SunClan Timeline- Year 2

Moon 12- Newleaf:

Cloudyplume chases a kittypet off clan territory

Pouncepetal spends more time with Goosekit, while Daisyflood overhears Branchkit complaining about her

Whorlfern and Daisyflood successfully fight a fox for more deer meat

Mudstar and Cloudyplume heckle BiteClan at the Gathering

Daisyflood separately talks to both Goldentooth and Mudstar about being deputy one day, with a curious Juncokit chiming in for the second conversation

Mudstar recovers from his stomachache and Pouncepetal’s dislocated joint heals

Whorlfern trusts Mushroomkit with [truth about someone’s parentage]

Juncokit and Mushroomkit got into a huge fight about their parentages; Goosekit interrupts- much to Juncokit’s annoyance- and accuses Mushroomkit of lying about something, which she denies

The kits are forced to make up by the queens, and Mushroomkit is jealous of how Juncokit seems to be getting all the attention

Cloudyplume catches whitecough, and Pouncepetal falls ill with greencough soon after

Mudstar and Goldentooth drive off a dog on SunClan territory

Moon 13- Newleaf:

Rustbloom recovers from yellowcough

A moon old kit named Little One is found abandoned on Clan territory, having been apparently left behind by their kittypet mother, and is renamed Littekit

Murkyshade’s sprain heals

Branchkit, Mushroomkit, and Gardenkit are apprenticed to Mudstar, Daisyflood, and Goldentooth; Comfreydash is furious and dismayed at being blatantly passed over

Pouncepetal recovers from his bout of greencough

Murkyshade tries to talk to Nectarsnout about Pebblekit being a mediator apprentice, but Nectarsnout is uncertain of him training his own kit

Rainsun’s leg injury heals as well

Hazefall and Comfreydash run into Veilfern at the border, the malkin actively in labour and panicking- despite the healers’ best efforts, Veilfern dies shortly after kitting, and the healers take the newborn Adderkit, Freezekit, and Buzzardkit to SunClan

On their first group training session, Branchpaw asks to practice climbing, but the branch cracks beneath them and they fall, injuring a paw

Moon 14- Newleaf:

Cloudyplume recovers from whitecough

Murkyshade travels to WhiskerClan to resolve some herb-gathering disputes, and the meeting goes better than expected; Murkyshade privately thinks Mudstar should be more prudent about clan relations

Branchpaw heals from their bruising

Rustbloom announces she is expecting kits

Mudstar, Cloudyplume, and Branchpaw go on a border patrol and hear a kittypet screaming for their twoleg to come back; by the time they reach the thunderpath, the cat is already dead, having been crushed trying to run after their owner

Whorlfern and Rustbloom go hunting together and come across a strange scent; investigating the burrow it led to, they are attacked by a wolverine, Rustbloom caught in its claws before Whorlfern races back to save her

Buzzardkit is discovered to be blind

Moon 15- Greenleaf:

Rosemarykit gifts Pouncepetal some catmint leaves, and he decides to wear them in his pelt

Juncokit and Goosekit are apprenticed to Comfreydash and Rainsun

Whorlfern reveals she is expecting a second litter

Mushroompaw catches a cold and has a running nose

Rustbloom moves to the nursery

While taking their apprentices to gather herbs, Comfreydash and Rainsun feel a spiritual presence that vanishes as quickly as it appears

Hazefall comforts Whorlfern over her fears about StarClan

Moon 1- Newleaf:

Daisypaw is named Daisyflood for her determination

Goldentooth and Mudstar fight a small dog on patrol

Nectarsnout encourages Mudstar and Rainsun to talk to each other

Moon 2- Newleaf:

Nectarsnout travels to FinchClan and successfully resolves some personal disputes there

A border patrol led by Mudstar encounter a JuniperClan patrol, the two patrols respectfully marking borders with no issues

Nectarsnout continues to encourage the leader and deputy to work together more closely

Moon 3- Greenleaf:

several cats begin growing closer- Pouncepetal and Nectarsnout have been spending more time together, while Cloudyplume, Scrungle, Mudstar, and Rainsun all seem to be more interested in each other in various combinations

Meanwhile, Goldentooth has been getting on everyone’s nerves, and Daisyflood and Pouncepetal sneak out of camp on a dare, though Cloudyplume has been spending less and less time in camp recently

Sleetfeather, Goldentooth, and Daisyflood encounter a JuniperClan patrol, but Sleetfeather is quick to break the awkward atmosphere with a friendly greeting and easy conversation

While on a border patrol, Mudstar, Rainsun, and Cloudyplume discover a trespassing rogue and Mudstar and Cloudyplume drive them off

Nectarsnout teases Cloudyplume about her newfound closeness with Mudstar

Moon 4- Greenleaf:

Goldentooth is injured by the badger previously found on Clan territory while on patrol with Mudstar and Daisyflood

Rainsun, Sleetfeather, and Cloudyplume have a good border patrol, chatting with FinchClan cats at the border

The Clan generally becomes more solidified as a group, bonding as a whole

Sleetfeather and Daisyflood encounter a large dog on patrol, Sleetwhisker almost collapsing from exhaustion leading the dog away from SunClan territory

The clan meets a loner named Speedwell with some healing skill, but she declines to join SunClan

At Mudstar’s sudden insistence, Scrungle is renamed to Comfreydash by StarClan

Moon 8- Leaffall:

The rogue group consolidates itself, declaring themselves as BiteClan, actively recruiting other cats into their clan to quickly grow their ranks

Mudstar changes tactics- instead of aggression and preparing for war on the cusp of leafbare, SunClan instead follows suit, opening their borders to loners and kittypets who could make the clan stronger

Sleetfeather, Cloudyplume, and Daisyflood convince a kittypet named Simba to join SunClan, who is given the name Murkyshade

Moon 9- Leafbare:

As leafbare begins to sit in, Hazefall and Comfreydash hear odd sounds on the wind while refreshing their herb supplies; they discover a dying cat, Tadpoleshade, who entrusts the healers with his newborn kits Juncokit and Goosekit before passing

Rainsun recovers from her sprain

Sleetfeather retires to the elder’s den

While hunting together, Cloudyplume dares Mudstar to hunt right by the Twoleg dens, but she is seen and captured; luckily, Mudstar figures out a way to free her and the two return to SunClan the next day, shaken but safe

Goldentooth and Murkyshade recruit a kittypet and her kits to join SunClan- they are named Whorlfern, with kits Branchkit, Mushroomkit, and Gardenkit, and are welcomed into the Clan

Rainsun and Daisyflood report on BiteClan’s kindness after encountering a group of cats at the border

Moon 10- Leafbare:

Cloudyplume and Mudstar become mates!

Gardenkit is seen trying to sort grass the way the healers sort herbs

Murkyshade tries too hard to befriend Whorlfern, who is getting sick of the attention

Pouncepetal slips from a rock and dislocates his shoulder

Goldentooth develops a stomachache

Branchkit keeps waking up with a headache, but has been trying to ignore the nagging pain

The clan pays special attention to the sudden influx of kits: in particular, Nectarsnout has been keeping an eye on Juncokit, while Goldentooth bonds with Gardenkit and Daisyflood with Goosekit

Meanwhile, Comfreydash ignores Branchkit’s complaints of a headache, entirely focused on Gardenkit

Several cats continue to quietly clash- especially Daisyflood and Rainsun with Goldentooth

Rainsun and Cloudyplume go hunting together, Rainsun eating the prey she’d caught while on patrol, several cats suspicious of her returning with empty paws and a full belly

Mudstar, Goldentooth, and Daisyflood find a kittypet named Zikomo willing to join the Clan; she is renamed to Rustbloom

Moon 11- Leafbare:

Gardenkit and Goosekit pester the older cats to play with them

Mudstar calls a clan meeting, but forgets what he was going to say

Goldentooth thinks about killing Mudstar and staging it as an accident

Murkyshade has been coming and going more often recently, and sprains a muscle on one of his walks; Rainsun is suspicious

Rainsun’s leg injury acts up again, and spending time in the healer’s den with Murkyshade gives her the opportunity to ask where he’s been going, though he is extremely reticent to answer and dodges the question, worrying her further

Daisyflood wonders how Sleetfeather is doing, and the two spend more time together this moon

Murkyshade returns to camp one day with three newborn kits named Heronkit, Rosemarykit, and Pebblekit, refusing to discuss where they’re from, only that they are his kits and he’s keeping them

With several kits approaching apprentice age, a vague tenseness has invaded the camp, with the interested potential mentors practically competing to impress both the kits and Mudstar in hopes of securing their kit of choice as their future apprentice

Comfreydash once again butts heads with Goldentooth, this time over Gardenkit, though Comfreydash grows rather fond of Mushroomkit in the process, as he spends much of his time with Whorlfern’s litter, though he continues to mostly ignore Branchkit

Branchkit, meanwhile, is worried they won’t do a good enough job as an apprentice and that they’ll be kicked out the clan, especially with all the attention Gardenkit is getting

Pouncepetal eavesdrops on the kits, eager to see what they think of their potential mentors

Rustbloom catches yellowcough and is isolated in camp

On patrol, Mudstar and Goldentooth chase a fox away from a deer carcass, and Goldentooth realizes how daunting replacing Mudstar might actually be- he is afraid of nothing and seemingly undefeatable

Mudstar comes down with a stomachache

The Long Post (the really rushed summary post):

((This is just gonna be a post instead of a whole page, so it can be accessed from mobile.

The stuff going down in Jaggedstar’s clan:

Shit starts with Hazefall and Jaggedthorn, plotting to take power in their clan. They decide that since Jaggedthorn currently has the better reputation within the clan, he's going to be the one to grapple for deputyship under the current leader, an older tom called Icestar, and as soon as he gets the position and offs Icestar, he'll name Hazefall his deputy. Hazefall also knows that she'll have an easier time disposing of her brother than she will Icestar, mostly because she could more easily justify it as "For the good of the clan". Over a few moons, Jaggedthorn cozies up to Icestar (and also low-key starts flirting with a she-cat from a rival clan, because he's just an asshole who likes leading cats on) and Hazefall starts to figure out how to ice the current deputy. Eventually, she just. Does it while on a small hunting patrol somewhere near Twolegplace, so she can blame it on loners who don't have the ability to defend themselves from accusations at gatherings.

Jaggedthorn is made the new deputy, and he and Hazefall decide to use the cat he's been leading on to slowly bait their clans into war, providing a solid cover-up for Murder™. Their plan slowly unfolds, and Jaggedthorn uses the fight to murder Icestar without his clanmates catching onto it. The she-cat he was leading on (rival clan leader's daughter) had ended up pregnant by Jaggedthorn, and is exiled after her clanmates (who've probably lost a good number of their loved ones because of this nonsense) figure out that she gave up Vital Information to another clan. She goes to Jaggedstar, who refuses to take her in. She leaves the territories in bitterness.

Jaggedstar throws his clan into needless conflict with Twolegplace cats and other clans because he's maintaing the story that their clanmates were killed by outside forces. Hazefall fucking screams inside because "Great STARCLAN you left a vital fucking wittiness alive why didn't you kill her this is the Number One Situation where you should off the witness!" and she's just dreading the day where she has to spin the cover story explaining the violent clan leader's bastard child.

The overworked medicine cat and their apprentice (Briarclaw) do their best to take care of the clan, but the severity of many warriors’ injuries lead to sick cats and pregnant/nursing queens not being cared for quite properly, driving up the infant and maternal mortality rates and the number of preventable deaths from minor illnesses that don't get proper treatment in time. Senior medicine cat dies of exhaustion, and their apprentice is left to deal with the whole hecking clan alone. After a particularly rough kitting, one of the queens dies shortly after giving birth to her two kits, Cherrykit and Redkit. With a father who died a few weeks prior, and an overtaxed surrogate mother, big-brother Briarclaw steps in to be a role model for the two kittens (”I thought medicine cats weren’t supposed to have families?” “We’re not supposed to have kits, there’s no code about having siblings.”) As a result, Cherrykit and Redkit learn a little bit of basic medicine, mostly about how to manage cuts and scratches and the like.

Once the kits were old enough, they were apprenticed. Cherrypaw was given a cat whom I have not developed as a mentor, and Redpaw was given to Hazefall. Hazefall went out of her way to instill an unyielding loyalty to the clan and the code in Redpaw, including that “The leader’s word is the warrior code” clause. At the very end of his apprenticeship, Cherrypaw overhears Jaggedstar and Hazefall discussing how they would continue to hide Icestar’s murder from the clan. Jaggedstar realizes that he was being watched by one of the brothers, but isn’t super sure which, so he resorts to seeing which one reacts more noticeably to being subtly threatened into silence. Cherrypaw is still young enough to be not great at maintaining a poker face, leading Jaggedstar to figure out that he was the one to hear him confess to murder.

Cherrypaw and Redpaw are made full warriors, Cherrystep and Redpool (they also stand as reminders of Jaggedstar’s Bad Naming Choices), and, during their vigil, Jaggedstar tells Briarclaw to meet him in the woods. He murders Briarclaw, and makes Very Obvious Sounds to lure one of the young warriors to investigate. His plan is to A: Frame Cherrystep for murder and exile him or B: Murder Redpool as a threat to Cherrystep and just blame the two deaths on foxes. Cherrystep goes to investigate, and Jaggedstar immediately beats him up in order to make it more believable that Cherrystep had just fought an older cat. Redpool goes back into camp to alert the rest of the clan, because at this point there’s Definitely a Fight and it might be an invasion. The whole clan comes outside to find their medicine cat dead and their leader restraining Cherrystep, who is justifiably Not Okay and incoherent. One rushed trial in a society where it’s illegal to question your leader later and Cherrystep is banished, a bloody mess. Hazefall immediately pulls Jaggedstar aside and nearly knocks off a couple of his lives then and there because “WHY CAN’T YOU JUST KILL THE WITNESS WITHOUT DRAMATICS? WHY CAN’T YOU JUST! DO! THINGS! EFFICIENTLY?” The whole clan slowly gaslights Redpool into believing that Cherrystep actually did a murder.

The stuff that went on in the formation of Reedclan:

The she-cat who I still don’t have a name for gives birth and raises the only surviving kit just beyond clan territories. She names her kit Violetkit and gives her the closest thing to a warrior’s upbringing that she can, making sure to teach about the code (with emphasis on the “Always help a kit in danger, even if it’s not from your clan” clause). She does her best to give her kit a proper apprenticeship as well, and goes as far as to give her a proper apprentice title. She also teaches her kit that her father, Jaggedstar, is an absolute pile of shit who deserves to rot forever in purgatory. Violetkit/paw grows up with a general distaste for her father.

After Violetpaw has been an “apprentice” for almost six moons, an encounter with a stray dog leads to her mother’s death. After burying her mother and sitting vigil for her, Violetpaw heads for the clan territories, the only suitable response she can come up with being to confront Jaggedstar In Person.

She manages to catch him alone in the woods, and is surprised to see that he’s a surprisingly small, unassuming cat. She does an “Hello. My name is Inego Montoya” and introduces herself Like That. Jaggedstar, amused that her mother would go so far as to apprentice this kit alone and frustrated that there is, in fact, a living witness to his nonsense, snarls that “If your mother was so confident to give you a warrior’s upbringing, then I guess I owe you a warrior’s name. From this moment onward, you will be known as Violetbane. Starclan as my witness, you and your mother are the bane of my existence!”

He then proceeds to attempt to silence her properly, but Violetbane was, in fact, prepared for a fight, and she overpowers him sufficiently enough to convince him to turn back for reinforcements. Violetbane, wisely, takes this opportunity to get out of dodge.

She returns to the general area where she and her mother had been living and vows to be a better warrior than her father. She turns this motivation towards building a clan from the ground up; eventually gathering enough formerly unaffiliated cats around the lake to badger their way into a Gathering alongside Ivyclan.

Ivyclan Nonsense:

Cherrystep, distraught and injured, makes an effort to put distance between himself and his murderous former leader as soon as he is exiled. Eventually, he drags himself into a cave overlooking a stream among the hills outside of clan territory. He rests there for a while, his shoulder too recently injured to do much in the way of hunting, but he does find some goldenrod growing nearby which he uses to ward off infection as best as he can.

His luck improves upon meeting the one-eyed loner Thorn, an elderly tom who is open to working together to survive. Thorn (later Thornstrike) makes himself the first member of what will eventually snowball into Ivyclan, and takes the position of resident grandpa. The two slowly stabilize a life in the system of caves in the hillside, and as they establish a territory, their group increases in size, cat by cat, until Cherrystep has to face the fact that he’s now the leader of a motley little clan. Most of the new Ivyclan cats are the cats that didn’t fit in with other cat colonies, or who were displaced by Jaggedstar’s aggressiveness in Twolegplace. After meeting the Reedclan cats on a patrol one day, Cherrystep and Violetbane (soon to be named Violetstar) form a firm alliance in the face of the forest clans, and Jaggedstar in particular.

After both Violetstar and Cherrystep are granted their nine lives, a plan is made to crash a Gathering and expose Jaggedstar’s crimes to the whole forest. That’s generally where things stand right now.))
