Holy shit I just realised that dungeon meshi would lend itself really well to a sci-fi setting, too. All the different types of humans look different and have different life spans because theyre adapted to different planets (likely through bioengineering, which im kinda using as a stand-in for magic.) Instead of eating iconic fantasy RPG monsters, it'd be about eating iconic alien lifeforms (The Red Dragon would probably be one of those Giant Sand Worms that are incredibly common in sci-fi) I'm not sure what the stand-in for the dungeon would be. Perhaps humans haven't yet reached travel between solar systems, but every so often wormholes will pop up to places with unexplainably odd physics? I'm not sure what the demon would be though. I mean, in this context, I suppose science itself would represent the limitless potential to fulfill our own desires, but like. I don't wanna have weird anti-science undertones by having science represent the antagonist?!?!? At the same time, I don't want to fall back into magic (not that sci-fi and magic together don't work, but I think it'd be interesting to take full advantage of the science) EDIT: THE LION CAN JUST BE SOMETHING THAT GENERATES LIMITLESS ENERGY. THE LION CAN BE SOMETHING WEIRD LIKE A BLACK HOLE OR SOMETHING LOL. that works Just think of bioengineered chimera Falin <3 Frankenstein's monster kinda gal <3<3<3. Also You can't tell me Laios wouldn't be super excited to explain how stuff like the Alien's Alien and The Thing reproduce 💀 Also put Marcille in a lab coat NOW!!!!

If Arthur got a makeover from the Fab Five
Someone has probably thought of this before, but I was watching the new season of Queer Eye and of course I imagined modern John and Abigail nominating Arthur. He's a lonely bachelor and he does so much to help the family and them specifically. He baby sits Jack all the time and he's always there for them. They just want him to see how great he is and how much they appreciate it.
Karamo would for sure make him cry and tell him very directly how he has value and needs to love himself and show himself as much care as he gives to others. He'd call him out for how he uses his self deprecating comments as a defense mechanism and deflects every compliment. He knows hugs might be too much at first so he gently touches Arthur's forearm and tells him he is worthy of love and affection. That's when Arthur finally breaks down. Karamo has his work cut out the most on this one tbh. But you bet your ass Arthur'll be bear hugging everyone by the end of the episode.
Jonathan would flirt with him and use his Blanche voice lol. Probably make him smile shyly and blush beet red too lmao. Arthur doesn't need too much help as far as grooming. But Jonathan gives him a crash coarse in hair product and skin care, baybee.
Arthur has some decent basic skills in the kitchen, so Antoni would be relatively pleased. But Arthur is a very simple cook, and does it more out of necessity. Yet he has a surprising array of unused spices and ingredients in the cabinet. So Antoni shows him how to actually use them in a fun outside the box recipe (idk what though because I'm not great at cooking lol) and to utilize more fresh ingredients, if anything.
Arthur's house is very clean and organized, but rather sparse. His bedroom is somehow a disaster though? It's not overly cluttered, but the space is poorly utilized and it's not a relaxing environment. Its reflective of Arthur's lack of self care. Bobby makes over his bedroom and creates a space that's warm, inviting, and masculine, and still cozy and relaxing. It's his retreat at the end of the day and a space just for him to decompress and be at peace. Oh yeah there's a desk with a bomb ass stationary set up for journal writing and sketching. Haha
Arthur's fashion sense is not bad, but like his cooking, it's just very basic. Tan clings to the few pops of color and subtle patterns in his wardrobe and runs with that. He gives him a more polished version of the kinds of things he already wears just to elevate them. Shows him some cool jackets and teaches him about paying attention to shapes and silhouettes with clothes. Arthur is into it and he sees how clothes can make you feel confident. Tan also makes him get a casual suit in a sorta fun color, like a blue maybe, y'know, for going out or whatever. Also also...Arthur with a French tuck lol.
At the end, his reveal event is a big family bbq and all the gang is there and they cry and laugh and it's wholesome lol.
