Hey guys, I’m Sarah. This is my newest character, Sebastian. I’m still getting to know him, but he’s damn loud so I doubt that’s going to take long at all. I live very close to Hermosa so if anyone has any questions about the area let me know! Anyway, that’s enough about me, here is Sebastian:

Sebastian was born and raised in San Pedro, California. 

To say his family was poor would an understatement. They moved from apartment to apartment as he and his siblings were growing up. Luckily, despite money problems, their parents still gave the children the best life possible. 

Being the oldest, Sebastian took on most of the familial responsibility with his two younger siblings while their parents worked. 

In high school, he focused mainly on his education, knowing that if he wanted to go to college, he would need a scholarship on top of any financial aid. 

After graduating, he attended Harbor Community College and finally transferred to USC. 

There he met Catherine. They were inseparable, attending undergrad and then eventually grad school together. 

At 24, they got married and moved in together with Catherine's family in Hermosa.

They saved all their money and opened their own business while still in grad school. It was a simple concept but took off in ways they couldn't have possibly imagined. 

They owned it for less than five years before they were bought out by a bigger organization. 

If Sebastian had to pinpoint where their marriage started going wrong, it would be after they sold. At 29, they both still had massive plans for their lives; unfortunately, they wanted opposite things. Catherine was ready to start a family and Sebastian wanted adventure. 

Regardless of the warning signs, they bought a house in Hermosa Beach, spending almost all the money they had gotten from selling the business. It was Sebastian who'd wanted the house. Growing up, living in Hermosa or Manhattan was a status symbol. It was his only way to show that he had made it in life. 

Jobless and spending way too much time together, Catherine and Sebastian finally got to know the real versions of each other. 

The divorce happened after just six years of marriage and only one year after they bought the house. It was Sebastian's fault. He'd purposely taken a job that required him to travel both domestically and internationally which built a wall between the couple. The distance made him realize that he never wanted to be married in the first place and led to him making some of the worst mistakes of his life. 

Catherine was reasonable in the divorce. They divided everything 50/50 and Catherine moved out of the house with the request that Sebastian buys her half which required some financial maneuvering. 

So now at 35, Sebastian is living with two roommates, one of which is his brother, and the other a friend from college. Sebastian would be more bothered about that if he didn't spend all his time at work.

Random Facts:

Sebastian is a cyclist, regularly bikes from Hermosa to Santa Monica. His next goal is to make it to Malibu. 

He can't cook to save his life so he's no stranger to many of the restaurants on The Strand. He's a regular at Sharkeez; the staff knows him by name.

He likes people and likes being surrounded by people. When he is home for the weekend, he'll open up his home to most of the neighborhood offering beer and obnoxiously loud music. 

Wakes up at 5 every morning for a swim on the beach with the exception of when the weather is dangerous. 

His family has a mandatory dinner once a month that Sebastian is petrified to ever miss. 

He doesn't do all that well with kids.  Probably because he never fully grew up himself.

Hi! This is Valentina, but will go by Val for the most part. She’s 29 and is the CEO of a company that her parents started and passed down to her (currently unnamed because I’m figuring out her maiden last name still which will be the name of the company). Her parents started a fitness company before Val was born, giving her a more privilege life when they had her. She was the only child and was given everything she wanted. She went to a private school throughout her elementary to high school years.

vic was born and raised in venezuela. he remembers that his country was in turmoil, even back then. he grew up poor and didn’t mind it. it was all he knew. he remembers late dinners around his abuela’s table, football in the dirt streets, and how tightly knit his family was.

he saw how the wealthy in venezelua only got wealthier. the poor only seemed to get poorer. as he got older, it began to bother him. there was nothing wrong with the job is abuelo and father had, but it wasn’t for vic. he wasn’t really smart, but he was charming. he knew how to make the older women in his town smile and he could talk himself out of any situation. 

on a whim at the age of twenty, he went to an audition for a small part on a novela. it worked out for him. the casting director loved him and he got his first role. the entire life thrilled him. he loved being on set and learning lines. it only helped fuel his ego and womanizing ways. women were suddenly more interested in him and he knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. 

the next fifteen years were almost a blur. small parts turned into supporting roles and supporting roles turned into leading ones. he was professional on set and the public ate it up. he began to travel for work, taking jobs in mexico and eventually the united states. 

five years ago, victor made the decision to immigrate to the united states. he was famous in latin american countries, but he wanted something more. he knew he was a decent actor with a loyal fanbase. knowing he wasn’t getting any younger, he decided to try and make it in the states.

it’s been slow going the past five years. he works steadily, always playing a part in a new up and coming novela. since netflix partnered with spanish speaking content, vic has seen a boom in popularity again. a few of his novelas landing a spot on the streaming sight. rumor has it that he’s in talks for his own netflix show. 

eta: victor reyna is 6′4″. so he’s ridiculously tall. much taller than edgar irl. and also, vic is a closeted bisexual. he grew up in a homophobic environment, everything based on machismo. he’s gotten a lot better with it since he started acting and moving to the united states, but it’s still something he wants to keep from the public.

at youth, patrick expressed an affinity for playing the guitar and would always practice with it everyday.

( JON BERNTHAL + MALE ) — ELIJAH DAVIS is a FORTY + PERSONAL TRAINER who resides in EAST HERMOSA. HE has been living in Hermosa Beach for SIX YEARS. Those who know HIM say HE is LOYAL and INDUSTRIOUS on his good days, but can also be RESERVED and IMPULSIVE if you step on his toes.

sO, elijah was born in washington d.c and aged five, was introduced to his little sister whom he adores like nothing else. from the age of ten onwards, it was pretty much up to the children to raise themselves as their parents were always very busy, what with his father being a top notch psychiatrist, and mother a very successful lawyer. nevertheless though, it was a very loving and supportive household.

it was quite surprising when he came out of school with top grades, but it was thanks to the nurturing teachers he encountered throughout his years in high school. a little like his parents had growing up, elijah always knew exactly what it was he was going to do when he’d finished school – and that was join the army. in what precise capacity this would be wouldn’t be decided until he’d talked with a recruiting officer several times. ultimately, he decided to try to join the elite u.s army special forces.

he was successful and fell comfortably into his role as a special forces medical sergeant. eli quickly found that it was the perfect fit for him; he found comfort in the discipline the military offered, enjoyed his work and perhaps most importantly felt entirely at home amongst his fellow soldiers.

having excelled in his role for several years working in afghanistan, iraq and numerous other locations, elijah earned himself the chance to gain a promotion – which, naturally he took – to become a special forces senior sergeant working as a second command to the co. this also earned him the higher rank of sergeant major.

it was in his role as sergeant major that while out on operation in afghanistan in 2010, he was injured as a result of an ied leaving him with a moderate tbi and tinnitus. these injuries were sufficient, somewhat unfortunately from elijah’s point of view, to satisfy a medical discharge.

returning home was, needless to say, a difficult transition. from having a huge number of important responsibilities resting on him to so much free time that he couldn’t figure out what to do with, was an overwhelming experience. despite still living within the same city as his parents & sister, elijah withdrew almost entirely from them. it was during this time he was diagnosed with ptsd, and after receiving dearly needed therapy, came to the conclusion that a change of scenery might do him some good. so, in mid 2012 he moved to east hermosa and has been living there ever since.

mostly tends to keep to himself, but is always civil & polite. essentially the perfect gentleman, but less outgoing. loyal to a fault; something substantial has to be done to forgo his trust/loyalty, but if necessary he will call you out on your shit – especially if it’s for your own good. hella supportive… honestly no matter your age, will father the heck out of you. very caring & protective of others. stuck in his ways, stubborn as all hell and can come across as a little bit rough around the edges but in actuality is the softest teddy bear man you’ll ever meet. ever. works as a personal trainer, which ( slightly to his own surprise ) he’s starting to enjoy. it’s something to do, at least.

So about Rowan-

- Born in Dublin, father was Irish mob. Nevertheless, she had a very happy family, adored her mother and her dad did everything to provide for them. Fast forward five years and her mother dies of cancer, dad changes completely.

- All the sudden now her father is controlling and abusive and she's starting to show signs of serious problems, hiding from her peers at school, dealing with anxiety being around other people. She gets a little older, starts getting into fights, bounces around different schools, her father gets even stricter and harsher because she's not the perfect daughter he wants

- Things only get worse and when she's fifteen, he has her admitted to a psychiatric hospital. She refuses to work with the staff there, gets more violent, won't take her medication, won't talk to the therapist. She gets recommended to different facilities and bounces in and out of them until she's eighteen and can check herself out.

- She tries to regulate herself, but she's not a healthy person. She can't keep a job, spends more time at underground fights than doing anything productive. This is where she meets David and his son and decides she wants to be a part of their lives

- David tells her she can't be around his son unless she's got her shit together, so she starts taking medication again and actually talks to a psychiatrist. A year later, they move to America so David can be home. He starts cutting off contact with any of her friends and becomes more and more controlling. Eventually he becomes abusive, and after she knocks him out cold the first time he hits her, she doesn't fight back after that. The relationship lasts three years until he hits his son. She waits until he leaves for work and she calls CPS on him. She leaves before he gets home.

- Here, Rowan lives on the streets, 22 years old. She somehow winds up in Hermosa, at the women's shelter. She realizes she needs to get her shit together for herself and starts to work on herself. She gets a job, she saves up, she takes over ownership of the studio she works at.

- Now, Rowan has been in Hermosa for eight years. She doesn't have a lot of friends; she's very bad at personal relationships. She's still harsh and a little bitter, but she's better than she ever has been before

Sabrina was born in LA, into a very traditional family, the middle of three sisters. Her father was a police officer, and her mother a secretary. They divorced when she was seven years old, but kept an amicable relationship. 

Sabrina always acted as the steadying influence in her family. Her sisters, Amber and Brianna, both had fiery tempers, and she was the calmest of the three, a trait inherited from her father. 

As the most similar of her siblings to her father, Sabrina has always been more of a daddy’s girl, although she has always lived with her mother. 

Sabrina has always taken a keen interest in fashion, hair, and beauty, and developed her own personal style from a young age. After leaving high school, she made the choice to train as a hairdresser, and by the age of 21, was working in movie studios, styling hair for movies and TV shows. 

When Sabrina was 19, her mother began demonstrating behavioral changes that were originally attributed to depression. However, as other symptoms emerged, it became apparent that her mother was suffering from something physical as well as mental, resulting in the diagnosis of Huntington’s Disease. 

After their mother’s diagnosis, all three of the Cassidy siblings underwent genetic testing to determine whether or not they were at risk of developing Huntington’s. Of the three girls, only Sabrina tested negative for the gene. 

As her mother’s condition worsened, Sabrina, her mother, and her younger sister, Brianna, moved to Hermosa Beach so they could still be close to her mother’s doctors but take advantage of a quieter lifestyle than they could have in LA. 

She’s been in town for 5 years, over which time her mother’s condition has worsened extremely, and her younger sister has begun demonstrating the early signs of the disease. Sabrina acts as the sole provider for the family and cares for both of them. 

Due to her role as the carer in her family, and previously as the mediator, Sabrina can be a bit of a mom friend in her interactions with others. This doesn’t just extent to her capability to care for others, but she can also be controlling and overbearing towards them at times. She’s incredibly loyal, hard-working, and reliable, as well as perceptive when it comes to figuring out the motivations of others. While she is able to be totally protective over others, she can’t handle conflict when it relates to her personally, and is sensitive to even the slightest criticism. 

She now works in a small, local hair salon so has properly cut your characters hair at some point.

comes from a cute lil family in massachusetts. their household was all love and sunshine and rainbows and he grows up to be a soft boy.

his family isn’t financially well off by any means so he works dead end jobs throughout his adolescence to help out in any way he can.

studied really hard in hs so he could enroll in harvard. why harvard? bc then he’d get to go to school for free and didn’t have to feel like a burden for four years.

decides to study music because he falls in love with it at a young age and wants to spread the warmth it makes him feel.

graduates from college, decides that nantucket has nothing to offer him but doesn’t want to leave his parents. they urge him to go, to be his own person and flourish, and he finally does.

ends up in hermosa beach playing piano for a jazz lounge. it’s not quite the job he wanted, but a gig’s a gig.

kind of just enjoying his freedom, being a dumb 20-something and making poor decisions lmao

Full Name: George Andrew Henry Birthdate: March 18, 1991

George grew up in the coastal town of Rockport, Massachusetts with his parents and his younger sister, Anastasia. His mother was a bank teller, and his father was a fisherman. He had a decent relationship with his mother, nothing notably good or bad. His father, however, was a different story. Since his father was out on fishing trips constantly, George rarely saw him, and was never really able to create a strong bond with him. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of their problems.

Fishermen are known for being rugged, vulgar, and set in their old-fashioned ways, and George’s father was no different. His father’s stern, set-in-his-ways personality was always difficult for George to deal with. George, being the exact opposite of his father, never really understood his father’s mindset, and struggled throughout his childhood to find common ground with his father.

George wasn’t sure when he realized he liked men the way he also liked women. Perhaps he always knew, but he simply realized that it was not “normal.” And he never really struggled with the idea of being bisexual, although it did take him quite a bit of time to come out. The first person he told was his younger sister, who was 11 at the time, and could care less. Then he came out to a few friends, some were fine with it, others weren’t, but life went on. He told his mom when he went to college. She accepted him with open arms, but the night ended in a long conversation about whether George was going to tell his father. He decided he wouldn’t.

George knew his father wouldn’t understand, so he put off telling him. And George began resenting his father for bit. He slowly began realizing how little his father truly knew about him, and how little he bothered to learn. Yes, their relationship was never amazing, but this truly highlighted how far apart they actually were. And it only made their relationship worse. By the time he came out to his father his junior year of college, the two were barely speaking.

As expected, his father didn’t take the news well, refusing to even try to understand his son’s sexuality. In fact, the first thing his father said when George told him was “So you’re a fag?” After that day, George gave up even trying with his father. Today, he doesn’t remember the last time they spoke.

Growing up by the ocean in Rockport, George fell in love with sea life. He grew up watching the whales off shore on Stellwagon Bank, and collecting the shells along the beaches of Cape Ann. Eventually, his childhood fascination turned into an adulthood passion. He ended up betting a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from the University of Rhode Island, after which he moved to Hermosa to pursue a master’s degree.

Unfortunately, however, his pursuit was cut short during his first year when he was diagnosed with leukemia at age 24. He attempted to continue his schooling. After all, he did move all the way across the country for his, and he had just begun. But ultimately, treatment took too much time and energy, and he couldn’t do both. So he dropped out.

For the next eight months, George went through intensive cancer treatments. He was poked and prodded, and pumped full of drugs. He lost his hair and eyelashes, along with all the other hair on his body. He lost 20 pounds, making him look like a skeleton. But he did it. And 15 months after his diagnosis, George was in remission.

During this time, his sister moved to Hermosa, transferring to the local university, in order to be closer to him. His mother had hoped the whole thing would bring George and his father closer together, but it only made them drift further apart. His father struggled to be emotional and sympathetic in the situation, while George didn’t want his father to only be making amends because of the cancer.

After finishing his treatments, and taking some time to recover, George got a part-time job working at the local aquarium. It was during this time that he got back in touch with one of his old college friends, who was now working in the television industry. One night, after a few too many beers, his friend came up with a brilliant idea: George hosting a TV show about the ocean. “Dude, you could be the Steve Erwin of the ocean!” Were among some of his friend’s exact words. The conversation was full of jokes and hypotheticals, but that conversation eventually became The Ocean Explorer, with new episodes airing every Saturday morning on PBS. Every week, George gets to explore a new part of the ocean, and share it with the world, with his old college friend directing.

George currently lives with his younger sister, Ana in Hermosa Valley with his fish Charles and snail Nicola Tesla. Although his life is nowhere near where he intended it to be, he  is for the most part happy with it.

Around Hermosa, George is known for his excited tangents about sea life, and being a genuinely nice guy, although shy and awkward at times. However, despite his kind nature, George has a lot of trouble allowing himself to get very close to people ever since his diagnosis. He has plenty of friends, but he has a bad habit of keeping them at arms length, even those he considers his closest friends. His biggest fear is his cancer relapsing and hurting those he cares about again.

Heya! So I’m Alex and really there’s not much to say about me to be honest. I live in the GMT and right this moment I’m completely snowed in, so I’ll be online until you’ll get sick and tired of me!! OKAY but now to the most important part NICO! Under the read more I’ll put couple of facts about my boy.  It’s not much, I’ll probably write up his bio soon!  Nicholas ‘Nico’ Van Doren was born in New York City in 1983. 

His mom took care of him and his little sister after his dad walked out on them when he was 6.

 His mom actually worked like crazy and he ended up taking care of his little sister more often then not. 

When Nico was thirteen years old he actually became sick. At first his mom just believed it was the flu but he didn’t seem to be getting any better. In fact he was only getting worse and worse until his mom took him to the hospital. There he was diagnosed with Meningitis.

He was in the hospital for three weeks. Once he got home everything seemed to be going fine until one morning he woke up in complete silence. 

He had lost his hearing on both ears because of the illness. 

Since then he has learned to both use sign language and read lips but he tends to get quite annoyed after reading lips for too long tbh. 

When he got older he became fascinated with animals, especially service dogs and he’s been spending most of his adult life training service dogs. 

He actually has one of his own, Athena. She actually alerts him of any important sound he might miss. So wherever Nico is, there is Athena. 

Ummm I’m not sure what else to say tbh???? Well he’s actually gay and a complete sweetheart tbh.
