A father’s love

You moved to Paris when you were 18, fresh out of high school, to pursue your dream of being a photographer. You moved a lot during your childhood due to your father being a famous football player. He’s Olivier Giroud who plays for Milan and the Equipe de France. He’s the one who saved your life after being abandoned by your parents in an orphanage only when you were 5. You always thought you would have a miserable life, you never understood why your parents left you but when you were 7 your life changed completely. He adopted you, he welcomed you into his family and he cared for you like a parent should do.

You lived in Milan for a few years where you graduated high school but it came time for you to leave and chase your dreams.

Your dad fully supported you and you couldn’t be happier. He got you this small parisian apartment with a beautiful eiffel tower view and you couldn’t ask for me.

You started attending photography class and learnt a lot from there but the biggest opportunity of your life came when your accepted a stage as a photographer for the psg. You weren’t allowed to meet the players but you were grateful you could see all the psg matches.

Until one night you were attending a game, as usual, and you started taking pictures of the team. You were very good with portraits, even if you preferred the nature you were happy with the job you were doing.

You took a lot of pictures that night and PSG posted them all on their social.

That same night Kylian poster a picture that you took but instead of tagging PSG he tagged you.

You were shocked.

How did he know you were the one taking that picture?

You were completely shocked.

The day after he approached you while he was training. You were sat on the bench currently studying your program and occasionally taking pictures of the team while they were training.

“You have talent” he said sitting next to you

“Ehm-thank you” you replied in a soft tone

“I’m Kylian by the way”

“Y/n…”

“Y/n? Why does it sound so familiar? Wait…You’re Olivier’s daughter?” he asked a bit shocked

“Yes it’s me” you said smiling a bit

“Wow…”

“Does it shock you?”

“No-yes-I mean…what are you doing here? I thought you were all in Milan”

“I was…I was accepted into photography school here in Paris so I moved here…”

“That’s amazing…well I have to go back to training but I hope we can talk more afterward” he said and with that he left.

After that day you two became friends.

He would take you out in Paris and you would invite him over at your place for movie nights. But you were falling for him.

You couldn’t help it but you started feeling emotions everytime he looked at you. Like butterflies exploding into your stomach. You kept it a secret for a while before you told him. You knew he didn’t like you back but you had to tell him. You were wrong though.

When you confessed he kissed you. Passionately.

He told you he fell in love with you the moment he saw you the first time.

So you started dating.

But no one knew. Not even the team or his family. You wanted to keep it private, firstly because you were a very private person, secondly because he was terrified of your father finding out. You knew your dad wouldn’t approve.

You dating his teammate? Absolutely no!

So you dated, hiding from everyone and always been careful. And now it’s been a year you’re together.

But the World Cup moment came and you had to go in Qatar to support your dad (and your boyfriend) team.

You were terrified of him finding out but you also knew you couldn’t stay away from Kylian so you had to be very careful.

The first week was easy. Kylian would sneak out into your bedroom when everyone was fast asleep but more the days went on more it became complicated for you to see each other.

He trained more and you stayed in your bedroom more.

One night you decided to surprise him and went into his bedroom. It was a bit risky because his room was on the same floor your dad’s room was but you didn’t think about it so much.

What you didn’t know was that your dad saw you and Kylian kissing each other right in the corridor before he took your hand and led you into his room.

Your dad waited two hours outside Kylian’s room hoping you would come out but eventually he gave up. He definitely would have talk to you in the morning so he woke up earlier and waited for the rest of the team to go down and have breakfast.

“Où est Kylian?” your dad asked to his teammates pretending he didn’t know what was really going on

“Je ne sais pas” Adrien Rabiot answered before eating his breakfast.

Your dad finished breakfast before everyone else so he had time to go to Kylian’s room.

But before he could say anything he saw you coming out to Kylian’s room with him behind you holding your hands.

“Don’t you have anything to say?” your dad asked and you both jumped because of fear

“Dad I-“ you tried to say but honestly you had no idea of what to say

“Kylian?” your dad asked, while he crossed his arms and tensed his shoulder a little bit

“Olivier I swear I would never hurt her” Kylian admitted while not being able to hold eyes with your father, who, in that moment looked a little bit much intimidating

“Oh you better not. If you hurt her, if you break her heart, if you cheat on her, if you even think of cheating on her, if you make her cry, if you treat her bad, I’m gonna find out and you’re dead. Clear?” he asked in a very serious tone

“Yes sir. But I promise you, I would never ever hurt her. She’s the love of my life, I can’t even go a day without seeing her…” Kylian said to your dad and he soften his hard look a little bit

“I believe you Kyks…” Olivier said “now back to you y/n…why didn’t you tell me?” he asked a little bit disappointed

“I thought you wouldn’t approve. I mean you hated all the guys I’ve dated so…” you said in a soft voice

“Yes because at the time you were fifteen and the guys you dated were dickheads but now it’s different, you’re almost 20, you have your own career, you’re own place, you’re a young woman and whether I like it or not, you won’t staying single forever, I can’t protect you like I did when you were a kid so it’s okay for you to date and make new experiences…I just wished you weren’t scared to tell me…”

You couldn’t hold back tears and hug him “I know I’m so sorry dad”

“It’s okay honey, what matters now is that your happy”

“I am - I swear, Kylian makes me so much happy you have no idea” you said smiling while your dad wiped your tears away

“Good” he then said “Kylian, you better treat her good”

“Yes sir. You know I will” Kylian replied and your dad left to change into his training suits.

You and Kylian looked at each other trying to process what has just happened. You were shocked. Happy that your father approved cause having his approval was the most important thing for you.

You’ve done older sisters, but what would older brothers be like for them?

Ohh ok...love this. Hadn't really thought of this, but I'm invested now and picturing who they are 🤩 It's quite long...Struggled to find inspo gifs too

Pope's older brother would be the ultimate cool guy, always with a pair of headphones music blaring. Even the Kooks like him, not that they'd say that to your face. The guy everyone seems to know at the party. Very creative, works at a sign company painting or installing signs around the outer banks and sometimes further out. Teaching himself graphics design alongside his job, wants to start his own design company one day (this means he gets roped into making promo for the Heywards and other small businesses). Smart like Pope but downplays it big time so not much is expected of him. Very stylish and always looks good. Doesn't know what his little brother gets up to, but always covers for him when it comes to their parents wondering where he is. Gets on with the pogues the most out of the older brothers.

JJ's older brother I think would be someone that had shift based job and is coming and going at different hours. Part-time fireman? Handy man in between....(why am I picturing a young Matt Casey from Chicago fire 🤭) Short shaved dirty blond hair and physically fit. Can be a bit of a dick, but hey he's a Maybank...Tired of always trying to stop fights at home but doesn't like his little brother getting hurt. Tries his hardest to make money and give JJ some stability even if he doesn't quite know how. He makes more mistakes with his brother...he's still learning (JJ and him argue a lot). Pogues have a bet on who gets a smile out of him first and it's still running.

John B's older brother would be in the army. Sends home money for him but it's never on time. Come's home rarely, didn't get on with their father because of the years he spent searching for treasure. When he does come home, John B always reminds him "this isn't army bro, can't order me around." Joining the army was his way out of the outer banks. Let's John B fight his own battles, but gives him a few pointers on how to throw a better punch. Listen's to JJ's exaggerated stories and tells his mates back at base. Has a soft spot for Kie as she's always been the only girl and the boys tease him for softly speaking to her and being gentle.

Kiara's older brother is in with both the rich/poor side. Hangs around with Topper, Kelce and Rafe, but doesn't try to get too friendly with them. Networks at every kook event and then parties with his friends to de-stress. Doesn't like JJ or John B (sorry), thinks they are a bad influence on his little sister. Works with their parents and studies business part-time. Want to say he was popular at school and was a star athlete at a sport, lots of girls like him. Kiara teases him about his group of fan girls waiting for him after games etc. Does have a steady girlfriend now though, that their parents approve of. Tries to get Kiara in with a kook crowd, but after her fall out with Sarah she was never interested in trying to fit in. Knows of Pope's older brother and hangs out with him during parties, but has never spent time with him outside of that.

📖 Give me a fic recommendation I have two (out of three) fic rec lists here and here. I'm not sure how many BE fics you've read but here is my selection for you (one for each rating)

🌺 Where are your favourite character(s) going next? Uhhhhh.... Okay, I am going to focus on one character in particular as I don't have the brain capacity to write about every single character I love.

So, Dong Sik, Dong Sik, Dong Sik.... My guy! One of my favourite headcanons for Dong Sik is that after his probation and getting court-mandated therapy (and actually finding it helpful), after selling Jin Mook's property, and renting his parent's home out to Jae Yi, he moves out of Manyang. I don't believe he moves very far, perhaps to Munju or a town nearby... perhaps to another smaller area on the outskirts of Seoul?? For a while, he struggles (in general) with what to do next career-wise. But with the help of his probation officer, he gets a job at a youth centre in a quieter part of Seoul.

(In reality, would he be able to do this with a criminal record??? I don't know, but I'm thinking strings were pulled and considering the crimes he committed and why he committed them, and blah blah blah, he's allowed)

He loves it. He's fantastic at it and it gives him a new lease on life. Dong Sik is a natural with those younger than himself and considering the difficult life he has led thus far, he has the skills, the personality and the life lessons to help guide teenagers/young people going through a difficult time. Picture him making stupid jokes in the recreational room, pulling the quiet kids to the side to have a chat about what's going on at home, knowing when parents/guardians are abusive, putting the Little Shits in their place when they get too cocky, etc

He stays late for the kids that have nowhere to go. He has a "great" relationship (it's complicated) with the police, so when one (or three) of the kids end up at the local police station, he's set it up so that he is called before their parents. The kids look up to him, they listen to what he's got to say (even the more difficult ones), and he's able to help guide them in a way he wasn't able to do for Yu Yeon and Min Jeong.

I love this idea so much that I have incorporated it in many of my writing projects, as I just adore the idea of him doing something that involves him being surrounded by community and life.

✨ Tell me one story from a character's childhood and one story from their later years

When Ji Hoon was ten, Ji Hwa picked him up from school. It wasn't common for her to do this, as she was often working, and their mother was usually the one left with this task. However, that particular day was different. The family had recently moved to a different area in Munju, meaning that Ji Hoon had been moved schools and the Oh sibling's mother was busy that day. So, on Ji Hoon's first day, Ji Hwa offered to do it instead.

Now, from my understanding and guessing, Ji Hoon is about 25 in the show (I'm probably wrong), meaning he's roughly 15 years younger than his sister. So, when a 25-year-old Ji Hwa rocked up to the school gates, Ji Hoon's new classmates mistake her for his mum.

Hilarity ensues for years to come (mainly just Dong Sik and Jung Je being absolute menaces about the whole thing).

When Ji Hoon is 35, his father passes away. He passes in March, leaving a community feeling empty without the beloved local taekwondo instructor. Ji Hwa deals with it as well as can be expected, but Ji Hoon struggles. One of the many reasons why he struggles is because in the July of the same year, he's due to get married, and the family believed they had enough time left together for his father to attend.

The family of four were all together when Papa Oh died and in the following months, Ji Hoon is supported through a very difficult time. His fiancé is brilliant and is able to stop him from falling into a depression. One of the reasons she's able to help him through this is because her own father passed when she was young, so she knows exactly what he's going through.

This sad turn of events leaves a missing piece in their wedding plans. As [insert name here]'s own father isn't able to give her away during the ceremony, Ji Hoon's father was going to do it instead. But now, without him there, they have to find someone new.

They ask Dong Sik.
