[Eng. below] Bon, voilà une opération bien mystérieuse : gommer autour d'une dédicace sur une guitare... En fait il s'agit d'une gomme abrasive, permettant de poncer très précisément autour de la dédicace, afin d'avoir une bonne accroche du vernis de protection que je vais poser pour immortaliser le message. OK, that's a mysterious one : using an eraser around an inscription on a guitar... Well the "eraser" is an abrasive one, and allows to sand very precisely around the inscription, so that the protective finish I'm going to apply has something to bite into. [Eng. Below] Réparation de l'éclisse d'une Gretsch au niveau du jack. Après avoir fabriqué une presse sur mesure, je fabrique un renfort contreplaqué et redresse l'éclisse en même temps que je colle le renfort. Puis masticage et retouche de vernis, prête à partir, la zone est plus solide qu'à l'origine ! Repair of a Gretsch side around the jack hole. First I made a custom clamping tool, then I laminated a reinforcement patch. The second step is to glue the patch while clamping the side back in shape with the custom tool. [Eng. below] Pour réparer cette Jazzbass de 1965 dont le trussrod ne répondait plus, il a fallu découper et décoller l'extrémité de la touche. Réparation faite et touche recollée, l'utilisation de vapeur (fer à souder et linge humide) a permis de faire quasiment disparaître la découpe car il n'y a pas eu sciage donc pas de manque de matière (sciure). Un peu de masticage et de ponçage rend l'intervention invisible pour si ne sait pas où chercher car la découpe était faite en suivant les fibres (voir dernière photo). To repair this 1965 Jazzbass, I had to cut and unglue a piece of the fretboard. Once the trussrod fixed and the fretboard glued back, I used steam (soldering iron and damp rag) to make the cut disappear because it wasn't sawed in the first place hence no missing wood (saw dust).
