Index: Commander got hurt two days ago. They were chasing two suspects in a speeder in high speed, and since our speeders are... not always in tip-top shape, the door Commander was leaning on opened by itself
Index: He went hurling out pretty fast, and, by Corporal Brass's description, did "more volts than the trapetze artist that got stuck in their own tigthrope we had to go and rescue last month"
Index: Anyway, Commander proceeds to get up, run after the speeder, take it down and apprehend both suspects. He said his arm was just a bit sore, and he seemed coherent, so they let him slip out from a healthcheck. Commander Thorn brought him in the next morning because he had said something about his 'neck hurting' before he fell asleep
Index: Turns out that Commander had completely shattered his collarbone and proceeded to just...ignore it? I need to check his adrenalin levels... *muttering*
Index: Anyway, I knit the bone back to its original shape, but left it in a sling, for at least a week, so he can take a break from fieldwork at least. And he did, I swear! And I only gave him some mild painkillers. Mild.
Index: So I am not really sure how this happened
(Bullet, standing at the bottom of a very high transmission tower: Commander! What the kriff are you doing?!
Fox, not in full armor and on top of the tower, his arm still in a sling: Look, Bullet, there was-
Bullet, losing his mind: I don't care why you are up there! HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE??!)
Thire, just back from an escort mission:

NSFW: Kuai Liang loves danger when he's with Hanzo. He gets off on it and he doesn't know why. Usually he keeps a level head but once in a while he gives into temptation and sucks the very soul outta Hanzo
NSFW Y'all!
I See your headcanon (and agree wholeheartedly) and I raise you:
Hanzo also gets off on seeing Kuai Liang kill people. He has no idea why it gets him so fired up (pun intended) it just does.
So every now and again they'll just share a look on the battlefield, surrounded by corpses, and go find a corner to make out in. Usually they'll stick to hands or mouths (though Kuai Liang, boy scout that he is, always keeps lube and a condom on hand)(they don't typically use the condom, only when waiting for the results of a healthcheck, but it's good to have)
But one time, Hanzo got cornered and nearly died until Kuai Liang intervened with a massive ice attack, in the netherrealm no less, and killed 15 oni with one blow, dispatching the rest with a fury Hanzo had never seen before.
Hanzo had immediately dragged Kuai Liang off into a well hidden and protected corner and basically demanded that Kuai Liang fuck him until he couldn't walk. Kuai lIang was happy to oblige.
They have a lot of "holy shit we almost died but yay we lived" sex

I am quitting Amino. I got a strike roughly 4 months ago because I made a post mentioning some heavy subjects, explaining my inactivity. It had a TW, and I messaged an LT member once it was taken down to get some help recording it. I had to remove everything and just vaguely say I wouldn't be online. Despite reaching out and clearly kust being in a bad place, I understandably got a strike. I requested an appeal a month ago and still haven't gotten a dm. This has ruined a lot of my plans and hopes on the Amino and ruined a lot of the fun for me, but I lept participating.
Yesterday, I got another strike, but unlike the time before, it wasn't because I was sharing a long, complex story. I commented on a mental health check-in post, and it made me feel supported and loved while going through a harsh breakup. I commented something along the lines of "I'm getting out of an abusive relationship, so this helped me a lot, thank you!", only to be muted and strikes hours later. If you look at the guidelines, they don't specify the punishment for when you don't go into extreme detail, have ill intent, etc. However, in these same guidelines, I had a friend who had jokes about cannabalism and was let off with a warning. Therefore, they are not using precedent at all and are making up punishment as they go. It's also HILARIOUS to me that if I had said "manipulative" instead of "abusive," the meaning wouldn't change, but the outcome would. WA used to be a space where people weren't afraid to speak and support one another. No one has reached out to me throughout my difficulties recently besides the person on the mental healthcheck-upp post. I haven't felt valued or cared for, rather like a cog in the machine.
I have been taking care of Photographyclan for months, and because of these strikes, I am losing my position. I have worked tirelessly for months and no longer feel any value from Amino. I'm retiring from all of my positions and want to give a big fuck you to the LT. I hope you learn what empathy is.

Python "SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character '\xe2' in file" [duplicate]
This question already has answers here:
SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character '\xa3' in file when function returns '£' (6 answers)
Closed 8 months ago.
I am writing some python code and I am receiving the error message as in the title, from searching this has to do with the character set.
Here is the line that causes the error
hc = HealthCheck("instance_health", interval=15, target808="HTTP:8080/index.html")
I cannot figure out what character is not in the ANSI ASCII set? Furthermore searching "\xe2" does not give anymore information as to what character that appears as. Which character in that line is causing the issue?
I have also seen a few fixes for this issue but I am not sure which to use. Could someone clarify what the issue is (python doesn't interpret unicode unless told to do so?), and how I would clear it up properly?
EDIT:Here are all the lines near the one that errors
def createLoadBalancer(): conn = ELBConnection(creds.awsAccessKey, creds.awsSecretKey) hc = HealthCheck("instance_health", interval=15, target808="HTTP:8080/index.html") lb = conn.create_load_balancer('my_lb', ['us-east-1a', 'us-east-1b'],[(80, 8080, 'http'), (443, 8443, 'tcp')]) lb.configure_health_check(hc) return lb

08.01-20.01
i drafted this ages ago but was too lazy to post so just throwing the draft into the world
Work
Pretty busy two weeks work-wise.
The team continues to struggle a bit with the new standup but after the retro most have started reviewing the board more frequently and ensuring things are updated/moved etc. There’s been quite a lot of movement in the ‘thank you’ doc I’ve set up so I think eventually we can get away from the need to go through every card or every person and focus on things that are the most significant or could use help. I think there’s also more work for me to do on cards getting created and split out and facilitating conversations around them on a daily basis, I’ll think more about that next week.
I’m also collecting some more info on work completed, mostly categories for now (we’re meant to be doing 20% of maintenance but in reality it seems to be around 60-70%...) but working up to cycle and lead time. I’ve been avoiding it because I have a reckon that
a) it won’t show very healthy things, and
b) it will highlight things we don’t have a way of optimising/will to push them anyway,
…but let’s try. 🤷‍♀️ With any luck it may help escalate the issues around structure and remit we’ve been talking about to Leads and SMT anyway.
On the bright side, the new healthcheck based on a values exercise seems to be working in that the responses are much less generic and it’s easy to pull out actions. I may write up the process of doing this as a separate blogpost here or on LinkedIn.
We kicked off a deep dive into one of the content formats on GOV.UK. So far the designers have been looking at how it was used before and relationship with things like the campaigns platform and other exemptions. Personally, the need for it seems very unclear and I hope connecting with a team that just completed their discovery on content formats overall will help us think more of just retiring it or merging with a different type and making it more flexible.
Work-related events
Product Unconference - I mostly wanted to listen. It was nice to have a chat with a couple of people I’ve not seen since the pre-pandemic times and catch up. Hopefully more of that at the govcamp! The ‘working without a DM’ session highlighted how dysfunctional most teams are… I am very thankful for my current working situation and my great PM, but I’ve definitely felt a lot of the pain from the other side before haha. Altho people talking about their DMs being significantly more optimistic when reporting to higher ups was quite a shock, out of the things spoken about this was something I’ve never encountered. :))
DM away day for our programme - With two guest speakers and some group work this was a packed day that I think was quite effective in re-energising most attendees… It was definitely useful to have the time to talk about community things and agree actions for the next couple of months, and between setting up a survey to collect learning/skills/observation needs and writing up a thing about how I do health checks (including examples from a couple of other people) I definitely have new found energy to do things. \m/ But also, an ever-increasing antipathy towards the word ‘playbook’....

Making
My pottery class restarted!! \o/ With two out of 8 classes done I have an easter bowl ready for bisque and underglazes and half a teapot complete. The pace is pretty slow and all the techniques explained as quite a few people are brand new to pottery so my expectation of it building directly on the Beginners class is not fully realised. I’m in two minds about it because it’s nice and relaxing, but on the other hand a lot of the time is spent on things like I feel like I’ve got covered, especially considering I’ve done several drop-ins.
Speaking of drop-ins, my nerikomi plant pot is also just waiting for glazing and firing. I had a mishap with some paper stuck in it so fingers crossed and prayers for it not exploding. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I also went to a different class, to explore making plaster moulds and using slip. I will make a separate review after part 2 in a couple of weeks but overall I was amazed by how easy it was. If I can find some place to work with casts and slip more (my studio’s current drop-ins don’t really have it available), I definitely will.
With this, my drop-ins are all used up and I think I will not be buying more before March considering all my other crafting commitments. 😅
On Friday evening I went to the first out of five classes about laser cut jewellery. It's much easier than expected, with most difficulties being Windows and trackpad related haha. I've got to see if there's adecent vector drawign app for iPad.
Eating
I’m trying to eat less meat this year. Giving it up entirely is unrealistic (I went to Berenjak and oh my god the chicken was so good) but exploring more veggie options is so far very fun - even if it’s just ordering tofu version of drunken noodles from Rosa’s. ;)
Last 2 weeks highlights:
Unity Diner - 2nd try, still so so good! I realised I’ve only had chicken approximates but one of my friends ordered the ‘lobster’ mac’n’cheese which was similarly uncanny in texture, and another the ‘tofish’ and both were very happy with their choices. I’ll probably go back very soon.
What the Pitta - entirely incidental trip after I got annoyed with either of the Prets by the office not stocking the new NODuja range or Jambon-buerre (sssh!). The wrap was very tasty, massive, and ready pretty much immediately so this is a perfect place for lunch.
Holy Cow! - a Friday night delivery order, inc their take on black daal.  Honestly not too impressed, will go for veggie options from usual Indian takeouts in the future. :(
Looking
New Black Vanguard (tbqh the Bitter Nostalgia room with collabs by Hyangmok Baik and Adébayo Bolaji was my favourite thing in Saatchi that day tho)

How to consult the Top specialists - online doctor consultation
Consulting a doctor online has gone from a rarity to a regular phenomenon. People in non-emergency medical situations would rather sit in the convenience of their home than visit a doctor in person. In rural areas, one has to travel long distances to visit a good doctor. Online consultation has become a necessity for such situations.
Tumblr media
Benefits of a specialist virtual doctor consultation
Medical specialists are doctors who have completed their advanced training and education in a particular area of medicine. Patients usually need a letter of referral from a general physician to get an appointment with a specialist. General physicians send their patients to specialists if they feel that they need specific care or treatment from a professional in a particular field.
However, they can directly approach a specialist if they understand their symptoms and figure out the right specialist for their medical needs.
Visiting a specialist is important because they are experienced in exactly the kind of ailment that affects a patient. They have been treating such ailments for a long time and know the course that the diagnosis and the treatment should take. All in all, you will get better faster when you are with a specialist because the treatment is more focused and targeted. Also, the doctor has been handling cases like yours for years before you came for an online consultation.
How to get an online doctor consultation from a specialist
The process of getting an online consultation from a specialist is easier than you think. Here are the steps that you need to follow.
1. Choose an app for the virtual doctor consultation
The first thing you need to do is choose an app that gets you the names and appointment details of all the specialists in your area. For this, you can rely on the Bajaj FinServ Health app. This app is a one-stop destination for all your healthcare needs, right from virtual and in-person doctor appointments, medicine delivery, to booking lab tests, and more. So, your first step is to get this app on your phone.
2. Register yourself and start looking at the options
The next step is to register yourself on that platform. You will not have to do much for that. Put your name and other details on the form that comes up to complete the process. Your next job is to search for the right specialist for your ailments. You will find hundreds of options for any specialization. Thus, narrow down the list based on your location, doctor’s experience, and so on.
3. Choose a slot for the appointment at your convenience
You will find appointment slots on the app for any specialist you select. Choose the appointment slot that feels the most comfortable to you as per your daily routine. After this, you can book the appointment as per your selected slot.
4. Pay the fees and get ready for the appointment
Finally, you can pay the fees and sit in front of your screen at the appointed date and time for the consultation. Make sure that you do not get late because the doctor’s time is as precious as yours. Check your internet connection and make sure it is stable so that there are no glitches in the middle of your online doctor consultation.
Things to remember before getting an online consultation
When you sit down for an online consultation, make sure that you have all your reports and documents near at hand. You would not want to get up and start looking for documents in the middle of a session because that wastes valuable time.
Also, do not be late – if you are supposed to connect at 8:30 pm., do not make that 8:40 or 8:45 because you were busy doing something. Remember that you are taking away from the time of other patients by being late.
The end note
An online consultation from a specialist is a necessity nowadays. So, it is time to download the app and shift to virtual care.

Hiatus Announcement
Tumblr media
Trust me, this isn’t an easy post to make, especially with my birthday being tomorrow.
But honestly? I really need to take a mental healthcheck. This means I’m gonna be on Hiatus for all of my blogs.
Several knit-picky things have been happening to me all month, and I’m tired of being stressed out over the littlest things. A false event on my Pokeblog, hurting my wrist (while cleaning of all things), and other minor life-kicking-me-while-I’m-down things have all piled up and has made June a living nightmare.
With such, I am taking a break from Tumblr until the beginning of August. I’m turning off asks until then, turning off my activity, and just letting my brain turn off from roleplay and this hellsite for a while.
I will be back in August, if I think I have the mental wherewithal to stick around.
