Madame Rouge and Irises are the last of the samplers of chunky merino, spun yesterday and plied today. Today, I got to move onto the Hipstrings samplers, starting with Raspberry Chocolate and Deciduous.
I really like the colors in Deciduous. While spinning, reminded me of the blend I made and spun last March. However, when I checked back on that project, it had a lot more blues.

new spin! This is something I picked up at Maryland Sheep and Wool this year as a gift for a family friend. The blues and turquoises are so vibrant and it drafts like warm butter; it is so SMOOTH and SOFT ugh it's an absolute delight.
I decided to split each braid into 3, keep one section as is, mirror one section, and then swap the last second between the braids. Hoping it turns out well and blends the colors alright in a 3-ply yarn. The single is giving 25-22 WPI and a plyback (3-ply) is giving about 11 WPI. I'm aiming for a DK so that's roughly on target.
Fiber: Never Going to Give You Up from HipStrings- it's polwarth 80% and mulberry silk 20%.

bonus question: where do you get your roving and yarn? Thank you so much again ^_^
Thanks for asking!
I have a bit of eclectic sources for my fiber and yarn.
I have inherited THREE separate stashes, bought one when I purchased my rigid heddle looms, and have shopped for quite a bit myself.
I (somehow) don't have any local yarn stores (LYS) in my area, despite having seven Michaels, three JOANN, and four Hobby Lobby in the same area. So most of my in-person purchases of yarn have been through them over the last few years.
I have a few online shops I like for yarn, but I have been trying to use up my stash(es) before purchasing too much more.
Wool and Co. : https://www.woolandcompany.com/
Knit Picks : https://www.knitpicks.com/
Premier Yarns : https://www.premieryarns.com/
WEBS : https://www.yarn.com/
Hobium : https://www.hobiumyarns.com/
Yarnspirations : https://www.yarnspirations.com/
Hobbii : https://hobbii.com/
For roving and fiber, I've actually gotten most of it through my Weaving Guild. (Not helpful, sorry!)
There are quite a few great sources for fiber, though!
RH Lindsay : https://rhlindsaywool.com/
World of Wool (UK) : https://www.worldofwool.co.uk/
The Woolery : https://woolery.com/
Revolution Fibers : https://revolutionfibers.com/
Etsy : https://www.etsy.com/
(Be sure to check out craftwithcolour, beesybee, ChameleonFiberCo, FatCatKnits, hipstrings, and so many other talented artists!)
Fossil Fibers : https://www.fossilfibers.com/
Once you start exploring, you'll see there's quite a bit of online stores that do both yarn and fiber, but some lean more towards one market or the other.
Please keep in mind I haven't bought through every supplier listed (yet), but I have heard good things about if I haven't used them myself.
Reddit is usually a really good source for finding more sources, too.
I hope this helps you get started!

Maryland Sheep and Wool haul! I went by myself this year and it was chilly and rainy but i had a wonderful time! Helping my partner at craft markets over the last year has made me much more comfortable with shopping at small booths and talking to artists and shop keepers about their stuff.
Left to right, I have hand-dyed wool yarn from Novajo Dine' Weavers, a collection of a acrylic spinning tools from HipStrings, goat milk soap, puni stick (used for prepping fiber, but I plan on using it as a spindle. More on that another day), hand dyed wool socks from Wellspring Farm, some absolutely GORGEOUS 50/50 wool and silk blend roving from The Good Shepherd, and black/brownish red alpaca roving from an alpaca named Aimee at Alford Family Farms and Spinnery.

Black Pearl 2 from Hipstrings is a merino/pearl (rayon) blend. I'm onto the third 2 ounce bobbin and liking it. It is greyer than I was remembering, but is nice.

making progress with my spindle spinning! Using the supported spindle is so fun, but it’s tricky to get used to. I'm not making a consistent yarn yet, but I'm getting there! I think I'd have an easier time if the fiber wasn't so stuck together. (Maybe steaming it would help?) It's turning out to be a lovely mauve color.
Fiber: Sophisticat from Living Dreams Yarn (100% merino)
Spindle: Squall from HipStrings (plus matching bowl)

Little haul from hipstrings. Ordering some of the stuff from vendors I would have bought from at Maryland sheep & wool festival. Since the festival was cancelled I'm still trying to support our fiber artist community. I adore hipstrings, I order stuff from them several times a year. I love their tags too, I fill out the back and attach it to the skein, and then I often attach it to the finished knit item too.
