ALANA ▶ ALANA LOPEZ ( FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHER ● 29 ● ADRIA ARJONA ● TAKEN)
The Lopez family has been involved in politics for generations and it was the same for Alana’s father. Thus she was raised like all women before herself, to look nice in front of the cameras. Her teenage years brought some amount of trouble to her father’s image, as well as her uncle, the president of Mexico at the time, but it was only after her cousin’s, ariela, kidnapping that her father made the proper decision to send her abroad. Alana finished high school in an English boarding school for girls.
Alana never lost her spirit, but every summer she came home, she seemed a little less like the reckless teenager she once was. It turned out that being somewhere her name doesn’t bear as much weight or expectations allowed her to grow at her own pace, and she became genuinely interested in her studies. Not only that, but documenting her experience abroad with pictures, she learned she loves to be on the other side of cameras, and found a lifetime passion for art in photography.
Once graduated, Alana returned home to attend the Monterrey University’s photography program. It took a little getting used to, after all she was home and her name wasn’t one to take lightly. Her father insisted that she had security and it made her incredibly uncomfortable around campus, so much so that she started looking up programs abroad. When abuela got sick, however, she decided against leaving, in case something happened to her while she was away.
Life was relatively normal until she got involved with the wrong person and ended up at the wrong place and time. The shooting between gangs left many dead and even more injured and though she came out relatively unscathed, watching her then boyfriend die along many others changed her. Alana had to leave Mexico, and she did a few months ago, only now arriving in Grimmbrook to reunite with her cousin, Ariela, and hopefully put everything behind her.
CONNECTIONS ▶
ARIELA LOPEZ: They grew up like sisters. Alana remembers when Ariela was taken, when she came back and when she left again. Initially, she was upset that Ariela was leaving Mexico and thought maybe she didn’t value family as much as she did. But in light of recent events and losses, she understands better and wants to make amends for being bitter towards her cousin. Before she left, Abuela made her promise not to tell her Ariela that she was sick. Their grandmother knew that the political life their family led would only lead to more heartache for each of them. They were better off away from it all. Alana can’t say she disagrees but she feels guilty holding onto the secret of their grandmother’s ill-health.
LUKE MASON: He was just trying to get coffee and the cashier didn’t have change for his bigger bill. Alana offered to pay for his drink. There wasn’t a big thank you, just a sigh and a nod and it struck her as really...sad. Whenever she sees Luke, she sees someone carrying the world on their shoulders. She’s tried to make friendly conversation since that incident but it seems like he’s got a lot going on in his head.
LILY REDSTONE: The woman nearly ran her over with her bike and Alana lost a camera lens as a result of jumping out of the way. To say she’s bitter is a bit of an understatement. She knows it was an accident and the other woman seemed frazzled enough for her not to demand repayment, but that doesn’t mean Alana’s forgiven her, or is ready to become friends.
NOEL ENRIQUEZ: Alana doesn’t think he means any harm and of course she feels bad that he went through what he did, but she doesn’t like how much he relies on Ariela. She doesn’t think any good can come of it and that her cousin will only end up overextending herself or getting hurt. Besides, there’s something off about the entire situation of what happened to him. Who would want him dead in the first place? And will they shift their focus to Ariela next?
ANASTASIA CAMERON: Alana was contacted by Anastasia when she saw her work on social media, with a Grimmbrook location tag. They asked her to shoot their new summer collection and do some promotional shots for their brand. She’s enjoyed working with them so far, appreciating their professionalism and their talent. She’s new in town so Alana hasn’t really heard rumors other than their step-mother died a few years back and their step-sister lives in town too. Alana doesn’t pry, however, knowing family is a tricky business, and does the work. They pay well and she’s gotten a few free pieces out of it too, which she can’t complain about.

NIBS ▶ RUTH ROSE (PAINTER / SELF PROCLAIMED PSYCHIC / LOST BOYS MYSTERIES INC ● 27 ● VICTORIA PEDRETTI ● TAKEN)
Fran never wanted to have kids and had her whole life ahead of her. She was not going to waste her teenage years changing diapers when she could be partying with her friends. And so as soon as baby Ruth was delivered she left her in the hospital for someone else to deal with what she called the greatest inconvenience of her life.
Saul and Stella Rose always wanted a girl, so they decided to give Ruth a home and take her on the road with them. Her childhood was not the most conventional one since she spent most of it moving from one end of the country to the other while her parents performed their magic act. It was when she was seven that they started incorporating the children in their act and Ruth was more than happy to dazzle people with her “psychic abilities”. She was a smart kid and she knew that it was all make believe and that they were all tricking people in order to get their money.
Life on the road was fun but her parents eventually decided to settle down and buy a house on the outskirts of Grimmbrook. Ruth was not all that happy for this change because she loved traveling and performing. Out of her siblings she was the one who found it the hardest to get used to their new life, the new school, friends, etc. When the discovery that their house was haunted Ruth was not scared, but excited. Finally, her life was back to being interesting.
It had been her brother’s idea to start investigating the paranormal and what began as a silly idea for a club grew into an actual business. Because of her long experience pretending to be a psychic, Ruth found it easy to jump into that role again. Sometimes she does feel bad that she is making people believe that they are talking to a loved one, or that their house has a poltergeist but at the same time she believes she is helping people move on and get some closure.
With everything going around in Grimmbrook lately she has convinced Riley to focus more on the events happening in town than play pretend.
CONNECTIONS ▶
RILEY & REGINALD ROSE: Her family. They’re both her favorite people and she’ll fight anyone who does anything to hurt either of them. Forever the little sister, she adores them both and loves to learn from them but also isn’t a pushover. She’s been known to resist certain ideas when it comes to Lost Boys Inc and to pursue others until they’ve convinced of it. They make a great team, balancing each other out perfectly.
JAMIE HSI: Ruth saw an advertisement for one of their acting class, and she knew she just had to go. She’d never had any professional experience or training, but she’d been acting all her life. She had no plans and went to check the class out. Instantly, the two bonded. With a flare for the dramatic, they demonstrated a scene together and it flowed so well. It was like they were born to be acting partners. The two got to talking after class, and Jamie was surprised to learn she had no training. They were fast friends, and she’s even dragged her siblings to their classes.
LEON BERNARD: He made an appointment a few months back, said he wanted to know how his club would do and though Ruth told him she didn’t work like that, he was willing to pay quite a bit of money so she gave him the session anyway, claiming something about franchising and making sure to keep his brother by his side for success. She doesn’t feel so bad about that part, with two brothers of her own, she knows they can be the most important people.
ALICE SUMMER: She thinks Alice is bit of a kindred spirit – the woman is a bit...odd too. Ruth has been called a lot of things her life so when she heard someone telling Alice off for asking too many questions at a book signing Q&A at Tale As Old As Time, she stepped in. Ruth threw on the old hat trick and pretended to have a vision right in the middle of the signing, one that told of the rude individual’s impending doom. After, she caught up to Alice and told her to keep asking questions or no one else would.
FRANCESCA FITZGERALD: The woman recently asked to do a mini docu-series on Lost Boys Inc., something about expanding her portfolio. She approached Ruth about it at a coffee shop and while she’s not sure how she feels about it, she told Frankie she’d ask her brothers and let her know. With everything going on in town, she’s not had a chance to but Francesca keeps checking in so Ruth plans to bring it up to them soon.

TOOTLES ▶ RILEY ROSE ( RADIO HOST / FOUNDER OF LOST BOYS MYSTERIES INC ● 31 ● NICO TORTORELLA ● OPEN )
Riley’s mother Lola gave birth to them when she was only seventeen years old. She'd been dating Riley’s father for a little under four months and they was very much unplanned and quite a shock to both Lola and her boyfriend Lance. He was a year older than Lola but no where near ready to be a father yet. He freaked out when Lola told him she was pregnant and left town a few days afterwards, leaving Lola pregnant with a broken heart. She'd honestly believed Andrew would stick around. With him gone, she was left to give birth and make the hard decision to put the baby up for adoption.
Was not such a terrible idea because it didn’t take long for Riley to be adopted by Saul and Stella Rose, a couple of carnies who were always travelling in their big van and performing crazy stunts in different cities. So Riley, like their other adopted siblings, lived on the road and had no idea what it meant to settle down until they were in their late teens when their parents decided it was time to retire and purchased a home in Grimmbrook.
Moving around every few weeks or months means that Riley always had trouble maintaining their friendships. They were not able to have any stable relationships because whats the point if they were just going to leave in a few weeks anyway? As a teen they had trouble opening up to people, preferring only the company of their siblings. They had also developed this really bad habit to lie - about everything. Which made it difficult for people to take them seriously.
The home they had moved into was not exactly the warmest place for a family to move into and had a very nasty reputation of being - well haunted. Of course neither one of their parents believed that nonsense, especially since Riley was always making things up. They never believed the stories, not even after Riley and their siblings came to them claiming that they had seen a tall man in a suit on several occasions. Riley even woke up one night and saw the tall man standing by the foot of their bed staring at them for a few minutes before it disappeared.
So it was their idea to start investigating the paranormal. Actually they became obsessed with it which led to the founding of Lost Boys Mysteries Inc. If anything weird is going on in your house, then you call LBM Inc. and they will get to the bottom of it - for a price, of course.
CONNECTIONS ▶
RUTH and REGINALD ROSE: Their brother and sister. The three of them were the missing puzzles pieces to complete the Rose family and Riley, though not the most outwardly affectionate, loves them to pieces. It’s been the three of them for as long as they could remember and they hope it stays that way. With Lost Boys Mysteries Inc., they’ve been able to spend more time with their siblings, doing what they do best – solving mysteries.
GUS ASHTON: Before they got a job at Grimmbrook Radio, they were considering writing for the Grimm. After a casual informational meeting with Gus to find out more about the work, they quickly realized that the type of things the Grimm reported on held no interested to them. They think that Gus uses his job to pry into people’s lives and Riley couldn’t care less about people’s private lives, all they care about is reporting on the strange happenings going on in town, and providing the public with supporting theories and conjectures. They’ll still talk to Gus now and then, but are glad they’re not working with him.
JOSEPH MADDOX: Some kids who lived in Underland thought it would be a good joke to call LBM inc to come inspect Joseph’s house. They’d just seen Ghostbusters, apparently, and expected them to arrive in the Ectomobile. Imagine both Joseph's surprise when the Rose siblings turned up, gear and all, ready to inspect the ghost of the old lady living in his bathroom and Riley’s surprise when Joseph had no idea what was going on. They cleared up the misunderstanding and sure, Joseph still thinks their weird as anything, but at least they didn’t charge him a cancellation fee, so that makes Riley and their siblings okay in his book.
CORDELIA DU PONT: She treated Riley when their van got rear-ended by some teenager. It wasn’t a terrible accident, but they did bang their head and had to go to the hospital. Cordelia asked questions about their job, recognizing their voice from late night radio in the on-call room. She was fascinated by what they do and while she hasn’t called in any strange activity for their services, she always manages to find something to ask them when they run into each other.
OMAR KAMEL: Despite their radio show mostly focusing on strange happenings in town, and the subsequent theories about said happenings, Riley had Omar come on their late-night radio show. They have a deep appreciate for performers of any kind. Maybe it comes from growing up in the Rose family but they enjoy the company of artists, actors and musicians so getting Omar on their show was especially exciting.

TRAMP ▶ TYLER DECKER
( FAIRY TAILS BARTENDER ● 35 ● SEBASTIAN STAN ● TAKEN )
Ryan Decker’s girlfriend left him when their son was six months old. He hadn’t wanted the kid but a near-miss incident on the steps seemed to trigger something paternal in him and, soon he was doing everything to provide a better life for Tyler.. Ryan only had his GED but began taking odd jobs around town: he was seen as a good man, a hard worker and a dedicated father.
Tyler considered his pa his best friends growing up but when he started school, his dad picked up more jobs and they grew apart. Ryan was trying to save money for Tyler’s college fund and Tyler was busy falling in with the wrong crowds. He’d get in trouble daily, detentions and suspensions becoming commonplace. Grades were abysmal aside from art and the only reason he was decent at that was because there were no rules. But even that talent fell to the wayside once partying took over. It broke his father’s heart that he barely scraped by in high school and was rejected by every college he’d lazily applied to.
Without prospects, he got various jobs around town, scraping by. Still frequenting parties, he met a guy, Mike, and what began as a casual fling soon turned into a relationship for a year. Tyler loved him but everything changed five years ago, when Mike got behind the wheel, intoxicated, and Tyler was too drunk to do anything about it. They t-boned an elderly couple’s car. He was sent flying and Mike was, unfairly, unscathed aside from cuts and a concussion. He left the scene of the crime and high tailed it out of town, too scared to call the police because he’d been behind the wheel at the time.
Tyler was in the hospital for months with two broken legs, broken ribs, a punctured lung and severe head trauma. They had him in a coma for weeks, his father beside him the entire time. He didn’t believe when they said Mike skipped town, nor the fact that the elderly couple they’d hit had died and until they could prove otherwise, he was the prime suspect who’d get charged. Eventually, this was dropped when an eyewitness and CCTV showed Mike leaving the scene. It fucked Tyler up. He’d love him and he’d left him for dead. His recovery wasn’t easy but months later, Tyler could walk again. His dad had lost two jobs taking care of him in the hospital, so he knew he had to do something to make sure his dad wasn’t dipping into what little retirement he had. One of the only places that actually looked at his lackluster resume was Fairy Tails, where he’s been bartending since.
CONNECTIONS ▶
SIMON CHURCH – His boss and one of the only people who had heard about the events associated with his name, and who saw his barely-there resume, and still hired him. He started by giving Tyler the shitty shifts until he worked his way up to being a decent enough bartender to cover the high-traffic times. Tyler doesn’t really talk to him much but he’s been in enough rough crowds to know that Simon Church is not someone you disappoint.
CORDELIA DU PONT – The nurse who refused to let him mope around and encouraged him daily for months as he was recovering. They’ve become best friends in the years since and in that time she’s been a terrible wingman but an ardent supporter. When his dad died, she was at the funeral with him. She’s the one who encourages him to work towards something, not just work to get by, and even pulled strings to help him get into Grimmbrook University’s art program at. He’s started taking classes here and there, but doesn’t have the heart to tell her that he’s not sure he can do it. He doesn’t want to let her down like he let his dad down so many times, but thinks he might.
ARIELA LOPEZ – Ariela is the friend he turns to when he needs to let loose. She's always known how to have a good time. He may not party as hard as he did before his accident, but Tyler still knows how to enjoy himself. Ariela was also the eyewitness who placed Mike at the accident. When she heard that Tyler might get charged, she sent in an anonymous tip and that tip was corroborated by video footage. Tyler doesn’t know any of this but Mike has also always been a strictly off-limits subject since the accident.
ALEXANDER YAO – The guy annoys the shit out of Tyler. He walks around like he’s Mother Teresa, saving all the poor souls in Grimmbrook from their terrible, pointless lives. He always tries to make conversation with Tyler when he sees him at the University. That alone is enough to make him want to drop out altogether. There’s something about someone who has their shit together like Alexander does, that pisses him off a bit. He acts like he’s some great hero and all his accomplishments are his own, seemingly owing nothing to the fact that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He wouldn’t be half the man he thinks he is had it not been for a good start in life. Just hearing Alexander’s name makes him bristle and roll his eyes.
DANIEL MICKEY – The asshole he found out tried to take a blood sample while he was unconscious in the ER. He’d never been one for authority figures, but this guy takes the cake. Tyler can’t help but make snide remarks whenever he comes in contact with the detective and it's not like he’s Daniel’s favorite person either. If it wasn't for the fact that Daniel could throw his ass in jail, and that assaulting civilians was never encouraged behavior for law enforcement, the two would certainly come to blows. If their verbal sparring were physical, it would be a bloodbath.

THE ENCHANTRESS ▶ EDITH KENNEDY ( SURGICAL RESIDENT ● 31 ● ZOË KRAVITZ ● TAKEN )
Edith Kennedy was born to brilliant parents. Both Harvard trained surgeons: her mom, Elaine, was a cardiothoracic surgeon and her father, Alfred, was a neurosurgeon. She was a bright child, always several years ahead of her own, eager to learn something new. By the time she was in fourth grade, her school recommended that she be put two years above her age level. It wasn’t that she was a bookworm, it was more that most things just came naturally to the young woman who was just naturally gifted, even through her second year of medical school at Harvard.
The winter she was twenty-four, she and some friends were driving up to Grimmbrook to stay with her parents for a long weekend away from school but they never made it. A drunk driver hit them, they caught ice and spun out of control, wrapping around a tree. Edith was driving and by some magic or miracle, she was not killed like her two friends. She was in the hospital for a month after the accident and rehab facilities for a month after that.
She ended up testifying against the drunk driver once she was out of the hospital and the entire trial was an ordeal she’d have rather not faced but knew she had to for her friends' sake and their families’ peace of mind.
Going back to Harvard seemed less and less likely the longer she was out of the program. She had frequent recurring headaches that bloomed into migraines for nearly a year that made studying harder. It didn’t matter how much pull her parents had at Harvard, she wasn’t cut out for it anymore. Rather than give up fully on her dream, however, Edith took a few months to apply to some other universities, closer to home, and ended up getting into Grimmbrook University’s program.
It was hard at first, adjusting to being home, dealing with survivors guilt even years on, and working to catch up and still do well in the medical program. Though it wasn’t nearly as easy as it might’ve been before her accident, she’s since passed all her medical exams and is in her second year of her surgical residency at the hospital.
CONNECTIONS ▶
ISABEL DUMAS: Growing up in Grimmbrook, Isabel was her best friend. They were thicker than thieves and though Edith ended up skipping a few grades, they remained close until she went to Harvard with Edith being a fierce protector of Isabel. After her accident, Isabel was one of the few friends consistently by her side, always checking in on her which Edith appreciated more than words could say. They’re always honest with each other but Edith has yet to tell Isabel that she’s not a fan of Casper. She saw him leaving The Candy House a few months back and thought it was weird, and then she saw him buying a necklace that Isabel never got and she thinks it’s weird but she wants to be sure if he’s cheating before she says anything to Isabel.
LEON BERNARD: She and Isabel went to The Rabbit Hole’s opening a few years back and ended up chatting with Leon and his brother a good portion of the night. He's always talking about new ideas and Edith admires that. She’s been on one path for so long, she’s not sure what it would be like to switch interests so often. He doesn’t seem like the brightest crayon in the box but he’s got a good heart and is a good friend.
CHE PADILLA: They’ve been friends for a while and though she wouldn’t tell him what to do or who to work for, she thinks if you’re scared of your boss, it’s time to get a new job.
SOPHIA BERNARD-LEWIS: If Sophie’s cousin’s a bit of an idiot, she’s definitely not. They hang out sometimes and both have a big workload but Edith helps Sophia study sometimes. She knows what it’s like to work especially hard for a degree and wants to help her succeed if she can.
ELIAS CHURCH: He came into the ER with a knife wound last year– said it was a work injury but last Edith checked, there weren’t many butchers who somehow lost control of their knives to the point of being stabbed in the side. was tempted to call the police but kept silent because the supervising doctor was silent too. still thinks it’s fishy but hasn't said anything.

LUMIÉRE ▶ LEON BERNARD ( OWNER OF THE RABBIT HOLE ● 37 ● RYAN GOSLING ● OPEN )
Leon was born to Violet and Allen Bernard in Denver and when he was almost two, his parents divorced. A year later, his dad remarried Rose and a year later Cameron was born. Having a brother was great, and growing up in a blended family even more so. His mom was still in the picture and their family was larger and more blended than most, with everyone living in close proximity to each other. But growing up in a large family meant having to work harder to stand out and Leon certainly did that.
He was always a bit of a showman, even from a young age – often enlisting Cameron and their cousin Sophia into his antics. They often played his stagehands for magic tricks, his supporting cast for musical performances and his business partners for lemonade stands. He was always dreaming big, always trying something new and he became known as the idea guy of the family.
These big ideas served him well, getting him into Stanford’s business program and while academics weren’t exactly his strong suit, he managed to get by with some elbow grease and the help of Cameron who followed in his footsteps a year later. Academics weren’t his focus either, so much as charming professors, RA’s and other members of administration. He’s responsible for planning the most successful festivals the school had seen and for being the person everyone wanted to hang out with. Calling him charismatic would’ve been an understatement. He was magnetic.
Post-graduation he decided to open a club in downtown LA, with the help of Cameron, of course, and it was good for a while, pretty successful and vibrant until, five years ago, Leon reneged on a deal he made with someone when he realized they were taking a larger cut than agreed upon. He didn’t know they had ties to a local gang who responded by setting the club on fire one night, with Leon still inside closing up.
It’s a miracle he even survived, with only severe burns on his one arm and torso. It took several months and skin grafts to heal. During his time in the hospital, his family came around him, but none more so than Cameron. His brother got him back on his feet and encouraged him to seek another venture, promising to be with him the entire time. So when Leon found a real estate listing for a shoddy run down place in a town called Grimmbrook, he got an idea and they moved to make that idea a reality. The Rabbit Hole opened three years ago and has been thriving since.
CONNECTIONS ▶
CAMERON BERNARD: Cameron and Leon are half brothers but no one would ever guess that beyond their looks being slightly different. From the time Cameron was born, the two boys were attached at the hip. Leon was always the one dragging his little brother along on his adventures and antics and Cameron joined, mostly to make sure Leon didn’t get himself killed. Their entire lives went this way, Leon leading and Cameron protecting, even if Leon didn’t think he needed protection. They work together like yin and yang and if anyone were to ever hurt or cross Leon’s brother, there’d be hell to pay.
SOPHIA BERNARD-LEWIS: Sophia made Leon and Cameron’s duo into a trio. Leon was responsible for getting her nose out of books every now and then, the only one who could really convince her to play outside and get muddy. She’s like a little sister and the three of them together are inseparable. Sophia’s ex-fiance is on the top of his shitlist for hurting his cousin and he’s made sure to let Sophia know that if she needs anything, just to ask him. Already, he and Cameron agreed to help Sophia cover some of her tuition at Grimmbrook University – it’s just what family does.
SIMON CHURCH: If there’s anything that Leon learned from how his club in LA went, it’s not to mess with the wrong people. But learning a lesson and applying it to real life are two different things. He knows that Simon’s got his own strip club and while they serve different clients for different purposes, Fairy Tails is The Rabbit Hole’s main competition, which makes Simon Leon’s main competition. He’s heard about what the guy can do and doesn’t want to poke the bear but he can’t resist the challenge of doing better than the established strip club.
TYLER DECKER: He’s a riot and the exact type of customer that Leon wants to draw into the club. He sees Tyler as the person who couldn’t give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks about him having a good time and appreciates that. Whenever Tyler’s there, the party is taken to another level, for better or worse.
MICHELLE MIU: Three years ago he saw a property listing and contacted the printed number. Michelle Miu picked up and thus began their dealings. The property he saw would become The Rabbit Hole but before it was a fixer upper. He did a deal with Michelle to get the property at a steal in return for a small percentage of the club’s earnings the first three years. He was happy to pay it at first but is a little less happy now that her cut isn’t so small because of how well the club is doing. They’ve got half a year left in their contract but he’s trying to figure out a way to cut her out sooner than that.

MEGARA ▶ MEAGAN LASKARIS ( FBI SPECIAL AGENT ● 37 ● OLIVIA MUNN ● OPEN )
Meagan always had a knack for getting in trouble. Not because she was mischievous but because she was so damned stubborn, especially if she saw something that wasn’t right. There was no bullying allowed in her presence growing up, unless you wanted to end up rolling on the ground with Meagan yelling at you to be nice.
She and her dad would go camping every summer for two weeks in Montana. It gave her a love for the outdoors – she loved fixing up a tent, fishing with her dad and sleeping under the stars. One trip when she was twelve, he fell and broke his leg. The only outpost was three miles away so she ran there as fast as she could. When they told her they couldn’t send anyone out for another hour, she took off again, saying that she’d help her dad if they wouldn’t. A child running away into the night wasn’t the story they wanted to tell, so they ran after her. She’d forced their hand into doing the right thing. Her dad still tells the story of how she saved him and while he walks with a slight limp she knows it could’ve been worse.
The Laskaris family decided to foster when she was fourteen. As luck would have it, the first child they fostered was a girl her own age, Brianna. Meagan was determined to be friends with the quiet girl and soon, she’d broken through barriers and it turned out that the girls were suited for a life of sisterhood. Brianna’s logical mind tempered Meagan’s impulsive one, and her thoughtful nature complimented Meagan’s lionhearted one.
Their family officially adopted Brianna three years later and the sisters remained best friends since. Both determined to make the world a better place, Brianna got a law degree and Meagan got one in criminal justice before attending Quantico. Working as partners in white collar crime, Meagan gained respect as a force to be reckoned with. She arrived in Grimmbrook this spring, a few months after Brianna. She’s there for her sister but after hearing some chatter about the strange going-ons in town, she figured it was as good an excuse as any to visit in a work capacity as well.
CONNECTIONS ▶
BRIANNA FAIRCHILD: Her sister and best friend. She’d do anything for Brianna, which is why she joined her in Grimmbrook. It’s been a few months since Brianna’s been there and Meagan thought that maybe she’d have resolved everything with her brother by now. Still, she wants to be there to support her until she does. She used some of the strange reports that Brianna had mentioned to her as an excuse to be given leave to go to Grimmbrook for work. She’s there to support her sister but also wonders if she can convince Brianna to get involved in police business, despite the PD making it clear they don’t want their help.
KEITH SLOAN: She’s yet to make the connection between him and Special Agent Liam Sloan whom she learned about in Quantico. Liam Sloan was a hero who saved the lives of dozens of civilians and fellow agents in Germany, in an act that made him a legend that all new recruits aspired to. She wrote a comprehensive analysis on his life-saving actions for one of her courses.
POPPY BELL: She saw her arguing with someone and it looked serious. Meagan stepped in, ready to defend te girl, but she told her to mind her own business. This annoyed her because she was just trying to help. As much as she would love to knock Poppy down, she restrained herself, but the two women can hardly stand to look at each other.
GIO PANICUCCI: Brianna’s birth-brother. She knows how much he means to her sister and of course, she’ll support Brianna no matter what, but she doesn’t want to see her sister get hurt. The fact that Brianna has covered up Gio’s trail already makes her doubt that this is a good idea. She’s skeptical of how innocent his hacking has been but has resisted the urge to look further and risk hurting Brianna. Still, she doesn’t trust him.
DRUSILLA CAMERON: She saw the younger woman tell off some asshole who was hitting on her at a bar and Meagan automatically took a liking to her. In the weeks since she’s been in town, she’s run into Drusilla a few times and gets the sense that, for whatever reason, Drusilla likes talking to her. While Meagan doesn’t know her, she thinks that the younger woman’s got a drive that she admires, though, perhaps if she knew just how cruel she could be that admiration would change.

TIGER LILY ▶ LILY REDSTONE ( EMT● 27 ● AMBER MIDTHUNDER ● TAKEN )
Lily was the youngest of two daughters, growing up on Fort Peck Indian Reservation as part of the Sioux Tribe. She and her sister, Ava, were close despite their age difference and Lily could usually be found imitating whatever Ava was doing, despite Ava being perpetually annoyed by it. Their family was close-knit and she grew up with an appreciation for her people and culture while also integrating more with the community around them as a young girl eager to see the world.
It seemed like when her sister got into Harvard’s medical school, it was paving a path for her to follow. She didn’t get into Harvard, though she applied, but she did get into Boston University and dedicated to go for nursing. She wasn’t sure she was cut out to be a full-fledged doctor like Ava but she wanted to be in Boston near her sister and knew it gave her parent’s peace of mind for her to be there.
For two years she and her sister were roommates until one winter night when Ava and some medical school friends were driving to some town in Vermont for a long weekend. She got the call a little after midnight and her world changed after. Ava had died in a tragic car crash that left one survivor. Their parents flew to Boston to collect her body and Ava took an extended leave of absence from school. By some miracle, BU readmitted her after two years at home. She knew Ava wouldn’t have wanted that for her and was determined to finish her degree.
She finished a year ago and was looking for work in Boston as a nurse, despite not being sure that’s what she wanted to do anymore. Looking through job listings along the East Coast, she saw a familiar name – the town where Ava had been heading to before she died. Not sure if it was a sign from her sister or fate being cruel, Lily took a chance and applied to be an EMT at the local hospital where she’s been working for nine months.
CONNECTIONS ▶
CHAD REDDING: Her shift buddy. They usually get paired together on the same ambulance and get along pretty well. She didn’t know what to say when his sister was murdered but let him know she was there to talk if he wanted, or not. Lily knows what it’s like to want to grieve privately. She’s still got a lot to learn and he hardly ever lets her drive, but they’ve found a steady rhythm working together in the past months, often quizzing each other on random TV facts and debating which movies deserve to be modern classics.
EDITH KENNEDY: Edith killed her sister. She heard the police report and she went to the trial of the guy who was convicted but in Lily’s mind, she blames Edith. After all, she was behind the wheel too and left unscathed. As far as she’s concerned, it’s not fair and seven years later, she still harbors a bitterness toward the other woman. She knew that there was a chance of running into her when she moved to Grimmbrook but didn’t count on how much it would physically hurt to see Edith living her best life without a care in the world.
JACK SUMMER: He’s the type of guy she knows isn’t worth her trouble. He’s seemingly oblivious and maybe not the sharpest pencil but he’s funny and nice and they’ve hung out with mutual friends. Lily knows there are other girls who make eyes at him too, so she shouldn’t bother, but there’s something about him that seems warm. Like he’d never hurt you. And for someone who carries around a lot of hurt, that appeals to her. She’s trying to be bold and thinks she’ll ask him out sometime, unless that Miu girl beats her to it.
ROSIE FLANAGAN: They met when she was dispatched to The Red Apple because someone was having a heart attack and it seemed like Rosie was the only one on the staff remaining calm and collected. Lily appreciated that and thought that Rosie was a lot cooler than people gave her credit for. They’re both also relatively new in town so Lily’s trying to befriend her, seeing if she wants to grab coffee or see a movie on occasion.
ARCHIBALD CROCK: In the months since she met him during a 911 call, Archie’s become something of an unwilling mentor to her. Her new best friend. At least, she thinks so. He’s not a great talker but she doesn’t mind that because it means she can ask more questions about the extent of the law and if it’s possible to arrest someone after a case has been closed. Not that she’s thinking about getting Edith arrested or anything, but it’s good information to have.

THE BLUE FAIRY ▶ BRIANNA FAIRCHILD ( FBI SPECIAL AGENT ● 37 ● ROSAMUND PIKE ● OPEN )
Brianna Fairchild’s parents lived and thrived as criminals. She and her brother Gio were placed in the foster care system when she was 10 and he was 1 year old. She did her best to care for him but it gradually became evident that he was on the spectrum. By the time he was three, their social worker had secured a place for him in a special needs foster home. But there was no place for Brianna. She begged to keep them together but the social worker convinced her that this was best for him and she could visit once a month.
She knew she was becoming a stranger to him and nothing scared her more, but at least things couldn’t get worse. When he was old enough and better adjusted they could be together again. That’s what she told herself. But when their parents were killed in a firefight with the police, that hope dwindled. They became wards of the state and it was only a matter of time before Gio was adopted at five years old. It was the worst day of Brianna’s life. The older couple that adopted him was kind, she met them once, but by then she’d barely seen Gio for two years and he hardly recognized her as more than a nice stranger. They couldn’t handle more than one child so, once again, there was no place for Brianna.
She tried to stay in contact but when his new family moved out of state, intentionally or not, the line was severed and Brianna was on her own. She was a tough kid – smart and determined to make something of herself. She was determined not to waste her life away like her parents nor lose anyone again like she’d lost Gio. Her last foster family nurtured this spunk and drive in her for three years and right before her eighteenth birthday the Laskaris officially adopted her.
It was almost a new lease on life, going into her adult years as Brianna Fairchild-Laskaris, with a family at her back and a future ahead of her, she pursued a law degree and in her mid-twenties was accepted into the FBI Academy. Specializing in white collar crime, and using her birth name professionally, she rose in rank and gained respect from her colleagues. Traveling to Grimmbrook for personal reasons on leave, she remains vigilant as the town seems to be crawling with suspicious activity and mysterious events.
CONNECTIONS ▶
GIO PANICUCCI: Her baby brother. Brianna never gave up on finding him, even as the years separating them grew. When she found him, she was glad to see he had a good life. She doubted he even remembered having a sister. Still, she kept tabs on him, uncertain of what she’d do when some activity was flagged, something having to do with hacking. Brianna has covered some of his digital footprint, at least until she figures out if what he’s engaging in is real criminal activity. She came to Grimmbrook at the start of the year and isn’t sure how to approach Gio. What she is sure about is that whatever he’s involved in, too much time has passed and she needs to reach out. There’s never been a day she hasn’t thought of him.
MEAGAN LASKARIS: Brianna’s adopted sister. From the time she came to the Laskaris home when they were both 14, the two hit it off. She’d never had a close friend before and Meagan became her best friend. They were yin and yang, working perfectly together. Where Brianna was analytical and observant, Meagan was bold and lionhearted. The heart to Brianna’s brain. They were accepted into Quantico together and have been partners in the FBI together for several years now. There’s no one she’d rather have her back.
FARISHKA DUGAL: She has a bad feeling about the woman. She’s not necessarily in town to work any particular case but she can’t help but feel that whatever Farishka is doing can’t be good. There’s a part of herself warning her not to pull at the thread, and then another part that can’t help but have a nose for these things. For now, she’s not doing anything, but if she ever finds out about Farishka pressuring Gio to help her, there’d be hell to pay.
BRANDON WOLFE: She appreciates everything the town’s sheriff is handling with recent events and to avoid sitting idle, she’s offered her help on the Madison Redding case that’s yet to be taken up. Something tells her this case is personal and she can imagine why – when a young woman gets murdered under your watch, you can’t rest until the culprit is caught. In the meantime, she’s working on a backlog of cases but is ready to help if asked.
RACHEL GARCÍA: A few years ago she and Meagan were tracking a con-artist who showed up in Arizona but lost their trail two week before they had enough evidence to bring them in. Records scrubbed, names changed, no longer in state. She doesn’t know that Rachel García was that person, nor that she’s settled in Grimmbrook but if she ever connects the dots, it’s only a matter of time before she starts her search for evidence once again.

THE FAIRY GODMOTHER ▶ IDA LAWSON ( MIDNIGHT PUB MANAGER ● 39 ● MINKA KELLY ● TAKEN)
Ida Lawson wasn’t supposed to be alive; she wasn’t even a planned pregnancy. Her mother wanted one daughter, one to spoil, one to push into everything. So when Marisol gave birth to her first daughter, Kate, she wasn’t really looking for another baby, especially for what she was told about Ida. In the womb, there was always one baby that had more movement, and just healthier you know? And when it came, the doctors warned Marisol of the other twin’s activity, or well, lack thereof. So when she had Kate, who was moving and screaming, crying at the top of her lungs, Marisol was just happy to have a healthy baby first, never thinking that a screaming baby was such a good sound. But when Ida was born, nine minutes later, she never made a sound, hell; she didn’t even open her eyes. But despite her deathly composure, right before the doctor was about to pronounce her, Ida began to scream, much louder than Kate had, crying and what not; just a little late, but all the more heart-attack inducing. And so, from this little event within a few minutes of her life, she had the middle name, Faith, faith to bounce back, given to her by her father.
But that was one of the last times that Ida knew of her mother’s concern. From that point onward it seemed that she was always in Kate’s shadow. Of course when she and Kate were little girls, children, they were put into every extracurricular activity known under the sun, but it was Kate who always got the shiny gold, Kate who got the attention. Things changed as they got older. Middle school went by seamlessly as she flowed into high school. She became one of the most popular girls in school, funny, loud, just herself that happened to make friends so easily. It did help that she looked like more of a girl that her now socially inept sister, Kate.
When the girls were seventeen, her sister disappeared. They said the last time she was seen was when she was walking home from school and a white van approached her. No plates, no leads, no suspects. It was as if she had disappeared into thin air. Her parents became obsessed trying to find her and all the stress eventually drove them apart.
Six years ago Kate’s remains were found outside of a town called Grimmbrook. Ida wanted to find out what happened and it was never her intention to actually stay in town. Yet for some reason she can't bear the though of leaving. Not without finding out the truth.
CONNECTIONS ▶
Farishka Dugal: When Ida first met Farishka, she was this gorgeous mysterious woman who showed a special interest in her. She fell for her fast and hard, and the two got married within little time of knowing each other. For years, she was blissfully unaware of Farishka’s real line of work, and they were happy. They were discussing the possibility of having a child when Ida found out the truth. She tried to be okay with it, that was how much she loved Farishka, but in the end thinking about how their child would be raised around that kind of business made up her mind that as long as Farishka is involved with illicit drugs and organized crime, she can’t be with her.
Noah Cameron: Upon first meeting, Ida thought he was polite, respectful, decent. She saw the way he treated Ella’s mother and thought he was pretty much prince charming. Then, slowly, she picked up on details, and when Ella finally told her about how the Camerons treated her, she decided that Noah Cameron isn’t a good man. She can’t be sure he had a finger on his late wife’s death, of course, but he doesn’t need to be a murderer to be a bad guy in her eyes. And to Ida, his biggest crime is not treating Ella as a daughter. That particular subjects hits too close to home for her to ignore.
Ella Gertrude: Ida has hit it off with Ella as soon as she first met the girl. Hardworking, down to earth and with a heart of gold, Ida thinks the world of her. She was heartbroken to hear about her situation at home, and quick to offer her own place as a sort of safe space for Ella to stay in. After her divorce, the house feels a little too quiet anyway. She tries her best to make sure Ella stands up for herself and backs her up whenever she has the chance. She thinks of her as a sort of little sister.
Declan Vasquez: Ida had spent the night keeping an eye on all the customers at Midnight Pub. She saw one man downing drink after drink. To make matters worse, she saw him grab his car keys and drive away. She knew that was dangerous, and called the police to make sure he didn’t hurt anyone. It was too late, but at least they caught the guy. She knows Declan knows she called the police, and he doesn’t seem too happy about it. Of course the complaint was quickly gotten rid of by the Triton Group, and Declan still comes to the Midnight Pub often to rub that on her face.
Anastasia and Drusilla Cameron: Despite her general discontentment with the Camerons’ behavior towards Ella, Ida finds it in herself to forgive the spoiled Cameron girls. She thinks they are still young, and following their father’s example rather than having a mind of their own on the matter. She hopes they will come around and realize that family has nothing to do with blood, and tries to offer advice here and there as someone with a lot more life experience than them.

THE SCARED LITTLE PIG ▶ DANIELLE MASON ( STRIPPER ● 32 ● IMOGEN POOTS ● TAKEN )
As the baby of the family Danielle always felt safe and protected by her brothers. She was always looking up to them and yearning to get down and dirty like one of the boys. Oh how she loved to grow up in a farm and being around animals all day. Really, she wished she had been born a boy so she could be outside feeding the pigs and the horses and the cows. Instead she was meant to stay inside and help her mother in the kitchen, something that at a very young age she found incredibly sexist. Especially when she was better at riding horses and doing manual labor than most of the boys she knew.
She had ran off with her brother Luke one day and when they returned their house was in flames. Sam was hysterical and she watched from the sidelines as both of her brothers tried to save her parents from burning alive. It was a shock, and an event that traumatized her to the point where nightmares became a regularity.
Her brothers tried their best to help her deal with the trauma the best way they could, even going as far as stealing antidepressants and other medications from the local pharmacy in the hopes that they’d help her cope. Nothing worked. Danielle learned to live with her depression and only found excitement when she was working a job with her brothers. Even that had to come to an end when they were arrested for robbing the Grimmbrook National Bank.
Danielle spent 6 months in jail and was released after Samuel pleaded guilty and made a deal to save her. Back in the world without an education, or any work experience, she did the only thing she could think of to make a living. It’s not like she wants to be a stripper, but what other choice does she have?
CONNECTIONS ▶
Luke Mason: Ever since she can remember, her brothers have been there, looking after her, and while she was eternally grateful, things got a little more complicated between them when she started taking care of herself. Luke is specially disapproving of her working at the strip joint, and since he decided he’s too good for his family, they haven’t talked much.
Samuel Mason: Unlike Luke, Samuel respects her decision to become a stripper and pay her own damn bills. She doesn’t love it that he shows up at the club to check up on her, but she understands that he worries. She has always felt left out for not only being younger and girl, but also because the twins were naturally closer. Now that Luke has turned his back on them, Sam has been relying on her more, which might get her in trouble, but is also very validating.
Joseph Maddox: Danielle used to have a harmless crush on Joseph, he was her older brothers’ cute friend, but after he drove off and left them to the police, she lost all respect and admiration for him. Feeling betrayed for her brothers and herself, whenever she comes across Joseph, she can’t help but become hostile. As far as she’s concerned, Joseph has a long way to go before earning their forgiveness.
Ariela Lopez: For a girl like Danielle, whose lifestyle defies society’s expectations, befriend a bartender is a treat. Not only does it come with alcoholic perks, but also Ariela’s unique ability to listen without getting judgmental. It’s always a good time when the two get together.
Henry Chairman: Danielle hasn’t been able to count on many people other than her brothers in her life, so when Henry got her out of jail, she felt eternally grateful. They ran into each other at the strip club and she assured him that a lap dance was part of a professional relationship for her since it’s part of her work, but she can’t help but feel a little attracted to him.

THE BIG BAD WOLF ▶ BRANDON WOLFE ( TOWN SHERIFF ● 36 ● CHRIS EVANS ● TAKEN )
Brandon didn’t have a good childhood. Growing up in a trailer park with a mean old drunk with a bad temper for a father and as the youngest of five boys, he was often teased by his brothers for being “too soft”. However he was his mother’s favorite, something that his father and brothers greatly resented.
He was very young when his father shot his mother to death, taking his sons with him and leaving Brandon behind with his mother’s corpse. It took local authorities 2 days to find him in a state of shock. Fueled by his loss, Brandon personally swore vengeance but after searching for his father for years he was unable to find him. He shoved aside his futile attempts to avenge his mother and buried his hatred and grief.
Even though he is known for his violent nature, it did not stop Brandon from being elected Sheriff. Perhaps in the beginning he wanted to make a difference but he quickly realized that the title came with all the power and authority that had been denied to him all his life. He has been the cigarette-smoking, bad mouthed sheriff of the small town of Grimmbrook for five years and during that time he has earned more enemies than friends.
He is extremely cunning, resourceful and vicious if he believes the situation calls for it. Shoot first, ask questions if he feels like it. Yet, even with all his flaws he is an excellent detective with an impressive track record in solving cases that include murder and disappearances. His latest unsolved case being the murder of Madison Redding.
CONNECTIONS ▶
Ella Gertrude: Brandon and Ella met 4 years ago when he saved her from a mugger. Sparks flew and they got married but their marital bliss didn’t last long. After a year of pointless bickering they both agreed that divorce was the best way to go. Now they try to avoid one another as much as possible.
Isabel Dumas: Brandon found her one day walking aimlessly in the middle of the night. She was drunk and in emotional distress after having a huge fight with her boyfriend. He took her home and has been checking up on her ever since. Something about her relationship with Casper Du Pont doesn’t feel right.
Casper Du Pont: Brandon doesn’t like him. He thinks he’s a pompous ass who believes he can get away with everything just because he owns half the town. Worst part is, the bastard isn’t wrong. They are constantly at each other’s throats.
Luke Mason: Brandon and Luke have a very strange relationship. They have known each other for a long time which is why Brandon has turned a blind eye to a lot of things Luke has done. Currently Luke is crashing in Brandon’s couch after having a falling out with his siblings.
Harlyn Rousseau: Brandon was onto the Rousseau sibling’s operations when Harlyn decided to get in front of a bad situation. He offered Brandon a small percentage of their monthly back-of-house revenue to keep quiet. And, as an added bonus, if Brandon ever needed funds laundered or any documents forged, The Candy House would provide them as a courtesy. It was too good a deal for Brandon to pass up so they’ve had a partnership going for a while now.

CINDERELLA ▶ ELLA GERTRUDE ( BARTENDER ● 30 ● KAT GRAHAM ● TAKEN )
Ella’s childhood was indescribably happy, the little girl was born into wealth and doted on by her parents. When her father fell ill, he passed away within months, leaving both Ella and her mother devastated. Perhaps it was that despair that blinded her to Noah Cameron’s intentions, and led the woman to marry him within a year of meeting the man. Her mother was happy again, for which Ella was content, but despite her efforts, it didn’t seen like the Camerons were all too happy she was part of the package.
It was when her mother suffered an accident and died that Ella’s life was left in the hands of the Camerons and changed forever. Forced to work for them to earn her place in her own house as soon as her mother was in the ground, Ella had to fend off for herself under the verbal abuse and humiliation she suffered at home.
She thought she had found her way out when she married Brandon Wolfe, but when that resulted in divorce, she was back in the house. This time, however, she wasn’t quite as easy to push around, and when she had had enough of their abuse, she moved in with a friend.
Working at the family’s business isn’t ideal, but she can’t afford to be out of a job if she ever wants to find a place of her own, and the abuse is much more mild now that it doesn’t happen behind closed doors. Still, she is prepared to fight for her family home now that she knows her own damn worth, and won’t let anybody take anything else from her ever again.
CONNECTIONS ▶
Noah Cameron: Ella and her step-father were never close, but ever since her mother passed away, his disregard for her became obvious. She suffered years of abuse under the thumb of the Camerons, leading her to moving out of the house. She still works at the family’s pub, however, and is forced to endure their presence in her life.
Anastasia and Drusilla Cameron: Ella has wanted to befriend her step-sisters since she first met them, but they never really gave her a chance. She thinks the two are spoiled and arrogant and not at all like her, and has abandoned the hope to ever become part of their family.
Henry Chairman: After she moved in with Ida, Ella started looking into taking legal action against the Camerons to get back her childhood home. She has been consulting Henry ever since, and the two have been talking how to go about it. Ella thinks he’s very charming, but since her convoluted divorce, she’s not keen on pursuing something serious, and mixing business and pleasure never ends well, as they say.
Ida Lawson: Ella sees Ida not only as a co-worker, but also as a friend, perhaps even family. She and Ariela make her job at the Midnight Pub bearable, and she has recently moved in with Ida when she decided she had had enough of the Camerons. Ida’s nurturing response to her has given her back something she had lost with her mother.
Brandon Wolfe: Ella thought she had found her very own prince charming 4 years ago when Brandon saved her during a mugging, but he turned out to be only a toad. After years of bickering and fighting through their problems, they signed the divorce papers. If only the town wasn’t too small for them to avoid each other completely...

CHIP ▶ THEODORE BECK ( MARKETING MANAGER AT THE SHERWOOD/CON ARTIST ● 27 ● BERK ATAN ● OPEN )
Originally born Adrian Adams, Theodore was adopted when he was just two month old, his parents having died in a mugging gone wrong when he was three weeks old. The Hernández family, who’d been friends of his parents, adopted him as soon as they could. Hector and Sarah were his new parents, Rachel his new sister. He was a precocious child, charming and a bit of a trouble maker. Theodore was usually an instigator in class, getting other kids to follow his ideas. Whether it was stealing candy from the prize chest in his classroom or hiding on the playground when everyone went in after recess – Theodore had a story for everything.
At eight, his parents were involved in a hit and run, leaving him an orphan again and calling Rachel back home. She was twenty-one now and he clung to her for safety and stability. Doing all that she could to keep them afloat and off the streets, she moved them around and taught him how to tell stories at a level he never knew existed. The way she taught him got them free room and board in hotels, free meals at restaurants and free clothes at shops. Somehow she had the magic words to con people into helping them and he learned from her quickly.
Together, the two Herández siblings traveled the country and managed to make a living for themselves weaving together tall tales. As he got older, he passed himself off as Rachel’s friend instead of her son, and they made more money than they ever had before. During these travels, she kept him learning. He devoured books on various topics and became well read enough to pass himself off as experts in many areas, at least to those who weren’t experts themselves. He’s passed himself off as a surgical resident, a nurse, a law student, eventually a lawyer, accountant, real estate agent, chef and others.
Most recently, after a big job in North Dakota, where he and Rachel conned 1.5 million, they settled in Grimmbrook. He got a position as a marketing manager at the Sherwood Hotel without any real credentials, under the name Theodore Beck. He’s been great, earning praise from higher ups and given more responsibility. It’s convenient because he uses the booking systems to note potential marks and relays that information to Rachel. He doesn’t know how long they’ll be in town, but it’s a good gig for now.
CONNECTIONS ▶
RACHEL GARCIA - adopted sister. She’s been part of his life for as long as he can remember and has been everything from a mother figure to sister to partner in crime. She took care of him when he was young and mentored him as he got older. He’s grown into quite the con artist because of her tutelage and he’s incredibly grateful for her. He’s traveled with Rachel because you don’t leave the only family you have left. Though they pass themselves off as good friends who met at a charity event, they’re siblings through and through –– family is more than blood.
ANASTASIA CAMERON - She’s rich and successful and has done a few trunk shows with her sister at the hotel so he’s worked with her on marketing the events. He’s his most charming self around her and is weighing how much he can con from her and her sister against how hard her father will come down on him and Rachel if he ever caught them. He’s not done anything yet, but it’s always a thought at the back of his mind.
DANIEL MICKEY - It’s always better to be friendly with the police if possible – all the better to ensure no suspicion is cast in his direction. They met during an auction taking place in the hotel’s ballroom to raise money for the police and Theodore honed in on him as someone to befriend. Now, he usually buys Daniel coffee if they end up in line together at a cafe, thanking him for his service around town.
SOPHIA BERNARD-LEWIS - She works at the hotel in housekeeping and the two are decent work acquaintances. On the rare occasion he’s covering the front desk and sees her come into work, he always pretends to be welcoming one of the hotel's most esteemed guests, usually garnering a few impressed stares from other patrons and an annoyed look from Sophia.
CHAD REDDING - An actual friend. Theodore doesn’t have many and while his entire identity is a lie, “Theodore” considers Chad a friend he can hang out with. They met during an early morning workout and have made a habit of meeting up at the Golden Goose gym at the same time five or six days a week. They haven’t been friends for a super long time, so he wasn’t really able to be a great support in light of Madison’s death but he’s let Chad know he’s there if he wants to talk.

THE LITTLE MERMAID ▶ ARIELA LOPEZ ( BARTENDER ● 31 ● MELISSA BARRERA ● TAKEN )
As the daughter of Alberto Lopez, President of the Republic of Mexico, Ariela was given the best of everything, spoiled and praised for her beauty. She was always in the public eye, received the best education and traveled every corner of the world with her parents. But with power came danger and Ariela learned that lesson at the tender age of 13 when she was kidnapped and held for ransom.
After 4 days in captivity she was finally released to her family but the event left more than a few emotional scars for Alberto who decided to step down from office that same year. Ariela on the other hand seemed to be recovering from the trauma exceptionally well or too well according to her father. From that day forward, Alberto kept Ariel on a tight leash. Telling her that the world was not a safe place and that she shouldn’t wander around on her own. She was relentless, unstoppable even. Ariela was not going to let this horrible event define her entire life.
The moment she turned 18 she kissed her father goodbye and even though he disapproved of her leaving he knew he couldn’t stop her. Ariela hitchhiked across the country, working several jobs and sleeping on couches. Was not until she reached Grimmbrook that she fell in love with one place and decided to stay for more than a few months. She got a job as a bartender and has never told anyone that she is actually considered Mexican royalty.
People may call her a hippie or bohemian, but that doesn't bother her at all because the number one most important thing about Ariela is her sense of freedom. Being free is the most important skill to have, and yes it is a skill. Being free from fear mostly, being free from the fear of living your own life. Letting loose and making sure you never regret. Freedom is about letting yourself be happy. Free spiritually, free from hate. Free to accept all different types of your fellow men or women. Freedom, to Ariela, is about allowing yourself to take joy in the simple beauty of everything around you in the natural world as well as appreciating each human form for its natural complexities. Whether she's bartending or strumming her guitar, whether she's laying in the grass, watching clouds drift by or running through a summer rain storm, whether she's making candles with friends or feeding birds in the park – Ariela is free in every sense of the word. She knows what it's like not to be and refuses to let herself experience anything like that ever again.
CONNECTIONS ▶
Noel Enriquez: Ariela met Noel in very difficult circumstances. She heard a gunshot and ran towards it, finding the man bleeding by the lake. She immediately called 911 and worked on stopping the bleeding. Something weird happened to him, however, because it seems like he’s going through some amnesia now, and he only trusts Ariela, the woman who saved him. She is doing her best to help him, but this is definitely not what she signed up for.
Ursula Gallegos: The woman was quick to point a finger at her as the culprit of Noel’s attempted murder. Why was she there? How convenient to save a rich man’s life, huh? Ariela really doesn’t like her or the fact that she seems to be building a case against her, but she really doesn’t know what to do about it.
Ella Gertrude: Working at the Midnight Pub, Ariela has found a good friend in her co-worker, Ella. The two have way too much fun when the boss isn’t around. When a drunk gets out of hand, they also have each other’s back. Ariela knows that a good part of why she likes Grimmbrook so much is for the people in there, and Ella is one of them.
Noah Cameron: The big boss man. Ariela tries to keep their relationship professional, but it’s really hard not to be upset with him given everything that has happened with Ella, her mother and the will. At first impression, she thought he was a very polite, handsome man, but now all she sees is a man trying to sabotage her friend’s life.
Danielle Mason: Ariela likes to hang out with Dani, the two share a fondness for adventure and maybe even a little recklessness, but she feels a little bad about keeping secrets from her. She feels like telling Dani she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth would be somehow betraying everything they have, just two girls living one day at a time. How would Dani react to knowing despite all these adventures, she can always go home to her father’s luxurious house?
