I've been rewatching Blackwall romance scenes and it keeps blowing my mind away. here is a few of my favorite things:

his story is almost entirely separated from the central templars and mages conflict, so it feels very local and private, despite having affected a lot of people

he's one of the older companions with a lot of varied experience, and his life as Blackwall feels like a lifetime after a lifetime before

romance with him starts out with some pretty spicy flirting but evolves into a very passionate, but also very gentle love

he's one of the rarest examples in the series that a character can make horrible mistakes but owns up to them and makes active changes to his life and people around him to make things better. atonement, not just redemption.

the way he hesitates between duty, truth and his affection for the Inquisitor does things to my heartrate

you literally don't learn quite a bit of his story if you don't romance him. normally I'm not a fan of that, but the fact that he chooses to tell the Inquisitor those things is so touching

Sometimes creating a full-fledged outline, with three sentence descriptors per scene, is great for my productivity because I don't have to mediate what each scene is gonna be when I get to it, and if changes happen it's because I know what's missing and how it needs to be altered.

But other times I write the outline and then I'm like, "What do you mean I have to finish writing the whole thing before anyone will look at it. There's an outline right there. Fuck you pay me."

I think one if the greatest tragedies will be that because of the situation Louis has found himself in by 2x3's end, he knows he must keep the true motivation behind his relationship with Armand a secret from Claudia. If she knows, then Armand will know, which only quickens her fate.

She will continue thinking until her end that Louis chooses Armand over her, never realizing that he is enduring the same nonconsenual terror she went through, in putting her first over his own physical and emotional agency..until it becomes the thoroughly Armand-driven vampire Stockholm syndrome mind whammy and he loses the thread entirely.
