A solid rescue reached out today telling me they’re considering pulling this dog from North. However, it is a question of finances and pledges… Because the dog is living in the back… I’ve never met the dog personally. Nor do I know anything about the dog as there are no notes in the system that I can see. I’m just relaying a message about a dog from a legit rescue that’s at a shelter I volunteer at. Read the full article. So heartbreaking.Anniston appearance shocked rescuers and doctors. We are in SHOCK and can not believe what we are seeing with our own two eyes. Our partners Second Chance Rescue NYC were just contacted by a rural shelter about a 4-month-old male puppy who was just picked up by one of their officers. Called in as a stray dog, nothing could prepare the officer for what he was about to find. This puppy's eyes are swollen, his skin is oozing and dripping with blood. His ears, feet, and legs are swollen from so much infection. The pain he is experiencing is obvious in the way he cries when he is touched. This broke our hearts. This baby's condition did not develop overnight. Which means some heartless person watched him deteriorate over time, watched his skin swell with infection, and become more and more lethargic. SCR NYC have named him Anniston and can not allow him to waste away. We imagine Anniston gave what he had left of himself, as weak as he is, to escape this life of torture to find his happiness. We need to give Anniston the happy ending he fought for! Anniston has a long road and as always we cannot do these rescues without your support. Please help Anniston get the care he needs. We don't know what lies ahead for Anniston, but we do know he has a long road to recovery .. if recovery is possible. ///@tomkiesche: Penny was great in the yard. I met her and showed her to a couple. She needs a little bit of leash training. And a little bit of mouth manners. But she corrected brilliantly. Just a little bit of instruction and she was walking well on the leash. She sat. Took treats gentle. She will be great. Perfect candidate for that free training up in Mission Hills. Wasn’t able to videotape her while showing her. As I am focused on the adopters and dog.

I understand why they’re in the back… no external space, major, medical, or high, FAS… I just wish that rescues and the public could see them easier, and the volunteers could work with them without so many hoops... Some dogs have notes others do not. Some are able to be taken out by volunteers with permission, and or an escort... Others are not. In my personal opinion, the important thing is, getting dog that are available for adoption, foster, or rescue seen and exercised.
