You didn't say for what ship, so I'll just do the ones I have in the post:

Bakudeku: Katsuki will jump onto the bed to wake Izuku up after he get out of the shower in the morning if Izuku isn't awake. Not cutes-y either, total wrestle move style, but then he will kiss all over Izuku's face after.

Rinharu: Gosh, they are such a new ship to me, I don't actually have headcanons for them? Something simple? Rin is the big spoon, but he lays farther down along the bed so he can press his face between Haru's shoulder blades. Most nights Haru ends up turned around when they wake up so Rin's face is pressed to his chest. He always bends down and kisses the top of his head, even though it's an awkward angle.

Andreil: Hands down my favorite headcanon for them is that Andrew puts batshit crazy things on their grocery list, and Neil will always hunt them down and get them, even if it takes awhile, he will find it.

Ronsey: I wrote a whole ass fic about it, but Ronan turning his parents old room into a room for Gansey at the Barn's that looks as much like Monmouth as he can get it. Bed in the middle, books everywhere, map on the wall, display case for random things. The only thing I forgot to include in the fic that I think of now is mini Henrietta, which would go on top of the book cases.

it feels like every single important person has done reprehensible things, and if you boycott everything from everyone bad, you won't be able to interact with a lot of the things you love, or have any fun. what do you think about this?

and this is probs bait

but idc and we kinda tackled this in my science and society class and also i took ethics as a required philosophy class

so i'm a biology major and the way i see this is kinda like fertiliser, polio vaccines, and dams. which is weird but hear me out.

so modern fertiliser is possible thanks to the man, the myth, the nazi victim frantz haber. so frantz haber was this brilliant jewish chemist who invented what we call the haber-bosch process which is a way to do nitrogen fixation without relying on bacteria. this was huge because it meant that people could reliably add nitrogen to their fields which increased yields around the world to the point where, today, about two-thirds of the world's agriculture relies on the haber-bosch process. the problem here is that the process was invented for chemical warfare which is why frantz haber is known as the father of chemical warfare.

and the second thing is polio but more specifically the polio vaccine. so jonas salk was the dude who effectively eradicated polio with his vaccine. he did this by testing on hela cells, the immortal cell line. now hela cells come from a woman named henrietta lacks (hence hela) and her unusually aggressive cervical cancer cells. the problem with hela cells is that they were taken without henrietta lacks' permission and are now part of a multi-million dollar industry. there was a clear violation of modern day consent laws and morals but, at the time, it was expected. the problem arises with the fact that hela cells, unlike most other kinds of sample cells, are immortal and so they can be easily cultivated and used over and over again. undoubtedly without hela cells, modern medicine would not be where it is today.

finally we have dams. so dams are bad [insert citation]. they're bad for the environment because they ultimately change ecosystem dynamics and are bad because they're usually built by encroaching on native land. but here's the thing, lots and lots of people rely on dams for affordable water and electricity. the keyword here is affordable. because we don't actually need dams, we have modern waste treatment plants and desalinisation facilities which are both much, much better than dams. the problem is that if we only rely on them, then prices spike and a lot of people can't afford a spike in price.

so where am i going with this? you asked for my thoughts on boycotts and it probably means something like a piece of problematic media but you spoke generally so that's where i'm going. and, generally speaking, its a weird issue. the world is full of things that are problematic and/or are made by problematic people. you can argue that everyone is problematic. and if we boycott everything we won't be able to live. so yes we can boycott problematic media and problematic things but i think, more than that, what's needed is something akin to systemic change and understanding that some things are inherently problematic. i'm not saying forgive everyone and forget about it. what i'm saying is that problematic things are always going to be a part of humanity and what we, as a society, can do is know and understand this and create long lasting systemic reforms that help people. the main issue with the haber-bosch process is that it was intended for warfare but the exact same process is used for agriculture to save lives. the main problem with hela cells and the medicine it spawned is that it was done without ethics in mind and so we created mandatory ethical guidelines to prevent this from happening again. and the dam is issue is that people don't have enough money for the better alternative. it's about learning from what's problematic and creating long lasting systemic change from it.

i'm going to end this with three quotes from, what i've seen people call, problematic media (and they probs are):

PT SOLID GOLD BALI | WHO: Dunia Dapat Mulai Bermimpi Covid-19 Berakhir

PT SOLID GOLD BALI – Pada Jumat (4/12/2020), Direktur Jenderal Badan Kesehatan Dunia (World Health Organization/ WHO) mengumumkan bahwa hasil positif dari uji coba vaksin virus corona membuat dunia dapat mulai bermimpi tentang berakhirnya pandemi.

Namun, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus mengatakan negara-negara kaya dan berkuasa tidak boleh menginjak-injak orang miskin dan terpinggirkan dalam kepanikan untuk memperoleh vaksin.

Associated Press, Sabtu (5/12/2020), melaporkan dalam pidatonya di sesi tingkat tinggi pertama Majelis Umum PBB tentang pandemi, Tedros memperingatkan bahwa sementara virus dapat dihentikan, tetapi “jalan di depan tetap berbahaya.”

Ia menuturkan pandemi telah menunjukkan umat manusia pada hal “yang terbaik dan terburuk.” Merujuk pada peningkatan infeksi dan kematian saat ini, Tedros mengatakan tanpa menyebut negara mana pun bahwa “di mana sains tenggelam oleh teori konspirasi, di mana solidaritas dirusak oleh perpecahan, di mana pengorbanan diganti dengan kepentingan pribadi, maka virus tumbuh subur, virus menyebar.”

Dia memperingatkan dalam pidato virtual pada pertemuan tingkat tinggi bahwa vaksin “tidak akan mengatasi kerentanan yang terletak pada akarnya”, yaitu kemiskinan, kelaparan, ketidaksetaraan dan perubahan iklim, yang menurutnya harus ditangani setelah pandemi berakhir.

Dia mengatakan program akselerator akses peralatan Covid-19 (ACT-Accelerator) WHO yang mengembangkan dan mendistribusikan vaksin secara adil “berada dalam bahaya menjadi tidak lebih dari isyarat yang mulia” tanpa dana baru yang besar.

Dia mengatakan dana sebesar US$ 4,3 miliar (Rp 61 triliun) dibutuhkan segera untuk pengadaan vaksin massal dan pengiriman vaksin. Selain itu juga dibutuhkan US$ 23,9 miliar (Rp 339 triliun) untuk 2021. Jumlah itu, kata Tedros, kurang dari setengah dari satu persen paket stimulus senilai US$ 11 triliun (Rp 156 kuadriliun) yang diumumkan sejauh ini oleh kelompok G-20, kumpulan negara-negara terkaya di dunia.

Sekretaris Jenderal PBB Antonio Guterres mengajukan permohonan serupa untuk pendanaan ACT-Accelerator pada pembukaan sesi Sidang Umum pada hari Kamis (3/12/2020).

Juru bicara PBB Stephane Dujarric mengatakan pada hari Jumat (4/12/2020) bahwa Guterres frustrasi dan ingin melihat “tingkat investasi yang jauh lebih tinggi oleh negara-negara yang dapat melakukannya.”

Henrietta Fore, kepala badan PBB untuk anak-anak UNICEF, mengatakan, “Ketika negara-negara miskin mulai mencoba membeli vaksin,” tidak ada yang tersedia atau harganya terlalu tinggi. Menurut Fore, UNICEF biasanya mendistribusikan 2 miliar dosis vaksin setahun, dan begitu bisa mendapatkan vaksin Covid-19, “Kami akan melipatgandakannya tahun depan, jadi kita harus siap.”

The African origin of heroes, super and otherwise

Historically, heroes – super-powered or not – come in all shapes and sizes. But what about colors? If we allow your standard history book and Hollywood small and silver screen productions to answer that question, the overall answer would be that the color is only one – white. Black heroes, it seems, do not exist.

But nothing could be further from the truth, especially for the sharp-witted student of world history or even popular culture. For such a person – though not without long-lived hard work and patience, intense study and research, and steel-spined dedication – would discover that throughout time immemorial, the Black hero – real and imagined – repeatedly appears and impacts culture as well as individuals who either welcome or disregard his or her heroic appearance, words and/or deeds.

Speaking of words, some scholars now agree that the very word “hero” comes from an African (Black) word and an African god. The 19th century scholar, Gerald Massey, states that the word “hero” comes from the Egyptian, “ma haru,” meaning “the typical warrior” or the “true hero.” Whereas another scholar states that the word “hero” is derived from the Latin name of a Greek word for the African god, Heru or Hor, who most Egyptologists call “Horus the hawk, the avenger.”

Interestingly enough, the hawk is an ancient and sacred bird of Africa, particularly Ethiopia, and what the late but legendary African world history scholar, Dr. Chancellor Williams, calls “Ethiopia’s oldest daughter, Egypt.”

Furthermore, based on the testimony of the Greek historian, Herodotus – often dubbed the “father of history” – and other scholars past and present, the very names – if not the very same gods, Greek then Roman, under different names – of the gods from Greek and Roman mythology came from, or were heavily influenced by, the ancient Egyptian and African mythology which predated them.

Those African-derived Greco-Roman gods would consequently serve as the backbone of today’s multi-billion dollar superhero comic book and movie industry.

Obatala, God of Yoroba mythology.But the unmatched impact of Black heroes, real and fictional, would not stop in Greek and Roman mythology or even in Western society today. It would encompass both Asia and the Far East too. Whereas there is little, if any, hardcore evidence that King Arthur truly lived, in the Asian country of Saudi Arabia, there is evidence that over 1,500 years ago, there lived a courageous, 6th century, Black or Afro-Arabic warrior-poet and lover named Antar.

History has dubbed him the “father of knighthood … [and] chivalry” and “the king of heroes.” Greatly admired by the founder and prophet of Islam, Muhammad, he is still widely celebrated for his poetry and warrior spirit throughout the Arab world today.

Those African-derived Greco-Roman gods would consequently serve as the backbone of today’s multi-billion dollar superhero comic book and movie industry.

Then, in the Far East – China, specifically – during the 9th century, there lived a writer named Pei Xing. Although there is virtually no proof that he was Black, during the Tang Dynasty of said century he wrote what some have called “China’s first martial arts short story,” entitled “Kunlun Nu.” It means the “Negrito,” “little Negro” or “little Black” slave and its hero is an enslaved Black man who can fly and has incomparable martial arts skills – just as in the traditional Chinese martial arts films of the 1960s and ‘70s, if not in earlier and even in modern-day movies.

Then there’s Japan, where this ancient but little-known proverb was found: “For a samurai [warrior] to be brave, he must have a bit of Black blood.” Another version says: “For a samurai to be brave, he must have half Black blood,” meaning one of his parents must be Black.

We also find in Japan a noted Black warrior who historians have called “the paragon of military virtue,” a Japanese general and the first person to bear the Japanese title of sei-i tai shogun – meaning “barbarian-subduing generalissimo.” His name was Sakanouye Tammamura Maro, sometimes spelled Sakanouye No Tamuramaro.

Furthermore, let’s not forget about the only “thoroughly documented amazons in world history,” the women warriors of Dahomey, who were West African women often serving as the king’s bodyguards and who, unlike the Grecian “amazons” and the comic book “amazon,” Wonder Woman, truly lived.

And what about the beautiful, fictional or factual, Black warrior-queen, Califia – after whom the state of California is said to be named; or Nzinga, a lioness-hearted Angolan warrior-queen, who fought against the Portuguese for decades to keep them from enslaving her people? Nzinga lived. Xena, the warrior-princess, did not.

Nor let us ignore the Black steel-driving man, John Henry, who not only – according to legend – beat a steam-driving machine with his hammer in his hand, but – according to one scholar – serves as the model for both Superman and Captain America, who is called the “first avenger” in the trailer for the movie to be released July 22.

Then there’s the Black Frenchman, Alexandre Dumas père, who wrote both “The Three Musketeers” and “The Count of Monte Cristo,” which both influenced fictional characters such as Mickey Spillane’s private eye, Mike Hammer, Ian Fleming’s super spy, James Bond, and characters created by the cowboy novelist, Zane Grey.

But what about the gun-slinging, outlaw-catching – catching between 3,000 and 4,000 outlaws – greatly feared, highly respected, often disguised, Black deputy marshal – serving for over 30 years – Bass Reeves? Says one scholar, Reeves may have served as the model for both the Lone Ranger and the Rooster Cogburn characters in the novel and movie, “True Grit.”
