My adopted dads forefathers has always supported wahine and our ohana, till this day he defended the lands and #homeofthemakaainana . They had given us the written books to study the winds and land for me to surf. When he went to school in france and japan to study culinary and its specialty, i caught up in some books . He is my second dad, while the other was away with his other family in Hotu island. It took one year to convince my Unckes that the Woman’s Literature teacher at the college is nuts. She kept denying the the stories of Pokii that I had responded to the Poukii book she had given us fir class, becsuse she married a Maori. 😳🧐🥺🙄😶🤔. So I told Unk JK to tell Uncle Billy as he was still Kapena. That the they had pronounced it as they spelled it, he just took all the letters out as it becsne unnecessary if we weren’t teaching it. But, Mama [La]ua’e did, she taught under the pavillions and my sister and I every time we had to nomadically cross the bridge from Kalihiwai and Wailua. Mama Tuti also had other plans. It wasnt till we turned 12 or so the Hawaiian Dictionary had been shared, but we had to but it which wasn’t possible unless shipped from Oahu to Kauai. Smack my head, guess its Giraffe @natgeo and Saturday morning cartoons till the sun came up and the girls fetched my sister and I. That was 30 years, and my father had already gone through it all with my uncles on surf trips. The Pacific Islanders Protection Act was already set due to Blackbirding those prior to 1778 and Captain Portir demolishing Nuku Hivas Happa tribe fir which us Hapa kids were named after. Not forgotted, they named it “War of 1812” instead. Uncle JK remembers it, for we all had rights as Natives. I explain the war with Menehune, and where our cape was that #Maori needed to gain rights. Austria agreed to give it back eventually, we have more communications. We were out of mandates and Rise Hawaii Project freed as elder women collected the info in real time “mock trial” field trips. We are birds in cages, The Kioea (Tiaroa) and the Nene are also growing. They fly in flocks to migrate Alaska through Hawaii to New Zealand (Aotearoa). We can follow them soon, as well as our Honu, Kohala, Hihimanu, Mahi, Kukaku ( if they stop commercial fishing makua) going south. But now #Aotearoa is stuck! Only a handful could read ir write hawaiian. Yea like the people on Kauai, Molokai and sprinkle on each island. My town though we were like ok #let’sgo #chilllaxishawaiian. In the process of the 1993 #homeofthemakaainana is the #MokuProject. Because my parents I had to learn Wailua as all Chief families needed too. Hanalei due to my dads surf and sailing, and my fathers same attributes. My mother just went with same lifestyle but different personality, Handy was regal, fighting is not tolerated unless you spar with fishes #mercury. He doesn’t eat alot but he serves the people the best like from Wailua to Hanalei, a well respected man and educated in Culinary in France and Japan in some if the Institutions bring Hawaiian #Fusionfood a presentation a step over our #mixplate. He learned about prepping poison dishes and made it #edibleshawaii and while he studied and did Runway and Mag modeling. He was proactive in checking in, i got rice planes, …while I studied Mariners Acts and these guys, which I figured out already 1994, bordem entailed to adventures in [ma]uka a kai. Hugging trees #ohialove and planting others. #didyouknow talking and touching them helps them grow but you gotta know the chant. The Moai and Menehune, and Nukuhiva was beyond Pavao, grams told us I didn’t need to kill birds or a palaeontologist. If you want yo know how we do our Waimea School Teams can endure the Kapaa Warriors…this is the run…we use this also for athletic scholarship , a short cut for Napali paddling as youth we train in outrigger canoe races because its just as fun together. And we slways encourage kids directly to the club so if in the future they can join these races or long over night camping meetings of island issues.
