Exploring Lebert Fitness Parallettes
A utility bench is an important tool for strength training as it provides stability and versatility for a wide range of exercises. With adjustable settings, it allows for targeted workouts for various muscle groups, making it an essential addition to any home or commercial gym setup.

Thanks everybody! The general consensus seems to be yes, quilting can absolutely be a workout.  Also, I forgot two things when I made this post: A. Both my parents build and maintain muscle extremely easily, so I probably have at least a bit of a genetic predisposition to it  B. The martial arts (and dance rehearsals for musicals) that I did were all well before my medical issues got bad enough to be even sort of diagnosed, which means they were years before I was put on my current meds. The steroids I’m on aren’t the “build muscle” kind of steroids (I’m on a mineralocorticoid because I am sodium georg) but having a mostly-functional endocrine system like...probably helps with the whole building muscle thing???
Hey y’all! Weird question for the quilters out there. Do you find quilting is making you stronger? Like, physically stronger, not metaphorically or emotionally.
I’ve been sewing for going on four years now, and I’d made a few quilts the first few years, but I only started quilting regularly like a year ago and it’s making me kinda buff???? I don’t understand how! I was not this muscular when I was doing martial arts, and the martial art I did was pretty darn physically intense. I don’t understand how this is happening, my grandma was a quilter and I know she must’ve been doing something different because there is no way she could physically do some of the things I do when quilting, like she couldn’t crawl around on the floor to lay out the design, she couldn’t exert the amount of force I do on the quilting ruler to keep it in place, but I can’t figure out how to do it differently

how did you learn anatomy? like i know practice is a big factor but like...any sites for good references? any books? did you learn in school? any tips/tricks that helped you improve?
I never studied anatomy properly via any specific resource or book so unfortunately can't give you pointers there
What I feel helped me the most was working on my observation power rather than just trying to draw what I see or draw things over and over again. Looking at body structures not just statically but in motion, moving my own body to understand how it works, etc, so that when I'm drawing a human I'm more aware of bones, muscles, joints, how things connect, what gives them volume and so on. And I gained this sort of "skill" mostly from having practiced and watched a lot of sports, gymnastics in particular as I was growing up. I used to draw a lot of extreme poses just because it was fun, and see how people got to them, what joints and muscles were at play, how they balanced, etc.

Acrobatics and handbalancing routines were basically all I drew in middle school and highschool haha. It wasn't perfect anatomy practice and I'm still having to actively relearn things to this day (also didn't necessarily help with facial anatomy), but it was loads of fun c: not just drawing from photographs but watching the routines to see why these poses look the way they look.
And I guess over time I just worked on the "why does it look like this?" rather than the "what does it look like?". The thing that helped me the most with facial anatomy for instance was just really understanding the building blocks of the skull and how muscles and skin sit on it, same with hands, feet, ears, etc. I hardly ever look at references that aren't just skinless medical drawings

thanks for making ur polls i am more invested in them than the actual elections in my coutry at least here are some deserved wins.. anyway vote esb for best star wars movie for the biggest plot twist in history, epic handbalancing and the best yoda quotes
Remember when the Tumblr Sexyman Poll killed Queen Elizabeth II? Get ready for jessequinnfirstofhername's Star Wars polls to be featured on CNN for influencing election results.
I would totally do a Tumblr Sexyman Poll, because they look hilarious, but I don't want to just blatantly steal the idea. Also I don't know enough about most Tumblr Sexymen to really engage with it.
Anyway, vote Rogue One! ;)

hi! i was initially interested in your main blog for language related stuff, i've seen you post about stuff like contortionism and stilt walking before, and all of that combined made you seem like the coolest person ever. that said, do you know of any kind of fitnessy blogs that are more like yours and/or ones that are more focused on those kinds of cool activities (or other ones like bouldering or dance for example)? i would like to follow more blogs like this one, but if i search for stuff about health or fitness, that is absolutely not what i find, lol.
i hope you have a great day! :D
Oh man I do miss being a cool person who does all that stuff D: Makes me so sad how boring I've had to become, I really do wish I had the opportunity to do aerial/pole/circus here.
I'm afraid I don't know any other blogs like that. A while ago there was a small community of us but mostly people post stuff like that on instagram and tiktok and more video-focused/algorithm-centric social media afaik. Tumblr's not really a good platform for performance artists. You do get occasional fitblrs who do pole or aerial but that tends to not be what their blogs centre on. If you want tags to search then I'd try stuff like aerialist, circus, circus arts, flow arts, aerial hoop, aerial silks, lyra, trapeze, acro, handbalancing.
Anyway sorry I can't be of much help! Hope you find what you're looking for

Got my first second of a true one armed balance in a croc this weekend! Now to start fighting to make it longer!
I need to be more patient because I could have held it longer if I didn’t move so quickly to pull the arm up. But I’m there! It’s so exciting to finally feel the lightness of the balance point

What do you do in the circus???
so! every year i've been in it, i've always done unicycle, diabolo, and teeterboard. usually i'll also do another act, but those are my core three.
HOWEVER none of those work with my schedule this year, so this circus season i'm doing flex (a combination of pyramid acrobatics, tumbling, and contortion), risley duo (partner ground acrobatics), juggling, and handbalancing. i MIGHT be doing an aerial act or two, but i don't know yet.
