Courting Gift | Alpha!Todoroki x Omega!Reader

it wasnt uncommon practice for people to give handmade gifts when they wanted to start the courting process

you just never expected to get one so out of the blue

i mean no ones really ever expressed interest in you directly

so when you walked into the classroom your friend group was surrounding your desk

“y/n look! it seems youve got a courting gift!”

mina waved you over to your desk where a box laid

everyone was curious as to who gave you the gift

it wasnt a scent any of them recognized so it must have been someone only you knew

you slowly picked up the box and opened it

you pulled out a necklace that had a handmade pendant on it

you smelled it and instantly recognized it as someone you had bumped into the other day at the convince store

you then pulled out a note from the box with the alpha asking to meet with you

todoroki sat in his chair closely examining your every expression

he was really disgruntled that you were getting a courting gift

but he wasnt going to let anyone know that

though his scent alerted the person next to him that he was less than happy about this

izuku quickly turned to look at his friend

“todoroki youre starting to smell a bit off you need to calm down before everyone else notices”

izuku offered a smile to todoroki and usually it helped him when he was getting upset

but this was different

his alpha was getting really anxious at the thought of losing you

he watched as you put the necklace back into the box and smiled at everyone trying to get their attention elsewhere

to your relief mr aizawa came in and started class

when lunch came around you found todoroki and sat with him

“hey todoroki! how are you?”

you tried to get a response out of him but he just nodded his head to acknowledge you

maybe he was just having a bad day but that didnt stop your omega from whimpering

you had always had a crush on the man next to you but you never could gather the courage to give him a courting gift

both if you sat in silence for the rest of lunch and everyone else around you noticed how awkward it was between you two

soon the school day came to an end and before you could leave mina basically jumped onto your back

“y/n! so are you going to go meet that alpha? that necklace he gave you was really pretty!”

todoroki was getting visibly upset now

he was squeezing his desk so hard he was shaking

as soon as you left though the classroom started to smell like smoke and gasoline

bakugo scrunched his nose

“who the hell smells so awful”

but that question was quickly answered when todoroki stood up from his desk and left, the leg of it bent from where his hand was holding it

later that night you came back to the dorms and your friends told you about what happened after you left

“im telling you y/n! i really think todoroki likes you! he seemed really upset after you left”

“yeah i think that you should go talk to him y/n. i dont think we want the class to smell that bad again”

you nodded your head and left to go find him

but not before you stopped by your room to pick something up

you ended up at his door, izuku told you he was most likely there

and judgeing from the smell that was seeping out he definitely was

you knocked on the door

“todoroki? its me can i come in?”

you heard shuffling before the door swung open

you walked in and gave him a concerned look

“todoroki...whats wrong? i heard that you didnt have a great day..”

he wanted to let it all out, his emotions, his thoughts, how he was terrified to lose you

but he didnt want to freak you out

so he took a deep breath

“nothing. im fine”

your face was laced with confusion

he usually always talks it out with you

“cmon dont be like that! i wanna know how i can help”

you took his hands in yours and smiled

and he started to relax

but then he noticed a chain around your neck

probably the necklace that alpha gave you

you probably accepted if your wearing it

he then let go of your hands

“leave y/n i want to be alone”

he looked at you with a glare that you had only seen him give to his father

“get the hell out of here and go back that alpha of yours. just the thought if him makes me sick”

that last part was quieter than the beginning

you would be lying if you said you didnt think that he was acting like this because if that

the pendant was one he had never seen before

definitely not the same one you had received earlier

“todoroki, would you accept this courting gift from me?”

he was so shocked he couldnt move

he slowly nodded his head and you let out a deep breath

“oh thank god you had left me hanging there for a moment and i thought it couldn’t breathe”

in one quick motion todoroki pulled you into his arms and was hugging you so tight he was almost trembling

the next day at school you had a blue and red beaded bracelet on and smelled suspiciously similar to todorokis sandalwood and lavender scent
