A little illustration series I made in February/March before my exam about the Antiquity.

Here we have Ancient Egypt, Mama Iberia/Hispania (Spain and Portugal's mom), Minoan Crete (Ancient Greece's mom), Ancient Greece, Britannia, Germania and Noricum (Austria's mom and Germania's sister)

hmmmmm been watching a lot of psychological horror movies recently, and a lot of them feature a character being haunted but not interacting with the dead? Like they're in the same room and the deceased says nothing.

I've been pondering Britannia showing up that way to Arthur, he's drunk one night, sitting in his study far later then he should and suddenly she's there just across from him. He never saw his mother, but there she is in front of him looking the same she was the moment she died. He's not even scared, but he doesn't believe its her even though he knows with every fiber of his being it is.

His mother was a warrior, that's all anyone ever said of her, his siblings had overly idealized notions of things she did. They were far older than him, they remembered her, he didn't believe the things they said about her were true. The woman sitting across from him doesn't look like a warrior, she looks worn and defeated, she's covered in sweat and blood, and there's tear tracks on her face.

And this little shit always preached her death necessary for his life, it was a trade off and she knew it before he was born. He was the death of her and he didn't care but she's here now, she's going to force him to care. He just watches her, he doesn't know how long they sit there but he wakes up in his bed the next morning. He doesn't know if she was real or not, but he saw her regardless

Day 4 (May 11th) ~ Greek mythology / Goddesses (nyo!engport)

A little explanation about this one! because it took me a lot of research XD.

They are Britannia and Lusitania, goddesses of the land.

I looked for a greek femenine pose which simbolized union above all. For England, I took the real avatar of the country, Britannia, which has a resemblance to Athena. I changed some things and colors, and added celtic simbols and Pict tattoos, to relate her with her ancestors.

For Portugal, I mixed more things: the Seas relationship she has since forever and because her mother, that's why the aquamarine colors. Her crown is made of fish tails and metal anchor; color are silverish related to the moon element. Then, I included my HC that one of her shapes is a marine dragon; that's why she is a mermaid (and we're en May so I've got that prompt too )?. Lavender dress for the national flower, and finally she has grapes as jewelry for her relationship with Dionisus, taken from the myth idea that Lusus, the ancient god - and founder of Portugal's land before Rome, was a son/lover of his (and the sexier part too).

- Britannia : born around 800BCE (beginning of British Iron Age); died around 500CE, but she had been getting weaker ever since Rome's forces left.

- Rome : born in 753BCE (Rome's fonding); died in 476CE, for obvious reasons

- Gaul (celtic) : born around 700BCE (between the Halstatt and La Tène cultures); died not long after the Gallic wars in 52BCE

- Germania : born around 750BCE (Nordic Iron Age) died not long after Rome's fall

- Frankish Kingdom/Empire: died in 843 (Treaty of Verdun), son of Germania

- Burgundian Kingdom/State: died in 1482 (end of the Burgundian War of Succession), daughter of Germania

- Frisian Kingdom: died 1523 (end or Frisian Freedom after a failed Frisian rebellion), son of Germania (and is either the biological or the adopted father of the Low Countries (or at least the Netherlands))

- France: born shortly before the Gallic Wars, son of Gaul

- England: born around 500 CE (first Anglo-Saxon kingdoms), he would fully become his "own" in 927 with the Kingdom of England, son of Britannia

- Spain: born somewhere during the Roman era, son of Rome

- Portugal: same as Spain, but earlier, son of Rome

- Netherlands: born shortly before the Roman conquest of Gaul (Belgae), son of idk who yet

- HRE: born in 486CE, when the Franks beat the Soissons Domain; died 1806 for obvious reasons, son of the Frankish Kingdom

- Middle Francia/Lotharingia: born in 843CE (Treaty of Verdun); died either 958CE (division of the Kingdom of Lotharingia) or 1190CE (Lower Lotharingia lost its territorial authority), daughter of the Frankish Kingdom

- Austrasia & Neustria: born in 511CE, died in 751CE, those boys were literally twins and they started the tradition of ✨️fratricide✨️ in the family (later carried on by France killing HRE), sons of the Frankish Kingdom

- Prussia: born 1226CE (creation of the State of the Teutonic Order)/born 1th century CE if we consider him an Old Prussian (Baltic tribe), son of how do I know

- Germany: born...1806(Confederation of the Rhine), 1815(German Confederation), 1866 (North German Confederation) or 1871 (Proclamation of the Reich)

Or he's HRE according to some... I don't know he's complicated...

Idk I just really, really fell in love with making parallels between Arthur, his scary mother, and his equally scary daughter.

I saw some Magical Strike art with Arthur with his Britannia Angel wings and I just 👀

Magical Strike verse where the Salaryman has a magic form just like Strike himself, but he lost the ability to use it long ago. Because his soul was crushed by capitalism or smth idk metaphors. Or maybe the company president did something to him as punishment. Either way, Arthur is wingless by the time Francis appears

Cue Magical Strike bringing joy back into Arthur’s life. Despite all of Arthur’s rebuffing and trying to stamp out these pesky feelings. Who has time for love and joy when you have college debt and deadlines?? But Francis is persistent and one day Arthur is so happy: poof! Suddenly his wings are back. He can fly again

(Francis says something wonderful and romantic about Arthur being his angel but I’m too tired to think of it)

Then Arthur joins Francis and they become a magical girl duo with the shared mission of workers rights for all! Going to fight Jones Corp. in pretty pink dresses and angel tunics wooo
