Some skills in Guild Wars 2 don't make sense with the rest of their professions.

Guardian has a trait called "Glacial Heart" and turns one of your hammer skills to inflict chill on hit.

...you can see where this is going, right?

Guardian, outside of this, literally has *no* chill (heh) applications. Even when they specialize as a Firebrand, the healing and support aspects are water-based (which also doesn't make much sense) and light. Granted you could say it's what Firebrand lore dictates.

But Glacial Heart? Since when Guardians are capable of freezing people with a chilling slam? My problem with this is that it makes zero sense lore-wise; Guardians use Fire and Light magic to do their things, Dragonhunters make those lights solid, Firebrands use tomes to cast magics of its own, and Willbenders just become a martial artist altogether. At no instance does one of them picks up a hammer and go "oh yeah, somehow I'm going to use my magic so that it chills people when I hit them with this thing!"

Necro has a similar problem with Dhummfire, but the whole idea is further expanded with Scourge, who is all about Fire and Torment and Sand magic so it sort of goes in-line together.

Guardian just doesn't have that, and it irks me.

Hey Guardians! Fed up of Aegis ruining your pretty screenshots? Well have I got news for you, it's our friendly Willbender grand master trait called "Deathless Courage". Willbender's been out a while now, but I know a lot of people still don't know about this One Neat Trick!

"Courage no longer grants aegis". Get hit once to make the Aegis go away and it wont come back like it ususally does, so you don't have to scramble around for a few seconds to get the nice picture. Hurray. And now thanks to the weapon mastery ability in SotO you can still use your Firebrand axe and Dragonhunter longbow too!

Unfortunately, if you mount up the Aegis will come back, so it's kind of annoying if you need to get to an out of the way spot with no mobs for your screenshots, so uh, don't do that, k?

Thanks to a nearby tendril I aggroed to get rid of the Aegis, I can now take all the time I need to pose around!

Hurray. Stupid Aegis.

I always find the concept of tomes intriguing. How would Erris explain it to Logan, the good old core guard and her mentor, that she fights to protect precious knowledge, by summoning ancient tome, tearing them apart, igniting the pages and throw them at the enemies?
