If you follow me, you know that I’m a crossover au person, like, I LOVE THEM lmao. One I was thinking about recently was a Voltron x DC crossover.
Of course I had Keith as Batman, and I was originally gonna have Allura as Wonder Woman and Lance as Superman. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized the while Allura’s personality fit Diana’s, her actual backstory fit much better with Superman’s. This then, in turn, made me think of a crossover where LANCE is Wonder Woman, or well, Wonder Man, and Allura is Superman (Superwoman).
And now I’m obsessed with the idea of Lance as a stand in for Wonder Woman and how fun that would be to write. His backstory could be around the same as Diana’s, being the child of Hippolyta and Zeus, but instead of killing him or something adjacent, as Amazonians would do to their sons (in some of the DC stories), Queen Hippolyta decided to go against the rules and raise him, much to the chagrin of all the other Amazonians. This could then result in a myriad of problems that he would have to face. Or if you look at other DC stories that just say boys are never born of Amazonian mothers, then his backstory could be his mother was cursed by another God who was angry at Zeus to have a son, or whatever.
I just think it would be so fun to write about honestly. Might even draw something about it.

Three Wishes Institute - A TWST fanschool
Reposting this as I’ve changed my URL which broke all the links in my previous lore post, and since I’ve gotten a lot of new followers lately and wanted them to be able to read it properly.
Tumblr media
First off, as a concept, Three Wishes is a fanschool for twisted wonderland that involves characters that are considered ‘side’ or ‘background’ or even ‘comic relief’ characters from disney franchises. Right now I only have 6 dorms, and characters range from being on both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ sides of a story.
Here’s the lore rundown for the main school itself and a brief summary on the dorms and characters I will be designing for them. Under readmore cause this is HELLA long and I don’t want to make people scroll for forever:
The overall story of Three Wishes:
The Headmistress and Master, Amelia Bell and Reed Dearly (based on Anita and Roger from 101 dalmatians), only recently got the school property. Before them, the school was known to be really rundown, a failure, and pretty much on the verge of closing. While it was a school for magic, it was like all the magic was zapped out of the school itself. It was filled with delinquents and very few students who actually cared. Most dropped out if anything.
Amelia was a teacher at the school for a little over a year and the only teacher that students really respected and bothered showing up to class for. She hated seeing the school in the state it was in and tried pleading with the headmistress of the school to try and change things - however was constantly told it was too late and that the school would be closing. It did, and Amelia had to look for jobs elsewhere. But she couldn’t shake the feeling that she could have done more and found herself drawn back to the crumbling school on more than one occasion. She decided to sneak in one day to see if she could find a hint of anything from the old headmistress - who had disappeared without a trace - to see if she could get in contact with her. This wasn’t her idea of course, but her (boyfriend at the time) Reed’s.
Eventually they did track down the headmistress and found her terribly ill. Amelia insisted that the two of them care for her, despite all that the headmistress had done to shun Amelia beforehand. They did, and during that time Amelia explained the hopes she had previously had for the school - she said how she wanted a school that anyone could feel welcome to apply, and not have some special ceremony for acceptance (like the carriages for NRC). She believed people could be equals and that as a magical community they should all help one another. The old headmistress was moved by Amelia’s words and when she back to health she revealed herself to be a powerful sorceress (the enchantress from Beauty and the Beast. No design as of now). She explained she had been looking for a worthy successor for the school and her magic but didn’t find Amelia fitting at the time, but saw the kindness in Amelia’s heart and offered her the deed to the school and the surrounding grounds. She wanted to see what Amelia would do with the school and was interested if she could really bring a community together like she explained. Then, she disappeared.
Amelia and Reed worked to renovate the school, taking nearly 2 years on the project. Amelia comes from a wealthy family, but even then funds were not endless, so a lot of fundraising was done to also raise awareness for the reopening school. At first there wasn’t much interest but it slowly got more and more traction. With donations and family money, they were able to complete the school. The two of them also got engaged during this time. Even with them rebuilding the mainschool and doing some maintenance on the dorms themselves, there are some secrets that even the two of them are still learning, as the sorceress took off before giving them the full details on the school itself.
The school’s aim is to not only teach its students magic, but the foundation of being a good person, being helpful and selfless. The school holds a lot of community and fundraising events, and there is even a mandatory volunteering class where students have to spend a certain amount of hours volunteering for a local community service. This school hopes to bridge the gap between the elite and average magic users, showing that deep down everyone is human and deserving of respect and a chance to grow.
This school doesn't have completely different areas for the dorms and it's all actually located on a large campus ground. The main school building is about 4 stories, there's a greenhouse and an auditorium in separate buildings.
The dorms are all two or three stories and are all relatively distant from each other, enough to give each dorm a good spot of land around it. Think a mansion with a large yard. When passing through the front gate for the dorm there's magic that makes it appear in a slightly different scenery - so the students don't always have the school looming in the background and can relax. The dorm's scenery is different between each dorm and it can change with each 'dorm representative'.
There aren't really dorm 'leaders' as there are representatives. Normally about two or three for each dorm - though can only be one if the person proves themselves to be capable / no one else is voted. Each dorm will have a meeting once a month to go over things that the dorm needs to address either internally or with the school or other dorms, and then the representatives bring those concerns to a meeting with the school's staff and other dorm representatives. Think more like a student council and class presidents. The representatives make almost all decisions together. Reps are voted for each year within a dorm, and the voting is taken pretty seriously.
The dorm rep duties outside of the meetings is mostly just like a college RA. They make sure people are following the rules, help solve problems between students in their dorm, plan and hold events, etc.
The dorms:
While students are separated into dorms in this school, the headmaster and mistress try to stress the fact that they are all one community. Friendly rivalry is encouraged but ultimately the matter of dorms is just where the students end up living and placing them near people who can better help those around them. The two in charge don’t want the dorms to become too competitive or to alienated from one another - so there’s actually a lot of cross dorm events and even friends staying over at other friends dorms for days on end at times.
As a note, as long as it’s not inappropriate, students are encouraged to wear anything they want as their ‘dorm uniform’. Standard school uniforms are required on the main campus but as Headmaster Reed puts it - there’s no reason for them to tell the students what to wear in their own house. Plus, the school isn’t as well funded as most other private schools, so not having a lot of uniforms to keep up with is better for them in the long run. They don’t even have a formal ceremonial robe like NRC does, but I will be posting about the uniforms in a different post.
Now onto the dorms themselves.
Cinderella dorm: Nightingale Founded on the hard work and dedication of a princess’s companions, members of this dorm are no strangers to teamwork and getting the job done. It’s said that there’s no miracle students in this dorm can’t pull off in a short amount of time. Members of this dorm are close and they will drop anything they’re doing to help another.
Read the profiles for the students apart of this dorm here!
Snow White: Diamanttobar Founded on the tradition and devotion of miners, members of this dorm specialize in working long hours and putting 100% into everything they do.They might be hard to win over, but once you have their companionship little will shake their loyalty. Students here notice the smaller details and are said to be able to craft nearly anything.
Read the profiles for the students apart of this dorm here!
Aladdin: Wondrous Founded on the cleverness and protective instincts of a royal couple’s most trusted confidants, members of this dorm sometimes have questionable methods but overall have hearts of gold. Students in this dorm are proactive in calling out unfair rules and try to work for changes and reforms to improve the lives of those around them.
Read the profiles for the students apart of this dorm here!
Mulan: Guardian Founded on the honor and strength of dragons, students of this dorm are known to follow a code of honor and are very protective of one another. They are great with helping other student’s physical and mental well beings, acting as trainers and confidants.
Read the profiles for the students apart of this dorm here!
AiW: Lapinhole Founded on the curiosity and madness of a queen’s subjects, members of this dorm are known to be eccentric and creative. A lot of students in this dorm are mysterious and have a strange method of helping others, but even through the confusion a lot of students rely on students from this dorm for a little more fun in their lives.
Read the profiles for the students apart of this dorm here!
Beauty and the Beast: Servireu Founded on the faith and loyalty of a Beast Prince’s servants, members of this dorm are known to be generous, not judgemental, and helpful to those around them. A lot of these students are at the top of their classes and are known for being excellent tutors for others. Though a little eccentric, they obviously mean well and have good intentions.
Read the profiles for the students apart of this dorm here!
Annnnddd that’s it! I plan to possibly redo my dorm lore dump post aswell as make a separate post for the uniforms once I have them designed. also the staff will be getting their own posts aswell when I finish their designs too.

shin sekai yori as classic literature archetypes
satoru: knight/defender archetype. all his biggest actions in the series (war arc, psychobuster) involve protecting his friends. he also has a better head for battle & strategy than saki (hes the one whos the boss in the tokyo arc, after all) and overall comes off as one of the more violent/unhinged kids. goes with how he and akki are foils. also the fact that he reveals this ancient information to saki (the prince) and ends up being her right-hand man.
shun: sage archetype. the intelligence and advanced power is part of this, but its also partly how he loses control, and the way he tells saki a story as hes dying, and the story of the karma demon is all fairy tale-esque–mages are usually supposed to be lost to the annals of history, ancient and unfathomable and powerful. his pug can be seen as a familiar, and his home had a tree growing through the center- not unlike a wizards tower. wisdom and intelligence versus disconnectedness
saki: prince (hero) archetype. obviously shes the one who takes control from tomiko and the one who grants squealer mercy, but theres also the way she observes all the monster rat battles (summer camp arc, at the start of the final section). shes the one who tries to rescue everyone (all  her friends, the townspeople, tomiko) and shes the one with power over satoru (knight archetype). shes also obviously the protagonist, and theres here vanquishing the monster rats and yadda yadda yadda. strength and courage versus arrogance (the belief that her society is the best there can be; as a child, that she is smarter than the adults around her)
maria: mother archetype. “stubbornness, persistence, strength, patience”. theres also the inherent nurturing quality (one could argue marias relationships with both saki AND mamoru are born less of eroticism and more out of protective instinct). the fact that she would rather run away than let mamoru die, and then she died for her daughter anyway. this archetype isnt much, but i do think its what yusuke kishi intended- maria isnt there to do much but to look pretty and be nice. honestly, im almost tempted to nail on the martyr archetype along with this, but. meh.
mamoru: this one was the hardest cause like....mamoru doesnt really have a character? anyways it sounds silly but werewolf archetype. a seemingly normal man (he seems normal to team 1, at least) hiding a dark secret (that he may be turning into a fiend). hes tormented by this, and doesnt want it to happen, but it happens nonetheless. the villagers hate him for this affliction, whether he enjoys himself or not.

BIOGRAPHY HAS TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR SUICIDE, MATERNAL DEATH, PHYSICAL ASSAULT & GENERAL EVIL.
ZAIN JAMAL YAXLEY was the youngest son born to CORBAN YAXLEY. His older brother is EMYR, with a middle sister named AALIYAH, but the two could have not been more different. Both men in a strict family with Muslim values, the boys were expected to marry but they could have fun beforehand. With their mother dead, they had nannies and aunties who took care of them. They did have fun, growing up a YAXLEY meant everything was fun for ZAIN except for being trained for war. He had anything he wanted, but it all came at a prince. His father put EMYR and ZAIN through intense training courses, hitting the boys with spells that were simply unforgivable in an attempt to make them strong. ZAIN received the worst of it. His father succeed in making the perfect son. ZAIN was cold, calculated and would do whatever it took to remain in his father’s good graces.
In school, he was at the top of his class, besting everyone in DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS, POTIONS & ANCIENT RUNES, his favorite course. He worked hard and played hard. Because of how he was brought up, he saw people as disposal and he absolutely knew one thing: BLOOD MATTERS. No matter what anyone said, it mattered and mudbloods and halfbloods were the reason things were going to hell and his father told him that repeatedly and he believed him. However, it didn’t stop those girls from being pretty and because he was good looking, he could have any of them he wanted, especially with his blue eyes. His father always said that they were straight from hell, but he didn’t mind it as much as he got older. However, those devil blue eyes got him in trouble.
During his time at HOGWARTS, He charmed his way to being a prefect and with that, he found himself in an ENTANGLEMENT with a mudblood RAVENCLAW. The girl was in love with him and he loved playing with her. ZAIN is absolutely capable of being charming and he does let it out in certain circumstances when it benefits him. If he doesn't see an immediate need for him to be charming, he is not. He comes off cold and aloof. But when he is sharing an intimate moment, he's much warmer. He knows there's no way to maintain a relationship being cold to the person you're wooing. But this doesn't mean he's genuine, he's just a good actor. But to him, everything is theater and an act. This is why he joined the drama club, he's really good at becoming a character. There's a logic to doing so that he can absolutely get behind. The girl didn’t know this about him, but ZAIN wasn’t going to tell her. Once he had her virginity, he grew tired of filth clinging to him. He had made his sister be a SECRET KEEPER between them, before he even fucked her and the girl couldn’t tell anyone about their ENTANGLEMENT. Because of that, when he broke it off, she sent him numerous owls and letters about how much she missed him. One of them stated that she couldn’t live without him anymore. He saw her that evening and told her if she couldn’t live without him, then she simply shouldn’t. The next week, they had a memorial for the RAVENCLAW who killed herself. To this day, ZAIN can’t figure out of he cares someone killed themselves because of him or not. He went on to continue being the SLYTHERIN  star that he was.
When the battle of HOGWARTS erupted, he was at the school having his HEADBOYSHIP while his dad and brother battled. Because he was still a student, he was able to claim he was doing what he had to do to survive during the battle and the school year under the CARROWS leadership. He helped get the younger kids to safety and that worked on making him the innocent looking YAXLEY. He never apologized for anything he said, he never said that was the reason that he helped the CARROWS torture people during their reign. He simply was quiet as he normally was. ZAIN is an insanely private person and he holds a lot of things in secret. He doesn't like to use many words because he feels they are a waste of time with most people. So it comes as no surprise he moves secretly with a lot of things. His family fell, but he didn’t look as bad as them. Something that CORBAN loved about ZAIN. He was able to get a job translating RUNES and working to build his own name. His mother’s family was sacred 28 and helped him get on his feet, while shunning EMYR & CORBAN because they had been sent to prison. He was able to marry well, a girl with sacred blood and they have two children together, both sons. He got a job at HOGWARTS teaching his favorite  subject. While he was  never loving father, there was some coldness between the pair. Even then, ZAIN was CORBAN’S favorite, simply because he wasn't afraid to say blood mattered. ZAIN saw the way his father interacted with his sons, and it was just different between them. Like his father, he spoiled his children though both of them seemed to lack the burning desire to CONSUME everything that was in their path that he had. Neither men spoke about it, but there was this unspoken knowledge that they both blamed ZAIN for his mother’s death. That was why his father had spent most of his time out of the country, away from his murderous younger son. The distance was intentional and ZAIN had always knew it. That’s why he was always at his uncle’s, they both understood he had committed his first murder while drawing his first breath of air.
There’s only one person who truly knows him, his murderous deeds and the nature to eliminate anyone who posed a threat to him. She was the woman he could never marry because she wasn’t pure enough for his family and she lacked the name he needed. But it hasn’t stopped their long affair since they had been in school. The affair where ZAIN blatantly told TRACEY’S husband he had no plans to stop fucking his wife and then violently assaulted him when he threatened to tell his wife. He father her two children and is proud of it.
APPLICATION
❝ Get to know somebody and you learn a lot about ‘em. ❞ Merlin’s beard, what is ( ZAIN YAXLEY ) doing out at this hour? For a ( PUREBLOOD ) who is ( 47 ) years old, ( HE ) really ought to know better. You know, I hear that they’re aligned with ( THE ARCHANGELS ), but that could be just a rumor. I do know that they’re ( MALE ) and a ( SLYTHERIN ) alum who works as an ( ANCIENT RUNES PROFESSOR ) though. They’re very ( ARTICULATE ) and ( PERSUASIVE ) but also quite ( NEUROTIC ) and ( VIOLENT ), which could be why they remind of ( GOLD CUFF LINKS AND FENDI SCARVES. MYSTERIOUS PLAYBOY, TROUBLED PAST BUT TROUBLED FUTURE, JACK DANIELS AND CUBAN CIGARS, THE HEART FILLED WITH RAGE, SMOOTH LIKE SILK AND VELVET. SMOKEY BEDROOM EYES, PEACE? I HATE THE WORD ). Some people say they’re the spitting image of ( MICHAEL EALY ), but I’ve never heard of them. Word on the street is that they’re ( THE ORPHIC ) and their prophecy is ( PROPHECY 5 ), but only time will tell if that’s true or not. [ A, 28, SHE/HERS, EST ]

🍵 let the world know of our angst 🍵
 Aha.
Welcome everyone to:
TUA JAPANESE MYTHOLOGY AU  by @a-blue-hoodie and me!
In this AU, we have *drumroll please*
DIEGO
- A protective Tengu who mainly takes care of the Patches
- He Fucked UpTM once and Eudora ended up being killed
- It’s his greatest failure and he’s vowed to do better
- He’s friends with Klaus! And Ben!
KLAUS
- Our favourite ghost seeing boy is a shinigami!
- Everything he touches dies and when his situation gets particularly bad and he’s feeling emotional, he emits a Cloud of Death which causes everything in a certain radius around him to die
- He HATES it and he wishes he wasn’t a shinigami
- Boi’s like immortal and he’s constantly shunned by everyone
- He mostly hangs around Ben and Vanya (who is dead)
- He’s been friends with Ben for a long time, and at some points they haven’t interacted with humans for a Really Long Time which leads to... hilarity.
- Spoiler alert: he kills Ben by accident
BEN
- Bean boy’s a kitsune!
- He’s got like 6 tails when he meets Klaus
- Spoiler alert: He dies
- That’s not the angst part, oh no, we have WORST hoho
- Ben’s been captured by an onmyogi and basically forced to kill and tortured all the way since he has 2 tails to the time he had 5 tails
- He only escapes because the last time he was told to kill, it was a small boy named Dave. Who realises what happens so he fakes death and binds Ben to him to protect Ben all the way until Klaus turns up to investigate
- See all these dead souls that Ben kills? They did NOT die easy or happily. So there’s a huge influx of these souls so Klaus is like ok we need to check this out
- The only thing that gets Ben through is the knowledge that it can’t be forever. It can’t be because Five told him that his ghost will only have 6 tails so he knows he’ll die at some point.
- Then Ben meets Klaus and like he’s so thankful like ‘oh are you here for me finally?’ and Klaus is like ‘No????’ and Ben ends up befriending Klaus knowing he’s going to end up dead.
- His power’s exponential not linear like most other Kitsune so by the time he was 6 tails he had like 9 tail power
- Basically he’s crazy powerful which is part of the reason why Five just told him
- After his death, which was caused by Klaus, he’s actually kind of relieved like ‘IM FINALLY DEAD HAH YOU CAN’T DO SHIT TO ME NOW’ and like he’s the least emotionally affected by his own death. Klaus is sobbing and grieving and he just
- returns. Completely nonchalantly.
- He retains his powers after death too.
FIVE
- Teleporting tenko kitsune that’s the boy
- Idiot was supposed to ascend to heaven but... he forgot and missed his window
- He was doing research and got distracted. (NO ONE BELIEVES IT WHEN HE TELLS THEM THAT)
- So now he’s forever stuck in a child’s body
- He can teleport and see into the future
- First time he met ben he was like ‘oh your ghost is going to have 6 tails’ and Ben was like ????
- He’s been around so long he genuinely doesn’t understand why people are upset by the idea of death and themselves/the people close to them dying
- got his name because he met Delores when he had 5 tails and she didn’t know what a kitsune was so she just called him 5
- Then delores dies and he wasn’t bothered enough to find a new name so yeah
- He’s like insensitive as fuck but also really wise
VANYA
- Resident Violinist is now a natural disaster causing onryo
- she was really scared of her powers and timid and very much a walkover when she was alive
- then Leonard tried to use her as a Nice Guy and manipulate her into causing a natural disaster around and she Finds Out about what he tried to do and she went ‘oh FUCK THIS’
- Leonard ends up killing her, but her ghost is full of anger and having none of it
- and proceeds to enlist Klaus’ help and kills Leonard
- that’s the first time Klaus is really ok with taking his gloves off and like trying to kill because really Leonard was an asshole and he did just try to destroy an entire country because he wanted power. (also Leonard reminds him of the onmyogi who controlled Ben for centuries)
- After he kills Leonard, Klaus thinks Vanya’s unfinished businessTM should be done but like she’s just. I’m Still Angry I’m Staying.
- And Klaus is like uh. Sure I guess. And so she hangs around him and somehow she retains her powers as a ghost?
- She’s Really Sassy and sometimes Klaus will be like ‘Would it kill you to be a little nicer?’ and she looks at him deadpan and goes ‘yes’
- She’s also constantly salty and has full control of her abilities because ‘really. I’m dead what’s the worst that can happen’
BONUS:
DAVE:
- Hachiman/the actual Prince
- He was supposed to become the emperor but went like nahhhh
- He’s actually like a minor god of war and worshipped by the samurai but like he doesn’t brag about that
- As a child he saved Ben until he met Klaus and like ‘Oh ok shinigami ok I can trust him’
-When he’s older he’ll remember he did Something about a Kitsune and a Shinigami but he doesn’t know it’s ben and klaus
- hilariously he ends up dating Klaus
- He meets Klaus at a ball and like some cinderella bullshit happens and like Klaus doesn’t recognise him because he’s been away from civilisation for so long
- Hilarity ensues because Klaus introduces him to Diego who DOES recognise him and Dave shushes Diego like SHHHH DONT TELL HIM HE DOESN’T KNOW
- Poor longsuffering Diego tbh. He tries to Hint at Klaus but Klaus does NOT get it
- ‘Oh no the prince is way out of my league I’m sure he’s nice and all but I’ve already got Dave’ ‘I’m sure the prince would be lucky to have you.’ ‘Aww thanks Dave’ *Diego sobbing*
- Oh yeah he gets killed.
- Klaus’ shinigami powers don’t work on him but Klaus doesn’t know that. Dave can’t be killed by magical means but like normal physical means work
- He dies in a horrific fashion
AND THAT’S ALL
Some key scenes:
- Klaus often walks about with Ben and later Vanya by his side making comments. Especially after Ben’s death. They’re really good friends
- POOR DIEGO TRIES SO HARD TO HINT AND LIKE EVEN EUDORA GETS IT BUT NO KLAUS NEVER FIGURES OUT FOR A LONG TIME THAT HIS BOYFRIEND IS AN ACTUAL GOD HE JUST THINKS DIEGO’S BEING A BI DISASTER
- ‘how’ ‘idk man but Ben didn’t know either? anyway don’t tell him’ ‘UGH’
- Ben’s death comes about because like Klaus is trying to snatch Ben away from someone who’s trying to control him so he’s trying to kill the onmyogi after Ben so gloves off but his gloves are still off when he touches Ben’s hoshi no tama, aka his actual soul. Usually his powers don’t work on Ben but like it’s his soul so Ben feels something weird and goes ‘well shit’ and dies
- Ben’s had a hard life really like he was kidnapped by someone who took note of his prodigious and unnaturally powerful magic when he was just 2 tails and forced to kill. When he kills, his power grows but it also hurts Ben a LOT. And he hates it and it’s torture but he’s literally forced to.
- The only thing he can cling on to is Five’s declaration that his ghost will have 6 tails so it won’t be forever it’ll end at some point and that’s how he endures being tortured for several centuries :)
- He’s so grateful to see Klaus because he really thinks that it’s the end for him thank god. and he’s so happy and klaus is like no? i’m not here to kill you i’m literally trying to prevent your death and ben is disappointed
- Eudora’s death is a really sore spot for Diego because like he was off chasing some robbers and vigilante-ing becos Eudora told him there were some robbers threatening people and he was like WELL LET ME HELP. And he does manage to catch them but that means that he uses some magic.
- So when the Patches are in danger, he protects them, but Eudora realises her friend is in danger and runs back in for them and Diego doesn’t have enough magic to shield her too and that’s how she ends up dying.
- See vigilante work is NOT part of tengu’s job so Diego effectively failed terribly at doing his job
- No one blames Diego, least of all Eudora, but like he failed. He failed in his job as a Tengu he’s a failure of a protective spirit he had only one job in his life he had to do 1 (One) thing and he couldn’t do it.

I dont know what to call this au, but i made up an enstars au where the eccentrics are magicians and eichi is a prince! everyone is included in the au and live in a village or the town near eichi’s castle.
In the au, there’s such a thing as Slight magic, which is a type of semi-common magic. Some humans are born w the ability to do slight, basic magic w many limits and aren’t seen as smth odd. Witches and magicians, however, are seen as eccentric by humans due to the king+prince eichi’s influences and bc of their great magic.
Characters n their roles under the cut!!
Shu- witch that works with magical puppetry (dolls that he can control magically) he can also do necromancy bc u can control corpses like dolls but he finds that gross. Has an absolute hatred for prince eichi for shunning magicians. Will occasionally sell clothes and bobbles in the village market w Mika.
Mika- shus crow familiar. He can turn into a human as well. Afraid to go into the village w.o his eyepatch for fear of ppl noticing his mismatched eyes but occasionally goes w it on to collect things for shu
Mademoiselle- one of shus living dolls. His most advanced/successful yet.
Rei and ritsu- vampires who live in a big house near the village. Rei knows hypnotism/manipulation magic and is considered one of the eccentric magic users due to its sheer power. However, he hasn't fully grown into it yet.
Koga- werewolf or wolf boy who got found on sakuma territory by rei so rei treats him as his pet bc he took a liking to him.
Adonis- son of the village's butcher. Friends w koga n supplies him meat.
Hakaze kaoru- village's playboy. Met rei due to someone daring him to go near the sakuma mansion n rei took a liking to him.

“Mama, do I have to go?”
Behati looked up from her vanity, almost doing a double take as she took in the sight of her only child. Sometimes it scared her just how much Bashira looked like her, from her beautiful light brown eyes, her full lips, and even fuller figure.
Bashari inherited almost nothing from her father. She was the spitting image of her mother.
“Of course you do, child!” She exclaimed, standing up and sauntering over to her daughter. “You must be there when Zuri announces that Bast has chosen you.”
Bashari rolled her eyes. “Mama, you cannot seriously believe that it is I who the prophecy speaks of. Prince T’Challa loves Nakia.”
“Oh please,” she rolled her eyes and pulled down the front of Bashira’s dress to expose more of her cleavage. “He loves how easy it is for him to sneak between her legs.”
“Mama!”
“Did you know that girl gave herself away to him when she was but fifteen?” Behati gossiped, licking her thumb and laying down Bashira’s baby hair. “Fifteen. For Bast sake, when you were fifteen, you never even thought of such illicit activities.”
Bashira said nothing, maintaining her stale expression. If only her mother knew that she had her first experience of oral sex when she was fifteen.
Behati would take a whip to her backside.
“How could Bast not have picked you? Look at you, child. You are the embodiment of beauty and grace. Men stumble at your feet for just a second of your time while women watch from afar with envy. Jealousy eats at them for you are the woman who could steal away their lovers with just a look and snap of her finger.”
“Mama, you act as though I am Bast herself.” Bashira was irritated. Truly. She’d spent her whole life being praised on her looks.
Bashira is so beautiful.
Bashira is a vision.
Bashira is a goddess among men.
It was exhausting, being exalted over something as trivial and temporary as looks. No one cared that she was always the smartest student in her class or that she was told that she’d make an excellent War Dog one day if only her mother would have let her start training.
Sometimes she wondered if her mother’s days and experiences as a War Dog had anything to do with her trepidation about Bashira following in her footsteps.
Behati never got excited when Bashira was honored for scholastic and merit achievements. None of her accolades were hung on the Wall of Honor like Nakia’s.
Bashira’s saving grace, at times, was truly her father.
Akili tried to treat both of his children with the same amount of respect and admiration, doting on both of the princesses, but his position among the council often occupied most of his time.
There were instances were the girls would not physically see their father for days as he left at the break of dawn, before they awoke for school, and did not return until late at night, long after they were put to bed.
However, Bashira adored her father because he would always have one of their servants sneak a book in her room. He knew that she loved to read, preferring books over people for much of her upbringing.
But he also knew that his second wife did not want their daughter to become so enamored in books and education. She always believed that it was a waste of time as Bashira was so beautiful that she would easily find a man who would take care of her.
Never mind that was not what Bashira wanted. She wanted to be like her older sister Nakia, who was always adventurous, going on safaris and other thrilling activities with T’Challa, Erik, and their friends.
Meanwhile, Bashira was stuck at home with her mother, being forced to learn how to be a “proper lady.”
It was frustrating. The different ways in which the girls were reared.
There were even times where Bashira wished that Palesa was her mother instead of Behati. At least then she would have had more freedom.
But Palesa despised both Behati and her daughter for reasons not even Bashira knew.
Bashira was a pretty face.
Nakia was a pretty face and everything else.
Brave, strong, intelligent, and beautiful.
Everything that Bashira couldn’t and would never be.
¥ ¥ ¥
Pregnant.
The word oscillated in Bashira’s head.
It was such a strange and unfamiliar feeling, finding out that there was another life growing inside of you. In 7 ½ months, an infant would feed on her nipples, cry in the middle of the night for her attention, and look to her as if she was the only person in the world who mattered.
She was going to be a mother.
And she was fucking terrified.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Yes, she knew that she would eventually have to produce an heir but so soon? Although many believed that the young couple should have conceived by now as T’Challa was already fresh in his thirties. She, still but 24, going on 25. They were in their prime.
However, age did not equate readiness.
How in the hell was she supposed to care for another human being? She could barely take care of herself half the time.
Half.
The child was half his blood. She honestly did not know how to process that information. A part of her hated that her child would have such a heartless individual for a father. Would his cruelty extend to their child? Would he shun his own flesh and blood just to smite the mother? Would he be an absentee father, leaving her to practically rear their child on her own?
Bashira scoffed and wiped at her eyes. She hated the fact that she felt the inherent need for T’Challa to be actively involved in her child’s life. If she herself didn’t need him, then why did their baby?
He wasn’t exactly the poster child for ideal fathers anyway.
Look at how he treated his wife.
“Great Bast, Bashira?”
The queen froze from her seat on a bench in the palace gardens. That voice. She recognized who it belonged to but couldn’t believe that it was actually him.
She stood up and turned to her right. “Thom?”
The newly appointed queen eyed the man before her, distinctly recalling the last time she’d seen him, how he lashed out and cursed at everyone who agreed he was out of control.
Thom and Erik were best friends growing up, always finding themselves in trouble, truly toxic for each other in that they both had problems with respecting authority. However,  Erik was the quiet “bad boy.”
Thom was loud, intimidating, people around their school knowing not to aggravate him. Erik would look at a person to frighten them away.
Thom would resolve to more physical means.
Bashira always felt uncomfortable around Erik because one could never predict his next move, but Thom absolutely scared her because everyone knew exactly what he would do if aggravated.
It was why he was eventually forced to become a War Dog, his father, the elder for the Border Tribe, believing that going out into other parts of the world would help calm him down, and it did. To a certain extent. However, Bashira still sensed dangerous vibes from the man the last time she saw him which was at her wedding to T’Challa over a year ago.
“Oh, forgive me.” He chuckled and saluted her. “Queen Bashira.”
She swallowed deeply. Just her name on his tongue sounded strange. “You have returned?”
“Indeed.” He nodded as she crossed her arms, hating how his eyes immediately fell to her chest.
Thom always behaved inappropriately around Bashira, flirting with her when she was still a teenager and himself, in his early twenties.
As much as she despised T’Challa and cared very little for Erik, neither men tried to approach her when she was underage. Erik would only start his innuendos after she turned 18 and even then they were in jest. T’Challa waited until the last possible moment to try and “court” his future wife.
Thom, however, consistently tried to get close to Bashira.
He even went after Nakia, but T’Challa put an end to that when they were all in high school, both boys suspended for a week. It was the first time Bashira learned about the future King’s temper.
Then again, she also believed that it had more to do than just Thom taking it too far with the prince’s girlfriend.
The two boys always had it out for each other, Thom trying to one-up T’Challa in everything from sports to academics. However, he could never surpass T’Challa in any category which only exacerbated the tension.
“Um, welcome home.” She managed a small smile despite her discomfort. “Erik is also-“
“Here. I know.” He cut her off with a smirk. “That’s why I figured this was the best time to come home. Catch up with old friends.” A beat. “Perhaps even make some new ones.”
His unrelenting stare caused the pregnant woman to slightly move back, her arms still across her chest. “Yes, well, I should get-“”
“You really grew into a beautiful young woman, Bashira,” His eyes moved to study her figure from head to toe. “Beautiful, indeed…..”
Bashira suddenly wished that she hadn’t been so quick to run out of the medical room once T’Challa revealed the stunning news. She also was deeply regretting sending away Ayo so that she could be alone.
“I-uh-,” she stammered, looking everywhere except for the man in front of her. “I really must-“
“Tell me something, Bashira.” He stepped closer, prompting her to move back. “Do I make you uncomfortable? Do I frighten you?”
She thought back to the boldest advanced he’d made on her when she was only 16, cornering her in her bedroom, arms on either side of the wall, proposing that same exact question. If not for Amari coming to knock on her door, she didn’t know what would have happened.
After that, she told her father about him, and the advances became far less intense. Still present though.
The amused gleam in Thom’s dark eyes unsettled her. He was toying with her, and she was in no mood or emotional state to play into his games.
She needed to get the hell away from him.
Bashira again started backing away from the War Dog when she collided with something strong, solid, warm.
She looked up to see none other than T’Challa. A part of her wanted to roll her eyes and push him away while the other part wanted to quickly maneuver to hide behind him.
Bashira hid her shock when her husband easily lifted his arm and put it across her, lightly pushing her behind and beside him.
She did not attempt to move away.
T’Challa was the opposite of the man across from him. He was of few words and preferred to attack without any prior indication of what he was planning or thinking. Few could read him, and even fewer challenged him.
“As children, I hospitalized you for making her uncomfortable.” Bashira chilled as memories of the scandal that followed the epic showdown returned to her recollection. T’Challa always was protective of Nakia. “As a man, I will kill you if you even think of again making that same mistake.” Bashira again concealed her shock at T’Challa’s words. “You will not speak to her, look at her, nor inquire any information about her, and if I found out that you laid even one finger on her, I will drain the life from your body with my bare hands.” Pause. “Do I make myself perfectly clear?”
“Crystal, your highness.” Bashira could practically see the smug smirk on his face just from the sarcastic tone of his voice. “Wakanda Forever.”
Bashira instinctively grabbed the back of T’Challa’s shirt as she could sense he was getting ready to lunge at Thom.
“Let him go,” she mumbled as she heard the sound of footsteps, waiting until they were no more to release her hold on him. “Well that was-“”
“Where is Ayo?” He snapped as he turned around to look down at her with frustration. “Why the hell are you out here alone?” Bashira wanted to be shocked by the switch of his anger from Thom to herself, but she couldn’t be. Of course, he would blame her. “And with him of all people?”
“Is it not obvious? I am in search of a new lover in honor of this exciting news.” She smiled, rubbing her belly, and then scowling. “What do you think, T’Challa? I needed time alone to think-“”
“You can think in the palace, Bashira.” He spoke through gritted teeth as she ran his hand over his face. “You are with child now-“
“Really? I hadn’t realized it.” She turned to walk away when he grabbed her arm. “Let me-“
“Damnit woman, I cannot protect you if you won’t fucking listen to me!”
“Protect me?” She chuckled bitterly. “When have you ever wanted to protect me? You only care to protect those you actually give a fuck about and/or who you find beneficial, and we both know that doesn’t include me.”
He narrowed his eyes in irritation. “You foolish woman-“”
She growled and attempted to pull her arm from him, but it was no use. “Do you think me a fool? That unnecessary display of brawn was nothing more than you feeding your ego and validating your pride! I am now carrying your heir so you need me for the time being, and we all knew that you wouldn’t dare allow anyone to harass my sist-”
“Are you really that daft?” He sneered, his chest falling and rising as he attempted to control his volume. “Nakia could take care of herself.” A beat. “You couldn’t.”
Bashira immediately stopped struggling against him. Was he trying to imply that his brutal beating on Thom was because of her? It couldn't have been. He barely even spoke to her at that time. Never paid attention to her when they were in the same vicinity. How could he have known what Thom was doing to her?
Her jaw faltered as she struggled to get words out. “W-what?”
T’Challa’s eyes shifted, softening for a quick second before hardening again.
“From now on, you are to have a guard with you at all times. If you wish to behave foolishly and put yourself in precarious situations, you may do so after my child is born. I won’t give a damn then.” T’Challa barked out something as she heard the sounds of footsteps in the distance. It was Ayo.
She quickly turned her glare on his back as he turned to walk away after finally releasing her arm. Bashira turned up her nose as her lips trembled from pending tears. “I hate you.”
T’Challa stopped for a moment, looking over his shoulder. She expected him to say something, but he didn’t. He just kept walking away.
Like he always did.
A/N: I changed a few things with this chapter in that I didn’t expound much in terms of the prophecy.
I wanted you all to get a feel of Behati’s relationship with her daughter and Bashira’s family dynamic in general.
Thom is Erik’s friend....I’ll let you be the judge of that info.
T’Challa is.....complicated.
We’ll get the ball rolling after this one!

I was talking to @clotpolesonly and came up with this patchy Avatar the Last Airbender AU where Damen is Crown Prince of the Earth Kingdom, an earthbender, and Auguste was Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, a firebender. Meanwhile, Laurent is born with a latent waterbending ability, and grows up as a non-bender without presenting. He was born to the Fire Lord and he couldn’t firebend, so obviously he can’t bend, because benders are very rarely born into a kingdom or tribe not of their element, and no one wanted to consider that their Prince might be an Unnatural bender.
So after the war and post-Auguste, because Laurent doesn’t have any other means of protecting himself, he trains himself in swords and becomes a self-taught chi-blocker by observing and emulating and studying and learning from actual chi-blockers employed by the Fire Nation, in order to defend himself against bending. Specifically, his uncle’s firebending.
Laurent is the kind of Unnatural bender (born to a different nation than his bending element, defying the Avatar decree that originally separated the nations)  who his uncle’s tyrannical regime burns alive just for existing. He spends most of his life not even knowing it , and then Damen arrives in the Fire Nation capital.
Damen’s earthbending is blocked by the Fire Nation chi-blockers, but when the Regent arranges to have Laurent killed and Damen framed for it, he doesn’t have Damen’s block renewed, so that Damen can use his earthbending against Laurent and catch him off-guard. So when Laurent is drugged, Damen fights the assassins off but one still makes his way to Laurent and knocks the only means he has of protecting himself, his dagger, out of his hand, because Laurent is drugged and not in top form and these are non-benders against whom his chi-blocking doesn’t work, and it’s a desperate situation, he’s going to die
and the drugged water rises from his cup to defend him.
Damen doesn’t notice and makes his escape, and Laurent has a minor existential crisis on the floor of his room before he pulls himself together and goes to talk to his uncle and the council and hopefully save his fucking Earth Kingdom slave.
Laurent keeps it hidden, because fuck, he’s a waterbender, Crown Prince to the Fire Nation, and there’s no way his people will accept a waterbender as the Fire Nation ruler, even if he can defeat his uncle now, he’s lost. He’s terrified of this ability and he hates that he has it, because of fucking course the universe hates him this much, everything else wasn’t enough, he had to be a waterbender too. He has to hide it, because if anyone finds out, his uncle’s law says he must die, and Laurent is a survivor above all else.
Then one night on the road to the borders, when him and Damen are going over maps in the tent, Damen casually asks why Laurent never uses it, because if he’s trained well enough water can take out fire and it would be easy to defeat the Regent. And Laurent realizes that he thought Damen didn’t notice but Damen did, he just had more important things on his mind at the time (like escape and freedom), and also that Damen thinks that Laurent can evade the law of the Fire Nation just because he’s Crown Prince. He asks Damen what happens to benders who are born in the Earth Kingdom who aren’t earthbenders, and Damen easily replies, well, we send them where they belong.
Laurent just stares at him, because Damen cannot be this ignorant, he’s saying that his kingdom displaces and tears apart families, turns people into refugees, like that’s a good thing, and doesn’t he know what happens to firebenders not born in the Fire Nation who come to them from the Earth Kingdom? These displaced refugees aren’t executed, like they would be if they were benders of any other element, but they’re not really citizens either. These people are distrusted and shunned, in case they’re spies, and their usual fate is to have their bending blocked and to serve as pets for the nobility, or prostitutes in brothels, or doing meager, unwanted work for very little pay. The Water Tribe (i.e. Vaskian Empire) straight up drowns waterbenders from other nations, in case they’re spies. Their nations are not friends. They’re enemy kingdoms, all of them, and Damen is saying that he sends his people off to suffer and die without a second thought.
But you see, Damen doesn’t know. He never thought to find out what happens to these people they send away. He considers this a good thing. He doesn’t think of it as exile! The Avatar’s decree seaparated the four nations, and these people go where they were supposed to and train their elements how they’re needed and yes, they do have to leave their families behind, but at the end of the day it’s for the best, really. He knows how the Fire Nation and the Water Tribe treat their Unnatural benders, and that’s just awful. At least the Earth Kingdom is decent enough to not execute them like unwanted pests.
He doesn’t realize that that’s not really true until Laurent takes him to the Fire Nation brothel, and Damen finds out that half these prostitutes are Earth Kingdom castoffs. They hate the Earth Kingdom. They miss their families. They hate Damianos, and Kastor, and Theomedes. They’re glad that Damen’s father is dead. They may be blocked from their elements here and discriminated against, but at least the Fire Nation never turned them away, and gave them an opportunity to earn a living and have a roof over their heads. At least the Fire Nation never tore them away from their families when it was supposed to protect them because they were citizens. Eventually Damen and Laurent are taken to the Water Tribe and Laurent sits with Halvik and Damen sits by the coupling fire and they watch the Water Tribe women drown a waterbender in exile from the Earth Kingdom who was brought to them. The woman dies spewing hate towards, not the Water Tribe killing her, but the Earth Kingdom, because no matter what the King preaches, everyone knows that for a bender, being exiled is virtually a death sentence.
The waterbenders are disgusted by it too. Damen hears them talk amongst themselves about how the Earth Kingdom pretends to be above all this, but all it really does is leave the Fire Nation and Water Tribes to do its dirty work, so the Earth Kingdom can keep pretending at being morally superior.
And okay I ran out of steam around here but Damen’s eyes are opened and he vows to end exile of Unnatural benders, and Laurent goes through a journey of self-acceptance alongside everything else, learns to accept his bending abilities and learns waterbending in secret from the Water Tribe, and also learns bloodbending from the Water Tribe and uses it that one time to kill the Regent with the one element he hates the most, from the nephew he thought weak and useless because he couldn’t bend fire, and maybe he uses chi-blocking to kill Kastor, and eventually, after a long struggle of ending discrimination against Unnatural benders and a long time of Laurent hiding his bending, the Fire Nation becomes the first integrated nation to accept all benders born within its borders, and to accept refugees they might come from, and to have and accept an Unnatural bender as its ruler. The Earth Kingdom follows soon after, with Damen keeping his vow with Laurent’s help, and although it takes longer there even though Damen is accepted as King immediately, unlike Laurent, they get to it with the Fire Nation paving the way for acceptance.
And many years later, Damen and Laurent live happily ever after.

Thanks for the links I'll be sure to watch them. I like watching analysis on Disney movies. Belle is my most favorite Disney princess. Has been forever. I was eager to see the live action movie until I kept hearing all this stuff about Belle being 'better' smarter and stronger. I was thinking Belle was already perfect. Why fix what's not broken? I'm not sure how any of this is an improvement. Instead of appreciating who Belle is and why her nature ended up destroying a curse to save countless -
2 people and redeem one soul who also proved he was a awesome selfless guy underneath that spoiled attitude. We get a character who we’re suppose to be impressed by her talents or, as you put it, how ahead of her time she was. Original Belle would be special yet easy to misunderstand no matter where or what time period you stuck her in. She was role model for her selfless attitude and independent mindest that didn’t go w/the crowd. She saw past images and cared about what was underneath. -
3 Belle was also relatable because she liked what she liked and felt lonely sge didn’t have friends who liked or accepted her. We all have yearnings to escape a place we feel belittled or trapped in. We all want to have at least 1 person to love us for who we are w/o wanting to completely change us first. But in the remake we got Belle the inventor. I’m not going to relate to someone alone for being an inventor. As you said, I feel like they lost what made Belle Belle when they turned her into -
4 into a mini version of her Father. We didn’t need her to become her dad and inherit her dad’s problems. She had her own problems. Just like what they’re doing w/Jasmine. Once again I thought the Aladdin remake looked fun until they talked about Jasmine veing a stronger version. She’s into politics and stuff. Forget that Jasmine wanted to marry for love and stood defiant against her well meaning Father’s picks for a husband. All men who only wanted her for status. That she was brave enough to-5 escape her sheltered world to be herself. That she never once looked down on Aladdin or anyone for being a street rat and treated him like a equal worthy of respect. She’s never once impressed w/material gain and showed more awe for a kind thief’s world then a boastful Prince’s magical parade that enchanted everyone else. That she stood up to Jafar of all villians w/o breaking a sweat. That she forgave so much. That she got her freedom and true love in the end. That’s only 1 movie too.
Yeaaah that’s so true I agree with all you said.
Tbh this is kind of another problem, Belle was more “ordinary” in a way that was relatable: but that was part of what made her this “extraordinary”. She was the “simple bookworm” who had a golden heart and could have people be their best selves around her. And it’s.. good. I mean I think people forgot those movies originally target kids or the kids inside of us. Sometimes it’s just good to tell the kid that even simplest things make them amazing. That they don’t have to be “special”, to be smarter, stronger than everyone else to be taken seriously, that you could just be yourself, that you could still have an impact on people’s lives.
Like yeah it’s cool to tell kids they can be more too!! It’s important that there are stories that can tell kids “and you can do extraordinary things” but htat doesn’t mean that the likeable ordinary characters shouldn’t exist. And it’s such a disservice to Belle bc she was relatable. Any kids could feel for her journey, for who she was, and didn’t have to feel.. unadequate because y’see they’re not a genuis like her.
Already I feel like we’re losing a bit of her agency by making her an extension of her father, but as it is, it’s just… again that apparently to be considered a “good protagonist” you have to be a step ahead, to not just be a normal person see, you have to be a SUPER person who is more amazing that everyone and super transgressive.
And it’s.. a shame because the original movie carries that on far better. Belle is still weird, and we know the town is being a bit dumb but…. the thing is that, it’s super relatable? Like in the remake tries far more to relate it to the time period (which is in itself silly, the original “La Belle et La Bête” was published in a lady’s magazine for women to read it’s not,, like it was that weird to “teach another girl to read” in that time period in France,,) and they add this stupid plotline of how Gaston is just having major PTSD and that’s why he’s a douche and they have a whole section showing the townfolks don’t trust him blindly and Le Fou has to pay them to sing Gaston and i’m just??? Bc No, the Town were just mindless people who just would push away anyone who’s different. Gaston is your usual bully. The kind who believes they’re more important than anyone. They’re… people you actually meet in your life.
So by making Belle “more special” while also in a town that is “more justified” it just… feels wrong and fall flat and it just feels insulting.
I don’t know that remake missed all the marks and Belle especially suffered from it and i hate how superficially they took the character. It’s super annoying.
For Aladdin i admit i didn’t keep track of the remake, i personally think it looks like a trainwreck but i’m also very, very tired about the Disney Remake trend, and extremely annoyed with the “We’re fixing stuff from the original” ones. Because like, for exemple, liking it or not Maleficient wasn’t trying to fix the original, it was another side of the story. Jungle Book took a different approach but didn’t act all smugly about how they were fixing things. But with Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin they keep talking about things to change from the original to make it “more modern and better” and generally it’s not even on like… actual important stuff (i’ve only ever watched Aladdin in French and they don’t have it in it but apparently there’s a lyrics from the opening song that is downright offensive about how barbaric the culture is. Like. Think about fixing that before fixing your “woman problem” Disney.)
For Aladdin,  I really have no idea where the damn remake is headed but yeah i’ve seen them mention how much the new Jasmine is better than the original and c o m o n. You can try to talk a little more about politics without completely  undermining that she was still having an arc in the original, that she didn’t want her life decided for her, and everything you just said.
idk i feel like they didn’t even get why those characters were liked to start with. They rush into conclusion about what bad role models they are without even taking into account that it’s… not like that people took them. Legit I’ve never thought “Cinderella/Ariel/Belle needed a Man to save them from their lives” for exemple until people started to smash it all over my head when I was a teen.
Personally my fav princess growing up was Ariel, for exemple. to me she was a passionate person and people around her kept villainizing what she liked, his father litterally destroys all her stuff in front of her in a fit of anger. she is more pressured into doing the family stuff like singing for his father, but her interests are shunned away. What she wants is to explore her passion, to discover new things, to not be locked where her family tells her is her best place to be, especially when her father for exemple completely overlook her boundaries. Saving Eric happened to be one of the catalyst making her want to set it in motion, but she didn’t do it until her father sent her the message that her passion would be welcomed with violence. And yeah she took rushes decision when she was running away from home after her father terrified her, she was pressured in the contract, but the enjoyed herself on Earth, and whatever “she just wanted to find a man” means, she found what she wanted with Eric. he has boats, they can travel if she wants. He invites her to danse, he makes her visit places, she handle a horse, he helps her live more of her dream that isn’t just living a life with him.
So to me i grew up with Ariel on a pure escapism sense, of living off your passion, of being able to escape an unsafe place to be with said passion, and hell the ultimate fantasy is that her father admited he was wrong and did right by her in the end. Getting the man was a bonus.
and Ariel also enters a lot in the bashed princesses category because of Eric and it always kinda frustrated me, but when I was a young teen and everyone told me they were bad role models? I just ended up agreeing because “guess kid me doesn’t know any better”. But as an adult now, I feel like kid!me understood it much more, because those raw emotions are what inspired me in my life. Not the man, the passion did.
Can’t WAIT until they remake The Little Mermaid to “remake Ariel in a Stronger Female Character” even if that’s not what this story need /sarcasm.
So yea long story short I think executives who are trying to say “how to better female characters kids loved” just completely missed why kids loved those characters to start with, and so instead it’s just pushing down our throat “shhh you love it the wrong way, here how you should love it too be More Progressive” and this is just annoying.
So yeah. Wait and see for the Aladdin’s remake but I have very little hope.
Oh boy and it reminds me everything they planned for the Mulan remake *takes a huge breath* i dont know if i’m strong enough.
Take care!

Three Wishes Institute - a TWST fanschool
I’ve been posting ALOT about three wishes character wise but I wanted to do a bit of a lore dump on the school itself, and then maybe make some separate posts for things like the dorm environments, uniforms, clubs, etc.
The old headmistress was moved by Amelia’s words and when she back to health she revealed herself to be a powerful sorceress (the enchantress from Beauty and the Beast).
The dorm reps can be split into the 'main' representative and a 'vice' but are pretty much on the same ground as far as their authority goes - the 'main' is just the one more available to perform duties or attend all the meetings while the 'vice' is kind of like a back up /fall back if the first can't make it. Normally it’s preferable if all representatives can make to meetings and events.
The dorms:
This section I’ll be updating overtime as I list out the characters I want to design - most are still not designed yet as I’m kind of slow but I have concepts for all of them more or less it’s just a matter of getting time / energy to work on them.
Most generally follow the general color coordination of their dorms (to be listed later), though there are exceptions.
* ‘s indicate that dorm’s representatives

Arts & Graphics: February’s Writing Challenge Winner!
February’s theme for the Arts & Graphics forum on HEXRPG was all about The White Queen! In this challenge, writers had to come up with an origin story for a White Queen. The catch? It must be in the form of a prose and they can’t use the word ‘white.’
3rd Place: Morgana Malipiero
Mirana and her sister Iracebeth were both born in Marmoreal. The blonde, blue-eyed and pale-skinned sister Mirana was destined to become the Queen of Underland, while Iracebeth was fated to be known in the future as the Red Queen, due to her flaming red locks and freckled complexion. In the kingdom of Marmoreal, everyone agreed that Mirana was the more beautiful of the two princesses and she was favoured to make a very glorious match with the crown prince of a neighbouring kingdom. Whether this would turn out to be a love match was very doubtful. It was to be an arranged marriage which meant that there was the chance that it would be love or hate a first sight, or the gradual getting to know one another over the course of many years.
It was not known by many people that Mirana had a mean streak. Her loyal subject the Mad Hatter often commented that she could be as terrifying as her sister Iracebeth and in order to understand this better we need to dig deep into her life history to know why it is that Mirana turned out the way she did. Beauty is only skin deep, or so they say. MIrana appeared to be sugar and spice and all things nice, but her downfall had been her mean streak and a jealousy that knew no bounds when it came to competing with her sister Iracebeth.
When they were young, the two sisters had always been very competitive. Being the older sibling, it might have been assumed that Iracebeth would be the one favoured by their parents but in fact, it was the other way round. Mirana’s blue eyes and beautiful hair as pale as the winter snow gave her the classic looks of a storybook princess. Breaking with tradition, their parents declared that Mirana would be the Queen of Underland, not her sister. This might have been enough to make Iracebeth protest and do her worst but she held her tongue, hoping that her parents might change their minds when they saw how spiteful and mean Mirana really was. Iracebeth plotted silently and finally came up with an idea to expose her sister’s bad behaviour to their parents. She came up with a game in which the two sisters had to create a list of impossible things that they could believe before breakfast.
“Mirana, my dear sister,” said Iracebeth, “I can believe three impossible things before breakfast. Number 1: There's a potion that can make you shrink. Number 2: there’s a cake that can make you grow taller. Number 3: Animals can talk.”
“Well, I can do better than than you. I can believe FOUR impossible things before breakfast. Number 1: The Cheshire cat can disappear. Number 2: There's a place called Wonderland. Number 3: I can slay the Jabberwocky. Number 4. I will be happily married even though my marriage is an arranged one.”
Iracebeth stamped her foot, and replied, “Well, I can believe FIVE impossible things before breakfast. Add these to the three I mentioned earlier. Number four: You will never know years and years of happiness with the prince that you think you are going to marry. Number 5: You will live your life backwards from the future to the past, totally in the wrong order!”
“And my number five is that I will turn you into a vile Red Queen who is forever screaming “Off with their Heads! Off with their Heads!” and my number six is that everyone will hate you as much as I hate you and as much as mother and father hate you and as much as your husband will . . . . . ”
Mirana stopped shrieking when she turned to see that her parents, the King and Queen had entered the room. They had heard everything that she had said and their faces were downcast. “Mirana, my dear daughter,” said her mother. “Do you not know that there is great power in words? You cannot throw words out to the wind like that. Words have meaning. What you say will come to pass - and sadly, I predict that what Iracebeth said will also come to pass. Your father and I cannot help you now. In future, you should think before you speak. As Queen of Underland, your words will be taken seriously by all of your people as well as the rulers of neighbouring kingdoms - both your friends and your foes. Now be gone, out of our sight. We are not pleased to look at you now. Your thoughtless words and spiteful behaviour are not fitting for a future ruler of our beloved people.”
The two princesses left the room and Iracebeth poked Mirana in the arm. “See what you have done now, you have invoked our parents’ displeasure and this will not turn out well for you or for me. I only wished to show our parents that you are mean and nasty to me. I did not want to end up being cursed by your wayward words.”
And so it came to pass. Iracebeth became the Red Queen who was feared and hated by all of her subjects. They fled from her sight when they saw her approaching because she was always shrieking that so-and-so’s head should be cut off. And even though she was able to overthrow her sister and become Queen of Underland, Iracebeth never experienced any joy or happiness because of it.
Mirana never knew great happiness with her husband. She ended up living her life backwards from the age of one hundred and twenty back to fifteen years old - the moment when those wayward words had taken hold of the two princesses' life paths. It happened that her future husband heard the story of why his wife had been cursed and he shunned her from the day after their wedding. Mirana was doomed to be known as an icy, frigid and loveless queen without a kingdom. Although she was considered to be absent-minded - if not totally crazy - it was because she was living her life in the wrong order. She always seemed to talk about things that had happened in her past when in fact, her past was her future - so everything that she said came out as gobbledegook.
A queen who was universally hated because she was always screaming and yelling to behead her subjects, and another queen who was doomed to live her life backwards from end to beginning rather than the right way round. The power of words is very great, dear reader. Always make sure to choose your words wisely.

talking abt the visual novel characters under the cut <3
mayhart player character. red-haired human commoner, youngest child of her family, last child born of her mother before mother died and father remarried. shorter than average (5′2″ as female, 5′5″ as male) named mayhart because she was born on the fourth of may. wild & uncontrollable, bearing a rage that she herself doesn’t even understand. grew up a commoner alongside her childhood friend yerick. widely rumored in town to be a changeling- she doesn’t act the way a normal human should, never knowing when to leave well enough alone or how to calm down and settle for her lot in life (the number of times when she, accompanied with yerick, has been chased back to town by some beast she provoked in the woods is uncountable). was recently conscripted into the army and adopted by the duchess koballe after her latent magic appeared. one of very few people who can use offensive magic and not purely reconnaissance/traveling magic. finally has an outlet for her rage, and somewhat hates the things she does. wears standard military uniform but badly- doesnt entirely understand how all the straps & bindings work and will not learn :) as the player character, she can be male or female. as a male, his rage turns inward, and as a result he is less open with his own emotions and keeps all his feelings hidden within himself. openly contemptuous of the war, but far more polite than his female counterpart. neither version holds any respect for anyone who hurts the weak. neither can hold their liquor either. 21 in human years
demavieve eldest princess of the draconic realm- as such, the future sovereign. the draconic realm is the only country allied with perine in this war which makes several people very nervous (its like if the us allied with luxembourg in a war against belgium france germany & the uk excep the us was the only country with nukes). demavieve has a very strong sense of honor though so constrains herself to a human form along with swordplay. this is less dangerous than it seems because if demavieves human form dies then she just turns back into her draconic form. her human form also has red hair, but its far more tameable than mayhart’s. she wears it tied back in a ponytail in general. she wears a perine knight’s uniform with vestments from the draconic realm to signify that she is (a) a foreign-lent soldier and (b) a commander. her human form is muscular and about 6′6″. hot and well aware of it.arrogant but also very friendly about it- ‘you love me? haha, of course you are! you seem great too!’. kind of sees this whole thing as a game- dragons live a lot longer than humans, and something like this is just a blip on her radar. very low empathy until someone she cares about is hurt at which point everything goes out the window (and she cares about pretty much all the perine soldiers- not in a very respectful way, but she loves them all and she goes apeshit sometimes). very friendly with serenina. can absolutely hold her liquor. only romanceable as f!mayhart. 23 in human years, ~150 in real time.
serenina the only princess of the former emperor and empress. i spoke about her in more detail in another post so this is gonna mostly be glossed over. wears her hair in afropuffs cause she does her own hair and shes proud of it. temporal (reconnaissance) magic. desperate to please. legally only friends with demavieve, although also friendly with yerick. about 5′0″ although she desperately wants to grow taller (unlikely). her eyes look like theyre black but if you look closely (which she probably wont let you do) theyre actually purple/indigo. is completely out of touch with the rest of the world because shes a princess but she is also very sincere and tries her best to be helpful when she can. very expressionless and sensible. not very well-liked as the former princess of the warmongering emperor and empress. actually very touch starved. does not wear standard military uniform outside of mage’s robes, which she wears over tea dresses (which is another reason some soldiers dislike her) is kept away from alcohol as much as grayson can and as such will get drunk off half a cup of wine. sleepy drunk. 18 in human years.
grayson the bastard son of the former emperor, sereninas older half-brother. grew up as a commoner in the same area as serenina & yerick until he was brought into the royal castle at age 9. fiercely protective of serenina. faux affable- you know the ‘expressionless smile’ princes from otome games/manga always have? thats graysons face pretty much always. legally not eligible to the crown (due to some religious issues with committing patricide & stepmatricide) but like. like hes already doing everything? yk how it is. highest commander of his troops attempting to broker peace with the other countries perine was at war with (most noticeably alloue, nawolem, & farik in order to attack caledonia, which was the puppeteer behind the former reign) but is not above underhanded methods/tactics including attacking noncombatant targets (they dont even have geneva). very intelligent & very calculating- consistently calculates highest reward/lowest risk maneuvers and has them executed flawlessly. his own cunning scares him on occasion, but he mostly locks that away- theres no time for those kinds of feelings in war. a foil to f!mayhart- she is wild, he is restrained; she shows her true feelings regardless, he always acts at a happy neutral; mayhart confronts her uncomfortable feelings, grayson hides them from everyone. about 5′11″, has long dreads that he keeps tied back. dressed in perfect military regalia, including commander’s cape & military crown (basically just a circlet). also cant hold his liquor- hes nearly as bad as serenina. 25 in human years.
izyn the son of count dau claire, the only noble house in perine that has been loyal to grayson since before the deaths of the former emperor and empress. very quiet because he has social anxiety. completely brainless. very friendly but his height (6′4″) and imposing aura (he gets nervous) means that the only people who can easily communicate with him are yerick and grayson. black hair, cropped short, and green eyes. skilled swordsman, mid-commander. will get trapped in an unwinnable situation which yerick needs to save him from. wears his military uniform right but...........not really? he wears the base uniform right but always forgets his commander’s cape. has a dedicated fanbase that came about when he did his training shirtless. literally doesnt think that any of his problems are that deep (honestly doesnt think anything is that deep). suffice to say, theres a reason why count dau claire never shows up and doesnt seem to be involved in any of the decision making of the count’s matters. very protective of yerick (younger brother). is the most visibly affected by the war- as the one who is usually in the center of the violence and doesnt have a survival cheat like demavieve, he has pretty bad ptsd which coupled with his anxiety issues make him a hot mess. his hobbies include hiding in dark rooms that have been reinforced to the point where literally only yerick can get in. despite his size he gets drunk very easily- not as bad as grayson & serenina, but 1-2 mugs of beer puts him out. 26 in human years. only romanceable as m!mayhart
yerick adopted son of count dau clarie. childhood friend of mayhart. born an orphan, an old woman took care of him til he was 4 and she died. stuck around mayharts town cause their family would give him food whenever he stopped by. still ended up fairly malnourished. small but vicious- hes screamed at mayhart lots of times for the stupid shit they would get him into and is not afraid to smack some sense into them. however he is not a good fighter because hes physically very weak- most of his energy in developing went to his magical capabilities, which came to fruition when he was 6. about a year after that (with a great deal more shunning from the townsfolk besides mayhart), he was adopted by count dau claire. was sealed with a subordination seal (used in order to ensure compliance with reasonable requests as long as a reasonable argument is made) for a year to ensure that he wouldnt run away. izyn liked him right away, but it took about 18 months for yerick to not be completely vicious whenever he was approached. as of the modern day of the vn, yerick is as protective over izyn as izyn is him- yerick has seen some of the worst of the world, and in his opinion izyn has not (this is despite the fact that izyn helped overthrow the royal family at age 15 but in fairness to him izyn told yerick none of this) so he wants to make sure his big brother stays happy. yerick holds absolutely no loyalty towards count dau claire or even to grayson- he is loyal to his own needs first, with a decent second being izyn and an even further distant third being mayhart & their family. very prickly & well acquainted with the fact that most people are inherently selfish and would turn away from an orphan on the streets. abandonment issues. his spatial magic is mostly used on rescue ops (mostly mostly getting izyn out of situations where hes surrounded by enemy soldiers but this extends to other perine soldiers). wears his uniform properly, including mage’s robes & commander’s cape over the standard perine uniform. hates to ever appear weak ever, so when he has to go to the medical tent izyn has to either force him there or pretend to be tsundere and throw bandages at him. izyn desperately wants to dote on him but that is one of yericks Hard Boundaries. theres like ONE time when yerick falls asleep because of arcane overexertion and izyn piggybacks him back to camp and yerick acts like its the most shameful secret in the world. foil to m!mayhart- very open with his anger & feelings and shows when he is angry and accepts that part of himself, open with his loyalties and doesnt give a fuck about it, doesnt like the war but does respect it. despite his size, it takes easily 3 barrels of alcohol to even get him tipsy, izyns lack of alcohol tolerance pisses him off cause he has to walk him back to his tent. 5′4″ and wants to grow taller but has accepted his fate. 19 in human years.
eliya legally not a combatant. former princess of caledonia, was discovered at 12 to hold the power of the divine will and so was sent away from her mother and father (who she perceived as loving) to be raised within the church as a holy sacrifice (those who hold the power of the divine will release a huge psychic shockwave when theyre killed, so she was basically raised to be a holy tyke bomb). has a lot of religious obsession, prays 3x a day and has been brainwashed into believing in the power of holy judgement- essentially, her church handler (aka the deacon of the church where she was raised) has raised her to believe that if she commits a sin she’ll be killed so she has a LOT of anxiety over doing the right thing.at the same time shes been brainwashed into believing that doing anything in the service of the throne of caledonia is morally & theologically correct. shes also had occasional contact with her parents (like a yearly dinner or smth) and so still has a lot of loyalty to them due to how they manipulated her and her relationship with her little siblings (7 yrs younger x 2, 2 yrs younger, 13 yrs younger). completely devoted to her church, would gladly martyr herself for them (however this wouldnt trigger the shockwave needed by the army). is loyal to her parents, the deacon, and then the church. is captured by the perine army after a raid on a noncombatant area and spends a lot of time figuring herself out. foil to serenina (esp in terms of loyalty & parents/siblings, emotions (eliya has a lot of them and shows them, serenina is the opposite), their royal treatment, their relationship with trust (serenina doesnt, eliya does and worringly easily). long golden hair, light blue eyes. wears neither a military uniform nor a priests’ uniform, instead wears a one-piece white ‘dress’ (really more a tunic/oversized shirt) & is barefoot. desperate for attention, praise, love, etc. widely disliked due to her POW status but she really thinks shes making all these friends. has quite literally not been able to make her own choices since she was 12 years old. above average alcohol tolerance but nowhere near yerick. 19 in human years.

Lionel Bonaventure/GettyThis story is part of Covering Climate Now, a global collaboration of more than 220 news outlets to strengthen coverage of the climate story. ROME–When Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg was 11 years old, her body had started to shut down due to severe self-starvation tied to debilitating depression. She spoke to almost no one but her immediate family. She was afraid of crowds. She was lost in her own world, and the world very nearly lost her.But thanks to the formal diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome coupled with high-functioning autism and obsessive compulsive disorder, the now-16-year-old Swede has become quite literally the poster child for the generation that will have to deal with the destruction of our planet. Once she started receiving multifaceted treatment, Thunberg was able to channel her anxiety into something we should all be concerned about: the health of the planet and the science behind apocalyptic warnings of its demise. In October 2018, Thunberg started having anxiety-ridden 3 a.m. nightmares, but unlike before, they were not about her. The recurring nightmares were about the impact of global warming on the planet, according to the book, Scenes From the Heart, she wrote with her parents and sister Beata, who also suffers from many of the same emotional conditions. This time, instead of holing up in her bedroom as she did before treatment, she decided that her anxiety about the climate needed to become everyone else's, too. One of the aspects of her complicated diagnosis is obsession. Her family says she just wouldn't let the idea go that the planet was burning up and there was ample science to prove it. She did not understand why no one was doing anything. She could not comprehend why adults and policy makers were ignoring the issue. She started skipping school on Fridays to protest, all alone, on the steps of the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm where she grew up. Slowly–and in some ways inexplicably—the protests, which were dubbed Fridays for Future, caught on and soon she was joined by tens, then scores, then hundreds of Swedish children demanding that adults start paying attention to science when it comes to climate change. Soon, the girl who once would not leave her bedroom was traveling across Europe to draw her peers out of the classrooms and onto the streets for the sake of the environment. Since she began not even a year ago, the protests have been held in 100 cities by teen activists. Her intensity has become her secret weapon and her now-famous speeches at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, in front of the British Parliament and at the United Nations’ COP24 Climate Talks, landed her a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize this year. “You have ignored us in the past, and you will ignore us again,” she told the World Economic Forum in Davos. “You say you love your children above all else, and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes.”“Those who will be affected the hardest are already suffering the consequences,” she scolded the British Parliament. “But their voices are not heard. Is my microphone on? Can you hear me?”When she was invited to speak at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York to be held later this month, she was faced with a dilemma. Would she look like a hypocrite hopping on a jet, leaving the very carbon footprint she had won such acclaim railing against? Instead, she took a state-of-the art carbon-zero yacht called the Malizia II, and made the journey by sea. The Malizia II is owned by German property developer Gerhard Senft. It was built as a high-tech racing craft that was designed to collect data for scientists studying rates of ocean acidification from carbon emissions. Senft offered use of the boat and crew when he heard Thunberg wanted to sail across the Atlantic to address the climate summit. In the 14 days at sea, some of them in inclement weather, the crew didn't turn on the motor once. The Malizia II crew was led by Pierre Casiraghi, who happens to be the grandson of Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and actress Grace Kelly. The yacht is kitted out with solar panels and hydro generators, meaning it is completely emission-free. But its spare design doesn't have a functioning toilet, shower or other amenities. Not everyone wants to hear Thunberg’s message and there is a growing chorus of people who say she and her obsessive condition are being exploited for political purposes. Thunberg has been the object of cruel attacks from climate change deniers who have used her medical conditions against her. Arron Banks, a prominent British businessman who bankrolled the drive for Brexit, tweeted, “Freak yachting accidents do happen in August.” He later said the tweet was a joke, but he has not removed it from his feed. Far-right groups across Europe have chided her and her message, referring to the "apocalyptic dread in her eyes” and saying many other things far too cruel to repeat. There is an argument to be made that climate deniers tend to be men and climate activists, with the exception of Al Gore, tend to be women, sparking debate whether there is a misogynistic element to the debate. A 2016 study in the Journal of Consumer Research,“Is Eco-Friendly Unmanly? The Green-Feminine Stereotype and Its Effect on Sustainable Consumption,” backs up the theory. “Men may shun eco-friendly behavior because of what it conveys about their masculinity,” the authors write. “It’s not that men don’t care about the environment. But they also tend to want to feel macho, and they worry that eco-friendly behaviors might brand them as feminine.”Thunberg’s most vocal critics, it has to be said, are all men, but many of them actually go beyond misogyny and come very close to shaming her for her Asperger’s.Steve Milloy, a former Trump staffer and full-time Thunberg obsessive, regularly tweets about the “climate puppet.” He claims that the “the world laughs at this Greta charade,” often posting pictures of the teenager in awkward poses. Her response has always been swift to her 1.4 million Twitter followers and 3.1 million followers on Instagram. “I am indeed ‘deeply disturbed’ about the fact that these hate and conspiracy campaigns are allowed to go on and on and on just because we children communicate and act on the science,” she tweeted in August. “Where are the adults?”Thunberg chronicled her journey to America by sea on her social media, but after each post is a usual barrage of hate, insults and cruelty of the kind you might expect on a playground. She reads them all, often commenting, but most often questioning why people just don't want to see the truth. When she neared Manhattan in late August after two weeks on the high seas, she was escorted into the harbor by a fleet of 17 boats representing the U.N.’s sustainability development goals and hordes of teens who stood in the rain at 3 a.m. to cheer her to shore. Many will attend the Fridays for Future protest in New York City on September 20. Others just wanted to get a glimpse of their unlikely heroine. But one person she won’t see when she is in the U.S. is President Donald Trump. She has not been invited to meet him, but if she is, she told her supporters that she would decline because she has “nothing to say” to those who don’t believe the science. “I usually ignore them,” she said when asked recently what she would tell a climate change denier like Trump. “I have nothing to say to them and they have nothing to say to me.”She added that, indeed, if she did meet the president or someone “like him” she would keep going back to the science. “Many people think climate change is an opinion,” she said. “But it's not an opinion, it's a fact.”On September 23, Thunberg will address the U.N. Climate Change Summit, quoting from her recent book No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference. She has held weekly Fridays for Future protests since her arrival in late August, inspiring hundreds of American teens to protest for policy changes. She has also inspired many of her peers to ignore the naysayers.  “When haters go after your looks and differences, it means they have nowhere left to go,” she tweeted a few hours after she docked in New York. “And then you know you’re winning! I have Aspergers and that means I’m sometimes a bit different from the norm. And - given the right circumstances- being different is a superpower.” Indeed, in the case of this young Swedish climate-busting hero, it most certainly is. Read more at The Daily Beast.Got a tip?
