Here Ozma paused looking at him. Slowly Oscar nodded to show that he understood.
"Unfortunately when you were sent back, Oscar you had already started merging with Ozpin," explained Ozma, "The first things that merge are aura and magic. It's the simplest things to merge and they make the rest of the merge easier. Your aura was more than half way merged with ours. So when you were sent to the past your aura was torn as Ozpin here is still alive. A child with only half a soul."
Half a soul? Was that even possible? He thought back to Mantel and Penny. It was possible that he could only have half a soul. But why was he here?
Ozma gave him a look, "I know what you're thinking. Your friend was not a living being exactly. In our world a human cannot live with only half a soul. Thus why we are here."
Another shiver ran through him. The darkness that had been creeping in was far too close for comfort. Was that death? A part of him was tempted to just a step back. He was tired. Far more tired than he should be at his age. The war against Salem and Grim had taken its toll on him.
Ozma the look changed into a knowing one and he said, "You can if you want to. I won't blame you for wanting to find a peace that you don't have in this life."

Torchwick raised an eyebrow at the sight of his aura. Almost to himself he asked, "What is this kid made of? Spite?"
Before Oscar could stop himself he quipped back, "Caffeine and spite. What are you out of? Ginger"

Before the storm ch 15 snippet
"Torchwick that's a Beacon hoodie! There is no way he is a street brat."
Roman rolled his eyes as he replied, "I know that but you didn't see what happened. I reached for him to ask him why he was out alone."
"As you would do," muttered Junior sounding petulant.
He ignored the comment as they headed to the back room, "My fingers barely brushed his skin and his eyes were blown wide. There was a flash of weak aura."
Now there was a hint of concern in Junior's face, "How weak?"
They reached one of the many guest rooms and he shouldered the door open. It was a plain room. A bed was in the farthest corner with a nightstand next to it. There was a closet on the other side of the room but it was tiny.
Roman crossed the room in a few strides and laid the boy on the bed. He noted that there was a flush coming up the boy's face. It indicated a fever. One that he didn't have before having contact with Roman.
Junior upon seeing the fever like symptom had moved all the way back to the door. He was germaphobic and it was surprising that he wasn't in the otherside of the building. Roman rolled his eyes before he pressed two fingers into the side of the kid's neck. Again the aura flashed just as weak as before.
Definitely a semblance then. One that was activated by direct skin on skin contact. Roman removed his fingers once he had a heartbeat count. It was faster than it should be but it was strong. He replaced his gloves so to avoid activating the boy's semblance again.

Blaze had his team out searching the grounds. He had gotten the message from Ozpin asking for them to search for his son. Apparently the kid was lost in a flashback and was unable to be snapped out of it. The Headmaster didn't know what exactly had triggered it. If they found him he should send a message to Ozpin.
It was too bad that Navy had not had any physical contact with the kid. If he did then they could use his semblance to track Oscar. So instead they split up and searched the grounds and lower levels of the buildings.
Blaze was out in the grounds doing his search. Carefully he did a grid search looking for any signs of Oscar. He hoped that he didn't go into the forest. Even close to the school was the chance of Grim. From his understanding Oscar had been through enough trauma without adding a Grim attack to it.
At the end of the grid search of the forest he was about to head back towards the school. That was until he heard a quiet sniffle that sounded like a child trying not to cry. Blaze turned around listening closer now. His tracker instincts kicked into full gear.
A quiet sniffle sounded again. It was close but because of the trees he couldn't see where it was. For a moment he considered using his semblance but he wasn't sure if it would trigger a bad reaction. In the end he didn't use his semblance instead he slowly made his way closer.
Blaze looked around the trees to ensure no one was behind them. It did take ten long moments but he did finally find the boy. His legs were pulled up to his chest and his face was buried into his knees. There were shudders coming off Oscar making it obvious he was still struggling.
"Hey there," Softly called out Blaze causing the boy to jump in surprise and fear, "It's okay I'm not going to hurt you. Your dad sent me with some of the professors to find you."
