Smackdown Live! Review- April 10th, 2018
Happy Tuesday gang! Surprised that I’m here for another Smackdown review? It’s the Smackdown after Mania, of course I’m here for a review. Where else would I be but watching the show? Honestly I’d either be at the gym or my best friend’s house, but not tonight!
I’ll be posting my Mania reflections tomorrow (hopefully!) Look out for that when it drops!
Please let me know what your thoughts on the show were, or your thoughts on this review! Any type of feedback is welcomed. Thanks for reading and sharing!
Opening- Shane McMahon
After his match against KO and Sami at Mania on Sunday, we have to wonder where Shane will go next. Before Mania, Shane did step down from his role as commissioner of Smackdown, so he’ll probably name his successor.
Shane thanks the audience for a great Wrestlemania, and thanks everyone for travelling and supporting the show. He hypes the audience up by talking about Daniel Bryan and what an amazing job he did at Mania. Shane has accepted Daniel’s resignation as Manager and has him back as a full-time performer. Noiceee. We’ll have to see how often Daniel is allowed to compete, however. I have to imagine that they have to test him before and after every show to make sure things are okie dokie.
Shane announces that there will be a new GM for Smackdown, and he brings to the ring no one other than Paige! Paige is a great choice for this! She just retired from in-ring competition last night on Raw, and having her be GM is such a great choice. I wish her the best, and I can’t wait to see what she does for the Shake-up next week.
New Day vs. The Usos
On Sunday, both of these teams lost to the Bludgeon Brothers in a 3-way tag match for the tag titles. It was not surprising that the Bludgeon Brothers won, but I’m hoping their title reign does not last very long. I don’t want them to be this unbeatable force that no one can beat. That would make for a very uninteresting story in my opinion.
Jimmy and Jey bring some awesome teamwork against the New Day in the opening moments of this match. It looks like Xavier and Big E will be fighting tonight. New Day quickly counter the Usos attacks to get the upperhand in the match.
I’m really excited for the Shake-up this time around because we really need some fresh faces on the show, especially in the Smackdown tag division. I wanna see the teams in the ring change it up and fight someone else for once. I’m so sick of these matches every week.
These guys have fought and put on some great matches, and the crowd is really into the match tonight. I love the New Orleans crowd a lot, they’ve been really great this week so far.
Xavier and Jey have been really going at it ever since the show came back from commercial. This is now turning into a huge fight, and it’s interesting now. Big E gets the sneaky tag to Xavier, unbeknownst to the Usos. Xavier and E hit a huge neckbreaker, but it doesn’t get them very far as the Usos find a way to counter and nail Xavier with a bunch of superkicks. Jimmy goes up to the top rope and hits Xavier with a beautiful splash. 1,2,3 for the Usos tonight. This match started out as nothing, but turned into a great fight by the end of it. The Usos will challenge the Bludgeon Brothers for the titles at the event in Saudi Arabia later this month.
Naomi vs. Natalya
At Wrestlemania, Naomi won the first ever Women’s Battle Royal to be held at Mania. I’m glad she won, I think she was the best choice to win. She’s so talented and athletic and so accomplished. I hope she gets another shot at a title soon, she deserves it.
Her opponent, Natalya, also deserves another title shot at some point. Nattie is one of the most experienced women on the roster, and having her as champion again would make me so happy.
The bout starts off with a little showboating and some slaps from the women. The two go back and forth for a bit, and Naomi tosses Nattie right out of the ring and onto the floor. Have we seen these two fight before? I feel like this is a matchup that could really take flight if given the proper time and planning.
The match returns with Nattie in control as she stands of Naomi. Nattie gets Naomi in position for a nice snap suplex, and transitions into a nice submission move that I don’t really know how to describe? It almost looked like a standing surfboard mixed with a crossface?
Naomi finally breaks free and hits Nattie with those fast kicks and jumps to the top rope but Nattie comes behind and knocks her down. Nattie then tries for the sharpshooter, but Naomi gets away and fights Nattie back finally. She ends up knocking her down with a boot, and then she does her flat-legged moonsault to get the win.
Charlotte’s Title Celebration
Oh my god you guys, Charlotte defeated the streak at Mania against Asuka in what I can only describe as the most unpredictable thing of the night. I have so many mixed emotions, mostly all positive, about the match. I wish Asuka had won so we could have a shakeup in the Women’s division on the show, but with the shakeup next week, maybe I’ll get what I’m hoping for.
OH MAN THE ICONICO ONES BILLIE KAY AND PEYTON ROYCE ARE HERE! CHARLOTTE WAS LIKE WHO’S NEXT AND THESE TWO ARE HERE YESYESYESYES
Oh man, I love these two already. I loved them on NXT, and I think they’re a great addition to SD. These two really are the future.
Charlotte was done with what the iconics were saying and threw an elbow right at Billie. Charlotte does well for herself at first, but the women quickly get a hold of her and ambush her. They throw her over the announce table and into the ring post. They stand on her hands, and then they throw Charlotte right into the steel steps.
This was straight up brutality from the iconics, and it was amazing.
OH SHIT CARMELLA IS HERE SHE’S CASHING IN YES OH GOD YES
SHE KICKS HER IN THE FACE AND CARMELLA IS CHAMPION FINALLY!!
This is it. This is all I want from the show tonight. Thanks very much.
Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode vs. Rusev
At Wrestlemania, Jinder Mahal came out on top and beat these three guys for the U.S Title. Tonight, these three guys will fight to see who becomes the number one contender for the title to face Jinder at Backlash.
It’s still so surprising to me how over Rusev is. I think it’s because he’s easy for people to chant for. I want him to be a wrestler again, not a gimmick.
It looks like Randy is taking the lead in this match thus far. He’s got Bobby in a headlock currently, and he knocked Rusev out of the ring early on. I think Randy will get one more shot at the title, but I think Bobby or Rusev deserve to be champion more this time around.
Rusev is back in the ring and is trying to knock Bobby down. He doesn’t, and Bobby almost pins him, but Randy is quick to get back in and break up the fight. It’s now Randy and Rusev, and Rusev nails Orton with a huge superkick to his jaw. Randy and Rusev are now fighting outside of the ring, and Randy lifts Rusev on to the table and flips his over. Bobby makes his way back into the match and tames Orton for a bit, but Rusev now slides back in and goes for Bobby.
Rusev is so quick to build the pace of the match back up to where it should be. He fires with everything he’s got at Bobby and locks in the Accolade, but he doesn’t get it all the way and Randy comes back in to stomp at Rusev. He nails Bobby with the RKO, and Randy wins, earning a chance to face Jinder again.
Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles
AJ said it best in his backstage interview, no one thought this match would happen in a WWE ring EVER. I think this is now the new dream match.
AJ and Shinsuke had a great match at Mania that had an upsetting ending with AJ still as champion. I wish Shinsuke would’ve won, but the heel turn at the end is such a captivating and promising thing and I love it already.
Daniel is dawning his classic wet slicked back hair, and he is ready to get back into the ring as a competitor.
The match starts with some easy lockups and sequences that set the technical pace of the match. Daniel is down for most of the beginning, but he’s now on his feet after a sweet kip up, and he’s now focused on kicking the shit out of AJ. Daniel has turned his focus to AJ’s arm, and this is where Daniel shines.
Daniel keeps his rally going but is suddenly put to a halt by AJ with a huge ass dropkick right to Daniel’s face.
I think I’m going to have to try to like Daniel Bryan again. I am so happy that he gets to continue to live his dream and is able to wrestle again, I think that’s so inspiring. But as I’ve said before, I have never bought into the Daniel Bryan hype. When he hit his peak, I wasn’t watching a lot of wrestling at the time, and I missed a lot of great moments. I know Daniel can impress me, but I’m not jumping at the chance to be in his corner just yet.
The match rolls on as Daniel nails AJ with a flying forearm. It really looks like Daniel has never stepped away from the ring, he looks like he wrestled yesterday. He’s sharp and clear, hopefully this can last.
I can’t help but worry every time Daniel gets hit on his head. I don’t him to wrestle today, only to hang it up again tomorrow.
Even with selling a knee injury, Daniel is able to lock in an armbar from a suplex. AJ is able to escape and lock in the calf crusher, but the submission specialist in Daniel sneaks out of it, but AJ is able to find a way to lock back in. Daniel almost gets the yes lock in, but AJ gets up and delivers the pele kick to Daniel. He goes for the phenomenal forearm, but Daniel counters and gets back to his feet. He tries for those dropkicks in the corner, but AJ trips him and tries to hit the clash, but Bryan gets out and tries for the yes lock, but AJ finds the bottom rope to break the hold.
Daniel and AJ start fighting on the top rope, and Daniel tried to hit a superplex on AJ, but AJ shifted his weight and was able to knock Daniel over in mid-air, and I think he landed on Bryan’s face? Ouch? With both men down, Shinsuke inserted himself into the match and kicked Daniel in the head, making the bell ring. He then attacked AJ again, and walked away with a sly smile on his face. If we are getting true heel Shin, sign me the fuck up.
That’s it for the Smackdown after Mania! I thought this was a pretty good show. There weren’t as many debuts as there were last night, but we get Carmella as champion AND the iconic duo! I’m happy with that.
Stay tuned for more posts during the week! My Mania reflections post will hopefully be up tomorrow, as well as maybe a post for NXT??
Please reblog and leave some feedback!

Following the second annual Disco Derby back in March, Discovery Wrestling were scheduled to take a break until returning in October but they simply couldn’t wait any longer. As a result, they’re back in the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on Saturday afternoon for Camp Discovery, a show that looks like it will be a day to remember for the Discovery faithful. We’ve got championship matches, we’ve got debuts, we’ve got returns, and we’ve got two members of Bullet Club coming along too!
Tumblr media
Joe Hendry vs Rampage Brown
A mammoth singles match will see Joe Hendry taking on Rampage Brown in a battle between two of the UK’s very best unsigned talents. After defeating Timothy Thatcher in November in quite the technical contest, The Prestigious One has been the number one contender to Joe Coffey’s Y Division Championship, with The Iron King refusing to give Hendry his title opportunity until he sees fit. Coffey has stated that he wasn’t scheduled to defend his title again until the October anniversary show and will be living by that fact, which means he will indeed break Lewis Girvan’s record reign at 666 days. With that though, it left Joe Hendry without an opponent for Saturday’s show. Step forward Rampage Brown. The man from Leeds hasn’t been seen in Discovery since his participation in the first annual Hotter Than Hell Edinburgh Invitational Tournament back in 2017, where he had excellent contests with Dave Conrad, Mikey Whiplash, and eventual winner Aspen Faith. In the time since then, Rampage has been tearing it up all over the UK, which included an 11 month reign as the Defiant World Champion. If he’s able to get a pin over the #1 contender to the Y Division Championship, you’d have to imagine he would then also have a claim to be challenging for the gold.

Triple Threat Match for the Discovery Women’s Championship Emily Hayden vs Martina (c) vs Ashley Vega
The most recent Discovery event was the second Disco Derby, a night that saw Martina crowned the new Women’s Champion when she won the 2019 Disco Derby Match. Even though she’s more commonly known as a comedy performer, that match showed that The Session Moth can be a serious wrestler as well as she outlasted the likes of Debbie Keitel, Raven Creed, and defending champion Sammii Jayne to become the second Discovery Women’s Champion in history. Her first defence will see her defend the gold against two of the other competitors in that match, Emily Hayden and Ashley Vega. Both of those ladies have been making their names known around the rest of the UK throughout this year, with Hayden recently being fired from the Fierce Females roster after losing to Sammie Jo in an I Do Match whereas Vega has been making her presence felt in top promotions such as Pro Wrestling: EVE. A win for either of the challengers here would be huge for them – they just need to find their way past the antics of Martina.

Fatal Four Way Match for the WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship The Sam Barbour Experience vs Jason Reed (c) vs Alexander Dean vs Fraser Thomas
Another multi-man title match will feature one return and three debuts, as Jason Reed comes back down to Edinburgh to put the WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship on the line against The Sam Barbour Experience, Alexander Dean, and Fraser Thomas. Ever since this one was announced, all four competitors have been quite vocal on social media, namely Reed and Dean. For those who have been following Jason Reed in the last year or so, then you’ll be aware of his intentions to make wrestling great again, something that will be achieved when he defends another promotion’s title inside a Discovery ring. It could result in a new champion making their way up to the Northern Hotel on August 17th, especially given who the three challengers are. All of them are in with a chance of snatching the title out of Jason’s grasp – if we’ve learned anything from Jason though, he’s got a plan in mind for this one, perhaps with a new member of The Reed Cabinet being unveiled in the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

The Anti-Fun Police (Chief Deputy Dunne & Los Federales Santos Jr.) vs The Kings of Catch (Aspen Faith vs Lewis Girvan)
This is my ultimate dream match – The Anti-Fun Police vs The Kings of Catch. The hater of all things funahhh vs the masters of the Apter Burner. What’s not to love? Chief Deputy Dunne made his Discovery debut back in March at the Disco Derby in a match also involving BT Gunn, Kid Fite, and Aspen Faith. Ever since then, Dunne has ensured he won’t rest until he shuts down all the fun being had by The Kings of Catch, and is even bringing in everyone’s favourite man to back him up, Los Federales Santos Jr. While they may be one of the UK’s premier tag teams, there’s no team better in Discovery than The Kings of Catch. Since coming together in the company, Aspen and Lewis have had classic battles with the likes of The Kings of the North and the team of Chris Brookes and Omari, while Lewis also teamed with Damien in another excellent bout with CCK earlier this year after Aspen suffered a minor injury. We’ll never get to see a proper Kings vs CCK bout due to the recent retirement of Kid Lykos but in my eyes, this could be equally as good. Sure, it probably won’t be the most ‘wrestling’ type match of the night if that makes sense, but you’re in for a good laugh when these four collide. Sometimes, that’s all you need from a match.
Tumblr media
Angel Hayze vs Sammii Jayne
Now that she’s back from some time off due to a recent surgery, Sammii Jayne is out for revenge against of her protégés, Angel Hayze. With Sammii defending her Discovery Women’s Championship in the 15 woman Disco Derby Match (technically 14 since Nina Samuels never officially entered), she ended up being just the second person dumped out of the ring at the hands of Angel. Even though Hayze would be the next person eliminated by Ashley Vega, she still holds that fact over Sammii’s head. She may not have won the match, but she’s essentially responsible for the culmination of Sammii Jayne’s 483 day championship reign. Angel is really coming on leaps and bounds this year, with regular appearances up and down the country. She’s made a new home in Discovery throughout 2019, and what better way to leave a lasting impression than with a victory over one of the UK’s very best?
Tumblr media
Bullet Club (El Phantasmo & HIKULEO) vs The Nine9 (Dickie Divers & Jack Morris)
When El Phantasmo and HIKULEO were confirmed for this show, I’m not sure many people would’ve predicted their opponents to be The Nine9. Dickie Divers and Jack Morris united in Discovery back in March as surprise opponents for Chris Renfrew and Michael Chase but outside of Edinburgh, they’ve become well acquainted with the fans at both ICW and Reckless Intent Wrestling, even going so far as to earn themselves an ICW Tag Team Championships match with The Kings of Catch at Shug’s Hoose Party 6. This is undoubtedly their biggest match as a team so far, and possibly even of their entire careers (certainly in Morris’ case). They could boost their careers into the stratosphere with a win over Phantasmo and HIKULEO.
Tumblr media
Kieran Kelly vs Theo Doros
A change to the previously announced bout will now see Kieran Kelly go up against former House of Saynt member Theo Doros, with his original opponent Josh Terry now unable to make the show. These two are no stranger to each other within a Discovery ring, having faced off a few months ago in an Elimination Match alongside Christopher Saynt and Grant McIvor (who substituted for Damien). That match would see Kelly come out on top but that’s not all we’ve seen from both men in Discovery during the first half of 2019 – they were both part of the second Disco Derby show in March, with Kieran answering Joe Hendry’s open challenge in an unsuccessful effort while Theo went to a no contest with Christopher Saynt in a brutal Unsanctioned Match. Although Kelly vs Terry would have been a tantalising contest, Kelly vs Doros has all the potential to be an equally-as-great contest.
Although he hasn’t got an opponent confirmed at the time of writing, Discovery have announced that The Munndertaker will be back in action at the Corn Exchange following his victory over Martina back in January. Who will dare step up to challenge The Dead Munn?
Tickets in the first two rows have sold out, but general admission tickets are still available, priced £15 for adults, £10 for children, and £40 for a family of four. Doors at the Corn Exchange open at 2:15pm, with the action kicking off at 3pm. Don’t forget that following the show, you can head to the Opium at 8pm for a special live edition of The Joe Hendry Show and How To Become A Pro Wrestler, featuring the usual lineup alongside Discovery co-owner Alan Smith and a select few Discovery roster members to be announced. Tickets to that are priced at £10, or just £6 if you have your ticket stub from this show.

Grimoire of Zero 1 | The Royal Tutor 2 | SukaSuka 1 | Tsukigakirei 2 | Kado 2 | Twin Angel Break 2 | Boku no Hero Academia 16
Grimoire of Zero 1
I mistook this as Re:Zero at one point (because of the Zero Kara Hajimeru… start of the title). However, despite my having never seen Re:Zero, I’m always open for a good fantasy title.
At least this show is funny, that’s for sure.
Eh, this plot seems like Bungou’s a tad – if you think about why Atsushi was hunted down and such – but then who’s going to be Zero in a Bungou Stray Dogs x Grimoire of Zero AU?
This seems a little cliché in how it handles its humour, but I have a feeling it’ll go above and beyond.
What struck me was that they chose the name Plasta as the capital’s name. A capital city called “Plaster”, pretty much, LOL.
The ED reminds me of Flip Flappers and the book motif reminds me of Deltora Quest, so it’s quite the nostalgic feeling. It’s a keeper, although if it becomes an endless bore of a quest then it may hold less potential than I think it does.
The Royal Tutor 2
It seems Bruno is one prince everyone with a strict study regimen’ll relate to. (Or at least, those who’ve had a strict study regimen at least once in their life.) Even if this is an exercise in drawing out humour to the fullest, it’s relatable and that’s part of what gives this show its personality.
I haven’t seen anyone this enthusiastic to have a master since Yotaro (SGRS)! LOL.
Heine used watakushi. He’s very polite.
Yeahhhhhhh…this, as you may know from how I treated Love Tyrant and Armed Girls, is not going to go down well. Just when the show had gained my favour, too…
I think the girls might’ve referred to Heine as Heinecchi. Update: My mistake, it was Heine-chan.
Behoove? Welp, I learnt a new English word from the subs. It’s not every day that happens, although I tend to pick up cultural things a lot from subs (hence these notes).
Creepy CGI door is not to be taken lightly too. The camera angle was a bit weird there, to boot.
Eeeeeeee! Kai is the one I want to know about the most! (Not just ‘cos he’s handsome, mind you. It’s because he doesn’t talk.)
Shadow? A name for a white dog? Doesn’t make much sense, but it makes me laugh, so okay, I’ll take it. *beams*
Just antisocial, eh? All the more reason to like ‘im.
SukaSuka 1
There aren’t too many promising debuts this season (I only really have my eyes on BnHA, Kado and The Royal Tutor at the moment) because “shows potential” is very different to “I want to keep watching!” for me, but maybe SukaSuka will do the trick.
Why does every fantasy world these days involve animal people? Who knows?
Intereting to note there was Scarborough Fair in English (yes, I had the volume on this time). As a side note, the song was sung by a Tamaru Yamada. (Around when the juggling Pac-Man appears, there’s credits for it.)
I would’ve asked where she was going if she said she had to go, mate. Ask her!
Ny…troll girl is pretty typical for this kind of anime, but Willem seems like he could be a spanner in the works.
Butt shot no. 1.
That oddly placed camera angle (the one where you see into the room from the window) was weird. Seriously though, how does Willem know Nyllathgo (or whatever troll girl’s name is)? Update: her name is Nygglatho. It was close, but not quite it…
Reptrace appears to be a made up cuisine.
I can only see the kids as shippers in the making, but I guess that’s YoI’s fault…?
I remember from pre-show material her katakana name is Kutori, so I’m gonna go with that spelling.
Lemme guess: it’s because the weapons are the kids?(!)
Well that was new: I can normally guess a new point for a show that plays it safe like this, but Kutori is a weapon too? That I didn’t guess. That automatically means I keep it on, at least for another week.
Tsukigakirei 2
Tsukigakirei is sitting somewhere pretty high on the list of “shows to go on hold this season”, so it’ll have to perform well to not have to get that treatment. Considering I can be fairly strict with my 5 show quota, I need to put 2 shows on hold (since out of 8 shows, the third is Kenka Bancho Otome, which automatically goes out of the running), 1 if I use a space I just freed up.
Was the live action OP really necessary? Considering this is anime, it is a bit odd. (Then again, didn’t I raise that gripe with Kado too?)
I don’t normally think about staff much unless they’re familiar names, but Seiji Kishi is a name that’s come up before – with Rampo Kitan.
It just so happens the girly boy is the one with the horns on his headband…for some reason, I find it suits him, since he’s the devil’s advocate to Kotaro. Also, why isn’t Kotaro wearing his headband?
Hey, this feeling. I’ve never really participated in these sport days (if I was forced to do stuff, I’d shotgun shotput since no one really took it), but I know the feelings around them real well. Once again, Tsukigakirei excels in recreating a teenage experience…
I has a small sneaking suspicion Akane’s toy would have gotten lost, and it seems like that’s coming true.
I laughed a really derpy laugh at devil’s advocate boy liking the teacher. Even though I had a small squick moment that it may have been romantic, suki is quite the broad term compared to how Akane and Kotaro’s romance is laid out so…it can’t be said for sure that the boy’s “like” is romantic, too.
That pink thing is a potato mascot?! I’m not angry, just hella surprised – that pink thing is so not a potato.
I gave a little “aw!” at when Kotaro told Akane she was fine the way she was. Now there’s a sentiment I can get behind.
Why does he box the light string? I don’t get it…but at least it makes him more dynamic than, say, Haruki (Sagrada Reset).
Haneteru-kun? So that’s how you say it in Japanese?
The style of the ED is unique, that’s for sure.
I think Tsukigakirei just proved itself. Sure, it’s not a complete “turn genres on its head” sort of thing, but it’s competent at what it does, and that’s all it needs right now. That’s all it’ll ever need. Then again, that does beggar the question: what goes on hold instead? There’s only one way to find out…
Kado 2
I was surprised to find out Shunina was voiced by none other than Akoya (Takuma Terashima)!
The OP is a rather odd choice (in regards to the music), but it does at least set the atmosphere well.
WPAN? I know of LANs and WANs, so WLAN makes sense (kind of), but not that…Okay, I learnt something.
“…we’re touching the ground…”
When the plane looks better than the characters…you know you’re doing CG wrong.
I want the OST of this, that song when Shindo touches the bottom of the cube really creates the feeling of a “foreign space”.
Erm, while Shindo and Shunina are negotiating, Shunina seems to have forgotten he’s buck naked…? Not that I mind, and it completely makes sense for an alien like him, but…yeah. He’s naked.
Base 10 = decimal, base 16 = hexadecimal, base 2 = binary. Shunina seems to be expressing the time in binary, but time is in base 60 (because 60 seconds = 1 minute and so on, so forth).
That bread doesn’t look too appetising, LOL.
I know Kado is much prettier flat, but when it’s just slow pans…you can tell they skimped on the budget. CGI is costly, sure, but…make sure you have proper budget before you make an anime, people, please. (On the other hand, I like 2D!Shunina.)
Is there any significance as to what order people appear in the ED?
Kado’s been my top contender ever since episode 0. While it does have its visual flaws, it’s an intelligent anime that takes its time to explain things and build suspense.
Twin Angel Break 2
I ended up keeping this on because I have no access to Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise…
I never knew Sumire was such a sucker for her brother…I’ve never seen such a trope in magical girl shows before, and normally when you see it in anime, it’s a dude lusting after his younger sister, not the other way around. Just another sign this is aimed at pachinko-playing guys…
Gah! Fanservice shots! In my magical girl anime! *points* Another sign this is for dudes. By the way, ari can mean ant.
People don’t move like conveyer belts when solving maths problems.
Welp, such is the mark of a society that wants extroverts…
Meguru appears to have a red bean bun, although I’m not sure of its name aside from “red bean bun”.
Wait, where’s the ball?!
I always thought “Pochi” was a common name for a dog in Japan, kinda like the Western world’s “Spot”. Or “Hachi”, if you want your dog to be like Hachiko.
An event about animals at Tokyo Big Sight? Well, I’ll be. Wonders never cease in this show.
During the pan, the screen seems to jolt a bit. It’s kinda awkward for a show that is otherwise good visually.
Who has a porcupine as a pet? Sometimes I can’t tell if this show’s for little girls or older men…Well, Google says it’s possible to have a porcupine as a pet, but still I bet a pachislot-playing man wouldn’t know you can have a pet porcupine.
I was most displeased when I realised Sumire has a Gainax moment in her transformation sequence. Yet another fanservice spot to add to the growing list of annoyances in this show…
Geddit? It’s Me-ari?
It’s the ol’ duplication trick. Saw it in Smile Precure, so I guess I’m kinda numb to it already.
I was not expecting that for the ED. I really didn’t.
Well, I’ve had enough gripes about this show. It’s going on hold so I can figure out my feelings about it. That being said, there’s a lot of “middle ground” anime this time - if SukaSuka or Grimoire of Zero don’t get the boot from their next ep, I’ll have to deal with 6 simulcasting anime and leave the space open. (Luckily, there have been so many full seasons that I have a little too much bingewatching material available, regardless of whether I have the space open or not.)
Boku no Hero Academia 16
Not sure if chicken race means this or actual chicken racing, since Google tells me actual chicken racing exists.
I’ve wanted to know more about Tokoyami for a while, so here’s hoping for character development!
A-ha! Exploiting landmines’ propulsion – not many would think of that, but Midoriya certainly would.
All Might, Thirteen and Present Mic ganging up like that looks ridiculous, but it’s hilarious and helps to break up the suspense. *thumbs up*
*laughs* Oh man, this is what makes this show so good. It manages to strike hard and well with both its humour, strategy and action – it never misses one beat. That’s the spirit, Boku no Hero Academia! Keep going just like this!
