2025 - Week 2
This week left me tired, as I did my best to catch up with my MBA lectures, and the boot camp projects (only 3 left);
I started a new book and an audiobook, bought a few things I needed and used our exercise bike a lot (yay).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although I did a lot, my to-do list remains huge, I promised myself I would find time to write more articles for the learning platform I assign to, and will use their English classes to improve my skills for IELTS (spoiler: I did not this week).
Well, is a new week, so I will organize everything to distribute my tasks in a way that help me to tackle all of them.

Balancing Work, Life, and MBA Preparation: Time Management Tricks from an IMI-Kolkata Student
Handling several tasks at once can be risky; one mistake can cause everything to fall apart. Being an MBA student at IMI-Kolkata, I’ve gradually learnt that the only way to ace is to master the art of time management. Let’s look into a few tips on how you can negotiate for that perfect balance and still succeed to enjoy your life!
1. Prioritizing all The Way : Start with a to-do list – the absolute non-negotiables in the beginning. Focus on what matters most at that very moment. It might be completing an assignment or preparing for the interview; prioritize proficiently and everything else will fall into place!
2. Welcome Time Blocks : After Prioritizing, start setting specific time blocks for different activities: study, work, and also self-care. If you’ve planned to dedicate two hours of deep study for your MBA preparation- stick to the timer and do it. If you want an evening jog to clear your mind - you should go for it. Stick to your schedule and respect it - This will help you complete a number of tasks throughout the day!
3. Breaks are mandatory :  Burnout can be real, and believe me, it slows you down like none. Take breaks in between.  Do what you need to do to refresh your mind-it might be a 15-minute scroll on your phone or a quick walk. You'll return refreshed and even more productive.
4. Grasp Technology smartly : Use tools like Trello, Google Calendar, or Pomodoro timers to keep track of your tasks and your deadlines. Automate where you can, but alongside you must also know when to stop!
5. Flexibility is the Key – Life Happens : A perfectly planned day might not turn out as planned– and honestly that’s okay! The key is to stay adaptable and not to be unnecessarily harsh on yourself when things don’t go as planned.
As I live the dynamic world of an MBA student at International Management Institute,Kolkata, these strategies have become my non-negotiables. Achieving balance with little planning, flexibility, and, most importantly, giving yourself credit is the way to go!

The Truth About OGS Capital Review’s Business Plans
In today’s competitive entrepreneurial landscape, having a well-structured business plan is crucial for securing investments, obtaining loans, and navigating strategic growth. One of the prominent players in the field of professional business planning is OGS Capital, a global consultancy that has carved out a niche by helping startups and established businesses develop high-quality, investor-ready business plans.
This review will explore OGS Capital’s services, reputation, pricing, strengths, and potential drawbacks to help you decide whether it’s the right partner for your business planning needs.
What is OGS Capital?
Founded over a decade ago, OGS Capital Review offers customized business planning, financial modeling, and consulting services to entrepreneurs, small businesses, and large enterprises across the globe. With a team of consultants who come from top-tier backgrounds in investment banking, business development, and corporate finance, the firm claims to have helped raise over $2.4 billion in funding for clients worldwide.
OGS Capital’s core services include:
Business plan writing
Investor pitch decks
Market research
Financial forecasting and modeling
Strategic business consulting
Franchise business plans
Immigration visa business plans (e.g., EB-5, E-2, L-1)
Their clientele spans multiple industries including technology, healthcare, food services, retail, manufacturing, and real estate.
Key Strengths of OGS Capital
1. Tailored Business Plans One of the main selling points of OGS Capital is its customized approach. Unlike generic templates or AI-generated business plans, OGS Capital assigns experienced consultants to each project who develop a plan based on the client’s specific goals, industry, and funding requirements. This tailored approach is particularly appealing to entrepreneurs seeking investor-ready documents that stand out in a crowded marketplace.
2. Experienced Team The team at OGS Capital is composed of MBA-level professionals, many of whom have backgrounds in investment banking, venture capital, and Fortune 500 strategy departments. Clients often highlight the strategic insight the team provides, beyond just writing or formatting a business plan.
3. Impressive Track Record OGS Capital claims to have served over 5,000 clients in more than 50 countries. Many clients report securing funding or receiving positive feedback from investors, thanks to the business plans and pitch decks created by OGS Capital. This lends credibility to their claim of being one of the top-tier business planning consultancies.
4. Diverse Industry Coverage From agriculture and SaaS startups to fintech and biotech ventures, OGSCapital has showcased versatility by working with clients from a wide range of industries. Their ability to adapt their style and financial models to different sectors is a clear advantage.
5. Support for Immigration Business Plans OGS Capital is also known for its immigration-focused business plans for visa applications such as E-2, L-1, and EB-5. These specialized plans require knowledge of both business planning and immigration law, and clients pursuing these visas often cite OGS Capital as a knowledgeable and efficient partner.
Areas for Improvement
While OGS Capital generally enjoys a strong reputation, no service is without its drawbacks. Here are a few areas where some clients believe improvements could be made:
1. Cost OGS Capital’s services are premium-priced. While they do not publicly list fixed rates (each project is custom-quoted), many clients report prices ranging from $1,500 to over $10,000 depending on complexity and deliverables. For early-stage startups or solopreneurs on tight budgets, this could be a significant barrier.
2. Turnaround Time Although the company is known for quality, some clients have noted that turnaround times can stretch longer than expected, especially for more complex plans. Rush services are available, but they come at an additional cost.
3. Revisions Policy While revisions are included, some clients have reported limitations in the number or depth of revisions allowed within the base package. This can be a point of friction for businesses that expect ongoing collaboration.
What Clients Are Saying
Online reviews and testimonials for OGS Capital are generally positive. On platforms like Trustpilot, Google Reviews, and personal blogs, clients commend the team’s professionalism, responsiveness, and the quality of deliverables. Many report positive outcomes such as successful funding rounds, visa approvals, or improved strategic clarity.
However, it’s always wise to do due diligence. As with any consultancy, results can vary based on the consultant assigned and the complexity of the project. Prospective clients are encouraged to ask for sample work, discuss timelines, and get a clear agreement on deliverables before proceeding.
Final Verdict
OGS Capital is a solid choice for entrepreneurs and businesses seeking high-quality, custom business planning and consulting services. Their team’s depth of expertise, combined with a global footprint and a broad industry portfolio, makes them a reliable partner for strategic business planning.
That said, the premium pricing and turnaround times may not suit every business, particularly startups in their earliest stages or those with extremely tight deadlines. For businesses serious about raising capital, applying for business immigration visas, or pursuing structured growth strategies, OGS Capital offers a level of strategic and financial rigor that is hard to match in the marketplace.
In conclusion, if you are looking for more than just a document and want a true strategic partner in your business journey, OGS Capital is well worth considering. Just be sure to align your budget, timelines, and expectations before getting started.

Evaluation of a Patient Education Tool Patient education is an essential component in the provision of information services in many hospitals and health organizations. Many hospitals and health organizations author, review and approve the patient information for use within their institution and make this information digitally accessible. Patient education activities focus on the educational and information needs of the patient and is used by health care professionals to provide patient care support. This paper will discuss patient handouts as a patient education tool and particularly the heart attack handout listed under the diseases and conditions handouts. This is an example of a patient education handout useful to nurses and other health care professionals. The source of the patient education handout is the PERC (Patient Education Reference Center) from EBSCO publishing. The heart attack patient handout is an online tutorial suitable for the educational needs of all people (Freda, 2002). The heart attack patient handout has been designed into several sections and sub-sections with each of the sections presenting clear and concise content about heart attacks. The handout presents the definition of a heart attack, causes, risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. These sections and the relevant sub-sections are well explained in a brief and easy to understand format. The handout is appropriate for adults in general including heart attack patients, nurses and other health care professionals and any other person seeking preventive measures for heart attacks.   OR Self-Evaluation Essay   I have been searching for a reputable to do my MBA. For this purpose I went through websites and saw curriculums attached to their MBA programs. I read about the MBA program from the university website and further asked friends and acquaintances about it. The scope of professional career and requirements of practical working experience require higher qualification. I want to pursue this degree in order to answer the practical requirements of businesses these days. This is the right time for MBA as I am currently working and MBA concepts and theories may help in enhancing my practical application of the learnt concepts. I personally believe that time management will be the biggest challenge during this course. The balance between family life, work and academic area will be a difficult thing to do. Proper planning and following those plans are helpful in maintaining good balance between these 3 crucial areas of a person's life. I intend to properly distribute time and following my plans to achieve my goal of attaining this degree. The concept of diversity and globalization are not new for anyone today. I have faced diversity in the workplaces and I am familiar with the barriers that people face. I have always been a rational person and avoid discrimination at all instances. I will contribute to the diversified learning environment by keeping my decisions, work and relationships balanced with everyone and by encouraging teamwork. I work as a leader to a group of 8 employees. I personally believe that I lack management skills and leadership traits which are important for my job. Education undoubtedly helps us in gaining better designation. This MBA program will be helpful in gaining reputation in the work field, promotion by application of modern concepts and better job performance. I have a goal to become the head of the department in my workplace. I lacked the master's degree which is the requirement of that position. I need good management skills and need to be knowledgeable in order to work at the top level management. My team working abilities are efficient as I have been working in the team as a leader in my professional career. I have the experience of assigning jobs to different persons as per their interest and skills. I manage the team by properly communicating the goals and tasks. I motivate the team members and have convincing skills which are effective in dealing with the conflicts in teams. Diversity, communication and technological advancements are the three important and most controversial issues in today's business environment. My post-secondary grades properly reflect my abilities and performance. I have put the best efforts that I could to make it up to this level. I intend to show good performance in the future as well in my academic field.   Read the full article

Skills Needed to Successfully Complete the MBA Program When an individual applies for admission to an MBA program, there is, at the outset, the assumption that the applicant has the intellectual ability and maturity, plus the motivation, the time and the discipline to be able to complete the out-of-class work as assigned. And, too, the individual must possess the "big picture" vision of how the future will be positively impacted by completion of the courses and requirements. Meantime, there are several key questions that need to be addressed by the applicant. "How do I expect to be successful in an MBA Program?" is a prime question, and my answer is, I will address all questions as to the MBA program's requirements, and answer them honestly, as a first step towards success in this MBA program. Another pivotal question is, what skills, experiences and attributes will the individual bring to the MBA program in question, that will help the person achieve the stated goal of achieving the MBA diploma? Another question is important: what level of effort and what specific abilities does one need to reach the goal of an MBA? According to Inside Yahoo Education, which provides information from Kaplan Test Prep, 2004, there are certain basic quantitative skills that may well be necessary: some MBA programs require experience in the study of statistics, algebra, and calculus; others ask for less mathematics knowledge and are in fact "moving away from the analytical approaches" of a few years ago. Still, one should expect to be comfortable with -- and have hands-on experience in -- general fields of mathematics. Once enrolled in an MBA program, it will be necessary for a student to have the aptitude and appetite for the following disciplines: accounting, finance, organizational behavior, marketing, statistics, and organization, the Yahoo article explains. One also must be technologically adroit, and have a comfort level with computers and all digital technology. "Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases" are areas of computer technology that an MBA student must have polished, working skills in, the Yahoo article points out. Further, it is a well-known fact today that many corporations use the concept of "teambuilding" in their management structure, and hence, MBA programs "have converted an increased share of course work from individual work to team work," according to the Yahoo article. One must have good interpersonal skills to team up with colleagues and classmates -- and that is clearly a pivotal attribute within the MBA genre. Meanwhile, according to an in-depth survey of employers conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council ("Employer Assessment of MBA Students" 2004), some of the most important attributes that a person completing an MBA should possess include: a) "strong communication/interpersonal skills"; b) "proven ability to perform"; c) "cultural fit with company"; d) "evidence of adaptability"; e) "quantitative knowledge" and "technical skills acquired in MBA program"; f) "management knowledge/skills acquired in MBA program"; also listed by employers as fundamentally important is a prior work record that is positive and a "history of increased job responsibility." In that survey, employers in the field of "Health Care and Pharmaceutical" were queried as to the "Top Five Skills That Are Attractive in MBA Graduates." Since my concentration is Healthcare Management, this portion of the survey is of keen interest. Those top five skills, which I believe I possess, include: 1) "ability to think analytically"; 2) "ability to think strategically"; 3) "leadership skills"; 4) "oral communication skills"; 5) and "interpersonal skills." Moreover, among the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical skills that employers in this survey believe should "be strengthened" through MBA programs, are: "ability to make decisions with imperfect information"; "ability to think strategically"; and "written communication skills." In conclusion, I wish to address another question which was posed for this essay, "What are your concerns about your ability to be successful in an MBA program?" My concerns are related to how high I can go in my MBA program scholastic achievement -- to what level of excellence I will achieve -- not whether or not I can succeed. I already have a positive track record in success and achievement in all jobs and responsibilities I have embraced, and I am confident in my ability to do well academically. For example, I am presently a respected medical education research specialist for Optima Education Solutions in Chicago. My duties include project management, design, development and production of adult clinical education programs, healthcare marketing, metical writing and editing, relationship-building, development of marketing programs and more. In my previous position -- Territory Manager & Sr. Professional Sales Rep. / Medical Center Rep. -- with Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, I won numerous awards for my work. I achieved a 90% prescription market growth for our produce, Plavis; I also was able to engineer a 40% prescription market growth for Avapro/Avalide -- plus, a 103% increase in unit sales for Hyalgan, among other successes. In the Web site www.MBA.com, alumni from the Graduate Management Admission Council listed the three "most important" MBA skills they use on the job, and I believe I have already proven, through my career experience, that I have proficiency in all three; they are, 1) "the ability to integrate information"; 2) "the ability to think analytically"; and 3) "interpersonal skills." After clearing the SNAP test, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the Group Exercise (GE). This stage is designed to test your teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills. You may be assigned tasks like case discussions, group problem-solving activities, or creative exercises that assess how well you collaborate with others and approach challenges.
Tips to Succeed in GE:
Be an active but not overbearing participant in group discussions.
Listen attentively to others and contribute meaningful insights to the conversation.
Exhibit leadership by helping steer the group toward a common goal without dominating the discussion.
Personal Interview (PI): Showcasing Your Personality and Ambitions

During this stage, the interview panel will assess your personality, academic background, work experience (if applicable), and career goals. They want to understand how well you fit the culture and expectations of SIBM Bengaluru and how the MBA program aligns with your career trajectory.
Preparation Tips for PI:
Be prepared to answer common questions such as “Why MBA?” and “Why SIBM Bengaluru?”
Stay updated on current affairs, business trends, and industry developments relevant to your chosen specialization.
Reflect on your personal experiences, achievements, and long-term goals, and be ready to discuss them confidently.
Written Ability Test (WAT): Assessing Analytical and Writing Skills
The Written Ability Test (WAT) evaluates your critical thinking and written communication skills. In this test, candidates are given a topic (often related to current affairs or business issues) and must write a well-structured essay within a limited time frame.
How to Ace WAT:
Practice writing concise, coherent essays on a variety of topics to enhance your writing speed and clarity.
Ensure that your essay has a clear argument, supported by relevant examples or evidence.
Avoid grammatical errors and maintain a formal, professional tone.
Final Merit List: Comprehensive Evaluation
Once the GE, PI, and WAT rounds are completed, the final selection is based on your overall performance in all stages. The SNAP score carries significant weight (50%), followed by the Personal Interview (30%), Group Exercise (10%), and Written Ability Test (10%).
Only candidates with an impressive overall performance will secure a place at SIBM Bengaluru.
Conclusion
Getting into SIBM Bengaluru is a competitive and comprehensive process. It requires not only academic excellence through the SNAP exam but also well-rounded soft skills and personality traits showcased in the GE, PI, and WAT stages. To increase your chances of success, focus on strong preparation for each phase, stay updated on current events, and practice clear and confident communication. This guide to the SIBM Bengaluru selection criteria will help you navigate the process effectively and achieve your goal of earning an MBA from one of India’s top business schools.

7 Proven Strategies to Help Write Analytical Essays in Finance
For students seeking an MBA, a business degree, or a finance degree, writing analytical essays is an essential skill. In addition to a deep comprehension of the subject, these essays require the capacity to assess and analyze intricate financial models, data, and theories. For analytical essays, students must dissect a topic, evaluate the available information, and draw well-supported conclusions. This is in contrast to descriptive essays, which only list the facts.
Tumblr media
What is an Analytical Essay?
Analytical essays involve conducting research on a certain topic, interpret it, and present the results based on critical analysis. Most of the analytical essay tasks in finance are based on topics such as financial markets, economic trends, corporate strategies, or policy implications. Some common topics might include:
Analyzing the impact of monetary policy on the stock market
Evaluating the financial performance of a multinational corporation using ratio analysis
Investigating the effects of quantitative easing on inflation rates
These essays are assigned by teachers to foster critical thinking abilities in students, improve their understanding of financial concepts and make them prepared for taking real life financial decisions. These tasks are critical for the students to understand the practical aspects of business such as analysing the financial statements, understanding the economic data and connecting theoretical knowledge with practical solutions.
Common Challenges Students Face
At times writing analytical finance essays prove to be quite problematic. Students frequently face difficulties with choosing the right model or framework for their analysis, handling large amounts of financial data or organizing their thoughts and structuring their arguments. Furthermore, some questions or analysis performed in finance courses can be rather intricate, demanding update to date information requiring students to stay updated with recent policy changes, financial regulations, market condition and financial theories.
For many, seeking finance essay help can open up new avenues of understanding. Working with a tutor or using professional help enables students to get more understanding of the context, implement effective strategies for structuring the argument, and receive feedback on the analysis and interpretation.
To help students excel in writing their finance analytical essays, here are seven proven strategies to consider:
Strategies to Write Analytical Essays in Finance
1. Understand the Assignment Requirements Thoroughly
It's critical to understand all essay requirements clearly before beginning any research or writing. Instructors provide clear instructions about the parameters of the analysis, important theories to concentrate on, or financial models you should apply. A common mistake made by students is to skip small but important instructions or misunderstand the rubric.
Example: If the instructions ask to analyze a company’s financial performance based on its ratio analysis, make sure you provide the necessary information on profitability, solvency, and liquidity ratios rather than describing the company’s marketing strategies.
Actionable Tip: Break down the essay question into smaller tasks. For example, highlight key words such as "analyze," "evaluate," or "compare" to know whether you need to explain a concept or critically assess it.
Resource: Refer to online platforms like Purdue OWL for guidance on interpreting assignment prompts and structuring essays.
2. Choose a Robust Analytical Framework
An analytical essay in finance majorly revolves around certain key financial models or theories. Selecting an appropriate framework is crucial because it defines the research scope and the comprehensiveness of analysis. Some common frameworks include:
SWOT analysis for evaluating company performance
PEST analysis for assessing macroeconomic factors
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) for valuing a company
Ratio analysis for financial statement evaluation
By establishing your arguments with established methodologies, using these frameworks lends credibility to your analysis.
Example: In an essay about a company’s financial health, ratio analysis (such as current ratios, debt-to-equity ratios, and return on assets) would provide a concrete foundation for your argument.
Actionable Tip: One should always state which framework they are using at the beginning of an essay to lessen the confusion of the reader.
Resource: Textbooks like “Principles of Corporate Finance” by Brealey, Myers, and Allen are invaluable for understanding these frameworks in depth.
3. Conduct Thorough Research
A quality analytical essay is always supported by quality research work. Collect sources from peer-reviewed journals, known financial platforms, textbooks, and using platforms like Bloomberg or Reuters. In finance, information is considered to be the critical asset and needs to be accurate and up-to-date as per the changing market dynamics.
Example: You should include recent changes in the Federal Reserve's policy and their impact on corporate bond markets in your essay about how interest rates affect corporate borrowing.
Actionable Tip: Sort the references in terms of their relevance to different sections of your essay (e.g., market data, theoretical frameworks, historical context).
Resource: Access financial databases like Yahoo Finance or Morningstar for real-time market data and historical trends.
4. Use Data Effectively
Analytical essays always revolve around data and a good essay constitutes data driven analysis and decision making. A good essay must include the interpretation of financial data to support your arguments. Retrieve all information correctly and present the data in an easily understandable formats such as plots, graphs and tables.
Example: When analyzing a company’s financial performance, you could use historical stock prices, profit margins, or earnings reports to substantiate your analysis.
Actionable Tip: Use Excel or Google Sheets to create graphs that visualize financial trends or relationships between variables. These visual graphics help clarify complex data for your readers.
Resource: Investopedia’s Excel Tutorials are useful for learning how to visualize financial data effectively.
5. Craft a Clear and Cohesive Argument
An analytical essay is about presenting a clear argument that is supported by evidence. Do not present data just for the sake of presenting it; every information presented must support your thesis statement.
Example: If your thesis argues that a company’s high debt-to-equity ratio makes it a risky investment, every piece of data—whether from its balance sheet or market conditions—should support this conclusion.
Actionable Tip: After writing each paragraph, ask yourself, "How does this support my thesis?" If it doesn’t, consider revising or removing it.
Resource: The book “The Elements of Style” by Strunk and White can be helpful for improving the clarity and flow of your writing.
6. Ensure Financial Theories and Concepts are Well-Explained
One common misconception that many students have is assuming that their audience is aware of all the financial terms or models being used. Your professor being the evaluator of your essay must know the concepts and methods, but he expects you to explain the concepts to assess your comprehension.
Example: If your essay relies on the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), briefly explain its assumptions and relevance to the argument before applying it.
Actionable Tip: Use simple language to break down complex terms without being overly simplistic. Avoid jargon unless it’s necessary, and define key terms when introducing them.
Resource: Websites like Finance Helpdesk offer free content on financial concepts that can help clarify difficult topics. You can also avail its finance essay help services to improve on your essay writing skills.
7. Revise and Edit for Precision
Finally, any kind of essay must be reviewed, revised and corrected before it is to be submitted. Analytical essays in finance should not only be data-driven, but it must also show all the calculations performed with simple explanation and structure. Make sure that there are no grammatical mistakes, data is correct and arguments presented in a logical manner.
Example: Look for inconsistencies, such as presenting conflicting pieces of data or contradicting your argument with irrelevant information.
Actionable Tip: Read your essay out loud to catch awkward phrasing or unclear arguments. If possible, have a peer or tutor review your work for clarity and coherence.
Resource: Tools like Grammarly can be useful for editing and ensuring that your writing is clear and concise.
