È incredibile come un animaletto così piccolo possa causare con la sua assenza un dolore così grande.

Piccola Siria ti porterò sempre con me, ricorderò il tuo modo buffo di dimostrarmi affetto, la fiducia che riponevi in me e me soltanto, saltando sulla mia mano appena te la mettevo vicino; ricorderò il tuo girare attorno al divano e poi esausta addormentarti sulla mia coscia; ricorderò la tua intraprendenza: trovavi tutti i modi possibili per uscire dalla gabbietta, incitando Elio a seguirti; ricorderò il tuo squittio a ultrasuoni quando preparavo l'insalata. Ricorderò il modo in cui mi aspettavi sul tavolo pronta a lanciarti su di me e sistemarti sulla coscia, dove stavi per ore e ore senza muoverti e lasciando le tue piccole impronte. Mi manchi immensamente e ti vorrò sempre bene.
