I just saw on pintrest about Ninjago that said "When there's a Halloween special but no Christmas special" is because Halloween is just a fun holiday while Christmas is a Christian holiday. The writers of Ninjago probably didn't want to make it religious since it's for everyone and some people aren't Christian or even religious at all (and that's all totally fine!)
