Grid Gala 2025

Back at it again with Grid Gala! This year's theme is Heavenly Bodies so I decided to go all out with wings. Because KingOh is very RPG-inspired, I wanted to lean into that a little more by looking up priests and clerics (I do not know much about it so correct me if I'm wrong lol).

The overall idea is to have Angels and Fallen Angels and considering the color schemes of the three, I thought it'd be perfect. Himeno's the angel, Morfonia fallen, and Rita is a split between the two bc of their neutrality.

Rita

I really wanted to see Rita in a three-piece suit and the way I wanted to design it is to make sure there are still elements that would connect them to butterflies.

Most of the inspo for the coat does come from their original concept design as I decided to have embroidery with the Gokkan sigil on the sash. It still has the snow effect but I also decided to have God Papillon's wing pattern on the coattails as well. I've thought about giving them Blue Admiral wing patterns but I thought paying homage to God Papillon would fit better.

The butterfly accessories were placed similarly to Rita having their earcuff and bracelet so the hairpin and broach were placed along the same line.

Himeno

I originally wanted to give Himeno this giant ballgown filled with flowers and such to represent Ishabana, but I realized my skills with that was limited. But what stayed from the original design is her hair which I wanted to point out to be styled like a bouquet of roses. I also had her blonde after some color testing and her usual blonde hair was perfect.

I then thought "Well she's named after the Orchid Mantis which uses camouflage to look like a flower so I can just... turn her into one" which led to her design. Her outer skirt would be flower petals while the inner skirt is similar to a mermaid skirt.

I also included a lot of mantis claws in the design because I noticed her outfits don't really use that much so i wanted to try that as it would also fit with Ishabana's sigil.

Morfonia

Morf, I always saw as someone who would wear something simple yet also elegant but also keeping the layered aspect of her character design.

Her dress has more liberty to be designed more like butterflies such as her bodice and outer skirt. The spot pattern and gradient is based off the Blue Morpho while the shine is more towards the Pearl Morpho.

I also added a matching hair ribbon so she and Rita can match.

Comfort Items

I dunno why but I feel like Gokkan would have stockpiles of preserved or ready-made food items for emergencies because it's a tundra so Rita would sometimes have cup ramen late at night while working. Himeno never had any bc why would the Queen of Ishabana eat that when she has servants available 24/7 that can whip something fast and simple for her? But she likes it after insisting on staying in Gokkan for a night while the two are working and was feeling peckish. The three would just chill and chat over some while Rita gets some last-minute work done lol

POV: KingOhger Otome Game but the Rita Route has 2 Rivals.

Difficulty Levels:

Gira ★★☆☆☆ - very friendly. Just dense and is hinted to have something with Yanma or Jeramie depending on choices.

Yanma ★★☆☆☆ - his bad boy behavior tends to make him verbally lash out when embarrassed. Gira, the dense boi he is, tends to interrupt.

Kaguragi ★★★☆☆ - often quizzed on certain topics. Very manipulative. Suzume is your rival bc he's always worrying about her.

Jeramie ★★★★☆ - Low self-esteem so you gotta befriend him. Mistakes makes him pull away easily. Main rival is his best friend, Gerojim.

Rita ★★★★★ - Often avoided by players due to having 2 rivals and they're dense as f-. Actually ends with friendship (bc dense and supposedly taken)

Himeno ★★★★☆ - High difficulty bc of her selfishness and spending more time with the other Kings. Gotta woo her away from Rita. Also has 2 servants constantly getting in the way.

Racles ★★★★★ - Secret route. Must complete all routes and befriend Kaguragi. Suzume is your main rival. Hard to beat because he's not interested in romance.

The Baby Situation

No, but I've been thinking a LOT when it comes to the world building and answering the "how in the fck would Rita and Himeno have a child if we don't know what Rita's bio gender is?" question from episode 36.

Incubators.

From the information I've gathered from (re)watching the season, something that has been pretty well shown without making a huge fuss about it was how open the world of Chikyuu is when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community. Not only has Rita's lack of disclosing their gender to anyone has been accepted, but also the fact that people of all genders were competing for Himeno's hand in marriage in Episode 36 if you look at the crowd gathered. And Episode 36 also made me believe that Chikyuu does, in fact, believe in self-affirming care.

And in terms of technology in medicine, Ishabana seems to be able to accomplish a lot including being able to create an antidote for a space poison as well as N'kosopa being able to create artificial organs even if they're at testing stages.

So basically the idea is that Ishabana does provide healthcare and family options for different types of relationships. So same-sex and genderqueer relationships can have the option of having and raising a child if adoption is not an option.

Now for the incubators, it's more or less a choice that isn't common but still an option available. Not everyone is able to safely have a child and not everyone wants to put the pressure on a surrogate. So an option with Chikyuu's technology would be incubators.

I'm not gonna go into full details bc it's mainly just toku shenanigans, but I'd like to think that's a viable option.

TL;DR Ishabana is literally just peak healthcare.
