Utena truly is a show best experienced imo by not stressing about trying to pin down any one piece of symbolism to a singular meaning. In fact, the show actively rebuffs that kind of approach.

#Chu Chu is used to represent several different things and you can’t pin down his usage to just one element #he’s often used to depict anthy’s feelings when she’s projecting a front #but not always. sometimes he’s used to alleviate tension #sometimes I have no damn clue what he’s being used to say #tunes talks utena #or even Akio and the car. it’s OFTEN being used as a vehicle (ha) for sex but that’s not all #and I really enjoy the flexibility and obscurity to the symbolism #it makes analysis of the show so fun to create and read about
