meet yi seul, darling of the entire royal family.  she’s the golden child tbh

loosely based her character personality on yeonwoo from the moon that embraces the sun

believes she’s her father’s favourite child which is why he hasn’t married her off for political gain yet ( probably bc she actually is ).  she adores him more than anything in the world even if she disagrees with some of his choices, but she hardly ever gets to see him

10/10 would hype up her siblings - all of them.  she isn’t the type to discriminate between half and full blood sibs

opinionated, but generally knows her place and when to hold her tongue.  the typical Gentle Woman you would see in this time period, with a few quirks.  she was basically conditioned to worry about appearances due to her training as a princess, so she won’t speak out of turn but you can tell that there’s always a storm brewing in her eyes

often studies and reads on her own, most of the time in secret.  knows both hanja and hangul; will often speak her mind on things if she’s given permission to or if she trusts the person enough to do so 

the kind of girl who is honestly ahead of her time

cares very much for her handmaidens and those of lower status; doesn’t take kindly to separation due to status

rather idealistic and hopeful for change.  because of this, she can be a bit naive and too trusting

was kidnapped not long after she turned fifteen in an assassination attempt.  after she was saved, more guards were placed around her rooms in the palace.  for a short time, she was sent to a vacation home in an attempt to completely isolate her to spare her from another situation like this

she’s not really shown signs of being affected by this situation, but who knows what pain she’s hiding deep down because of it.  she hasn’t really spoken about the situation since it happened and any attempts to bring it up will end up with seul changing the subject

a lot of people know about the attempted assassination though.  it’s very likely that even yangban children would have heard rumours of it even if they don’t know what she really looks like; many lower class citizens would have probably lamented over this bc they’ve heard of the genuine kindness and genteel nature of seul in particular

...... just let her read her books and write her poetry tbh she’ll be the happiest clam

meet ahn yonghan, youngest son of minister ahn and probably what you’d consider a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

a boy with the second son syndrome and also an older brother complex.  yeesh

in terms of personality, he’s pretty twisted.  might even be considered a sociopath in modern terms, who knows

rather dashing, extremely charming, but wouldn’t hesitate to stick a knife in your gut or something if you’ve given him cause to.  no, i’m not joking

prone to apathy, and doesn’t connect to things very easily.  but when he does connect with them, expect a bit of obsession - hence his relationships with his brother and his best friend, hyukun

extremely smart.  i mean, extremely smart, to the point that people cluck their tongues and whisper about how he’s wasting his talents.  he graduated sungkyunkwan super early, not because he hated school but because he wanted to impress his father for once and catch up to his older brother’s back who seemed so far away

fact of the matter is, nothing he did was noticeable and it really disappointed him.  all he ever got to see was his father spewing insults and then cooing over his older brother at parties and things so it got to be pretty damaging for his psyche

moved out into his own estate and just lazes now.  blows his father’s money on gisaengs, liquor, and paint / ink supplies

his mind is still unnaturally sharp, but he doesn’t put it to good use.  chances are he’s probably thinking of seven evil ( or sometimes good ) plots a day, but is too lazy or doesn’t care to do anything

he’s pretty ambitious but doesn’t have the motivation to put it to good use right now? so that’s going to come about in the rp, stay tuned -

has a tendency to sleep around, with both men and women.  there are rumours that he’s fathered at least one bastard son, but they aren’t true i promise -

( i gotta get caught up on seul and yonghan too i’m sorry, but this guy came in Too StrongTM. )  anyways, you know the drill: like to plot, intro under the cut! there will be triggers present - namely injuries, war mentions, etc. just so you’re aware of that before you read ;u;

this is my baby im jinil, the loyalist eldest son of section head general im! twin brother of jinha and older brother of jinae!

super sweet, super loyal, super dedicated to everything that he does.  but he’s also very much a dreamer and has a lot of hopes for the future which is odd in a country full of turmoil like this

but he really wanted to raise joseon up to be a great country full of proud, strong roots.  really wanted to serve the king, and the crown prince, for the rest of his life

girls love him, guys love him, your mom prob wants him to be her son in law

loved crown prince hwan.  cried for days after hearing he died on the battlefield but vowed to protect the next crown prince twice as fiercely

was actually close to deokhwa before he became crown prince because deokhwa was a military boy just like him, but then things Changed ... but jinil truly believes deokhwa can win the heart of the people and vowed to him his loyalty

very much a Good Guy, 10/10 would die for joseon and almost did 

he’s been training to be in wars all of his life, and rose up through the ranks to become a grand general before his injury

but then, he was injured at the hands of a pirate on the battlefield.  he barely escaped with his life, but now he can’t go back to war and do all the things he’d hoped to do, so he’s not sure if it was for the better

he risked his all protecting san though, and that’s something that he doesn’t regret

because the injury was to his leg and it was pretty severe, he walks with a limp.  as he grows older, he’ll probably have to use a cane to walk with

it also pains him a lot in the cold months.

he’s pretty resigned to his fate right now but also, very sad about it.  because the thing he worked so hard for all his life kind of crashed and burned before his eyes

but the king thought he was deserving ( even if he doesn’t believe he is ), so for his heroism he decided to grant him a betrothal to his daughter.  jinil was kind of skeptical about it at first and then he laid eyes on miyoung and yikes,,,,,, the boy is smitten

kind of heartbroken tho that she clearly doesn’t want to get married to him but he still smiles about it anyway

above else, hyunsoo will do anything to protect his family and while he had wished a simple life when he was younger, he has come to accept his fate

some might think that he is too quiet and maybe even distant but he prefers to listen and observe than to rush into things

unfortunately, he has learned that in the world he lives in, it’s best to hide his cards to win at the game and being the eldest son, he feels like it’s his responsibility to do so

he doesn’t have sympathy for those that act foolishly or that bluntly defy their roles and while he might not show his dislike outwardly, he will definitely, judge them

he thinks is impossible to defy your fate but if anyone has done it successfully, they have his respect

he is married to queen munjeong’s eldest daughter, yeonghwa

was in love with a young woman that he knew he could never marry but he loved her and even though it hurt he was glad that she left safe and sound

he is a royal ambassador so he travels a lot and seeing that everywhere power is the most important thing has made him wary of everyone and maybe a little bitter

around his friends, he is is known to joke around and is not afraid to be frank but those are few

hello, hello, this is rosé with a second muse! i also play hahn, and am bringing you my daughter, soojung, the only daughter of special advisor young. she’s rather naïve on the outside, playing pretend like a good daughter that her father raised her to be, but pretty lethal on the inside. she’s currently betrothed to the youngest son of navy general kang’s, jaejoong. they’re still in engagement level, but she’s trying her best to be a good and supportive wife even when her heart is not there yet. without further ado, please like this if you’d like to plot with either one of my children! i can also be found on twitter and discord, simply inquire because i change my usernames a lot. now, without further ado, here’s where her bio can be found, and i’ll summarize her under the cut. trigger warning for parental death, mentions of gore, and general messiness.

an only daughter, she lost her mother in an assault in the middle of the night when they were sleeping together. her mother died in front of her, bloodied. she almost got murdered during the same timeframe as well, the attackers unknown but back then her father was someone of moderate importance. it was likely of personal vendetta. she was saved just in time, and not all of the attackers were captured or killed in place, so her father was and is scared of their safety still.

she didn’t understand about her mother’s death until she was older, which etched trauma in her. she began to comprehend why, in secret, her father would equip her with self-defense, since the probabilities of their being attacked again were still there. she detests the politics since she believes it’s to blame for her mother’s death, and also detests being weak in general.

her father raised her to be a weapon, inevitably, able to survive in case he gets killed and she’s left alone in the world. she’s able to draw swords and daggers, and mix poisons from given spices or leaves. can survive in the wilderness. one thing, though: she cannot swim in the sea, even when she can in the river. which is fairly risible for her soon-to-be husband, apparently. and it is, because she’s marrying a naval officer with questionable intentions that she’s going to 170% support.

in spite of marrying her into a family that he more or less knows ( well or not, up to discussion ), her father told her that she’s always welcome back in case her husband happens to be not a good one. in her case, though, she’s likely to cut his fingers first and cook it in front of him before escaping the marriage. but that hopefully will not happen, depending on how events unfold.

before her betrothal, she was courted by many men because she shows the tendencies of being a good wife: mastery at painting, flower arranging, cooking, socializing. being civil, donning the unassuming front is her specialty. she’s basically trying her best to survive in this men’s world, and she does so by exploiting the god-given talents and looks. she’s very friendly, especially to protect her father’s pride. if anyone tries touching her father she’ll fite.

so y’know as the only son shoulders most of the burdens that first born sons ( and only sons ) carry and he absolutely hates it

has a cute little sister @dalxdeokhye that he absolutely loves and will be hell-bent to make sure she’s always happy

before he left for war ( three years ago ) he was absolutely carefree, one of the boys who fucked around; in school, with people, the likes -- did everything in his power to be everything his father didn’t want him to be 

but there comes a point where you just have to give in because you’d done everything to disappoint your father and reality just Loves to hit you in the face ( aka exactly what his father did ) and turn your world upside down

his father literally bricked him and was like grow up and lo and behold, deoksu listened to him because he saw how much of a f*ck up he became and he wanted to prove that he could be better, do better ( to be able to deserve the girl he loved and to finally become something his father would look up to and also he couldn’t let his sister down either rip bc deoksu u rly a fuck up idk how you can live )

so, you’d think the war would change that way about him but you’re wrong

what really changed him was a girl and that girl changed everything for him

aka the way he saw the sky, the sun, his family, just everything

it’s a real life or death kind of thing; like he really is in love with her ( present-tense bc he’s still in love with her ; she’s the one who got him through the war lbr )

he definitely did not have a knack for battle or war but having a father with High connections gets you places aka lbr how he got his general position so suddenly and why he was able to finally come home after three years

comes home and finds out the love of his life is married, with a baby and he thinks doesn’t love him anymore so rip deoksu about to go on a benders

also to answer the question once more -- he’s a player bc he’s hellbent on getting his love back ... even tho she’s married .... and has a kid ....

･ﾟ✧   mama mia, here i go with the late af intro post! hello, this is my darling daughter jung dahye and she’s ruined from the get go, i’m sorry.  i don’t really have anything much to say besides like this post to plot! you know what to do by now, don’t you?  there’s some info and a few vague plots listed under the cut, so if that helps you out when trying to brainstorm, then great.  i’ll come into your inboxes and answer my welcomes here in a bit!

trigger warnings for fire, death mentions, parental abuse, and burn injuries

he obviously wanted a son, but figured that his daughter was good looking enough to potentially marry off into a more powerful position since he’s one of the lowest ranked head generals.  but life doesn’t always work how you want it to, does it general jung? no, it doesn’t.

getting off into the basics, she’s the only cousin of jung hyukun and he’s honestly the only male she’s probably ever been in contact with aside from her father and her uncle.

she was in a fire at the jung estate when she was younger.  hot oil and a candle met, and we all know that’s never a good combination .. she was stuck in the fire for a little while, not because she couldn’t get out but because she was trying to help the personal servant girl she grew up with out of the fire.  it was too late though; the girl had already inhaled too much smoke and dahye had to save herself.

unfortunately, that left her with a scar.  in this time period, that’s almost like a death sentence for women who were expected to be pure beauties.  her father had a fit when he found out about it and instead of being thankful she was alive, scorned her because he’d never be able to marry her off now.  this also means he’d be stuck with her for the rest of his life, and he blamed it on her.

she thought she was brave for trying to help the girl out of the fire, and even thought that she was like the legendary phoenix.  but unfortunately, no one else saw it that way.  so dahye is constantly belittled by her father when he’s home, and honestly not really allowed to leave the estate.  

there are a lot of rumours about the daughter of general jung - namely that the fire made her horribly disfigured.  this isn’t the case; she has a scar on her arms from the burns which is true, but not so much that she’s ugly.  she’s actually quite pretty in the face, but because dahye constantly hears that she’s ugly, she doesn’t really believe it to be so.

the only person she’s generally close with is hyukun.  he comes over to read her poetry since she hasn’t really been allowed out of the estate ... until now.

she’s finally been released into the wild ( !!! ) to attend the lessons held by the head court lady.  she will struggle a bit with needlework because her nerves were damaged in the fire, however, she is good with tea ceremony and also floral arrangement.

she’s very sweet. her bio has written her off to be a bit aloof and haughty- and she is to a certain extent. like it’s kind of a facade that she relies on heavily. i wouldn’t really call her soft spoken...she’s very vocal of her opinions when she does have them. it’s just that she doesn’t care much to entertain people so she’s very quiet in that sense i guess. 

she’s got a soft spot for her younger siblings- especially her brother. she dotes on him like no other. like she’s a huge family girl. she adores all her siblings and would do damn near anything to ensure their happiness- but her younger brother is at the top of the list...like she says she doesn’t have favorites but don’t lie seora you have a favorite.

let’s be honest she just wants the best for everyone??? like she doesn’t really like seeing people unhappy... but she knows that there’s a limit to things she can do for others. and she will try to push that limit depending on who you are. 

seora is a bit,,,, two-faced. i guess it’s a bit more of resting bitch face?? like she’s mastered the “don’t fucking talk to me” look and she often relies on it to get her through social events. 

doesn’t have much of a sharp tongue tbh. she’s considerate of those she speaks to, but if it’s a matter she feels strongly on, she won’t hesitate to be a bit snarky. 

she doesn’t showcase her emotions in public because not only is she a princess, she doesn’t like to burden others with her own problems. she’s extremely secretive and it’s rare that she’ll ever express her emotions.

seora knows what she needs to do to get what she wants, and she doesn’t hesitate to follow through with those things. however, she does play fair. she’s a very hardworking person and doesn’t take the easy way out. 

she’s a bisexual lil gal. she loves without boundaries and she loves wholeheartedly.  this is honestly not much of a secret, kind of a just a really unspoken thing lol. she’s very affectionate with those she is close to so it’s just written off as seora being seora. kind of funny because her standards for men are extremely high, but any girl can look her way for more than one minute and she’ll be putty in their hands.

the idea of marriage doesn’t scare her. she knows that her mother would like to see her daughter be married off. seora is not one to really rely on someone else for her happiness and she’s extremely optimistic. even if she were placed in a marriage with a complete stranger, she believes she could find happiness. 

her interest lies in two things: the garden and literature. she’s like a little garden nome lol. she enjoys spending her time in the garden. she loves everything about the gardens. like the smell, the wind, the everything basically. in terms of literature, her main focus is poetry though. oh god- she loves a good poem. 

tldr; she’s a walking contradiction. her haughtiness is nothing but a facade. she’s sweet and caring with those she is close with. however she has her own secrets that she’ll never share.

a best friend? as i said, she’s a bit secretive in her emotions and things like that so i’d like for her to have that one person that she can rely on no matter what!!! 

a kind of lovelorn situation,,,, like give me the unrequited love. this would be preferably a female because having a female lover is something she’s like :(( about. mainly bc she’s scared to really voice out her attraction towards the same sex! 

perhaps a good ol’ enemy to get her all angry. though she does hold herself on a higher standard than others so the rivalry could be a little one-sided bc there’s a chance of her not really deeming your muse worthy to go against her. 

any royals....hmu. she’s caring towards the younger princes and princesses and likes to just dote on them so !!! most definitely look for seora if your muse needs a playful older sister figure.

helloooo, everyone! this is rosé bringing you yi hahn, the second in line to the throne currently, and a very stressed™ kid. he’s the youngest son of queen munjeong’s, nineteen, with a penchant for manipulation where he sees fit. more information about him under the cut, but if you’d like to plot, please come and like this post! also, his biography can be found here, and i have yet to come up with plots — and usually don’t have a plot page because i’d rather brainstorm.

i can also be found on discord ( rosé.#6236 ), where i’m on more often, and therefore, more easily reachable! i also have a twitter but i don’t use that one a lot. feel free to im me for username if you’re interested in that platform, though! without further ado, here is the sparknote for hahn.

as a child, he was plagued with night terrors and hallucinations, having imaginary friends and whatnot that everyone cannot see but him. the palace doctors told the king that he was simply haunted, believing in urban legends, and the king told everyone to remain quiet about this since he’s, well, a royal prince.

his mother was so worried, fussing over him a lot, asking so many questions that made him grow even wearier because he wasn’t exactly a social kid. he’d rather be left alone to his devices. it didn’t help that he learned speaking faster than children his age, so for the first three / four years of his life, he felt disturbed by all the fuss.

then his baby sister was born, and he was left alone more or less... well, at least a lot less disrupted in his activities. he had a wit beyond his age, maturity even when he barely socialized, so he liked fending for himself. he didn’t socialize much amidst his siblings unless he really had to. looked up to his parents, somehow, and filtered what he needed from his father. since he was a child, didn’t think his father was the wisest but he loved his father nonetheless. closer to his mother, though.

he didn’t open up to anyone until he was around seven, when the frequency of his night terrors had significantly lessened. he’d been scared of being labelled as weird, so he hadn’t been mingling. but his siblings opened up to him quickly, and so, in return he tried to do the same. closest to the siblings, and then his half-siblings next. then the yangbans. he didn’t socialize easily, still taciturn until age nine or so.

looked up to the crown prince, and the systems in general, although he detested the possibility of anyone at all having to be in arranged marriages. he loosened up then, working towards becoming a better royal prince, although in general he’d always been good at combat and literature. music, too. basically too good to be true of a prince with lack of socializing skills. as he grew older, however, he grew jaded from all the politics.

that’s when he learned to manipulate people into thinking that he was holding fine with all the conversations, blooming into what people thought would be a perfect prince. military: check. literacy: check. politics: check. entertainment: check. he encompassed everything that people wanted him to be, and for once, he forgot what it was like to be scared, until seven years ago.

the death of the crown prince etched a sense of engraved trauma in him, reawakening his nightmares. he wasn’t there, but he was haunted nevertheless. suddenly the kingdom felt like a burden again, and his older brother became the crown prince, putting the spotlight on his family in general. still, he managed to put up a façade, even when the following events after that, including the kidnapping and attempted assassinations on his sister, put a great deal of stress on him.

personality includes being manipulative for his own gains — he’s definitely not above evading the arranged marriage if needed be, pretending to be ill and whatnot. he’s not manipulating people just for the fun of it. he’s an expert at managing his superficial emotions, expressing so little like the tip of an iceberg. also very smart in both education and military, he comes off as cool-headed and very rational. not the most talkative person around, but many know that he can hold good conversations, entertaining people. he’s a walking paradox in general, hoping to become a part of the military... mainly an archer instead of serving the country in politics. particularly understands that many people want to dethrone his family, somewhat, especially his mother, and that’s why he’s grown wary even though he doesn’t show it to anyone.

Was a curious girl, and that curiosity was the reason behind her sneaking into her father’s studio to watch him read & start learning by herself

Asked too many questions, at first everyone found it annoying but when she started reading her questions became more interesting.

She had always been smart but reading opened a new doors on her mind and her father saw it too.

that’s her father was more than happy to let her get involved in small things only to see and learn but never comment with anyone about them 

BUT still had to learn how to be a proper lady because his father said so, and no one says no to Vice Supreme commander Bae.

well first of, she’s the middle child b/t two brothers

i’ll keep the details of their relationship vague in case anybody applies for those canons, but it’s not the worst & it’s not the best either

loads and loads of jealousy on her part w/ a sprinkle of bitterness (yum!)

doesn’t exactly wish she were a boy. she just wishes women were allowed formal education and the opportunity to work. her theme song is probably the schuyler sisters from hamilton

jiwoo just wanted to read, go to school, and follow in her dad’s footsteps to become a special advisor to the king smh

i mean who could blame her?? her dad oversees the royal library, who wouldn’t want a piece of that action???

a bit of a daddy’s girl, so when she was young she’d hang around her dad a lot and wore him down with her curiosity

her father never formally taught her anything, but he’d answer any questions she had and let her watch him work

that’s basically the crux of her ‘education’

once her older brother started school though, papa moon’s kinda like “yeah, nope, it was fun while it lasted, but i gotta nurture your brother’s education. plus you’re not supposed to be looking at my books anyway. alright? alright, peace.”

kinda forms a rift b/t them, but it’s totally one-sided lol 

so like any normal adolescent her age, jiwoo starts ~plotting~

uses her dad and her brothers to get in some learning on the side, but a lot subtler this time. they are totally unaware that she’s playing them all for fools

again, it’s not perfect but it’s jiwoo making the best of her situation

and now that she’s older, she’s also using what little influence she has where she can in court to get what she wants

strategy: make all the old dudes (mostly her dad) think her ideas are theirs

doesn’t really care for the spotlight and prefers to work in the shadows

her court etiquette is in tip-top shape

follows rules/the law for the most part, unless it’s something she disagrees with

that person who breaks the rules without technically breaking the rules. if there’s a loophole, she’ll find it 

ambitious, though maybe not for the reasons you think??? power is great and she certainly wouldn’t decline playing puppet w/ the royals, but it’s more of a side hobby

at the end of the day, she just wants to be able to get a proper education in peace. the country could go up in flames for all she cares lmao #priorities

hello beautiful people ! i’m so happy to be here with my soft baby girl, xie ruihan ! she’s the only daughter of the deputy xie of china and if there is one thing to take away from her character is that she is too kind-hearted for her own good and very much gullible. you can find her more in-depth profile here and some more tidbits below the cut ! but anyways, to get the ball rollin’ please smash that little like button and we’ll be diving into your dms in no time for plots and love 🥰💞

nineteen, born on january 1st ; only daughter of deputy xie and the youngest of three children ( with two older brothers )

she absolutely adores her brothers and was always sad when she saw them get to leave the estate while she was told to stay behind ( but like her background says: her brothers were the sun while she was the moon -- her parents definitely favored her brothers more than herself and while ruihan doesn’t mind much, it does hurt to see that her brothers were given luxuries ( aka freedom ) that she wasn’t allotted ) 

wouldn’t say she’s the favorite of the family but she is closer to her mother since she is the only person ruihan sees for more than twelve hours of her day

she was born in korea ( as her mother and father had already immigrated here due to her father’s role as deputy )

but shortly after she and her mother went back to china to be with her brothers only to return to korea semi-recently

they came to korea when she was 16 ( 1537 ) and her mother didn’t formally let her out of the house ( introduce to society ) until she was 17/18 ( aka winter festivities right before her 18th birthday )

you could say she’s the perfect daughter: quiet, picturesque in features and knows how to blend into the background without causing a fuss

she does all this and likes it, mind you

she’s been taught ( and locked up ) since forever to be a docile and perfect lady until her eighteenth birthday when her mother finally thought it was time to introduce her to society and the king’s court

so rumors about her were definitely kicked up prior to her ‘debut’, you could say, she was the ghost of the xie family -- everyone knew deputy xie had a daughter but not many saw her as much as one should 

this doesn’t mean she didn’t heavily beg the maids of the manor to sneak her out sometimes which died down the moment her mother gave her an inch of freedom

since then she’s been on her mother’s tails, following her everywhere with doe-eyes and curious gazes

she’s so innocent it hurts

she’s also very foolish and naive that she’ll literally believe anything anyone says because she doesn’t have much experience with people lying nor does she understand why people would lie

she’s nineteen with no life experience so we’re really here ready to Hurt her with the real world, prejudice and people who want to Corrupt / hurt her 

she isn’t literate in reading or writing but she is akin to the arts due to her mother’s teaching: she can play the zither, has learned ( but isn’t the best ) at performing yayue and has an affinity for botany due to watching and helping the maids tend to the flowers in their estate

so whenever someone would ask her, where did you learn that? her automatic answer would be “____ told me.” aka whatever someone tells her she takes it as the truth ( we sigh )

while growing up she spent a lot of time with the maids and her mother so knowing and listening to gossip ... you could say ... is like one of her favorite things

and the gossip usually was mostly about relationships and love and it’s made her fantasize about it despite her inexperience 

she’s extremely friendly and is one to just flourish when given attention but doesn’t necessarily seek it
