#hes confused by the difference between what he sees and what alhaitham says to him

kaveh seems to take words at face value...which explains why he is so easy so scam and why he would think alhaitham dislikes him (bc of how alhaitham teases him)
my evidence for this is: me too buddy

This js not a request or anything, I just wanted to tell someone about this😊
SLIGHT ARCHON QUEST SPOILERS!!
(i think, soryr☹️)
Fontaine would be SO good for mermaid aus
Like imagine a wrio x mermaid!reader where wrio saw the reader first from that window In his office or what💪
Even better if the reader gets sick or just fatigue from the primodial water
And the guy is like: 😱😭
And then boom he has a mermaid with him, In his own office🤯
⤀ cw: fem!reader, no pronouns mentioned ⤀ a/n: OMG OKAY I FINISHED THE AQ && UR SO RIGHT ! this gave me sm brainrot wah i had to write a litto smthg >.< but I can see him being pretty chill about it too… (sort of a spinoff to the alhaitham mermaid au I guess hehe)
perhaps every so often, wriothesley would get tiny glimpses of you in between those giant stalks of seagrass, but the moment passes by so quickly that he just brushes it off as nothing. probably just a bubbler seahorse that wandered into the area or something
‘eh whatever. as long as it doesn’t pose a threat—there are weirder things out there.’
when he has his first suspicions that primordial seawater might be leaking into the normal seawater, he takes it upon himself to personally check on the pipes and investigate. however, once he gets to the abandoned zone at the end, he finds... a washed up mermaid ?
hes honestly a little bit amused as to how you could've ended up here, and his initial instinct was to just toss you back into the sea. but it's not like you're some otter caught in a fisherman's net; you’re breathing so laboriously and feverish to the touch, on the verge of passing out… so he scoops you up and takes you to sigewinne. which is how when you finally come to, you find yourself in a tank in the duke of meropide's office
(some headcanons below the cut ! a little bit suggestive at the end ₍ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ₎ )
he introduces you to tea, but it’s so bitter ! perhaps mermaid tastes are more aligned with that of melusines because wriothesley basically short circuits when you tell him you prefer sigewinne’s milkshakes
in his attempts to sway you to his side, he’s scouring his collection left and right, brewing different teas that he hopes you might like
“alright, how about this one? it's light, with a hint of sweet flowers and bulle fruit."
"i still like sigewinne's milkshake better."
speaking of sigewinne, she definitely catches all the minuscule changes in wriothesley's facial expressions whenever he talks to you. and so of course she and her melusine friends start adding stickers of you onto his belongings too.
he takes them off to save face but stashes them away somewhere in his desk
once you've recovered enough, he'd help you out of the tank, and when your tail dries into human legs, he'd take you on a tour around the fortress as 'a friend from the overworld.'
however, you notice how everyone else addresses wriothesley with his title and you worry that maybe you've been too casual with someone so important?
so when you also start addressing him as 'your grace,' during afternoon tea in his office, he almost chokes on his own tea. you tilt your head in confusion because his cheeks are so flush and he can barely look you in the eye. it takes him a second to gather his composure
oh archons above it makes him want to do unspeakable things hearing you say that, so at least for now....
"please, just wriothesley is fine."

comma after dearest (genshin impact)
wherein (character) reacts a certain way to a grammar mistake you made in your letter (or was it?)
includes: kazuha, ayato, thoma, xiao, zhongli, alhaitham, kaveh, scaramouche
tags: a bit unserious writing, fluff, i am obssessed with "it changed the meaning, did you intend this?" forgive me, not proofread
a/n: not sure if anyone's done this before, but take it as my apology for not having written in a while (╥﹏╥) my fever + colds are killing me & i have a lot of scheduled things to do for school aaaa. maybe i can write this with other fandoms as well ? (and character x character ships hehe) .. enjoy !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kazuha notices it immediately. aside from all the work with the fleet, he spends time reading—or rereading—your letters. written messages aren't uncommon when he's at sea, but this letter was different. had you made a mistake with your punctuation? no, it can't be, you've always opened your letters with "my dearest kazuha".
he blinked at the words, now seeing a comma between the word 'dearest' and his name. as much as he was confused, he was flustered. if this wasn't a mistake, and that you intentionally called him your dearest, then it's a shame you can't see how absolutely smitten he is for you right now.
Tumblr media
ayato is busy going through papers and folders when he sees an envelope slide under his door. he chuckles as he reads his name in your writing, carefully picking it up and opening it. you have a habit of writing him letters and sliding it under his door while he works, which ayato finds very endearing.
when he reads "my dearest, ayato", his smile only widens more, finding new motivation to finish his assignments for the day so he can get to you as soon as possible. he knows how much effort you put into writing these short, yet loving, letters when he places this one on his (already full of other letters) pinboard.
Tumblr media
thoma takes a while to realize, but when he finally notices it, his heart rate increases by a concerning amount. he loves you so much to the point that when he reads "my dearest, thoma", there's hearts in his eyes. thoma's so much happier after reading your letter, and now he's doing everything smiling.
ayaka told him he looks brighter than usual today, and ayato even asked him if he received good news. of course, he was shy about this, but he told the kamisato siblings it was nothing to worry about. though, he continues to do his work with a little bounce in step.
Tumblr media
xiao denies it. he thinks he's read it wrong at first, but when he looks over at it again, it is confirmed that you did write him as your dearest. forgetting about the rest of the contents of the letter, xiao began to contemplate. an error like that was unlikely, especially since you're fond of writing.
the next time you meet, he has a hard time trying to bring up the topic. he knows you meant what you wrote, but he wants you to confirm it. when you tell him, "yes, i mean it." he tries to hold back a smile. keyword: tries.
Tumblr media
zhongli adores the salutation. or rather, he adores you. he appreciates the sweet, small detail you added in. zhongli hurriedly, yet carefully, writes you a letter back, addressing you as "my dearest, (y/n)" and replying to the contents you had in yours.
he never really indulged in using endearments, but ever since your letter, he's only even been calling you his 'dearest'. when greeting you, when asking for your attention, when talking about you, whenever. zhongli's never said it outloud, but you know he absolutely loves that nickname now.
Tumblr media
alhaitham is amused. he thinks you genuinely made a mistake in your letter, but doesn't address it until he returns to sumeru. when you see him again, he brings it up, expecting to be able to playfully taunt you about it. but he was so wrong.
"but you're my dearest. how is that wrong grammar?" you say, turning the situation around and teasing him instead. alhaitham wanted to tease you so much that he didn't bother to think of other possibilities. he's defeated, and all he can say is, "...i have no reply."
Tumblr media
kaveh doesn't know how to react to it. should he be flustered, or correcting you for the mistake? was it even a mistake? he does write you a letter back, but best believe he immediately asks you about it as soon as he comes back home. "did you intend this?" he says, showing you your letter.
when you nod your head, all the shyness and blush that should've came in before came in now. kaveh uses the folded letter to cover his smile, but it's too wide and too bright to even try to. when you tease him about it, he strongly denies having his heart race from it.
Tumblr media
scaramouche chooses to ignore it. he knows you wrote that punctuation on purpose, but he doesn't want show that he's thinking about it. this ultimately failed when he doesn't write you back, and you knew something was up with him. once he returns and he acts indifferent, you bring it up.
his eyes widen as he looks away, realizing he forgot to reply to that letter. scaramouche hesitates before quietly apologizing, mumbling something about 'my dearest' and 'running out of paper'.
Tumblr media
thanks for reading (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

Takes place when the Sumeru 4 (Alhaitham, Kaveh, Cyno and Tighnari) are still Akademiya students.
You're that one quiet, unassuming classmate of theirs who wears large, nerdy glasses and your main goal is to graduate without any attention drawn to you
Too bad, that backfires when one day, you somehow forget to wear your glasses to class and all of your classmates realize just how pretty you are.
Cute, I like this one.
Characters Included: Alhaitham; Cyno; Tighnari; Kaveh
Content: gender neutral reader; nothing else as far as I am aware
Word count: 1,2k words
Something short and sweet. Have fun!
Tumblr media
Alhaitham
he does a double take at you as he looks up from his book
he's heard the whispering among other students, but didn't pay much mind to them, thinking they were over exaggerating again, like they always do
when you walk into class, looking completely different than you usually do, it takes him by surprise
is that really you? can glasses really have that much of an affect on people's appearances?
well, whatever it is, he doesn't say anything to you, just simply focuses back on his book
throughout the day, he notices that you became the main attraction for everyone. People coming up to you and asking questions, swarming all over you
he had half a mind to ignore them and just leave the situation, but upon seeing how uncomfortable you felt, trapped in this situation, he supposed he could lend a helping hand
under the guise of having to talk to you about something related to a project, he removed you from the situation
he stayed with you until you reached a quiet corner in the house of Daena, where you thanked him for his help
he just nodded at you, not really saying anything further but just looking at you
you begin to feel uncomfortable again, what if he views you as an attraction of sort like those other people?
yet, he simply asks you why you're not wearing your glasses again
having not expected him to say anything, you answer that they broke the other day and you're still waiting for them to be repaired
he just nodded again, then left and went about his day, but not before telling you to seek him out should you require his help again
you look after him, dumbfounded, not sure why exactly Alhaitham, of all people, was engaging in conversation with you and offering up his help to you
little did you know that he thinks of you as quite cute without your glasses. In his mind, they could just stay broken so he could continue to admire you..
Tumblr media
Cyno
Does not recognize you
AT ALL
He doesn't mean it in a bad way or anything, but you genuinely look like a completely different person to him without your glasses, so what is he supposed to think?
When you walk into class that day, he sees you and immediately walks over to you, asking you if you switched up your classroom since he's never seen you here before
you're confused about his statement, telling him that you're in the right room and that you've been part of this class for the last half year
again, does not believe you
even when you tell him your name, he refuses to acknowledge that it's really you. He thinks it's someone walking around and pretending to be you
you have to show him your ID and even then, he's still not fully convinced
after all, if what you're saying is true, then the only thing different about you is you not wearing your glasses. But that little thing can't have that much effect on your appearance... right?
He wants to argue more, but then the professor comes in, ending the discussion between you two. And after class, you're gone too quickly for him to engage again
the next day, you come into class with your glasses on again and he thinks everything is fine again
He walks up to you and strikes up a conversation with you. As he was about to mention yesterdays events, you proceed to take off your glasses in front of him
"Believe me now?", you asked him
he was dumbfounded
apologizes profusely to you, for at least a week straight. He can't believe he made such a fool of himself. Such an embarrassement!
You quickly forgive him, it's not like he meant anything bad or was harming you in any way. But that doesn't mean that you can't tease him about it every chance you get..
Tumblr media
Tighnari
does indeed recognise you
Tighnari, I think, is a person that pays decent amount of attention to all his classmates. Not excessively, but a normal amount
so of course he notices the change in appearance almost instantly, since your glasses were a big part about your looks
however, he notices that people are whispering among themselves, talking about you
most are taking guesses on why you suddenly decided to not wear them. Some guess that they were broken, others think that you just forgot. And some not so nice people think that you're doing it for attention
because, now that you weren't wearing them, everyone could clearly tell how good looking you were
Tighnari found himself getting unreasonably frustrated with those mean people, claiming that you were just seeking attention
so, he decided to go up to you and strike up a conversation. You were confused, but at the same time pleasantly so, about this turn of events
because even if Tighnari paid attention to his classmates, that doesn't mean that he interacts with them often
so for him to go up and talk to you first was a big deal. You offered the seat next to you to him, which he took and sat down next to you
the two of you got into talking and as time went on, Tighnari continued to sit next to you, even after you started wearing your glasses again
he never questions you about it, since you must have your reasons for it
he's happy as long as he get to talk to you, since during all that time, he actually grew quite fond of you...
Tumblr media
Kaveh
also doesn't really notice it
Kaveh is always deep with his nose in another architectual project, focused mostly on him and his ideas
he doesn't mean it in a rude way, it's just that he has many ideas and he has to write them down constantly or he forgets about them
so yeah.. mainly focuses on himself than the people in his classroom, but he tries to stay friendly with everyone and keep nice conversations with them
one day, he is assigned to work on a project together with you and the two of you decide to move to the House of Daena where it's more quiet so you can properly brainstorm about it
during this brainstorming, Kaveh keeps staring at you. Honestly, it's really irritating to you , but you try to ignore it the best you can for the sake of your grades
meanwhile, Kaveh is deep in thought. He knows something is different about you, he's talked to you many times, so he's sure that you did something, but he can't quite place it and it's driving him crazy!
Until... he suddenly has a moment of realization!
he gasps out loud once he's gotten it, making you look at him questioningly
"Don't you usually wear glasses?", he asks you then, wanting to know your reason for leaving them
You hadn't thought he would notice this, to be honest. You tell him, truthfully, that you simply forgot to put them on this morning
"Hmm... you should do that more often. You look quite dashing without them on."
he says this matter-of-factly, then simply turning back to focus on the project. Meanwhile, you're a blushing mess from his unexpected compliment, yet he doesn't notice
he means what he said to you, but he didn't think it would have such an effect on you
but, thinking back on it now.. maybe this was the moment that the infatuation with each other started for the both of you...

Tumblr media Tumblr media
one. the first time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is entirely coincidental. the first time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is also entirely uncomfortable for both of you, unfortunately.
you do not expect to encounter the infamous scribe, his identity shrouded in mystery and all things intimidating. how easily he manages to slip through everyone's grasp, baffle even the most knowledgeable of researchers and send them into an existential crisis on his whereabouts. so when you hear that it's his birthday ( you also wonder how anyone found out ), you don't think much of it, not really, because how many times have you actually seen alhaitham? like once. for two seconds.
( you will be honest. you thought he was very handsome in the few moments you managed to see him. )
it happens when you seek refuge from the overwhelming projects and ideas that occupy your thoughts, desperate in search of peace and quiet. you open the door to the most obscure room known to man, and there he is.
he's quick to notice you, book in hand as his sharp gaze meets your disoriented and confused one. it is very quiet. you do not think this is the quiet you wanted.
some ( definitely not you, though ) might even say this is worse.
you have many thoughts : one: is this where he always hides? two: is he working right now? or is he just leisurely reading? three: this is very awkward. you are not sure what to say. should you introduce yourself? should you leave, wordless, hope you never see him again for the sake of preserving what little pride and dignity remain?
anyway, between all those ideas and the complete apathy in his visage, you don't come up with a coherent plan. so what do you do?
"i, uh--" you clear your throat loudly, uncertain. "happy birthday?"
you think you might see a moment of amusement grace his features-- you're not sure, too occupied with the heat that rushes to your face in embarrassment.
the first time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is what you also hope to be the last time.
( surprise : it's not. )
two. the second time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is a little better than the previous time. yes, you see him more often now, might even consider him an acquaintance of some sort, but something about your foolishness in that initial impression makes you want to fling yourself into the sun and void simultaneously.
"it was a good birthday present." he says, once again in another hiding spot that you've somehow managed to find. "i enjoyed it."
you think back to a year ago, mind running blank. you most certainly came empty handed.
"what? me saying happy birthday?"
he pauses, looks up and stares blankly at you before you see the slightest hint of a smirk dance across his lips.
"your embarrassment. it was an amusing present."
you stare back, also blank.
no, you are no longer acquaintances with him. you do not care if it took a whole year to even get to this point in your odd friendship. you think he is annoying.
the smirk seems to grow with every moment of silence.
also, you hate him now.
"i am simply so honored," you start, offering him the usual coffee, "that i could be so hilarious."
"you should be. few could compare."
you retract your hand, pull the drink out of his reach at the last minute. he simply raises a brow, expectant, waiting. you maintain eye contact for about five seconds, yet somehow, it feels much too longer. you sigh, feign annoyance in admittance of defeat, and give him the drink.
"happy birthday, dearest feeble scribe."
three. the third time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is a bit different.
he's surprisingly easy to find-- for you, at least, and you are not sure if that's because he lets you find him or if it's something higher that binds you together. but today, you search and search and search, even desperate enough to ask around, knowing very well that you will not find the answer you desire. there is no sign of him. you pop into his office, see everyone's documents left untouched on his desk.
it's weird-- it is, this foreign semblance of anxiety that brews unrest in your lungs. you don't think it's a big deal because it's not, but in the three years you have known him, you've yet to struggle with seeking out his presence.
you take a deep breath, fingers tapping nervously on the gift box in hand. inside there is a book alhaitham has told you about numerous times, expressed interest in yet never managed to find despite his efforts. that was very much a long time ago, so you hope that he'll still enjoy it.
you pause, feel hesitation sink into the pit of your stomach. it is very heavy.
maybe he's already read it, though. that's probably the case, isn't it? surely it must be, given his habit of carrying a book around like it is his own heart.
one, two, three-- you drum your fingers against the box once more, inhale, exhale. you contemplate leaving it on his desk, contemplate just forgetting it entirely, pretend you didn't try to get him a silly gift.
but when you turn around, he stands before you, staring at you with a newfound curiosity. you are not sure what this relief is-- the release of tension wrapped around your chest, the pressure that dissipates in the mere seconds you catch sight of him.
"oh," he starts, approaching you with an ease he does not feel with anyone else, "i found you this time."
you think you'll exchange the usual banter, give him trouble for being so difficult to locate. but instead, you let out a long sigh, find that your heart will not allow you to do so.
"yes, alhaitham," and you cannot describe the blithe smile that finds its way to his lips as you hand him the gift, "you found me."
there is something different in the air ; a tenderness , an unknown, but there is something so wonderfully gentle in the space you share, and neither of you know what to make of that.
four. the fourth time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is the one you think you will remember the most.
you cannot describe this flux & flow that exists between two beings : one seemingly indifferent yet full of intrigue and so entirely human, another that perhaps feels all too much and knows the heart more than anyone.
you have known him for four years now, strange encounters turned to comfort found in companionship and morning coffees together. but there is a strange shift and stagnancy all at once, the silence turned to something almost uncertain.
what is it, this feeling? you cannot identify it, and perhaps in protection of another, you should not.
no, you are not avoiding alhaitham. you know very well what day it is, know the typical routine of busting into a room, finding him with so little difficulty that it is almost as if you share the same soul, bound and knowing of it all. you are the one who shies away from the world this time, burdened by a heaviness that roots itself in your chest, spreads and wraps itself around the hollows of your ribs. you'll see him later, when you're ready.
you pause, lean your head back against the wall, close your eyes. you almost want to laugh. ready for what? how very foolish this all is.
you do not know how long you remain there, mind running a mile a minute until it exhausts itself, succumbs to slumber.
when you wake, he sits at the table before you, focus put forth into the book he holds. you blink, shake off the grogginess, wonder if you are imagining. a glance at the clock and the surfacing feeling of panic ; an unwanted quiet and a very much familiar scene that played out years ago.
the scribe glances at you, closes the distance quicker than either of you expect. he pulls up a chair before you, wordlessly takes a seat.
there is something unreadable in his countenance yet something that speaks volumes. he leans towards you, almost as if gauging your reaction, but you do not move away.
"you didn't say happy birthday to me."
beneath the weight of the silence, you purse your lips, fail to hold back your laughter, pat his knee gently in apology.
"you're too intense, birthday boy. i thought something was wrong."
"you have not said it." his gaze shifts from your eyes to the serene smile on your lips. he stills, wonders how to go about foreign territory. "are you alright?"
the silence returns. you place your hands on his shoulders, hope that this might be enough for now.
"sorry, sorry. happy birthday, alhaitham."
"you aren't answering."
the gentle expression you wield turns into one of reluctance, of something troubled and unbearably torn. something burns in your chest, but you will not call it love, even if there is a yearning that is not meant to be kept at bay, even if you've known that's what it was this whole time. you won't call it that because it doesn't really mean anything, not really, not when you are too cowardly to act upon it.
you want to excuse yourself, pull your hands back, but he grabs your wrists, reverent.
"i would like to know," his thumbs ghost over your skin, encouraging, "please."
it burns so terribly much, this cruelty that beats in your chest. the words of confession threaten to choke you, but you can no longer swallow them. it burns. your eyes sting.
you are so cowardly.
"i'm not alright." you begin, throw caution to the wind, feel the tears trail down your face as he wipes them away with a touch so tender that perhaps they spill even faster. what does it matter anymore? you cannot choose to live with this, unheard, unknown. what does it matter? "what am i supposed to do with all this love, alhaitham?"
his fingers trace your skin, delicate, before his hand cups your cheek. still, he does not say anything ; you wonder if you should prepare yourself for the heartbreak.
"you found me four years ago. do you remember that?"
"yeah. it was embarrassing."
"for you, yes."
"alhaitham."
"the point is," he clears his throat, "you've always managed to find me ever since then without fail. no one else has done that. i could have moved, found peace somewhere else, yet you somehow became the source of it."
a pause, a lingering hesitance.
"i would like to be with you," he tells you, closes the gap that separates you even more than you thought possible, "if you'll have me."
you swat his shoulder lightly, feel your face burn up. you didn't think he was capable of being so cheesy.
"now you're the embarrassing one."
"i'm not the one crying. answer."
you wipe your tears away, very sure you are the epitome of a mess, but alhaitham waits patiently.
"fine. i will have you."
"thank you." he chuckles at your tone, knows it is a contrast to what you truly feel. "what a touching sentiment."
you roll your eyes, cast a half-hearted glare in his direction as your arms wrap around his neck. you pull him close, hope to remember the way he looks at you so softly. he hugs you, warm, and you hope that he doesn't point out that your tears return tenfold.
"happy birthday, alhaitham."
five. the fifth time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is the first time he slips a ring on your finger.
"you're crying again."
you rub your eyes a little too aggressively, minding the cool metal that's found a home in the belonging of you. spots weave and in out of your vision, certainly not helping when you start tearing up again once you look at what lies in front of you. there is a hollowed out book that contains a jewelry box, a sight that invokes nostalgia as you realize the book is a story you once cherished very dearly in youth.
"does this mean i'm your birthday present?"
he hums in amusement, kisses you on the temple, then the nose.
"i would ask for a refund, then."
"if you do not think i will throw this ring at your face so fast--"
nine. the ninth time you wish alhaitham a happy birthday is the most chaotic one, you think, and that certainly says something, given the course of your relationship.
you sleep soundly in his arms, the sunlight blessing your skin with orange and yellow hues. you shift ever so slightly, feel him stir in response. he has always been a light sleeper, but you suppose you are now, too, especially with--
"careful." his hold on you tightens, voice deep and heavy with sleep. "the cavalry is coming."
you hear footsteps, rapid, approaching. one, no, two-- and you feel his hand on the small of your back as he presses you just a bit closer as if he could protect you from the impact that is soon to come.
the door busts open -- it is very loud, both of you think, and your children come bustling in, climbing into bed and separating you in an instant.
( alhaitham doesn't know how they do that. he could have an iron grip on you and his kids would overpower him in two seconds. )
he doesn't really know what he hears-- there's a lot going on between the "good morning", "why are you still sleeping?", "wow, you're so old now", and "happy birthday". he groans as his daughter launches herself onto his chest, her laughter bringing a lightness to his heart as she wishes him a happy birthday for the fifth time in about three seconds. your son follows right behind her, the pressure on his chest much heavier.
suddenly he cannot seem to breathe very well.
it's loud. very loud, alhaitham thinks, but hearing his family laugh and seeing your children move away to shower you with kisses makes him feel such a profound tenderness that he did not ever expect to experience. he says his thanks, once or twice, maybe a thousand times, until you manage to get the little ones to prepare the table for breakfast, and then it is quiet once more.
it's almost immediately that he pulls you to his chest again, grateful for too many things that he doesn't ever dare tell you ( because he knows he will not live it down, and besides, you already know ). you laugh, run your fingers through gray locks as you kiss his nose.
"happy birthday, love."

Hi! I'm back! Thanks for clarifying my question :D.
So I read through your Q&As about SAGAU x BSD, and I had another question: how exactly do you decide if a character hunts the Reader or not? Like, most Imposter!AU fics let the Archons (except Nahida) hunt Reader down. Your post about Neuvillette makes me wonder if the same happens to other naturally-attuned characters like Kazuha or Venti (He is literally a wind spirit). Please take no offense in this ask. I'm just confused about most Imposter!AU world-building :C.
Have a nice day!
Hello! You are welcome to ask as many questions, as you want, I will be happy to answer them.
____
How do I decide, what characters hunts Reader?
I just think about GI Character, and if it will be 'understandable', why they are chasing after Reader on Fake Creator's orders.
Fake Creator, in this crossover, are a villain with good reputation. They aren't a tyrant, they are a good ruler. They don't give people any reason to fear them or start a coop.
And Fake Creator have power and respect.
Even Fontaine, right now, the only nation, that is somewhat against Fake Creator, won't say a word against them.
Archons were 'raised' to love and worship Creator. Archons have 'raised' their nations to love Creator.
But, some people, can't follow Fake Creator blindly.
They either have a feeling, that Fake Creator are a fake (Alice, Albedo, Nahida, Aranaras, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Melusines, Wanderer...), understand, that Reader are innocent and don't try to commit a crime (Jeht, Fischl, Bennett, Razor, Yoimiya...) or outright horrified of Fake's orders (Diona, Barbara, Yaoyao, Baizhu, Qiqi, Itto and his gang, Navia and Spina di Rosula...). Furina hates Fake Creator.
Fake Creator still have many supporters.
________
About Kazuha and Venti.
First, a little bit of lore.
As I mentioned here, Fake Creator stole powers from previous reincarnations' belongings, artifacts and bones. And it affected the powers, they absorbed.
Any powers, that were absorbed from belongings, artifacts, clothes and other similar things are 'pure'. It feels like it always belonged to Fake Creator. People will feel warm and calm near it. It's the power of First Creator. The way it meant to be. And, if Reader spent more time in Teyvat, their powers would fell the same way.
The powers, that were absorbed from bones and remains of previous reincarnations' are 'tainted'. It makes people feel uneasy, cautious and nervous.
Tainted Powers are still First Creator's powers, they can be used to create. But, even looking at them makes people horrified.
Yet, people can get used to them.
There is also one difference between two kinds of powers. A very important one.
Pure Powers are limited and can't be 'refiled'.
Tainted Powers are like glue. They will never truly be gone. They will stick with a person forever.
Fake Creator have enough pure power to mask tainted power. But, not enough to mask it forever.
Besides, Fake Creator must use their powers daily, to make people believe in them.
Fake Creator knew, that they would lose some followers, if they lose all of their pure powers.
So, they recreate a 'frog and boiling water' scenario.
Fake Creator, after destroying Celestia, slowly use more and more tainted powers. Making everyone getting used to them.
So, Venti and Kazuha slowly stopped seeing Creator's powers as something bad. They get used to tainted powers too much. When they saw Reader for the first time and felt echoes of pure powers from them, Kazuha and Venti froze in place. They don't understand, what it was.
Their belief in Creator crumbled.
Kazuha start thinking about his encounter with Reader. And Kazuha realized, how horrible and horrifying Fake Creator's presence felt. Now Kazuha became Reader's supporter.
Venti came to the same conclusion.
But, he is an Archon. And Fake Creator have Mondstadt people near them.
Fake Creator can call Venti a traitor and lock him. Or Fake Creator can get rid of Mondstadt.
Venti had to obey. He felt terrible, when Reader were captured. After Reader disappeared, Venti felt happiness. Yet, he prayed every day to be punished for his crimes.
Venti mopped around, until Mitchell gave him a piece of her mind and make him help in BSD Cast's revenge.

Hi! I have a silly request to share.
It's about Al-Haitham and reader being former academic rivals. They were always at each other's throats. No matter what snarky comment one made the other always had a quick and witty remark. Oh? One got a 95 on their test? Well, too bad! The other got a 100 and will rub it in the other's face.
Literally all of Sumeru knew of their rivalry. But you know what they say: the more you bicker, the more you love. And eventually, the two would date in secret for the next couple of years before eventually getting engaged.
Needles to say, poor Kaveh, Cyno, and Tighnari were gobsmacked to see Al-Haitham linking arms with his biggest rival since his Akademiya days and introducing her as his fiancee.
I’m doing this again bc tumblr didn’t save my earlier draft 😭🤚
✅⭐️
anyways! Expect slower updates because school has started again for me. (Excluding this and the other one I have in my inbox.)
I haven’t been touching this because I was confused on how to grasp this.
But yay story. It’s below the cut (You have amurta because it’s the biggest and my favorite.)
Tumblr media
Rivals to Lovers
Alhaitham x Female Reader (Can be read as G/N)
You walked into class carrying what you needed for the day. Today was a test taking one. Sadly it was the first class you were in that had the test. Others came through the door you watched as each person sat down. Waiting for the bell to ring.
When it did ring everyone was inside as the teacher welcomed everyone and showed a few confusing parts with a few hints on how to deal with them. Luckily you understood everything unlike some others.
You received your test and began. Skimming through each page to find similarities in questions. Using that method to easily do majority correctly. You focused on the other questions and used the tips the teacher had given the class.
Amurta was lucky to have such a kind teacher, giving everyone study time and tips to pass any tests and gives tutoring in lunch or recess period. Everyone would pass in her class.
You went to your next class, identifying differences between certain species. Being given multiple animals with similar ones. Such as Snow,Crimson and Desert foxes.
You figured out majority of the differences and finished early. Focusing on drawing a Crystalfly and a Avidya Leopard for the remaining time. The bell rang and you walked out. Seeing Tighnari with his friends beside Alhaitham.
Your mind thought of what happened to him. Is he stuck in the library like always? You’d ask yourself as you went towards the bunch. Joining in on the conversation they were maintaining.
Until Alhaitham showed up. You looked at him and Kaveh tried to act like he wasn’t there. Failing of course. “I betted that you wouldn’t get a better score than me.”
He stated as he looked at you. “Oh yeah? I bet I did better than you. Why don’t you tell me ur score?” You stated confidently and he said he got a 95. “How much were you betting?” “Only 20 dollars(idk how much mora that would be lol) Are you scared?”
“No because I got a perfect score of 100!” You said as the others tried to not laugh. Your rivalry with eachother was interesting. Showing your paper to him across the table and sticking your tongue out. “Anyways who did you bet it to?” “Cyno.” Everyone’s head turned to him and he was confused. “What?”
“Why cyno-?” Kaveh asked to Alhaitham. “Because he wanted to.” “I uhhh…” “Cyno you shouldn’t bet.” Tighnari scolded him as he nodded. “Anyways I will do better than you in our next class!” You said as you looked to Alhaitham. “Yeah sure.” He replied as he looked away and back to his book. Handing cyno the money.
He did better the next time and repeated what you did to him beside sticking out his tongue. Another fight between you two was about to happen. Which is usually the both of you just rambling about the other and trying to be louder than the other. Which didn’t happen. Thanks to Tighnari holding you back.
Multiple years passed and graduation comes. You two of course still bickered with one another and weren’t as competitive as you used to be when you were younger.
Now with the both of you dating secretly you have to keep up the act still. You both didn’t want others to find out that secret that was kept hidden.
You sticked out your tongue playfully at him as you linked arms. He smiled at you before he made you spin and let go. You dropped your scroll as he snickered at you.
Your yelling could be heard from a bit away. Gathering a lot of people’s attention but they were used to it. Everyone knew you bickered constantly. Trying to keep up the act as you made him drop his scroll. He looked at you with slight anger and ignored you.
When the time came you yeeted your hats in happiness. A few bits of celebration everywhere. All happy they were finished learning successfully in their chosen darshan.
He brought you on dates with gifts and you did the same but he did majority of them. Always booking the times that would be the most crowded or exclusive.
Both of yours and his parents approved of it. Letting you both to get engaged after a few years of getting together. You and him arranged a meet up with the others after not seeing them for 3 years.
“Hey guys long time no see!” You said as you waved to them at the meetup spot. Alhaitham linking his arm with you. They were in shock at the two of you. “You guys are dating-?” Tighnari asked as he looked at the arms. “Yeah. We’re engaged actua-“ “WHAT?” Cyno and Kaveh exclaimed as Tighnari covered his ears.”
“Yes indeed. She is my fiancé.” “Y/N your his fiancé-??” Kaveh asking you while you nodded. “You guys always bicker I’m surprised you both managed to do this.” Cyno mentioned as you all headed to the spot.
“She and I had a Rivals to Lovers I guess?” Alhaitham stated as you nodded slightly. Talking with the others on the way. “We’re going to the cafe to have lunch together! It’s on us.” You said as Alhaitham gave a thumbs up.
Arriving at the cafe and ordering, sitting down and chatting amongst everyone while waiting for the food and drinks to arrive. Enjoying the meal as you all listened to stories of what happened to eachother in those three years.
(Had no idea how to end this but I hope you enjoy)

a/n: haikaveh drabble of them sleeping together. just sleeping. sleepy fluff. haikaveh images from hailailai2 on twitter : )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It takes little to rouse Alhaitham from sleep, even less to make him fully come to his senses before drifting off again. Normally, Kaveh was the exception to this rule; Alhaitham slept like he was on the brink of death whenever his beloved was near him, though he would deny it with every breath. Kaveh knew, though, he could see the slight furrow of Alhaitham’s brow smooth out with Kaveh’s touch and could feel his breathing deepen further when he curled up into Kaveh’s arms. It was a gift that Kaveh held close to his chest. What Alhaitham couldn’t remember wouldn’t hurt him, he supposed.
That unspoken knowledge is why their current situation was so…odd. Kaveh returned home drowsy and languid from the cup of wine he had shared with Tighnari not long ago, and he had stripped down and bathed not a moment after coming home. He wanted to get into bed as soon as possible, but he wasn’t so tired that he was willing to risk Alhaitham’s lecture about sleeping in his bed without being clean. Kaveh made quick work of it, his eyes closed as he lathered and rinsed off his aching body, and he had slid into bed like he always does, draping himself over Alhaitham’s chest and burying his head in the juncture between his jaw and his sternum. The sound of Alhaitham’s slow heartbeat was typically Kaveh’s favorite bedtime story, but this time it jumped soon after Kaveh had closed his eyes.
A glance upwards showed Alhaitham’s lips twisted into a frown, his nose scrunched up in such an adorable way that for a moment Kaveh’s confusion gave way to unfiltered fondness. The soft whine he lets out brings him back into focus, and he slowly blinks as he internally debates whether he should wake Alhaitham or not.
Maybe he’s having a bad dream, Kaveh muses, and he snuggles a bit further into Alhaitham, trying to offer his junior some comfort even in his subconscious. It doesn’t help, but rather it makes things worse. The younger man whines again and wriggles under Kaveh, almost dislodging him from his perch. Alhaitham’s mouth parts in a disgruntled noise as his eyes finally blink open and he stares down at Kaveh blearily.
Kaveh finds the whole thing dreadfully familiar, even though he hasn’t had this particular experience since before he and Alhaitham confessed their feelings. Ending up in bed together was a frequent occurrence back then, and Alhaitham would always wake up with a cold set to his body and a shade of disappointment on his face. Now, however, it makes no sense; they had been together long enough for sleeping in comfort together to be their lived-in routine.
“Haitham?” Kaveh tries, something in him bending and threatening to break. “Are you alright?”
“Mm,” Alhaitham tries his voice out, and it’s thick and crackly from sleep. “Something’s wrong.”
“Wrong.” Kaveh repeats, and he leans back a bit to create some distance. Alhaitham doesn’t let him, his hand creeping around Kaveh to secure them together, and Kaveh’s heart settles a bit. “What do you mean?”
“You smell weird,” Alhaitham says, sentences even more deadpan in his drowsy state than usual. “Different. Not like yourself.”
“Do I smell bad? I just bathed,” Kaveh feels a little insulted, he knows how to wash himself thank you very much, but Alhaitham shakes his head before the heat inside him can rise.
“You don’t smell like you,” Alhaitham’s voice is tinged with desperation, his words shaped like a plea, and Kaveh is so confused. He tilts his head down, trying to smell whatever Alhaitham is claiming is so wrong and that’s when he realizes.
He doesn’t smell like himself, he smells like Alhaitham. His skin is painted with notes of amber and jasmine, woodsy and heavy which was wholly unlike his preferred scent of fresh padisarahs and cotton.
“Oh,” he lets out a relieved breath, letting his muscles relax so he was melted against the other man. “I must have used your soap instead of mine.”
“But I like the way you smell,” Alhaitham whines, and Kaveh is affectionately reminded that his lover is the younger of them both. It isn’t often that Alhaitham lets his childishness show, but even he is vulnerable to the emotional effects of sleep deprivation.
“I’ll fix it first thing in the morning, I’m tired now,” Kaveh reasons, closing his eyes.
“Now,” Kaveh can’t see the frown on Alhaitham’s face, but he can certainly hear it in the single word he mutters out.
“Think of it this way,” Kaveh smiles, pulling out something he’d been keeping close to his chest. “If I smell like you, then everyone will know that I’m yours.”
Alhaitham doesn’t answer, but Kaveh feels his heart jump under his cheek, and he hides his smile in the fabric of his lover’s shirt. Nevermind that the ‘everyone’ that Kaveh speaks of consists of their four walls and Mehrak.
He adds possessive to his mental checklist of Things Alhaitham Is That No One Will Believe Me About, right between Not Feeble and Temperamental.

Kaveh’s heart dropped as he looked to his side to see the caller ID on the phone. His boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend? He wasn’t sure, but it didn’t matter because guilt engulfed him regardless. What he was doing right as the phone chimed in his ear constituted cheating, and no feeling good would ever justify that. To make matters worse, he was cheating with the one person he promised wasn’t going to be a problem not even 30 minutes prior. He let the phone ring, waiting for it to switch to voicemail. “Pick it up,” Alhaitham said.
Status: Completed (2,610 words)
“This is a public space.” Alhaitham’s voice resounded from behind Kaveh, the blond parting his lips from his boyfriend’s to acknowledge the looming presence behind them. He wasn’t exactly mourning that their kiss had been interrupted, but his usual resentment towards Alhaitham was perfectly sufficient at closing any gaps.
“This is an entryway, and I know for a fact you have nowhere to be.” Kaveh rolled his eyes without looking behind him. He wasn’t willing to give Alhaitham the attention he was trying to draw to himself. “Go away,” Kaveh warned.
A pregnant pause passed between the three men until Kaveh spun his head with a discontent glare meant for his roommate, who gave him a shrug before leaving.
“Do you really have to stay with this guy?” Kaveh turned back to the man who had just spent minutes practically eating his face. “I’m not comfortable with you living with him.”
Kaveh suppressed a groan. He was used to these insecurities, but that made him no more willing to deal with them.
He understood. His living situation was confusing and given how much he complains about Alhaitham, it made sense to question it. But he hadn’t been dating this guy long enough for him to be in a position to make demands about who Kaveh chose to share a home with. It wasn’t like he had much choice anyway.
“There isn’t an alternative, and at the very least I can depend on Alhaitham not doing anything funny,” Kaveh sighed. It was a sad reality; he couldn’t afford a place of his own and the city was filled with weirdos. He shouldn’t shack up with a stranger unless he intended to be found dead in someone’s basement.
Alhaitham drove him insane, but he had known him for years. At the end of the day, Kaveh knew that they’d be there for each other. He could rely on Alhaitham for better and worse.
“How about living with me?” The man in front of him asked hesitantly. It was a ridiculous idea and he was probably aware of it himself. “It makes no sense for you to live with someone you despise when you can live with someone you love.”
‘Presumptuous.’ Kaveh bit back the words. He never even as much as implied that his feelings were that deep. He had enjoyed his time with his boyfriend, but to say they had reached that level of commitment? No. When Kaveh thought of love, a different face would appear at the forefront of his mind. But neither his lack of feelings for one nor his suppressed feelings for the other were issues he was willing to address.
“It’s a nice offer,” Kaveh began, a polite smile sat on his lips as he tried to find the words to make the rejection as painless as possible, “but to live with someone I’m dating so early on? I can live with Alhaitham because it’s meaningless.” ‘A lie.’ Kaveh pushed away the intrusive thought as quickly as it came.
“You shouldn’t put your faith in him so easily.” Something about his boyfriend’s demeanourdemeanor changed. His tone felt hostile, and his stance aggressive. “He is clearly interested in you.”
“Even if he is, the fact that he hasn’t acted on it goes to show that I can trust him.” Kaveh did not like the implication that Alhaitham had bad intentions. It was rude, and the guy hardly even knew him. Only Kaveh was permitted to say such things about Alhaitham.
His boyfriend closed in on Kaveh, gripping his arms tightly and making him flinch. “You’re being naive!”
“And you’re being insecure!” Kaveh yanked himself free, separating them. “Which is no excuse for mistreating me.”
The man opened his mouth again, but this time Kaveh cut him off before he could say anything. “You should leave.”
For a split second it seemed that he would. He had the doorknob in his hand beforehandbefore turning back to Kaveh and shouting. “Insecure?!”
Kaveh groaned, rolling his eyes as he prepared himself mentally for what was coming.
“Anyone can see that there’s something going on between you two!”
“And I assure you that there isn’t. It’s one thing to distrust Alhaitham, but what did I do to earn your suspicions?”
“You’re an easy guy, living with a good-looking man who has a thing for you.”
“What did you just call me?” It was undeserved. Kaveh wasn’t quick to jump into bed with this guy nor does he know anything about any potential encounters Kaveh might have had previously. It was a bold assumption to make.
“You know what, I’m leaving. I’ll call you when you’ve calmed down,” the man said, noticing Kaveh wasn’t going to back down.
“Honestly?” Kaveh took the door in his hand, “Don’t bother.” He slammed the door shut and stomped back into the house. He walked past Alhaitham, who pretended he hadn’t just heard the entire exchange. The roommate looked away innocently as Kaveh made his way into his bedroom.
Kaveh dropped onto his bed and screamed into his pillow, letting out all frustration. ‘What a dick.’ He should raise his standards. To imagine that a jackass like that managed to sway him into dating him.
He flipped onto his back and was met with the subject of his fight standing by the door. Alhaitham’s arms were crossed and he sported a self-satisfied and smug grin on his face.
“Shut up,” Kaveh groaned.
“I have yet to say anything.”
“Yet.”
“I’ll keep quiet then.” Alhaitham closed the gap between himself and the bed, and climbed over Kaveh. The blond sucked in a breath. He remained still, waiting to see what Alhaitham was doing.
Abruptly Alhaitham pulled him by the legs, pressing him flush against his crotch. He placed his hand on Kaveh’s face, squeezing his mouth open from the sides to allow himself full access. His tongue darted in, and Kaveh unabashedly went along with it. He’d already forgotten about his boyfriend. Or was it his ex-boyfriend by now? He wasn’t sure.
He didn’t care.
Alhaitham snapped the buttons on Kaveh’s blouse apart, and while Kaveh would be upset about the way his clothes were treated by his roommate, he couldn’t think of anything when the man’s tongue continued to explore his mouth.
The kiss was gentle, contrary to how roughly Alhaitham was holding onto him. It made Kaveh’s head spin with the hope for something deeper to whatever was going on.
Desperate for air they separated. Neither of them dared to speak, fearful of ending the moment.
Alhaitham grinned and lifted himself back up. He placed his hands over Kaveh’s pants and looked at him for permission. Kaveh nodded, and quickly his consent turned into Alhaitham removing his clothes, exposing his bare body to him.
“Cute,” Alhaitham said, staring at Kaveh’s leaking cock. The comment should have infuriated Kaveh. He was clearly being teased, yet he flushed under the intense gaze.
Alhaitham drank in the sight of the body beneath him. He glanced down Kaveh’s frame, between the parted blouse that did nothing to hide the hardened pink nipples underneath.
He lowered his eyes and Kaveh shyly pushed together his legs to hide his dripping wet cock as if it wasn’t screaming for attention on his abdomen. With ease Alhaitham hoisted Kaveh up by his waist, lining up his entrance with his mouth.
Kaveh yelped, but the sound quickly turned into needy moans as he felt the wet sensation of Alhaitham’s tongue pressing against the tight muscle of his hole.
Alhaitham’s tongue pressed inside him, soon joined by fingers to help with opening him up. He was impatient, yet seemingly still considerate enough to prepare Kaveh. Regardless, it didn’t take long for Alhaitham to drop Kaveh’s hips back onto the bed.
He wanted to do a lot to the blond; he wanted to take him apart bit by bit until Kaveh was nothing but a babbling mess. Waiting out this boyfriend had taken up much of his patience.
Alhaitham pulled himself out of his trousers and lined the tip of his cock up with Kaveh’s wet and stretched out hole. He paused, and once again looked at Kaveh for permission, only to be met with an eager nod.
A wry grin crept up Alhaitham’s face. “Needy.”
The taunt earned Alhaitham what was no better than an attempt from Kaveh kicking at his face. Feeling spiteful, Alhaitham decided to push into the agitated blond without warning. The lighthearted moment was interrupted by a sharp inhale, and Kaveh gritting his teeth at the sudden stretch.
“Slowly, please,” Kaveh pleaded. He didn’t want to give Alhaitham the satisfaction of knowing that he was significantly bigger than his shitty boyfriend he had just shut the door on, even if it was evident from how tight he felt around him.
Alhaitham pushed in until he fully disappeared inside Kaveh, their bodies pressed flush together. They stared at each other with unspoken fondness, not moving until one of them was to encourage the other, or rather that was the intent.
Kaveh’s phone rang beside them, breaking them away from their little moment.
Still filled to the brim by Alhaitham’s cock, Kaveh’s heart dropped as he looked to his side to see the caller ID on the phone.
“No?!” Kaveh screeched out in shock. He wasn’t about to pick up the phone with Alhaitham balls deep inside him. Alhaitham couldn’t be trusted not to pull some shit, and Kaveh couldn’t trust himself to hold back his voice if his roommate did decide to continue fucking him while on the phone.
Alhaitham angled himself slightly and slammed back into Kaveh, hitting his prostate in the process. Kaveh’s body tensed around Alhaitham’s cock, enough to distract him from the phone that Alhaitham had picked up.
“Hello?” A faint voice came from the phone’s speaker.
Kaveh sucked in a sharp breath, realising he had to do this. “I’m sorry—“ he began to speak, but immediately needed to choke back a sob as Alhaitham decided to increase the pace, dead set on drawing out as much sound from Kaveh as possible. “I can’t talk right now.”
“You sound strained, are you ok?”
“Feeling—ah.” Alhaitham pulled Kaveh’s head to the side by his hair, exposing his neck to his lips. “S-sick!” Kaveh stammered out, holding back his moans as Alhaitham trailed his tongue down the sensitive skin of his neck. He bit down on his lips, scared that if he opened his mouth again all that would spill out would be the desperate sounds in response to Alhaitham fucking him.
“I’ll come back, I can take care of you.” Kaveh’s heart dropped. Despite his insecurities, he wasn’t exactly the worst person. Even as Kaveh was being fucked by his roommate, his boyfriend was willing to take care of him. Granted, he had no idea what Kaveh was really doing, but still.
Kaveh prayed for the call to end. He wanted to spare the man’s feelings, but knew it was a long shot.
“No,” Kaveh replied, tears in his eyes as the cock inside him plunged in and out. “It’s—hng—I’m ok!” He glared dragged at Alhaitham, who continued his unrelenting pace with a self satisfied grin.
Kaveh’s mind was close to going blank. Alhaitham’s every thrust managed to hit exactly right, and it was all too much. But it was when Alhaitham’s fingers wrapped around his cock and denied him his orgasm, that Kaveh snapped.
The world around him disappeared and all that was left to keep him grounded was Alhaitham.
“Well, if you’re sure,” the voice said hesitantly, but Kaveh was already turned out.
“We’re sure,” Alhaitham spoke up, “you’d just be interrupting.” He never cared to be quiet or to save the guy’s feelings. He disliked how he cut the conversation with Kaveh short the moment Kaveh bit back, and he hated how he made Kaveh out to be the emotional one out of the two when for once he was being rational.
He made it a point to create as much noise as possible, the phone call not yet ended and Alhaitham keen to show off just how he was making Kaveh feel. The echoes of skin slapping against bare skin made it through the phone, the other end silent in response.
Alhaitham made it a point to let himself be heard by both Kaveh and the man on the other side. Gruff groans resounded through the room as he chased down his own climax.
“Please,” Kaveh cried out.
Alhaitham glanced at the phone, a sly grin on his lips as he noted the call was still going. “Please what. What do you want?”
“I’m close, just please—“ Kaveh’s mind was a blur. He could only focus on how good Alhaitham felt inside of him, how well he fitted around him. “I need—“
“You need what?” Alhaitham taunted. “Use your words.” He wanted Kaveh to say it. That he needed Alhaitham, and not his useless boyfriend. He wanted the man on the other side of the line to hear it.
“Let me cum, please!” Kaveh yelled out frantically, his nails digging into Alhaitham’s arms while he moved his hips along with the man’s thrust desperately.
“Tell me,” Alhaitham said, eyes glued to the phone screen. “Do I fuck you better than him?”
“Who?” Kaveh was confused, having no idea who Alhaitham was even referring to.
“Do I fuck you better than your boyfriend?!” Alhaitham stopped entirely, waiting for Kaveh to answer him.
A whine spilled from Kaveh’s lips, as if there was nothing Alhaitham could have done to offend him more than to stop fucking into him. “Alhaitham, please,” he begged.
“Well?” Alhaitham insisted.
“He’s nothing compared to you,” Kaveh finally mumbled.
Something in Alhaitham snapped, and he resumed his unrelenting pace. “Going to fill you up. Claim you as mine.”
Yours!” Kaveh wailed, oblivious to the man listening in.
Alhaitham released the hold he had on Kaveh’s length, and started to pump at it. Paired with a few sharp thrusts of his hips, he pushed the both of them over the edge. He spilled inside of Kaveh, painting his inner walls white.
Kaveh screamed out in delight, content with how full he felt. His own release splatters across his abdomen and into Alhaitham’s hand. A beat of silence finally passed between them, and the room filled itself with heavy breathes.
Alhaitham pulled out his cock from Kaveh’s abused hole, and he watched as his hard work spilled from it, down Kaveh’s trembling thighs.
He glanced back down at the phone, and after a few more seconds, the call ended.
Satisfied with bringing Kaveh’s relationship to a definitive end, he looked back at the man in question. Kaveh laid before him, covered in his own mess. White strands had spilled over his stomach and Alhaitham’s released continued to spill out of him. He trembled, twitching with aftershocks.
Alhaitham felt himself hardening at the sight, ready to indulge once more.
But he didn’t. He dropped down next to Kaveh and pulled him into his arms. “Saved you a break-up talk.” He planted a kiss onto Kaveh’s shoulder, who let out an annoyed whimper between heavy breaths.
"Jerk."

@basbousah sent: "Was it my fault?" (Kaveh)
Tumblr media
Normally it's not hard to guess what Kaveh is talking about even when his speech is slurred and his logic questionable. Whenever it happens that he does fail to give sufficient information Alhaitham usually only has to wait a little while before he adds more to it to make his case. Tonight he doesn't have to wait that long. Confused at first, he looks up from his book to find Kaveh sitting at the table, staring at a bottle in front of him that he may or may not have emptied by now. It's hard to guess his stage of drunkenness but when he came home from archon knows where less than twenty minutes ago he seemed more or less of sound mind.
Was it my fault?
For a moment Alhaitham thinks Kaveh is speaking of his father. It's the first thing that comes to his mind, perhaps the deepest of cuts in Kaveh's heart that he knows of; but he's spoken of it before and as far as Alhaitham can tell he's somewhat come to terms with it. No. This, he realizes, is about them. It's the kind of question that tries to prompt a fast answer, which isn't something Alhaitham can provide. He remains silent for a while, longer than Kaveh might want him to, sorting his thoughts on the matter; a matter that's kept his mind occupied for many nights and days but never was brought up between them since then.
They were close, closer than he'd ever been with anyone outside his family, closer certainly than they are now. Not many things felt comfortable back then but for some reason Kaveh broke through all of it. Kaveh persisted, despite their glaring differences in personalities, by simply refusing to see the barriers Alhaitham imagined around himself and failed to communicate effectively. And it worked. For a while it worked well and Kaveh began to feel.. comfortable.
Until they got too close and everything moved too fast for Alhaitham to catch up.
Yes. It was Kaveh's fault. His fault for trusting and using the closeness between them to get closer. His fault for kissing Alhaitham and not giving him the time to process his response to it. His fault for misinterpreting Alhaitham not pushing him away as acceptance, agreement, as invitation to stay close and change what they had into something else entirely, disregarding the value it had for him just the way it was. His fault to assume that just because Alhaitham didn't say no to this version of them it implied an ability and willingness to take on the entirety of his emotional burden and then blaming him when he realized that was not the case.
His fault for not understanding that Alhaitham does not feel in the same way he does, even if the same desire sits at the core of both their hearts.
"Yes," Alhaitham says after far too many moments, the book he was reading still lying open in his lap, abandoned.
Tumblr media
They both lost something back then but to blame it all on Kaveh would simply be incorrect.
It was Alhaitham's fault for letting it happen the way it did and not being able to respond to it faster. His fault for being unwilling to shoulder more of Kaveh's sadness and need to feel less alone in the world; his fault for accepting so easily that he was unable to. His fault for seeing the whole spectrum of things he could have said and choosing only the easy answers to Kaveh's endless questions.
Why are you like this? Do you not care at all? Is that all you have to say?
His fault for focusing on the only thing that felt clear and controllable between them and believing that postponing facing the uncomfortable to a later time would work for Kaveh the same way as it worked for him. His fault for believing that Kaveh would stay with him regardless.
His fault for letting Kaveh walk away without saying a word of it.
"And mine."

Genshin ship preferences
My preferred ships in Genshin, ones I read/write, and ships I avoid. (Not because I disapprove, ship what you want! But I just don't enjoy reading fanfic of those ships.)
(Disclaimer: Charactername/Charactername is dynamic-neutral in this list. Assume I'm okay with either or with characters being vers unless otherwise specified. I'll specify top/dom and bottom/submissive dynamics I prefer in the description, if applicable. I know "top" and "bottom" often refers to just the active/penetrating partner and the passive/receptive partner. But when I say it, I'm using it in a kink sense. Top/dominant and bottom/submissive. I prefer top/bottom to dominant/submissive because it's more flexible, scene-specific, and doesn't imply out-of-the-bedroom lifestyle elements that may not apply for the character relationship.)
Favorite Ships & Characters
Characters I want to read more stories about, regardless of whether they're with anyone and regardless of relationship dynamics: Ayato, Alhaitham, Baizhu, Kazuha, Nahida, Neuvillette, Wanderer, Xiao, Zhongli, Kaeya, Dehya, Jeht, Dunyarzad, Tadhla
Alhaitham/Kaveh: Usually top!Alhaitham and bottom!Kaveh, but I've seen some Kaveh-as-bratty-top depictions that I liked. I can see them both being switches. I just love their dynamic, and the number of fanfic writers who've extrapolated my lived internal experience from Alhaitham's character has been a little ridiculous, so it's often pretty validating and relatable for me to read.
Ayato/Thoma: Usually with top!Ayato and bottom!Thoma, but I'm here for service top Thoma and needs-to-let-go-of-control-sometimes Ayato because ye gods, man, you're gonna die of stress at an early age if you don't do something about it. I've also seen plenty of believable topping-from-the-bottom Ayato and pillow-princess-bottom Ayato which I can totally believe as well. Dom Thoma is confusing to me and I haven't seen it done believably yet, though I'll read a fic out of curiosity to see if they'll convince me.
...Also I really want Alhaitham/Ayato/Thoma/Kaveh even though I know it's kind of a crackship, Alhaitham and Kaveh have never met Ayato and Thoma, but their dynamics would work in such interesting ways together! Throw any combination of those four in a story and I'll read it immediately.
Zhongli/yaksha: Zhongli as archon/liege and yaksha as vassal/servant (I haven't read a bottom/sub Zhongli depiction that I've ever liked or resonated with). This requires a little explanation. My absolute favorite Zhongli/yaksha fic is with Jiangxue as the missing yaksha (written before the Perilous Trail Archon Quest release in 2.7). Anything that calls back to Morax's ruthless war god aspect from the Archon War is an automatic win for me. I do like plenty of Zhongli/Xiao stories, but I always have to imagine Xiao as… not looking so young as his character model (even though he's absolutely ancient) because every time I see him in game and remember how young he looks, I have a harder time reading explicit fanfic with him in it. Which is annoying, because the dynamic is so delightful.
Zhongli/Childe: I was uncertain about this initially, but there's been so much good fanfic that it's convinced me. (I'll also always read Childe/Zhongli/Xiao.)
Jeht/Lumine: C'mon, where is all the fanfic for this? It's the first time we've had such drastic differences in dialogue between Lumine and Aether, and makes it so obvious that Jeht sees Aether as a friend and Lumine as a love interest. Where is the fanfic?
Dehya/Dunyarzard: I love them.
Ningguang/Beidou: I love them so much.
Baizhu/Il Dottore: I was trying to find Baizhu shipped with anyone, and this is the one that resonated the most when I actually read fanfic of it. Not as a romantic ship, just as a kinky ship dynamic.
Ships I like but don't usually go looking for, but I'll read them if they come up:
Il Dottore/Pantalone: This is all pantalonely's fault for writing some of the best fic in the entire fandom.
Baizhu/Herbalist Gui: If we're talking believable ships, I'm here for this one. It just tends to be very… soft, and I don't usually go looking for soft in my fanfic reading. I also can't really imagine it as anything other than soft. So I love the ship, but I don't read much fanfic of it.
Itto/Thoma/Ayato: Any combination of the three. A well done Itto is a fun element of playful disruptive chaos in the Ayato/Thoma dynamic.
Xiao/Aether: The Perilous Trail archon quest and Lantern Rite 2023 finally sold me on this one. I don't normally ship Traveler since the game is written such that the Traveler is flirted with by practically everyone, so it doesn't seem to mean much, but in Xiao's case it seems to be unusually emphasized. I'm here for it. I mostly read non-erotica for these two, lots of great hurt/comfort.
Cyno/Tighnari: They're just a lot of fun.
Cyno/Tighnari/Kaveh/Alhaitham: I just really like polyamory fics, and this one generates a lot of writing in the fandom.
Dainsleif/Halfdan: As lovers or as friends, I'll take either one.
Dainsleif/Abyssal Lumine: One of the few m/f ships I'll read.
Ayaka/Yoimiya: Because they're adorable.
Venti/Xiao: Not what I usually go for but there's some good hurt/comfort stuff out there for these two.
Nahida & Wanderer (platonic only): I love their dynamic in the game so much, the mentor/reluctant student sort of thing, the healer/patient, etc. More of this please.
Common ships I avoid:
Most of the m/f ships unless they're queered in some significant way or polyamorous.
Kaeya/Diluc (incest, even adoptive incest, is a major squick for me)
