no one asked but I've been itching to talk about this since 2009

there's a scene near the end of sunrise when Hollyleaf tries to make Leafpool eat deathberries, but ultimately agrees to let her go on living because Leafpool had already lost everything

and I believe I once read an interview that said the only reason for Honeyfern’s death was to introduce a reason for the deathberries to be brought into camp

is there anyone who found that whole chain of events as narratively satisfying? I just always felt like that deathberries scene was such a nothing moment, what was the point of any of it?
