so i've been playing Hollow Knight with a mod on that poorly translates the game into a bunch of languages and then back to english, and here's a few screenshots of some funnies that i've seen throughout various saves.

Spoilers for Hollow Knight ahead.

"Ah, you seem to have made peace with your regrets in a most novel, and dare I say brutal, fashion. What a joy to behold." - Jiji, after watching the Knight defeat it's Shade.

The fact that Jiji - a specialist in this matter - finds this to be a novel method is interesting. This very much implies that beating Shades into submission is not how it's usually done where she comes from. Which also implies that there are multiple methods for dealing with them.

The Void Heart pacifies the Shades, binding them to the bearer's will. Both Jiji and Jinn note that possession of the Void Heart makes the Knight similar to their Masters. (Though they don't mention the Void Heart - only the change it causes in the Knight. They may be unaware of its existence, or their Masters draw their power from a different source with a similar effect.)

Jiji's surprise about the Shade's hostility - and the Knight returning that hostility - is subtle world-building nodding towards the possibility that her Masters have Void Hearts of their own, or at least something similar. The Shades in her homeland are already pacified - hostility in the process is new to her.

Old Experimental Coloring Technique with Old Coloring Pencils again

Listen listen, I swear, my coloring technique did not degrade since the Child of Light antags, the Librarian from Tunic, and the Phantom Virus from Scooby-doo, I’m just stubborn about consistency within a multi-pictured artwork project, like with these TY and Hollow Knight pieces.

However, I’ll go back to the current technique after I get these out of the way, which should beeeeee… three HK ones and eight TY ones, with one TY piece being in an Old Coloring Technique and the other seven testing other outlining and coloring styles.

(totally not thinking about re-doing a bunch of HK character pics I did with the Current Coloring Technique, making a lot of these redundant)
