Loki Season 2 Finale Spoilers!

I'm no pro at Norse Myth, I merely have a fascination with it.

Now, everyone knows Loki creating Yggdrasil.

Magnificent. I teared up and was very happy to see the world tree.

But also...Hlidskjalf.

I believe anyway. Though Odin did sit upon his throne in Asgard. If Loki can see everything from his throne, then this could perhaps also be a reference to that.

Though it could very well just be Loki liking thrones.

Loki x wife!Reader Headcanons [throughout the MCU]

Thor1 Loki: He's so soft soft baby TM and caring and always so sweet to you, in private or in public. Love is overflowing! Always kissing you and spoiling you. Not handsy but is always hand holding, or wraps arm around your waist. 2x Verbal Admiration than when he courted you. Favorite thing in the world is your blush and your laugh. You make him melt and he worships the ground you walk on. Gifts, LOTS of gifts. 

"i don't deserve you, y/n."  "If You don't deserve me, no one else does." 

💕How is the love-making?: Soft and Full of emotion! Worships your body; worships You. He'll make you understand why it's called love-making. Frequent eye contact because he loves getting lost in your eyes. Asgard who? (Odin has to forbid you from seeing Loki at work hours because it distracts him😂)

Avengers1 Loki: won't even look you in the eye, ignores your presence like his heritage. When you do manage to get a word with him, he'll Loki-talk you (i.e. vague words with ambiguous meanings that can be interpreted any way) into thinking he's been cheating on you (LIES). Not even a decent answer. Refuses to give you anything but his ire.

💕Um.. love-making..?: most probably not, he's busy being Villain TM. But if you do manage to, he'll end up leaving you unsatisfied or humiliated, tossing you away like a rag doll -anything to make you think he's a bad guy (He's not. But you have to, otherwise The Other might hurt you too.)

TDW Loki: he'd still keep up the A1 facade and if you still want him, he'll be mean and act borderline disrespectful, claiming it's your duty as his wife. But in reality, he only wants to hurt you because spending the rest of his life locked up will be easier with you hating him. Looks at you longingly from his cell with an inexplicable sadness in his eyes, but will aboslutely deny it. 

"I know you wouldn't invade Midgard simply for power. I know you are above that, Loki."  "It is 'my Prince' to you. And, I'd rather you stick to your duties as just my wife." 

💕Smut?: Sure, if you hide it from Odin's knowledge. Lots of degradation, though. You can see the apology on his face, feel the desperation on his touch and hear the veiled sadness is his piercing words. His body language is begging you to stay, yearning for you and hoping you'd understand. Once it's over, he won't even look at your eyes knowing if he does, he can't be mean to you. What hurts him should make him stronger. 

TR Loki: After he shockingly discovered his mysterious survival, he ran back to the palace in search of you. But got to Odin first and.. y'know. He's successfully avoided any romance with you thanks to his disguise, but yearning is on the double when he sees the depth of your devotion. 

"All-Father, I wish to petition a statue on my... late husband's behalf. Of him, of what he's done for Asgard."  "He's a traitor and a convict."  "Who gave his life in atonement. It was a misguided atte-"  "Misguided!? Is that what you call acting against the Hlidskjalf? He invaded Midgard and took innocent lives!"  "And paid for it with his own. I beg your reconsideration, All-Father."  *After a long, scrutinizing pause* "The council will decide." "T-thank you, All-Father."  *Loki as Odin looks at you bow and retreat, sadness in his eyes* 'Oh, my love, how do you still love me after all I've done to you?' 

After evading death by planetary destruction and back in the Statesman hale, healthy and alive, he makes up for earlier. You refuse to accept, still feeling bitter, but Loki has his ways ;) 

💕How so? 👀: As I said, making up. For dayyyys. Lots of apologizing, lots of begging and even the occasional spanking. Many, many rounds even. Thor is quite concerned. Wait, why is Loki carrying you everywhere, can't you wal- OH. 

IW Loki: If you thought you knew how much he loves you (in Thor1), oh baby, you're about to be proven wrong. F*cking killed Thanos in, like, 2 seconds max. All it took was Big Ugly Grape-head to see you and give a creepy smile, the next minute he's lying headless on the ground, his army dissipating into dust. 

"The tesseract or yo-" *gets decapitated by Loki* 

❓And the love-making?: .... uh, doubtful.. Thor is busy choking your husband about why the f*ck he didn't say anything of having the tesseract. (Seriously, Thor, how else did you think he survived a planetary level destruction!? *exasperated sigh*)

Servamp April Fools' event

Tanaka Strike reposted the event from 2023 that was about voting for characters' abilities/techniques. The first time I didn't look into the the event and I was surprised to see that among the abilities that were listed, there were a few that were revealed later in the manga,  for example Kuro's Wiedergänger (Ashes to ashes, dust to dust) that appeared in chapter 133.

In March 2023, chapter 128 was published, so it was 5 chapters later when the name of the ability was introduced in the story.

For the event, some characters have abilities that were marked as “lies” because they didn't appear in the manga however, Kuro’s ability was marked as a lie but that was actually true after all!

So yeah, Tanaka-sensei was playing with us. xD Abilities have two readings and you'll see that some of them either have one reading which is different or they some readings were assigned to other characters.

Mahiru: “Why is truth and falsehoods mixed in? Only the actual abilities should be voted!

This is a reference to “Gear of Night Trick” on TanakaBox and that’s why I worded the translation like this. The clock referenced here must be Hlidskjalf. I wrote about it here when I posted chapter 96.

In chapter 125 when Jeje was given his name by Mikuni, his contract item was the winding key from the music box that Kiriko gave to Mikuni and I read that fans discovered that the song it was playing was "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"

Turandot (None shall sleep) Like I mentioned in the beginning, this is one ability that was given a different reading. The actual one is "The king is absent today as well." "None shall sleep " (Nessun dorma) is an aria from the final act of Turandot.

Mahiru: You had a technique like that?

Lily: Fufufu...Well… you could say it exists, or you could say it doesn't. Reality is such an uncertain thing. You should also be careful.

MISONO

Bridge falling down (The king is absent today as well)

So yeah, it's Misono and Lily that had their ability names switched and were also given different readings. The different reading is most likely a reference to the nursery rhyme "London Bridge Is Falling Down". And we don't have Misono, we have Mikado who comments about the ability xD

Mikado: Didn't Misono have a powerful technique like that?! Did you make it sound like it existed, Dodo?! Dodo: I included it as an option. Mikado: Nice work! Just for today, even a lie is permitted. I can’t believe Misono had only one technique, and it was from ten years ago (in real time)…As a parent I must do behind-the-scenes... Dodo: Young master is already in high-school...It's about time you... Mikado: This is a parent's duty! Should I add another one?!

SAKUYA

I will die yesterday by your side (Five-minute hypothesis theory)

Sakuya used this ability in chapter 139, however in the manga it says five "seconds" not minutes. The first reading sounds weird...Like, I haven't found a reference for it. "To die" is in the present tense even though it says "yesterday", so yeah, it's weird. I expected that it would be the name of a novel but I haven't found anything, so if some of you might have an idea about it, let me know!

Sakuya: I used this ability in the fight against Mahiru, didn’t I? It was such an emotional technique where I self-destructed to protect him. Tsubaki: Have you actually been reading Servamp??

Mahoroba (Under the moonlit night, rain and carnage)

Mahoroba isn't something that can be translated. It's a term that refers to an idyllic or perfect place, often associated with paradise or a beautiful land. The dictionary defines it as "great and splendid land (of Yamato)"

The other name of the ability is the title of chapter 84, which I initially translated as "On a moonlit night, rain and bloodshed"

Tsubaki: I don't recall mentioning such a technique name, but it seems okay as it is.

Ultimate Super Wars (Super Ultimate Form-Tsubaki-)

Tsubaki had another ability and when I googled アルティメットスーパーウォーズ a novel, I assume, showed up but I couldn't find much about it. Based on the cover of the book, I thought it was adapted based on a videogame but I didn't find a game with that title, so yeah, the name of the ability might not be related to it. Regarding these kanji 津薔鬼, they spell Tsubaki.

Tsubaki: Are there people who actually call me by such uncool name?

VİKİNG MİTOLOJİSİ - NESIR EDDA

Dünyanın oluşumundan yıllar önce Niflheim vardı ve onun altındaki kuyudan nehirler fışkırmaktaydı. Kutsal Yggdrasil ağacının üç kök altında, evrenin en altında yer alan bu soğuk, karanlık ve sisli bölgede bahar yaşanmaz.

“Ölüler diyarı olan ve ismini Loki’nin çocuğundan alan Hel’in  büyük bir kısmı burada yer almaktadır. Aynı zamanda İngilizce'deki Hell kelimesi burada bahsedilen Ölüler ülkesinin (Hellheim) kısaltması Hel'den gelir.”

Güneyde ise Muspelheim adında bir dünya vardır. Burası dayanılmayacak şekilde aydınlık ve sıcaktır; o kadar parlaktır ki kimse burada yaşayamamaktadır. Bu dünyanın sınırlarını da Surtr adı verilen bir dev-kişi korumaktadır. Buradaki Surtr karakteri aynı zamanda mitin sonunda dünyaya son verecek kişidir.  Mitolojilerde sıklıkla gördüğümüz dualist zıtlık burada da kendine buz ve ateş olarak yer bulmaktadır.

Başlangıçta hiçbir şey yokken bu iki dünya vardır ve Niflheim’dan fışkıran buz gibi sularla Muspelheim’ın alevleri bir yerde karşılaşmaktadır. Burada oluşan buhar damlalarının canlanmasıyla Ymir(Ymer) isimli dev dünyaya gelmiştir. O bir tanrı değildir, İskandinavlar’a göre tüm kötü devlerin atasıdır. Böylece Kaos oluşmuştur.

Buzlar çözülünce buz kütlelerinin arasından Audhumbla isimli bir inek oluşur. Bu inek memelerinden akan sütle Ymir’i besler. Kendiyse beslenmek için buzla kaplı tuzlu taşları yalamaktadır ve yaladığı taşlardan 3 gün sonucunda bir erkek meydana gelmiştir. Bu adamın adı Bure’dir. Bure’nin Bor isimli bir oğlu olur ve Bor da Bestia isimli bir devin kızıyla evlenir. Nihayetinde Bor ve Bestia’nın da üç erkek çocukları olur, bunlardan ilki de tanrıların tanrısı Odin’dir.

Bor’un oğulları, yani Odin ve kardeşleri Ymir’i alt ederler. Ymir’in cesedini alıp onun etlerinden yeryüzünü, kanından denizleri, kemiklerinden kayaları, saçlarından ağaçları, kafatasından göğü, kaşlarından ise Midgaard adı verilen yeri yaratmışlardır. Asgard Kuruluyor - Odin ve güçleri.

Odin'in sadece güneş gibi parlayan tek bir gözü vardır. Diğer gözünü Bilgelik Kuyusundan içebilmek için feda etmiş ve sonsuz bilgi elde etmiştir. Habercileri Valkyrie’ler ölü savaşçıların ruhlarını Valhalla’ya taşırlar. İngilizcedeki Wednesday (Çarşamba) günü Woden's Day (Odin'in Günü) den gelmektedir. Tacitus gibi Romalı yazarlar tarafından Merkür'le özdeşleştirilmiştir. Avrasya Şamanizm'iyle bağlantılı olduğu düşünülmekte ve bir yandan da Truva’dan geldiğine dair araştırmalar yapılmaktadır. Manzum Edda’nın Valhalla’da yaşam kısmında Odin’in yemeğe ihtiyaç duymadığını, onun için şarabın yeterli olduğu ifadesi geçmektedir.

Odin dünyanın orta yerinde bir şehir kurmuş buraya da Asgard demiştir. Burada 12 yönetici koltuğu barındıracak ve kendi yüksek makamı olacak altın kaplı bir saray inşa ettirmiştir. Buraya Gladsheim adı verilmektedir ve sonrasında tanrıçalar için de Vingolf adında bir saray yaptırılmıştır. Odin, Asgard’daki Hlidskjalf denilen bir tahta oturunca tüm dünyayı ve herkesin ne iş yaptığını görebilmektedir. *burada birçok diğer inanışta olduğu gibi tanrıya her şeyi görme yetisi bahşedildiğini görüyoruz. Odin’in omuzlarında iki kuzgun oturduğuna inanılmaktadır. Bunların adı Hugin ve Munin’dir. Odin bu ikisini şafakla dünyaya salar ve kahvaltıdan önce geri dönerler. Böylece yeryüzünün haberlerini almaktadır.

Tanrı Soyları – Aesir ve Vanirler

İskandinav tanrıları iki grupta toplanır; Aesir ve Vanir tanrıları. Vanir tanrıları daha çok bereketle anılmaktadır. Bu sebeple yerli balıkçılar gibi daha çok üreticiler içinde karşılık bulmuş inanışlardır. Vanirler hakkında çok yazılı kaynak olmadığı için Aesir tanrıları kadar bilgiye ulaşılamamaktadır. Birçok bilim insanına göre Uranos-Gaia nasıl Yunan mitolojisinde Zeus’un öncülleri ise Vanir’ler de burada Aesir’den önceki grubu oluşturmaktadır ve daha çok yeryüzü ile ilgilenmektedirler. Viking panteonunda iki grubun huzur içinde farklı şehirlerde yaşadığı belirtilmektedir ancak geçmişlerinde aralarında çok büyük bir savaş yaşanmış ve bu bazı tanrıların değiş tokuş edilmesiyle son bulmuştur. Vanir grubunun en önemli isimleri baba Njord ve bereket ve refah tanrısı olan Freyr’dir. Alışılageldik şekilde büyük bir penis ile betimlenir. Dişi karşılığı ise erotik tutkusu ve yüksek cinsel vurgusuyla Freyr’in kardeşi Freyja’dır.

Odin ve soyundan gelen kişiler Asa/Aesir adıyla anılmaya başlamışlardır ve Odin’e baş tanrı anlamında Alfather denilmektedir.  Thor, Odin’in ilk oğludur. Thor tüm tanrıların ve insanların en güçlüsü olarak anılır ve Yunan mitolojisindeki Zeus ile özdeşleştirilir. İkinci oğlu ise Balder’dir.  Balder yakışıklılığı, zekiliği ve iyi huyluluğuyla çok iyi anılan bir asadır. Diğer aesir soyunu uzatarak yazmıyorum ancak aşağıda asaları ve tanrıçaları listeledim. Buradaki her ismin kendine ait bir hikayesi var diyebiliriz. Detaylandırmak istenirse raflardaki birçok Viking mitolojisi eserinde detaylı şekilde anlatılıyor. Bu yazıda ana gidişe bağlı kalacak olsam da bundan sonraki gönderilerde bazı özel ve güzel bulduğum hikayeleri de anlatıyor olacağım.

Dipnot: Edda’larda her zaman kutsanan on iki tanrı olduğu belirtilmektedir.  Ancak Brage, Vale gibi isimlerle bu liste yukarda olduğu gibi yaklaşık 20 kişiyle anılmaktadır. Tanrıçaların sayısınınsa genel olarak 26 olduğu düşünülmektedir .

İnsanın Ortaya Çıkışı

İnsanların ortaya çıkışı ise Bor’un oğulları Odin ve kardeşlerinin deniz kıyısında yürürken iki ağaca rastlamasıyla açıklanmaktadır. Bu ağaçları alıp insana dönüştürürler. Birinciye ruh ve can verirler, ikincisine mantık ve hareket yeteneği, üçüncüye ise konuşma, işitme ve görme yeteneği bahşetmişlerdir. Erkeğe Askr, kadına ise Embla demişlerdir.  Bu insanlara Midgaard adında bir şehir kurulmuştur. Dünyadan tanrıların katına giden bir yol bulunmaktadır. Mitolojide buraya da Bifrost adı verilmiştir. Oldukça sağlam olduğuna inanılan bu yapı gökkuşağı tasvirindedir ve üç renklidir. Bu gökkuşağındaki kırmızı rengin ateş olduğuna inanılır. Bu ateşin cenneti, buz ve dağ devlerinin kötülüklerinden koruduğuna inanılmaktadır. Ulu dişbudak ağacı Yggdrasil’in bir kökü bu cennettedir. İskandinav mitolojisinde dişbudak ağacı Yddragasil çok önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Daha sonraki Türk mitolojisi yazılarımda da değineceğim üzere birçok mitte olduğu gibi kutsal ağaç imgesi burada da güçlü şekilde bulunmaktadır.  Bu dişbudak ağacın dalında, altında, üstünde yaşadığı düşünülen birçok hayvan anlatısı bulunmaktadır.

Dünyanın Sonuna Hazırlık: Loki ve Çocukları

Loki çok yakışıklı bir tanrıdır ancak birçoklarına göre kötü ve tutarsız bir karaktere sahiptir. Sürekli dolandırıcılık yaptığı anlatılır. Çoğu kez Aesirleri birbirine düşürüp sözde aralarını bulur. Karısının adı Sygin, oğullarının adı ise Vali ve Narfi’dir. Loki’nin başka çocukları da vardır ve mitolojide asıl yer tutan bunlardır. Jotunheim’da Angerboda isimli bir dev anasından üç çocuğu olur. Bunlardan ilki onunla özdeşleşen ve mitlerde çok önemli yer tutan Fenrir-Kurt, ikincisi yine onunla özdeşlenen  Jormungard- yılan ve üçüncüsü de cehenneme ismini veren Hel’dir.

Tanrılar esasında bu çocukların anne ve babalarından aldıkları özelliklerle ileride büyük felaketlere yol açacaklarını öngörmüşlerdir. Odin tanrıları görevlendirir ve çocuklar ona getirtilir. Odin, yılan Jormungard’ı denizin dibine atar, buna içerleyen yılan oknayusun altında tüm dünyayı kuşatır ve kendi kuyruğunu ısırmaktadır. Odin, Hel’i Niflheim’a atar ve ona dokuz dünyayı yönetme yetkisi verir. Kurt Fenrir ise Aesir’ler tarafından büyütülür. Onu drome adı verdikleri zincir ile bağlı tutarlar. İlerde Tyr bu uğurda elinden bile olacaktır. Ragnarok’a kadar kurt Fenrir bağlı kalacaktır ancak daha sonra kurtulup dünyanın sonunun gelmesinde etkin bir rol üstlenecektir.

Fenrir’in bu denli tehlikeli olmasına rağmen tanrıların onu öldürmemesi, “Tanrıların kutsal yerlere ve ibadethanelere karşı son derece saygılı olduklarından, kahinlerin onun Odin’in başına bela olacağına söylemesine karşın buraları kurdun kanı ile kirletmek istemediler” şeklinde açıklanmaktadır.

The Punishment of Loki by Louis Huard (1813-1874)

Loki ise kurnazlıklarıyla daha sonra Baldr’ın ölümüne sebep olacaktır, bu hikayeyi ayrıca gönderi olarak oluşturacağım ancak bahsetmek gerektiği için birkaç satır değinmek gerekiyor. Loki’nin bu günahı sonrası tanrılar ona çok kızar. Loki göreceği tepkiyi bildiği için somon balığına dönüşür ve saklanmaya başlar ancak her şeyi gören Odin bir şekilde onu denizde yakalatır. Onu bir mağaraya getirirler. Daha sonra Loki’nin oğulları Vali ve Nare getirilir ve Vali kurda dönüştürülür ve Nare bu kurda parçalatılır. Tanrılar onun bağırsakları ile Loki’yi bağlarlar ve bu bağırsaklar zamanla demir zincir gibi sertleşir. Üstüne yılan asılır ve bunun zehri yıllarca yüzüne akıtılacaktır. Depremlerin Loki’nin bu acı dolu kıvranmalarından çıktığına inanılmaktadır. Loki Ragnarok’a kadar böyle kalacaktır.

Ragnarok – Dünyanın Sonu

Ragnarok dünyanın sonunu ifade etmektedir. Ancak bundan önce hiç yaz olmadan uzunca bir süre kış Fimbul diye uzun bir kışın yaşandığı düşünülür. Dünyanın dört bir yanında savaşlar yaşanmış, kardeşler çıkarları uğruna birbirlerini öldürmüş, yasadışı ilişkiler yaşanmıştır. Görüyoruz ki ahlaksal yapının çöküşü ve uzun kıtlık dünyanın sonunun habercisi olarak algılanmaktadır.

Daha sonra büyük ve şaşırtıcı bir olay yaşanacaktır. Kurt Skoll güneşi, kardeşi Hati ise ayı yutup tüketeceklerdir. Böylece dünyada sıkıntılar doğacak ve nihayetinde Fenrir zincirlerinden kurtulacaktır.  Kurt fenrir düşmanlarını yok etmek için üst çenesini cennete, alt çenesi ise yeryüzüne değecek kadar açmıştır. Odin kurt Fenrir’le, Thor ise yılan Midgard ile savaşmaktadır.  Thor yılanı öldürür ancak henüz 9 dokuz adım atmadan kendi de onun zehriyle ölecektir. Kurt Odin’i alt edip onu yutar. Daha sonra Odin’in oğlu Vidar kurdu öldürecek bile olsa sonunda Alfather gitmiştir. Loki ile Heimdal ile savaşa tutuşmuştur ve bu kavgada her ikisi de can verecektir.

Tüm bunların üzerine Surt dünyayı ateşe verir ve her şeyi yakıp kül eder. Fakat antik Hindistan’da çağlar geçince Ragnarok sonrası yeni bir dünya doğacaktır.

alrighty i finally have time to answer this ask !! :D since you're a follower of bragi im assuming you know the basics and the most popular stories surrounding these three, so im gonna talk about a different poem involving them! specifically hrafnagaldr odins , roughly translated to be "odin's raven magic" iirc.

it's not a very well studied or often translated poem, and it was removed from the poetic edda for reasons i can't recall. anyhow, it gives some interesting information on idunn specifically, and is a pretty mysterious poem.

to do a quick overview:

it begins with some ominous scene setting, then goes on to explain how a woman, who is often identified as idunn (though she has been identified as others too) had fallen out of yggdrasil. the gods give her a wolf skin to wear, and here she is identified to be of ivaldis children and said to be of dwarven descent (though iirc, other translations say she is of elven descent).

odin sends heimdallr, loki, and bragi out to ask the woman some questions about the future and the world and if she knew anything about it. he watches from hlidskjalf. idunn, however, only responds with crying. loki and bragi are apprehensive about it, and there's a part where heimdallr begins to become lightheaded.

heimdallr and loki return to the gods while bragi stays behind with idunn to watch her, and heimdallr delivers the news of their unsuccessful mission to the gods while loki delivers news to the goddesses. the poem ends with heimdallr blowing into gjallarhorn.

if you want to read the poem yourself, here is a link to one translation! there some pretty good notes and commentary i enjoyed looking at there, i also used it as a reference for this. afaik, this myth hasn't been recounted anywhere else aside from this poem. (and iirc, this poem is likely to have been written post snorri's edda, with the edda as a reference)

so it's not exactly discourse between bragi and loki, nor are they really central to the poem, but they're there and idunn's appearance here is quite interesting and gives us some neat info ! i hope this gives you some food for thought and general information anon ^_^ !!
