I was trying to teach my dropout service dog that when he wants to leave my room he’s allowed to pull a rope tied to the knob, but he won’t do it unless I get up, point at the door, and give him permission. Once while trying to teach him he doesn’t need my command, in a desperate attempt to get my holy blessing to open the door, he gently picked up and handed me my slipper. It was so cute I opened the door.

It’s been over a year and this dog still hands me my slipper to ask if it’s ok to leave.
