What is the worst case of transformative fandom modifying view on canon you ever witnessed ?

Maybe not the worst, but the weirdest is definetely the Vana'Ice fandom.

Vana'Ice is a fan vocaloid group imitating visual kei aesthetic created by Nastu SCLP using Kaito, Gakupo and Len with them playing the role of a group of 3 musician : Kyte, Gackt and Len. Like all vocaloid song each one of it tells a story so it's basically the story of Len, Gackt and Kyte's carrer with each song dealing a different story. In most of those song, Len plays the role of a girl character in a love triangle.

Well, the thing is that it developped in the same time as stuff like Evilious chronicles so some fans believed that there was an "Imitation black saga" based on the first song made by SCLP for Vana'ICE, Imitation black and from there that all songs she produced was part of this "saga" with the fans trying to identify the "timeline but in reality it was just fan making things up when those songs have 0 in common. The only songs linked together are Imitation Black and Haitoku no Kioku- the Lost memory. Some others are linked to one another but they aren't ALL linked together to tell one big story, they are just all different story having for only common point being sung by Kaito, Gakupo and Len using stage name.

Yet fans still insist that there is a "Imitation black saga" and some vocaloid fan wiki still have those info which are wrong updated.

it’s october first and i’m sure everyone’s already picked their inktober prompts, but i wanted to share the one i’ve put together (for myself) for vanan’ice in case anyone wants to try it out.

it’s nothing fancy, but i’d be ecstatic if even a few people participate for at least one of the days! i tried to pick and randomise songs from all the albums, excluding diamond lily and innocent ash, since they’re pretty easy to grab references from at this point. however, if you need a reference for any of the songs listed, feel free to send me a message (off anonymous, please) and i’ll be glad to help.
