So, we all know that Green is the closest to Purple in the Colour Gang. He's one of the first to meet Purple (along with Blue) in AVM Ep.9 "The Villagers", the one that appeared to care about Purple the most in Animation vs LoL,
the one who didn't give up on Purple even though Purple betrayed him and his friends again, and the one who ultimately turned Purple into their ally.
But why? Why is Green so insistent on Purple even when everyone thought Purple was the bad guy?
My theory is that Green saw himself in Purple.
We all know Purple wanted nothing more than to prove themselves to their father Navy and later to the King, which they saw as their parental figure. From trying to obtain the Enderdragon egg to stealing the Minecraft icon, he desperately wanted to appear "strong", "powerful", "competent", so that their parental figures could be proud of them. Even if the cost is their friendship and more importantly, their conscience.
As for Green, although he doesn't have daddy issues like Purple, he also strives to act his best in front of others. He is very competitive, maybe even the most competitive one out of his friends.
He's also a perfectionist.
What's more, he is a great show-off,
and that often came with a price.
But beneath Green's "cool dude" exterior, he is a soft and gentle stick who cared deeply about his friends,
and who always saw the best in other people.
So of course Green is the one who can tell that what Purple appears to be isn't their real self. Beneath their double-crossing, power-hungry facade is a scared kid who just wants to be seen and loved.
When Green comforted Purple on that mountain top in the Note Block Universe and told them to be their true self,
maybe that is also what he learned by spending time with the Colour Gang too.
Even if you didn't always do the right thing, even if you are not the best at everything you do, even if you are not as cool or as strong as you seem to be, true friends would love you just the same.
TCO and TSC having siblings moments cuz i love them so much you dont understand
headcanon time: before TSC, TDL was TCO's only true friend and brother but after the whole showdown thing TCO was pretty much left alone. For him TSC was just a random stickperson with godly hidden powers until he saw how TSC actually tried to save him during the "wanted" episode when TCO got shot by the merchenaries that left him injured. After that i like to imagine that he actually cares about TSC but doesn't show it (hopefully we get more TCO and TSC interactions in the next episode please alan im begging you please please please)
Heyy let me drop here my current Victim's design I guess? -v-
Okayy, let's see.
Theeen since in AvA episode 8, at least in first sight, they look 'physically' okay and oh they were presented as the new villain xD I wanted to rethink their design. I want them to have this professional and pristine look, but it also had to be intimidating. I imagine them as someone who has this permanent fake smile on the face all the time they feel in control of the things. I also wanted them to keep some details of my old design, like the eyes and the hands.
Lately, my interest in AvA came back again, and I noticed that I really didn't make too much effort with adapting my old Victim's design to the last two episodes of AvA when they were released. Before those episodes, my idea was that they had this kind of contagious "glitch disease," and I established that they were "half-dead" after what happened to them in AvA I. In my head, they had blue eyes with white sclera, and after their almost-death, these changed to black sclera with white iris. They also had this 'skeleton hands' as another sequel. They also had glitches. (You can see all of this information with more detail in these posts:
Disease
Contagious
Eyes
Soo I decided that they would have sequels of what happened in AvA I, but in just one of their eyes, so they use an eye patch to cover it (which I think it also helped me with the intimidating look). They also have the skeleton hands. I imagine them hating them, but they also have them as a constant reminder of why they are still trying to reach their revenge after so many years.
So like I had a vision and i had to put it out to the world but i might redraw this with my headcanon designs later on when I'm not stupidly busy. Does this follow at all what'll happen in canon? Absolutely not! Do i gaf? no!!!!!! Just take the doomed chodark and go!!!!
do you ever imagine loss in riptide bc i sure as hell do
whatever you do
don’t imagine lizzie screaming on her knees, holding her love in her arms lifeless, begging to any god who might exist to bring her back, hadn’t they taken enough
don’t imagine gillion mourning the undersea, not the training or the title but the way the currents played with his hair, chasing fish when boredom struck, the condemnation of the elders despite how hard he begged
don’t imagine chip’s sibs as he walked away from the cinders that was once his home, all he owned left behind, his hands covered in blood he couldn’t wash away even after his skin burnt and rubbed raw
don’t imagine jay silently holding back tears when she sees those little birds, stuck seeing her mother collapse, the woman who always seemed so unbreakable until then, wanting to scream at the world who wanted to take away the last blood family she had left
finally don’t imagine drey, the first people he sees are pirates, a child from his past and a ferin, another one of their family now sailing the seas, he wakes and realised he is the last one left, surviving when everyone else was stolen by the inky black sea, if his own salty tears run down his face no one comments
There's one tiny scene in Showdown that always facinates me. After RGBY were all killed in front of TSC's eyes, his reaction was very interesting.
He did not charge at TDL blindly in grief and rage, he did not break down crying for his friends, he did not dwell on his friends' deaths at all. Instead, he turned to TCO immediately.
When he saw Chosen was surrounded by the swarm of Virabots, he still reached out a hand towards Chosen, then promptly got pierced in the back by Dark's virablades.
For me, this tiny detail made Second different from those typical fearless, hotheaded anime protagonists. This scene alone made Second a fleshed out, realistic character more than anything else in the entire season.
Yes, of course he grieved for his friends' death, but at that very moment, the fear for his own life surpassed everything else. He saw that powerful monster brutally murdered all his friends, and he knew he's going to be next. So he reached out to the only person he knew that could save him, and made a desperate plea:
"Please, help me. I don't wanna die."
Second was many things. He was a talented animator, an insatiable learner, a brave leader, a seasoned warrior. But at that very moment, on the brink of real, permanent death, he was just a scared child calling someone, anyone, for help.
And that made his conscious decision to protect Chosen all the more powerful, because it shows how brave Second really is. He knew his chance against Dark was minimal, he was scared, terrified even, but he still chose to put himself between Chosen and Dark, just because it was the right thing to do.
And that is true bravery. Bravery doesn't mean the absence of fear, it means feeling the fear, but choose to do it anyway.
hey it’s me again! I’m so glad you make AVM comics so I was wondering if you could make a comic about Green and Purple falling in love when they go to the meadow and MT can be overprotective of Purple? Thank you! Also I really love your art!
Uh oh! Someone's catching feelings
=o=o=
I hope you like this! The idea of these sharing a special moment stargazing in a meadow is so cute to me
Sorry I didn't fulfill the last portion of your prompt but genuinely, I don't think King would be OVERprotective of Purple when it comes to who their dating.
Protective to extent, probably judge and tease them but not be like, outright threaten or stop them from pursuing
That's based off my own headcanons where Purple is an adult and them and King have a "roommates turned pseudo-family" situation going on
So King isn't going to try and tell Purple how to handle their own love-life (especially since my King doesn't know or care about romantic relationships in general)
