the premise is just a new hire that comes in and Jay is very unhappy about it because no one can replace Mouse (I agree). its going to be very Mouse mention heavy I assume cause he just lives in my head rent free these days. I'm still working out a lot for this one but that's the basic premise.

I am really excited for I go to all the parties, it's going to be Mouse-centric, but Jays there too, it's going to be pre-canon but based on things alluded to in canon. focusing on how Mouse is there for Jay when they get back from the war, but then Jay gets himself together and mouse is left without a purpose and that's when he starts to spiral himself.

Schmitt stares at his phone like it has personally offended him and in a way it has. If Taryn was here right now she'd tell him he was lucky he escaped him and logically he knows she's right but it still hurts. Levi knows it wasn't him that was the problem, but him . He got over his shitty ex months ago but it still sucks. Which is how he ends up at Joe's on a Friday night drinking.

Lucas hangs up the phone, talking to his family is freaking exhausting well except for a couple of his aunts' and some cousins but still. They judged him on everything from his haircut, to his last boyfriend (if you could call him that) to why he wasn't more like his sainted uncle. And that's how he lands at Joe's sitting next to a hot scruffy stranger.
