Lol Shirley is usually my go to when ppl ask what character they should draw. I’ve had them longer than most and they are easier to get for some people than my other characters. Also you can just dress him in literally anything and it works so that’s a bonus lol

Heya Ash!! Oof you're giving me a project lol thank you so much for the ask!!!

1. How big is your mods folder?

That is a really great question. I couldn't tell you off the top of my head, but it got to the point where I had to put all my mods on a thumb drive and only move them around as I need them because I'm computer was running so terribly. So I'd say it's a lot 😅.

2. How would you describe your style?

Uh, I would say very graphic novel type vibes. I'm a huge graphic novel buff and the story I'm actually working on I intended to be a graphic novel, but it really got away from me and is much too big for that now (not a brag, just my legitimate crack head antics) so when I got into Sims editing the thought was always to kind of keep the drawn/comicbook-y feel to it.

3. What is your favorite challenge?

Thus far it's been the stereotype challenge ! It was a lot of fun and I got to do it with four of my OCs who ended up fitting the criteria pretty well! I just think it came out really well both as an edit and as my OCs.

4. Do you make CC?

Aahahaahahahhaahahaah!!!!!! No. I tried to make poses one time! One singular time and it ended so poorly that I decided to swear off making anymore off my own CC for the distant future. Maybe I'll try it again, maybe I'm scarred for life, only time can tell!

5. What type of CC do you hoard?

I had answered this one before, but I FUCKING LOVE POSES!!!! And like I said I didn't have the best experience making my own so I prefer to use downloaded ones. But I never really clean out my poses in case I need them for something else! So my pose folder is astronomical at this point.

6. What default eyes and skin do you use?

You know.... This really is a question I should have the answer to but I'm totally drawing a blank right now so I'll go ahead and put a link to the eyes here and the skin here when I can look it up! ✌

7. How many URLs have you had, and what are the meanings behind them?

On this blog I've only had the one? And I feel like it's pretty self explanatory, I love Morgyn because 1.) They're the absolute best 2.) Untamed magic? Yes ma'am! 3.) They're gender fluid / nonbinary like me!! And 4.) They're an absolute snack!!!! So it was a perfect fit for me.

I don't really want to answer this one either 😭 but I think the only person I know that makes CC is the awesome @barbieaiden they made a really kick ass emo glove CC that I absolutely love and you should check out. (Sorry if the rest of you make CC I'm sure I've probably seen it, probably even downloaded and reblogged, but this is all I can think if right now 💜) Also my go to for all pose stuff is the glorious @katverse they do incredible poses for pretty much anything you could think up, highly recommend.

11. How do you edit you photos?

This is certainly going to get a few gasps, but I make all of my edits on my phone!!!!! I use just a basic free photo editor app and kind of bend it to my will to get what I want out of it! I'm really bad at figuring out stuff like Photoshop and I'm not willing to pay the expensive price when I can do it and get just as good as a result as I want from something free easy and portable.

13. What do you do when you are unmotivated?

Honestly, this! Editing and the Sims are my escape from the real world. It helps me when I'm having a hard time with my anxiety because it gives me control over something, it helps me a lot with writer's block I can't tell you how my stories have been inspired because of it. But I guess if I'm bored in the game I usually just start a new save or play another game for a bit, I always come back after like a day though! To be fair I haven't been doing this long enough to feel unmotivated yet, maybe we should revisit this when I've been doing this longer than two months 😅

14. Who is your current favorite Sim?

Ugh!!! As you guys have found out about me I don't like to play favorites......... But if I had to say maybe my OC Parker's Sim, he just came out perfectly and is just spot on.

15. Who is your current favorite Sims that isn't yours?

Guidry!!!! He's frickin' hilarious and just so great. I honestly didn't expect them to put as much into him as they did but I'm glad they did!!! He's the best!! He's no Morgyn, but he's pretty great too.

16. Recreate someone else's Sim in your style.

So this sounds like a lot of fun! But I really don't want to change anyone else's Sim, I know how much we all put into them and they're basically like our babies. They mean a lot, so unless I get explicit consent from someone saying I can use their Sim in my style I'm going to pass out of respect this time.

17. Do you talk about the Sims with people in your life?

Yes! One of my really close friends is the whole reason I'm into editing and mods and stuff! She showed me everything I know and is totally awesome for that. (@jennifermakesstuff on Instagram, go check out she's absolutely amazing and a crocheting god, go do it)

.......... I don't want to answer this..... It's honestly a problem..... But I have them all.... Minus the star wars one I just I cannot bring myself to get it, it just looks terrible. Okay yes, but not intentionally but I've moved three times? I had a blog for when I first started on tumblr it was for music stuff but I forgot to pass code to it so now it's just there, the other one I had was for my art & make up stuff but it wasn't doing good at all so I just turned it into my personal blog, and then from there I moved to this one! Also I'm avoiding my personal one like the plague right now because of a whole disaster that happened with someone I followed and I don't have the balls to unfollow them so I'm just pretending that account doesn't exist 😅.

Yep! This one right here by the very amazing @clumsyghostie I'm really new to discord so it's the only one I've been apart of (EVER) but everyone has been really nice and friendly!!

24. What are your thoughts on the most recent pack? (Paranormal)

I like it! It added more to the gameplay than past packs have, but I always felt it left something to be desired in the way of CAS and build mode. Spoilers starting here if you care: Also it would've been cool if you could have had more interactions with Temperance like you can with Guidry, and if the specters did more that would be cool too. Either way I think it's good, I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking for the game experience, but it is fun.

25. How many hours have you played the Sims?

Let's find out 3,215 hours 😅 that's board line a problem hahaha if my math is right (it probably isn't because I'm gay and bad at math) that's a hundred and thirty three days straight? Jesus I might need help lol.

hm.   I follow canon to the point until I don’t.   in terms of phantom there are a lot of different interpretations and versions you can pull inspo from and I tend to mix between the leroux novel and the alw musical ,  and just kind of take the bits that I like and go from there.   the two are pretty different in terms of how raoul is characterised so I’m not totally faithful to either one of them ,  however I don’t think I disregard some of the negative traits in either characterisation either   ???   I try to reflect them in a less fuckboy way.

raoul loves so hard.   he is just a smart ,  brave man who loves and respects those who deserve love and respect.   he’s shy and kind and fiercely loyal and is generally considered to not be worth one’s time because he does not put himself on display.   he’s a thoroughly unique twist on a classic victorian hero archetype ,  by which I mean instead of being the bold ,  aggressive ,  rough-tough-no-emotion type ,  he is a man who is very much in touch with his own feelings and his own emotional health.   he is still a strong leader when it is required but is generally more a lover than an aggressor.

Now the OPPOSITE. List everything why your muse might not be so interesting (even if you don’t agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?)

okay.   so ,  the phandom has generally been getting better ,  especially recently after the livestreams of both RAH and LND ,  but raoul is still very much of background consideration in terms of fanmade content.   generally ,  the r/c dynamic is considered less appealing than the e/c dynamic which is understandable because beauty and the beast narratives are pretty sexy ,  but it tends to be at the expense of raoul’s character.   this also applies to most phantom adaptations which take great pains to develop the e/c dynamic and give raoul barely ,  if any ,  character in general.   ( ie. most of the phantom adaptations don’t even give the raoul character the name raoul )   this ,  however unintentional ,  has given raoul the general reputation of being a ,  to use an academic expression ,  soyboy cuck.   which he is ,  at face value ,  but lack of character development means he’s really not anything more than that.   this leads people to assume he’s a wonderbread boy with zero character which leads to the general aforementioned shelfing.   I won’t claim that raoul is the most interesting character in the story because he’s of course not ,  the phantom is objectively WAY COOLER than he is but that doesn’t mean raoul’s not interesting.   anyways raoul de chagny is my oc

What inspired you to rp your muse?

I’ve mentioned this on a previous ask meme but I love me a good soft boy.   a man who is pretty much completely driven by his love for his SO to the point that it’s at the heart of all his motivations.   really just a total simp.   a boy who doesn’t like being yelled at but also would let his SO yell at him like a dog.   a tall man with a short gf.   a man who would let his gf peg him anyways I’m really into the dynamic and raoul is that to a T.   I’ve always really liked him as a character ,  after being exposed to phantom through the 04 movie I was just really drawn to raoul and more exposure to this character arcchetype developed my interest in him.

it’s fine lol ,  I think at this point I’m used to raoul being cucked in the fandom although that sentiment is generally going away ,  ALW really played himself when he streamed LND and all the comments were talking about how stupid the changes to raoul‘s character were.   if it’s specifically my characterisation ,  I mean I wouldn’t be thrilled but I’d understand.   if you really don’t like me then pls softblock me and don’t vague about me   ????  

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?

that’s a little but of an overreaction but I guess not   ???   I tend not to make a lot myself but I am pretty stupid and I type too fast for my own good so it’s bound to happen.  however I suggest people not make a habit of calling out other people’s grammatical errors because you cannot assume english is everyone’s first language and if you call someone bad at english whose native language is not english   ???  you’re a douche.

What type of characterisation do u like for fics? I do find that fic from back in the day is mostly 1 dimensional but I was curious what ur issues w it where?

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this but I’m gonna be real my opinions on stuff like this have led to me being labeled toxic to the point where people have literally implied they want me and people who share similar opinions with me to leave the fandom, so I’ve been kind of hesitant to answer something like this bashing some recent characterization again. So if you’re one of those people I’m sorry and you should probably stop reading now.

opinions under the cut with some lawlight characterization stuff I don’t like + some stuff I do like:

Honestly? I try and read at least the first chapter or so of every new lawlight fic in the tag and recently it’s been impossible for me to enjoy a lot of it because when I read it it just doesn’t feel like L and Light to me at all? Like it feels like someone at some point wrote a big fic with strong characterization and interesting characters, except they weren’t much like L and Light and they acted in ways L and Light wouldn’t act. And a lot of fics now are based off that same characterization, which in turn inspires fics with that characterization, rinse and repeat. And that’s just not enjoyable to me when I’m looking to read lawlight fanfiction.

Obviously old lawlight fanfiction wasn’t all 100% perfect and there were a lot of doozies in that mix too but it felt like there were more really solid multichapter fics that might have been messy and toxic in ways but they made sense with the canon characters. And fics that did have a happy ending and some fluff thrown in were still written using circumstances that could be believable, even if it took a long time or a slow burn to get there.

To answer your question more specifically, here’s some common tropes that feel out of character to me (and I’m not calling out any specific author or saying fics that do any of these things are poorly written because they’re not and we have a lot of talented and dedicated people here):

Either one of them changing their principles and switching sides within the first 20k words and without a LOT of persuading. IMO “we’re two sides of the same coin and not that different despite both being hugely stubborn” is shit I love, “actually I’ve sided with you secretly the whole time/your magical dick has cured me of disagreeing with you/I’m willing to sacrifice the principles I literally died for in canon easily because I want to be with you” is shit I don’t love.

“We suddenly agree and work super well together as partners now that we’re in an AU and there’s no death note” doesn’t feel authentic to me because death note or no death note their entire outlook on the world is different. Light would think L’s methods are disgusting. L would think Light’s initial idealism is naive. Light believes mankind is inherently good and once you get rid of the bad that can shine, L…doesn’t seem to share that. That’s not to say they can never work together but the good shit is when it’s a long journey into understanding each other and where they’re coming from and slowly making compromises and falling in love.

L being a naive uwu tries his best baby who’s being taken advantage of by Light. Light being a misguided uwu baby who tries his best and is being taken advantage of the whole time by L. They’re more complex than that and they’re both bad people but they also both have good sides so any sort of simplification of the characters into one being a villain and one being a victim is uninteresting to me. 

They shouldn’t work but somehow despite everything they do, because they’re alone and because despite disagreeing and being enemies by circumstance and by beliefs, they know without the other they’d never really be challenged or fulfilled. That’s neat. I like that. It’s messy. They’re drawn to each other even as they’re disgusted with each other.

It’s more interesting when they are their own conflict rather than the conflict solely coming from outside sources.

The 500000 fics where Light is a rebellious and progressive omega who actually secretly wants to be protected by L and feels grateful that they’ve found each other? don’t love that. I dislike omega fics in general even if there’s a couple I’ve thought were pretty alright so that doesn’t help either. It is kind of interesting that despite their differences this could be an in-universe reason to force them together. It just seems like omegafic is the lawlight default right now. Like even fics where the plot doesn’t revolve around omegaverse stuff is sometimes omegaverse and that’s ? hard for me to wrap my brain around? that’s not just a lawlight problem though that seems to be happening in a lot of fandoms

Similarly to point one, either of them being okay with losing like lol what. 

yotsuba can be difficult to tackle because there’s so much going on there with the characters, but there’s so many interesting layers to explore and dive into that sometimes get ignored in favor of fluffy hijinks and that’s boring to me. from Light’s perspective L took everything from him and has made his life pretty miserable because of this whole Kira thing and catching the real Kira is the only real thing that could totally clear Light’s name and L just sort of….gives up, for a lot of it. mopes about and acts unmotivated and uninterested because Light isn’t Kira. that’s probably very frustrating for light! and fun wacky fluff or hijinks can happen, but I love when it happens in the “we got so distracted being the smartest people in the room we forgot we’re supposed to be enemies” way because that’s juicy to me

sometimes it’s the little things, too, that bother me. stuff that’ll happen and it’ll completely pull me out of the story. like L Lawliet made Naomi Misora destroy her whole damn computer after he slid into her DMs and you really think there’s any way in hell he’d have any sort of google home or siri or alexa? or casual social media, even under fake names? facebook knows everything. or light saying something or making a joke that i could never in a million years see him saying in canon because the author thought it would be funny or cute. 

anytime Light is suddenly some kind of beacon of goodness champion of justice just because he didn’t find the death note. the death note didn’t make him a completely different person, he’s bitter and jaded and thinks some people would be better off dead even before getting the death note. self righteous yeah totally but actually righteous? nah man

or Light just being a fucking awful person who kidnaps and r*pes L because he lusts after him but it’s okay because somehow in the end they end up together ? i’ve seen that trope a few times and i know it existed in 2007 too i just avoided it like the plague then also. 

I see a lot of AUs that are less “what would L and Light legitimately do if this was the situation or universe they were placed in” and more “i want to write this situation happening like this and i want to make it lawlight because that’s my main ship” 

like, the characters that are being written are fine but if you want to write OCs right OCs. I know all of this seems really harsh which is why I put a warning about it at the beginning, and of course I know some of these problems were also prevalent between 2013-2017 and there’s tropes here that have been happening like this since the dawn of lawlight fanfiction, but since it’s happening now and now is when i’m frustrated by it now is what i’m complaining about, it could be the reason i go back to older fanfiction so much is because i had lower standards back then and it was easier for me to wade through the ones i hated to get to ones i liked and now it’s easy for me to find those again. who knows. Also I agree most fanfiction from 2007-2009 were pretty 1 dimensional. 

And like, fuck me I guess but I actually like the canon characters and I joined the fandom to experience more of them and apparently that makes other people feel unsafe.

I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to express opinions that are different than me or that I Know Better Than Everyone Else or that I don’t like people posting their own headcanons or ideas or things they wish were different about the series, it’s just not my cup of tea and it’s a little frustrating that fanon is mostly all I get in fics now and that people are allowed to express opinions but only if those opinions are “people who stick too close to canon are elitist and should die and are sticks in the mud and need to leave the fandom to stop ruining things for everyone else” because like, we’re people too?

Anyway sorry this veered in a bit of a different direction and I hope I don’t lose followers over this because it’s sad to see people go but I’ve been blogging here for over 5 years and I’m not going to stop anytime soon. I also wrote most of this while having bad anxiety at like 3am last night so it’s all over the place and i’m probably going to think of like eight things in the shower later I forgot to mention because i’ve been thinking over this ask for like two weeks now.

A good concept which I’m always up for, but to be honest with you I’m more of a fan of the other way around :O like, Kiri is so good and bright and friend with everyone, jealousy might as well be something Bakugou’s used to by this point - but Bakugou, people tend to avoid him or think of him as rude and annoying, Kirishima wouldn’t be used to jealousy at all you know? So I like it that way around more haha

I wouldn’t call it an artblock, it’s more like… like your mind is one step ahead of your skills, I’d say. If treated right, you can turn that feeling into improving your art! What is it that you don’t like? Can you break it down to smaller things? Is it the line work or the coloring style, or even just the way you draw eyes or hands or noses? If you can focus on the smaller parts of what you don’t like in your style you can then look up a way to do the same thing that you do like, and practice that till you’re satisfied with it! One small thing might not mean much by itself, but putting all these small things together is how you make improvement happen :D

Relationship status: What’s a relationship? hahaha *sobbing*

Favorite color: Probably a light desaturated purple right now, but I love a few specific shades of pretty much every color

Pets: Until very recently I had a black cat named Lewis; he was 15 when he passed away unexpectedly. We still have his brother, a grey tabby named Jake - and recently got a white-with-black-spots half-pit puppy named Octavia (Tavi for short). 

Wake up:  Recently I’ve been getting up around 10:30. I am not, never have been, and probably never WILL be, an early riser. 

Cats or dogs:  Cats. Absolutely cats. I like dogs, but they’re harder and have so much energy and I have no idea what they’re thinking at any given point in time. I know cats like I know myself.

Coke or Pepsi: Coke. Pepsi has always tasted gross to me *shrug*

Day or Night:  Night. The dark is calm and quiet and easier on the eyes. I can walk around and not feel like people are watching me. And I get all my best ideas at night - drawing is easier at night. 

Text or call: That depends. Communication is so much easier to me over a call - but texting is so much less stressful if it’s someone I need to be careful around (and not sound like an idiot to). I’d rather text bosses / coworkers / student peers, but call friends and family I guess?

Chapstick or lipstick:  Neither. I low-key wish I knew of a lipstick color that wouldn’t look stupid on me, but since I don’t really wear makeup it’d probably stick out no matter what, and I’d feel like a fool experimenting. Especially since it’s expensive. As for chapstick, I wear it when I have to, but for the most part I don’t like the oily feel of it.

City or country: Country. I like the quiet, and the stars at night. The bugs (praying mantises! milipedes! damselfies! lacewings!), the plants, and the freedom to be outside without feeling observed (usually). I could lay mostly naked in a hammock in the windy shade on a hot day if I wanted to! Without having to worry about someone being disgusted by my fat haha

Last book I read:  Oh god I’m not sure. I go through like, waves, of wanting to read, and having zero interest in reading. The most recent wave, all I’ve read is fanfics. Before that I went through another dystopia craze, but got peeved off with like 4 different series and never finished any of them. I can’t actually remember what the last book I finished was... the last book I STARTED reading was Steven King’s Insomnia (which, I’ve read before). It was on my desk by my bed and I read the first chapter a few weeks ago. 

Last song i listened to:  Shostakovich’s Waltz #2 - which sounds incredibly pretentious xD I’ve been putting together playlists for the bot on a discord server, though, and was just listening to random stuff to see what I wanted to add.

Five facts about me:

1. I sometimes have weirdly vivid and comprehensive dreams. Like, to the point where when I tell people about them, they often think I must have consciously added details or plot points after-the-fact. I do often use dreams as inspiration for most of what I write or draw, but when I tell my dreams as-is, they ARE as-is. Honestly, unconscious me is a much better, much more detail focused story teller than I could hope to be while awake. I can’t take the credit.  2. I will absolutely always want to talk about headcanons and OCs for Harry Potter, Starwars, and Pokemon. Those three are my favorite universes- there’s so much leeway to do your own thing, but within interesting context. Talk to me about wand-cores and what your animagus form and patronuses would be. Tell me what race your jedi/padawan is and what color your light saber is and what your ship is like. Tell me all about your pokemon team and how you got into training and what you carry in your pack. I looooveeee themmmmm 3. I live within 4 hours of Canada - but I’ve never been there; the only time I’ve ever been out of the country, I went to Beijing China for two weeks. Also despite having traveled as far as China - I’ve never even been to the ocean.  4.  I come across as really weirdly ‘random’ sometimes, but I think it’s mostly due to an incredibly short attention span. If I have a thought, it’s like I HAVE to follow that new thread. I’ll do this thing where, like, for example - my mom might say “Hey look a butterfly!” and I’ll look up and see this little white butterfly - so I’ll say “oh yeah!”... but then immediately my brain is off - that butterfly reminds me of a monarch we named Karma that we saved from a random summer hail storm - which makes me think about hail, which makes me think about bad weather in general, which reminds me of that time we lived in the trailer park and there was a tornado, and I was really afraid of tornadoes as a kid but one day I found a rock with a tornado pattern on it and I let myself believe it was a talisman that would protect me, but isn’t just “Letting yourself believe something” kind of weird? That gets me thinking about beliefs and religion, which gets me thinking about “okay but what sparked the big bang” and “what if that was the launching of our quantum “program” and higher dimensional beings are our “God”? Which just gets me thinking about the 4th dimension in general and trying to understand it. So I ask my mom “Do you ever think about the 4th dimension?”... but from her point of view the entire interaction was “Hey look a butterfly!” “Oh yeah!” *10 second pause* “Do you ever think about the 4th dimension?” I’m sure it seems less weird over the internet- firstly y’all don’t know what else might have drawn my attention to that new thought (did the tv mention it? did I see a post on my dashboard?), and also it’s probably pretty a fairly common thing anyway- but people irl have expressed a lot of confusion over how I flit from one thing to the next like that. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to backtrack and explain how I got from a song on the radio to that time I found a lightening bug in the grass with my peripheral vision when it only had really dim residual glow and hadn’t even flashed and how weird peripheral vision is in general, for example. 5. I get really upset or defensive if I’m feeling like I’m being misunderstood; especially if someone is telling me ‘how I feel’ or ‘what I think’ and I disagree. My point can be entirely irrelevant, but if I can’t get it across, I get really frustrated with myself. I’ll try to rephrase it a million times just desperately trying to be understood, but the more flustered I am, the less good I am with my words - and to the other person it looks like I’m just being bull headed about the point they THINK I’m making and repeating it over and over. If the argument ends and they still think I meant something I didn’t, I get really self-conscious of what they must think of me as a person, and will probably assume they never want to talk to me again and will tell all their friends about how awful I am. Sometimes I’ll apologize, but I can’t erase the mental image of them judging me for something I never even thought when I talk to them, so when I do, I often try to explain AGAIN at that point in time... and usually that gets them upset again. So usually I don’t apologize at all. But I also don’t usually try to go on as if nothing happened either, because I get all wrapped up in myself and become sure they hate me, so I don’t talk to them at all unless they talk to me first, or it’s been long enough for me to forget it happened (eg. at least a year). So... if we get into an argument where I’ve repeated myself a lot and then I stopped talking to you: I’m not ignoring you because I’m mad, I’m assuming you hate me and am afraid to talk to you any more because you might just be tolerating me (someone you hate and wish would stop talking to you) because you’re nice.
