If you think about it, Snively, Grimer and Agent Stone would form an awesome comedic and just overall interesting trio and they each represent three of the most common villain henchman tropes

Snively is the cowardly henchman that really doesn't want to be there but is too weak or lacks enough courage to get out (or too cowardly if you want to keep it short 🙄🙄🙄)

Grimer is the ever-obedient and creepy-looking Ivor. (The amount of gaslight he used on the Drakon Empire is INSANE) His devotion to Robotnik could be described as more of an obsession or fascination rather than true loyalty

Agent Stone is your typical "battle butler" that always keeps by the villain's side and will do anything to him. He isn't forced nor obsessed. He's a freak and will look very polite while being one

Tails is the ride or die best friend who’d take out an armoured guard more than twice his size to save Sonic

I’ve said this before, but I’m glad we’re at the stage where Tails is just kind of telling Sonic to cut the crap sometimes. It makes their dynamic feel a bit more even

I’m sure that Sonic running out on his trial won’t end well, but it looks like this guy isn’t here to cause problems for him

So yeah, as the cover already spoiled, the Drakon Empire are fish. That’s pretty much it

Robotnik also catches up with them, but it turns out that Sonic’s in the clear! The fact that he ran out, had help and the help crushed his opponent with a door doesn’t stand against him winning his trial, apparently. Well, a win’s a win!

We end with Sonic & Tails being escorted out. But while Sonic’s situation today might be dealt with, the Drakon Empire are still aiding Robotnik and therefore it won’t be the last we see of either party

In my perfect world catered to me specifically, Metamorphia doesn't get redeemed immediately after meeting Tails. She changes her form and goes into hiding, but she still holds most of her old beliefs. She thinks everything would be okay if it was her dad in charge instead. She still loves him and misses him and would be happy to go back to terrorizing innocents for him if he took over Robotnik's empire. Her dad is good, he's just with a bad crowd.

Its not until she hears of Robotniks "death" that she can see her dad without fearing Robotnik. She begs and begs for Tails to help her visit him in jail, he tries to resist but he's too good of a kid to say no. She breaks in the jail with his help and when she finds Grimer he welcomes her with open arms. They catch up and she talks about what a big meanie Robotnik was. Grimer is strangely silent while she talks about her distaste for Robotnik, how happy she is that he's gone. She promises Tails the breaking in was a one time thing, but she also promises her dad that she'll come back. Well, what Tails doesn't know cant hurt him, right?

She helps Grimer take over the prison and trick Sonic. She doesn't know why that annoying weasel is here ruining their father-daughter bonding, but she doesn't want to question her dad. But the farther into the plan they go, the more Meta feels left in the dark. Grimer said they were going to take over Mobius. Why are they bothering with shrinking rays? Was that always a part of the plan?

What a great cover! The gang’s all here including Johnny and Porker, and Amy has a great outfit

Oh dang, Amy has her modern bobcut! I’ll miss the spiky updo since it was so iconic to her StC incarnation, but I do have to say the new style does feel very fresh and new, quite appropriate for bringing the comic into the 21st century.

And hey, she has her red boots too!

So… is this creature Chaos? Between Amy’s new style and the police gathered here, this is all quite reminiscent of SA1. Although, this design is quite odd, how do you go from the almost Frutiger Aero aesthetic of the game design to this?
