Dude that au thing is so fucking cool!!!
i assume this is about the double e au? thanks! the concept is actually over a year old - its the first hatchetfield fic idea i ever had so i actually dont remember how i came up with it. i just know that most of the first notes/bits of writing were written in a light-up rocket notebook while i should have been paying attention in class or doing dt coursework :). some of the fist starkid fanart i ever drew was for this au. the reason its only now being posted is that i was never able to come up with an overarching plot, so i didnt want to start posting a fic that wasnt going anywhere. it was actually the way that @andie-cake is posting hohf that gave me the idea that i could just post it in bits and pieces without it needing an overall plot, so it is now about to be a non-chronological series of Shennanigans.

Here's how HoHF would've proceeded (part 1 out of i don't fucking know)!
Like Clockwork/Monsters in the Lakeside Mall/The Untitled Mindwalker Fic/Whatever The Fuck I Was Gonna Call This Thing
As the title- or lack there of, implies, this was going to be the fic that introduced Mindwalker!Holloway into the series. Not just her though, but also Duke, Webby, Web Witch!Hannah (harnesses Webby's power to fight), Beambust!Lex (can teleport herself and other objects, often uses it to enhance her melee combat), and Shadow Scout!Ethan (doesn't have powers, but he wanted to support his gf so here he is).
This fic would've seen them being called to investigate a break-in at Lakeside Mall in the dead of night, seemingly done by a hoard of mysterious monsters. The monsters, of course, were Sniggles, and the break-in was orchestrated by the Clockwork King, aka, Sherman Young. His goal was to steal an array of differently colored fabrics to make "carriers of his Masters' essence", if you catch my drift ;)
Upon being caught, Clockwork King!Sherman leaves our heroes with a riddle. "The hero born from the stars in the sky, soon we shall see where his loyalties lie", hinting at the next fic in the series.
Beyond All Human Comprehension
This was the Starfall!Paul origin/Eagle Eye!MacNamara multi-chap I kept teasing. This would've seen Starfall!Paul and Wild Flower!Emma being tasked with investigating a strange blue slime rising up from the ground around the Starlight Theater. When the slime reacts strangely to Paul's touch, the citizens of Hatchetfield are quick to suspicion. But then in swoops Eagle Eye!MacNamara, a visiting hero, and Emma's old mentor. He claims that he too is here to investigate the slime, having already dug up an important lead. Long story short, that "god of the cosmos" that gave Paul it's power? Yeah, that was Pokotho, and he chose Paul as his own personal catalyst.
Strange things start happening over the next couple of days. Namely, Paul is having trouble reverting his hands back to normal when he hardens them into rock, and odd blue hairs are starting to grow on his arms and back. This all reaches a terrifying peak when Paul finds he can't remove his mask anymore, and soon flies into an inhuman rage that'd make the Hulk look pathetic. This out-of-control Paul is contained by the HFPD, but MacNamara speculates that Pokotho is slowly mutating Paul into an otherworldly monster to do his bidding. So while Paul continues to mutate and struggle to maintain control in solitary confinement, Emma, MacNamara, and the Starfall and Wild Flower mission control investigate a way to stop it, and save Paul. Tensions grow when Mindwalker!Holloway and her three apprentices contact our heroes, worrying about Clockwork King's riddle. Holloway warns that should something dire happen, they may have no choice but to fight Paul.
And after another round of mind games from Pokotho, Paul flies into another frenzy and escapes confinement, running wildly through Hatchetfield. But Emma and MacNamara have come up with a plan. Destroy the mask. They manage, Pokotho's rampage is ended, and Paul slumps over unconscious.
Last chapter, Paul wakes up in the hospital with Emma, MacNamara, and his friends/coworkers and family by his side. He's injured, and will have to take a rest from superhero stuff for a few weeks, but he's recovering nicely. MacNamara says he'll be leaving Hatchetfield to continue his investigation soon, and Alice and Deb surprise Paul with a gift. A new mask, blueish-black and silver (aka, the one that appears in @shhimavoidingsleep's design for Starfall!Paul), a much better match for his costume than the old stark white one.
Untitled Tundra Floe!Linda oneshot
This one would've taken place about a day after the last chapter of BAHC. Linda is at home, watching a news report on the events of the previous fic, and she's pissed. She'd been hoping that this debacle would've taken Starfall out of the picture for good, but it appears that being slowly mutated into a hulking wild beast isn't enough to stop him. She begins to consider her options, while Gerald gets up to answer a knock on the door. When Gerald comes back, he appears to be in a hypnotic trance, and he tells Linda that someone's here to see her in a monotone drawl.
When Linda arrives at the front door, she's greeted by a man with greasy, slicked-back hair and an all-denim attire. He introduces himself as Wilbur Cross, unsurprisingly enough, and casually refers to Linda as "Ms. Tundra Floe Monroe", revealing that he knows her true identity. Linda briefly panics, thinking that Cross is here to blackmail her with this info. Not wanting her secret to reach the masses, she offers him money, briefly hinting that bribing folks to keep her identity a secret is something she's done before. But Cross doesn't want her money, he explains, he wants her cooperation. He then asks for her to take a stroll around Pinebrook with him while they talk business, and the pair head out.
Cross explains that he's gone by many aliases over the years during his criminal escapades across the country, but the one he's chosen for his tenure in Hatchetfield is "Uncle Wiley". He is a man of incredible power, as bestowed upon him by five otherworldly brothers. He then goes on to demonstrate some of this power for Linda. First, his gray eyes turn green and eight similarly-colored tentacles sprout from his back. Second, his eyes turn purple, and they seem to pulse with hypnotic power. Third, his eyes turn yellow, and a pair of goat-like horns sprout from his head. Fourth, his eyes turn pink, and he flashes a devilish smile of inhumanly sharp teeth. And finally, his eyes turn blue, and a mask of white stone forms over his face. Linda recognizes that last one as Starfall's old mask.
The powers of Wiggog Y'rath, Bliklotep, T'noy Karaxis, Nibblenephim, and Pokotho, Cross explains as his eyes revert back to their normal gray, all at his fingertips. Cross recently learned of Tundra Floe, the most infamous super in town, and decided to take his operations to Hatchetfield in hopes of earning a powerful ally. He'd already tried seeking assistance from the Clockwork King, but that partnership fell through once he was arrested by Mindwalker. Cross promises Linda that if she partners with him, she'll be worshipped by the people of Hatchetfield in due time, just like she deserves. He lays the praise on thick, and Linda is ultimately won over by his offer and charms. Delighted, Cross' eyes flash purple once more and asks Linda to come with him for a mission briefing, hinting of Blinky's involvement in the next oneshot.
To be continued!!
