1st post

So first post here. It's my offseason for work and have been going stir crazy. My wife has finally told me I need a hobby. So this is what I came up with.

 Naturally, I am a quiet person. More of a listener and I don't really like the spotlight on me. However, anyone that reads my post won't know it's me so I am okay with this. I wanted to do this without my name involved because like I said I'm naturally not about being me me me. Anyone can read my thoughts and think “hey I've thought about that” or maybe it will make you wonder and expand your thought process. Or maybe you will read my thoughts and think I have no idea what I'm talking about. Either way, I'm okay with that. so here we go let's get at it.

Tonight after a crazy day I'm sitting on the computer watching the 49ers game, watching videos on bourbon and drinking Henry Mckenna Single barrel-aged 10yr.

 Last night my daughter did not sleep well so my wife stayed up most of the night. I mistakenly took sleeping medicine so I struggled every time to stay up with her. But she pushed on and was a super mom, of course, last night madness went on and continued today. Our daughter was up and down. stuffy nose, mucus all over the place. I'm talking about straight miserable. but as the day winded down she was doing much better. But with all of the craziness today a glass of wine for mom and a couple glasses of bourbon for dad it leads us to right now. 

Back to the bourbon. A glass of Henry McKenna single barrel. First time drinking this bourbon. Of course, coming from Heaven hill I was very excited when I got this bottle. When I was getting really heavy into bourbon collecting Mckenna 10 had just won whiskey of the year. I searched everywhere for a bottle and I ended up finding just 1 bottle in a mom and pop liquor store in the sticks of West Virginia. $29.99 was the price I automatically bought it and threw it in my cabinet. Months later I have finally opened it and am currently enjoying a glass, exactly what should be done. Collecting bourbon is such a fun thing to do but it's not like pokemon cards where you get a rare card and just hold onto it. Bourbon needs to be opened and enjoyed. So tonight being Memorial day I raise a glass for all the veterans living and passed. Have a great night everyone.

Back before the days of carefully crafted #whiskey and #Bourbon made by some of the finest palates in the world, consumers couldn’t always be sure what was pouring out of their Bourbon bottles. Then came the Bottled-in-Bond Act. In 1897, the US government passed this law with support from distillers and drinkers alike to ensure consistency and quality. Popularized by brands like Old Fitz, #HeavenHill, and #EHTaylor, the Bottled-in-Bond act was created in part by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. The founder of Old Taylor Bourbon and the builder of the Old Taylor Distillery (now Castle & Key), he advocated tax incentives for participating distillers for their cooperation with Treasury agents patrolling the federally bonded warehouses. Every bottle of E.H. Taylor Small Batch sold today still bears the bottled-in-bond statement.
