Hinata Shoyo- Impressing You

Being the third Manager of the Karasuno High Boys’ Volleyball team is definitely trickier than what Shimizu made it out. Just gather balls and care for the boys… okay

It’s a bit hard when those same members are continuously roaring at each other time the ball is tossed or passed

You found it rather adorable how much the team’s pair of golden boys argued with one another throughout each practice round; Kageyama and Hinata

They both have such incredible potential and you can practically feel their excitement over Volleyball coursing through their systems as they both go to work their ‘deadly serving combo’

Behind your back, you never got to see how Hinata watches your every movement, despite the fact he should be practicing with his team. His lovestruck dark brown eyes scanned over your every action as his body seemingly tilted like a magnet to you

He had a huge crush on you and he didn’t even realise why or how he did. He just knew that you drew his eyes and attention off his beloved sport and he couldn’t stop, even when Kageyama attempted to and succeeded in hitting some serious sense into him

Most days were the same with Hinata’s silent admiration of you and you didn’t realise the differences in Hinata’s behaviours, you just through he was as interested in a new manager as Tanaka and Nishinoya were so you just flashed a friendly smile at Hinata every time you caught him staring in awe at you, under the impression he noticed you

One late afternoon, Sawamura-san had gotten the rest of the Volleyball Club to begin packing up their belongs after a very intense practice session and the only two members on the court still was the infamous Hinata and Kageyama, passing serves and aiming spikes at one another to further hone their skills

Both Shimizu and Yachi decided it was best to leave you with handling the team so you could grow accustom to it, much like Shimizu did for Yachi. You truly didn’t mind their choices, you were thankful for their trust and reliance on you to fulfil their expectations as you wave the two girls goodbye before getting right back to gathering the lazily scattered water bottles

Once again. On the court’s side, Hinata’s eyes trialed off the ball and Kageyama and onto you, the cute friendly manager running around to fix up the outerskirts of the court, like he somehow sensed your presence

“Hinata… goddamn, are you listening?!” Kageyama barked at Hinata in a very annoyed tone, anger veins rising on his neck as he was truly losing patience with Hinata’s very distracted and clueless demeanour around you, that had been going on ever since you arrived and applied to help with the Volleyball Team. You’ve taken over Hinata’s head and he can’t help it but look at you

“Hey! Kageyama! Throw a shot at me! I want to show her my receives!” Hinata suddenly snaps back, turning around immediately as his cheeks still dusted with rosy red blush and his eyes sparkled with raw hope to impress you with his skills. He won’t be the cute little spiker if he shows off how good and big he is at Volleyball. He knew very well Kageyama wouldn’t just do it but he still attempted to anyway, his mind filled to the brim with all the scenarios of your reaction to his successful receive

And all of them really excited him

Kageyama growled under his breath with his brain racking with the conclusion to help his freival out… by making him look foolish. Volleyball firmly in his palm as he tosses it up, Hinata almost jumped for joy at his own freival’s helpful decision as he quickly prepares his stance and calls out your name without so much as turning around, his giant plan to impress and woo you coming together piece by piece

“Hey! Dokusha! Come watch this! Watch me nail this receive!”

Like your name was a attention trigger, you rose to a straight stance from leaning over the steel bench to put the half-empty water bottles in their casing to lock eyes on the two boys on the court. The pungent smell of teenager sweat would have droven any other girl away but you found yourself liking the stench, it symbolised how hard they worked for their cause

With your eyes on the little attractive show of further practice, Kageyama internally smirked at himself as he swung down his palm full-strength to send the ball flying, purposefully throwing Hinata off his rockers to further humiliate him. If he won’t let go of him constant ogling of you himself, Kageyama will drive away the want with one simple mistake

Your heart dropped in fear and your hands rose to your mouth in horror for Hinata as his balled-up, pressed-together hands perched out to receive the speeding ball quickly rose up to guard his face, forcing the ball to directly bounce off his ample skin, shooting down on a slight vertical angle with its velocity and strength following as the bounce off the floor just before Hinata’s feet, knocked him right in the jaw

Even when he guarded, he still got a nasty KO from a shot he knew had the freival elevated on purpose to humiliate him

Rushing over to Hinata as his body thumped heavy to the floor, Kageyama just stretched out his arm in a circle pattern with a hand on his shoulder without saying another word, whilst you dropped to your knees besides Hinata’s laid frame to check his chin and jaw, making sure it’s not broken

Thankfully, it was just a very bad knock-in from how intensely hard the ball would have been. His guard for the first time absorbed some of the impact so it would have broken his jaw

Your heart beat finally calmed down to a normal pace as you gently reached for Hinata’s clenched up fist to help him up the best you could. Your eyes locked on his face as Hinata’s mind raced with heartbreak and annoyance at Kageyama. He made sure Hinata looked like a idiot in front of you but you didn’t find him moronic, you cared for him

So… even when he was knocked down and set up to be embarrassed, you didn’t laugh at him. You rushed to him at your top speed and checked on him with frantic eyes and worry pouring out of your skin effortlessly. Hinata was no where near as humiliated as he would have been as he softly smiles at you in despite the extreme pain, drawing out a soft blush on your cheeks

“Thank you, Dokusha… but I am okay. Don’t worry, just a accident. I have them quite a lot”

(i just knowww he hates littering students with every fibre of his being. catches them in the act and reaches for his gun out of old habit LMAO) and there’s this nerdy little professor who always arrives at the uni first thing in the morning, without fail, and always gives toji a cheery little greeting when he does. wearing his cozy sweaters and vests and scarves and smiling all bright and sleepy. and for some reason he almost always takes his coffee breaks conveniently close to wherever toji is cleaning… so they can chat a bit….. even though toji usually just listens and grunts every now and then.

and at first toji feels kinda Threatened by this pretty boy bc ???? whyyyy is he interrupting my precious cleaning time. is he trying to supervise me? show off his fancy degrees??? …. reader has the fattest crush on him but toji genuinely doesn’t realize bc he’s wired to always mistrust others :// meanwhile reader is watching him clean internally going what the fuck what the fuckkk why is he wearing a compression shirt it’s literally fucking freezing??? is he teasing me???? does he know?????? they’re both losers actually. big romcom vibes

and ushi <333 our autistic king he’s so funny and cool and cute. karasuno vs shiratorizawa was my favorite match btw like the differences between them…. the different dynamics……… the crows vs the eagles 😵‍💫😵‍💫 hinata from the concrete .. vs ushi up on the mountain top ….. they make me insane. i think characters who are fully sincere in everything they do are SO charming and that’s literally ushi,… he loves volleyball and he’s never mean for the sake of being mean he just wakes up every day and chooses to speak Facts. he’s charming!!! that One scene where he borrows tendou’s shounen jump just to read the adverts…. 😭😭 he’s the funniest man alive . i loveeee him i want to kiss his forehead and tuck him into bed

and then oikawa obv …. little loserboy…….. he’s a hater and he’s pretty and he’s trying his best :(( hardworking characters . are also so so charming. he has so many great moments and banger lines… that whole thing abt talent vs instinct ……. he rlly is so lovely BUT he’s also just . Funny. shows up to matches just to hate on both sides . realest guy alive

AND FINALLY (needed to rant a little abt all these guys they mean the world to me 💔) kita…. + atsumu………. tsumu isn’t my Absolute Fave or anything but he’s cool and funny and sweet :3 AND HE’S A FOX I LOVE FOXIES……. (on that note i Still haven’t gotten to ur ask abt knight!sugu n brat!reader :cc I PROMISE I’M GETTING TO IT THOUGH WAIT FOR ME MY SWEET) also LOVE his last words to hinata in s4. how one day he’ll set for him. it’s such a fun twist to the kagehina dynamic where they vow to fight against each other but end up on the same side… meanwhile tsumu looks at his opponent and just goes I’M gonna set for that little guy one day. anyway enough abt tsumu we neeeed to talk abt kita bc he stole my heart…… he’s just such a good character to me he’s so charming (ik i’ve been saying that for Literally Everyone BUT IT’S TRUEEEE i know u’ll get it mickey)…… that scene where he cries :(((( bc he got a jersey :(((((( he’s such a sweetie AND LEAVING A CARE PACKAGE FOR TSUMU WHEN HE GOT SICK he’s just so caring?????? even after 2 years of marriage, kageyama still manages to amaze you with how much he's willing to put in effort into this relationship through his subtle ways of kissing your sleeping form before he goes for his morning run or rubbing your back when you're a mess of tears while watching your drama. despite his scarce presence at home, he's always in your heart and mind.

truth is, you're not the only one who thought so. kageyama is well known among his friends and colleagues as someone who never really care about anything else other than volleyball. so his action makes you feel so special, and you wished to return the favour by trying to be more involved in his active life as a sportsman. the first idea that came to mind was to join him for his daily workout in the gym.

there's a problem though. kageyama didnt consider your difference in stamina enough when he suggested you to do 30 sit up. while your heart was ready to burst after your eighth, he pouted in front of you, brows knitting with concentration for more ideas. 'maybe you'll do better with leg exercise. take a minute break, then we'll try that'.

you gave up on trying to sit up at all to his suggestion. your husband for sure cant be the sharpest knife in the drawer sometimes, but this is down right torture for you. 'baby', bending your elbows, you pushed yourself forward. 'you cant expect me to suddenly become super fit out of nowhere. one minute break is like one drop of milk for you. its not enough'. you poked at his sweaty shirt that hinted the lining of his muscles.

'then, you should have prepared yourself better before coming here', kagayama's frown deepened and you sighed. there was no ill intention in his statement, you've known him enough to understand that. but if he keeps up with his straightforwardness, you're worried that your future family will take it wrong. 'the baby will seriously hate you if your keep on being forceful like this, tobio'.

the shocked expression on his face was expected. but then, he looked around as if looking for something. you tilted your head. 'what baby are you talking about? small children arent allowed here', he looked so pitifully confused and you cant help but laughed. how dumb and cute could your favourite setter be. in the meantime, your husband tried to look around again in case he missed the child behind the workout tools.

'you know what? i think if i do enough sit up, then i might push the baby out', you smiled at him and waited for the realization to sink in. the excitement was like the counting down to new year. slowly, his eyes widen, jaw dropped. his mouth opened and closed as if he wanted to say something but nothing came out. this was not what he's expecting as an explanation.

'we're going to be parents, tobio. you and me', you guided his callous palm to your belly. there was no obvious physical sign yet, but just like when kageyama touches a ball to set it, he knew something amazing will happen with the presence of a new life that you've created together. as he nodded to your statement, he had the happiest smile on his face.

eventually, you workout ended there and your husband guide you back home, hand never letting go of yours. kegayama was clearly still trying to wrap his mind around the idea of his family expanding, and you thought of talking more about it when he's more prepared. so the walk home was comfortably silent. suddenly, your movement came to an abrupt stop because of your husband.

'should we go and grab some milk for the baby? we can get your favourite ice cream too. the baby might like it'. kageyama looked so serious that you had to hold back from laughing and hurting his feelings again. so you pretended to think, 'hm, the baby's not here yet for the milk. but we should totally get the ice cream'. it defeated the purpose of your pathetic workout attempt, but who are you to say no to his pampering.

you were catching your breath on one of the benches along the riverbank. it was your last stopping point for your morning run with your husband before you two walk the remaining distance home. eyes closed, you focused on the gentle breeze that caressed your hot skin and the quiet sleeping neighbourhood around you. just yesterday, you're among them too.

'here, drink this', your eyes opened to the sound of tsukishima's voice, who presented a water bottle he had gotten from the nearby vending machine to you. his honey eyes and golden hair reminded you a lot of the sun that's shyly making its entrance in the pinkish blue sky above. 'thank you. what about you?', your husband took a seat beside you as you took a sip.

tsukishima slid his arm on the backrest behind your back as he exhaled a vapourous breath. 'i'll have mine later at home. that one's for you'. you nodded and drank up a bit more. your husband eyes were on you, it made you feel a little uneasy, as if he's expecting a confrontation, which to be fair, you did owe him. you just couldnt find the right time to do so.

when you asked tsukishima if you could join him for his run this morning, he just looked at you for awhile and shrugged. along the run, he kept to himself too, making small talk only from time to time to make sure if you're keeping up fine with his pace. after about 30 minutes of running, he finally cant hold the question in anymore, 'why exactly did you come along with me this morning?'.

your eyes met his, a part of him that helps you read his thought and emotion behind his snarky words. in his eyes, you saw his overflowing love for the woman he's married to. but there's also a mixture of anxiety and fear towards the secret you're hiding from him. you instantly felt bad for holding back the news for too long.

in the quiet morning, you heard your heart beating faster despite the rest you got. 'kei', you began, taking his hands in your. upon feeling your hands trembling ever so slightly, he squeezed them gently, suppressing his own fear. 'we never really talked about this before, so i hope you'll be able to accept what i'm going to say'.

tsukishima was consciously breathing now, afraid that he'll hyperventilate and scared you. you proceeded when he signaled you to. 'i want my body to be healthier because i'm with a child'. the moment you spilled the truth, his world halted. it echoed in your husband's mind, down to his heart. the next thing he knew, a drop of tear had trickled down his cheek.

'you are?' the only response you managed to get came in a whisper, to which you nodded in confirmation, before he cupped your cheeks and pressed his lips on yours. it took you a few seconds to catch up with what's going on before returning the kiss yourself as you wiped away his tears with your thumb, your own palm cradled his cheek.

it was a soft kiss, yet a very long one that when you pulled away, you're panting from the lack of air. tsukishima touched his forehead with yours and frowned, 'gosh, dont scare me like that! i thought something happened to you'. you laughed to that. its not everyday that your husband showed his emotion to anyone, so its quite an amusement for you when he did.

'i'm sorry. i'm afraid that you wouldnt want the baby, with your busy schedule and all'. you apologized and fiddled with his long fingers, your way of reminding yourself of his presence to stay grounded. 'dont be silly. my happier days are coming. i'll take care of the both of you, so-', he kissed you with so much love you're melthing, 'thank you. and dont hide anything from me again'.

Bokuto would definitely win hands down. I follow the hc that Bokuto isn't really all that ticklish accept in a few places, but it's the exact opposite with Kuroo. This dude is sensitive as heck and Bokuto is a super scary ler so he'd definitely have him screaming in a matter of seconds. What makes the whole thing funnier is that despite his sensitivity, Kuroo instigates their tickle fights just as often as Bokuto does despite already knowing full and well that he doesn't stand a chance.
